The community is great, ever since I moved it I felt that it's a place I can belong and be happy in. Since the day I was interviewed the staff in the renting office were so friendly that I knew I will feel comfortable in this place. Even with the COVID-19 being around, I can see the staff working to keep the apartments well, and staff also wear face masks while coming inside.

As with all places, there are strengths and weaknesses, but overall, the place is decent. The infrastructure is noticeably on the older side (and poor soundproofing between apartments), but the apartments are decent enough for the price, and you get as many parking spaces as number of bedrooms. The place is affordable, and very well located near (walking distance to some) shopping, restaurants, bus stops, and walkable/cyclable trails and the university Arboretum.

I've lived here for one month now. Because of covid-19 they I was told they weren't showing apartments prior to renting but we had to move so we signed the lease anyway. The rental agent knew it we were a couple with a baby on the way and first offered us the smallest apartment they have available (417 sq ft) with only a video. It was a very old apartment with stained counters and a pink bathroom. Luckily my husband called and asked to see it before the actual move in date and a different rental agent said they WERE doing showings, only they were self guided and gave us other apartment options. Some apartments here are brand new, and same haven't been renovated in decades, some have been smoked in and some haven't so be wary. They also have a clause in their extremely long and formal lease that says you have to give them several months notice before you move, even after the lease ends. My lawyer has advised me they can't legally enforce this. We selected a different apartment that had been renovated and everything was fine until a week after moving in when there started being a loud vibrational humming that lasted all night. Turns out it's the upstairs neighbors heating unit making my bedroom walls vibrate and at this point the leasing office and maintenance are not responding to my complaints that I can't sleep 2/7 nights every week. I'm considering moving my bed into the living room to escape it even though the floors are so old that my neighbors every footsteps (this is not their fault- it's the building) can be heard like this is a farm house from 1800. The final straw with this place came this morning when they towed my car. There are parking stickers they give you at move in and I had it affixed to my window but had my car detailed yesterday and got it back around 9pm, after the office was closed. I intended to call them today to get a new one and when I went out to my car it was gone and they said it was my responsibility to have the sticker so I'm now out the $200 to get my car back despite the fact there was no way to get a new sticker between the time I got home and the time it was towed. This is a very expensive place to live considering the actual apartments. There is also an amenity fee that is per person about 1/3 of a months rent cost that covers internet, gym/pool/ laundry access and a bus pass. The internet cuts out so often I had to switch my data plan to unlimited so we can work from home via the internet, they have the pool closed (but issue no discounts because they say it's not their decision) and the bus pass is very modified and only runs from the university to Vairo, not on any other routes. This was overall a very bad decision to get an apartment here and if I could change my mind still I would.

They have a very responsive staff that returns your calls/emails very quickly. The renovated apartments are very modern, definitely a big upgrade from the older units even though the prices are comparable.

I love this place. It is so quiet amd right by a small trail path. I feel so safe here too, the maintenance team and staff have always been extremely professional. Their emails are clear and rent is fair for the beautiful place. I like the white walls in combination with beige carpet, it is my dream apartment. It is located in the perfect spot, right by the bus to campus and a walk from Walmart or Wegmans. The only downside I could possibly think of was the miscommunication of coming in to fix maintenance requests when I wasnt here for the first couple of months (I have two escape artist cats). It may have been a miscommunication between me and staff to maintenance and now I have no issues whatsoever.

U get what u pay for. Great overall bang for buck. Butttt, Good luck getting any real help from office management and team when it counts. Woefully understaffed. Phone calls to office 150 yards from me at 1:30pm are transferred to answering services located in a different country or state. YEAR ROUND FOR MY 3 YEARS HERE. And I hate asking for help and things! At least the actual repair guys are solid and Quick once they finally get the memo.

the place is convenient; facilities is satisfying although the tennis court is not. The room insulation is not very good. this is quite annoying especially for room next to heating or water tank. Overall speaking, this community is still a good place to live. the transport to campus is good for residents without cars

I love it here. The management make sure you are satisfied with your home. They try to resolve any issues. There is a gym, and a pool and a clubhouse. It's kind of nice. The apartment is very spacious and has multiple walk-in closet.

I have been pleased with Vairo Village since I moved in. Front office/management is proffesional and kind, the apartments (I've lived in two) are clean and modern. Maintenance is good, and the gym and pool are well kept and make living here more enjoyable.

The apartment is an acceptable living space. The turnover rate is high and there is only a short amount of time to clean out between residents it looks like. Therefore the apartment isn't in the best of shape when you move in. I've found scratches and dents upon move-in which don't deter from the livability of the space. My largest complaint is the noise and issues produced by the appliances. My heater/AC unit is very loud. And with it's location in the bedroom I've had to resort to sleeping with the heating unit turned off. It doesn't get exceptionally cold with it off (53 degree F minimum) but it's still an inconvenience. The washer has had issues with the circuit it is attached to as well. I have to reset the circuit every week when I attempt to do laundry and the solution hasn't been found. Maintenance has been able to provide me with band-aid fix for this, but the apartment managers need to focus more on the quality/budget of the amenities WITHIN the apartments more, not just the grounds and public spaces.

Not good. When I first moved into my unit there was a gas leak and staff tried to tell us that it was glue. Supposedly they recently put down new flooring and the glue was the smell. We had to call them again and demand they come down. They finally did and turns out, it was a gas leak. That was just the first day. There have been a couple of instances where they incorrectly charged us for gas. They threatened court action because our dog was defecating on the porch (WE DON'T HAVE A DOG).

My major concern when we move was the carpet condition. It was all brown and when I walk with my bare feet, they were brown in color. Besides, carpet was really old. I made a request to change it, particularly considering the health of my newborn daughter. Office, instead send the carpet cleaning contractor. They clean the carpet after we moved completely. I saw how they did the cleaning. Very cheap work. They sprayed a negligible amount of detergent. Just steamed removed the dirt. I have seen how well this is done by other professional cleaners like Red Hot Carpet Cleaning. We do not wear shoes inside. We always ask others (ex; maintenance) to enter with shoe-covers. We like to have a cleaner interior.

Good, clean & well maintained apartments at a great location. Laundry room, gym, basket ball and tennis courts are available. Trash pickup service from your door and you can have two parking slots and you must get Parking sticker for your car from the office. Service team responded in time with couple issues I faced so far.

Vairo Villages is a great option for undergraduates as well as graduate students. The office staff has always been friendly towards me and the maintenance response is superb. My only concern is the rent. Compared to other options, Vairo is a bit more expensive.

The office staff is friendly, but Vairo Village is not as nice as they want you to think it is. They show a beautiful model apartment with a clean new carpet and lots of light. The actual units are very worn and dingy. There are very few overhead lights so you have to buy lamps for every room. The recycling bin is only emptied once per month and quickly fills up so it's often overflowing with trash all over the parking lot. The pool and gym are nice but the laundry room is often dirty.

Vairo village is a peaceful location. It is perfect for students to work and also for families. The apartments are spacious and maintenance is absurd when needed. I especially love the location during summer.

Before moving in, I was not informed that my apartment was a smoking apartment. The smell was so aggressive and foul when I moved in that I had to ask for them to provide an ozone generator to get the smell out. We had to have a discussion about whether they were going to charge me for that service, which they ultimately did not. During the process of doing that service, we had to be out of the apartment. It is unsafe to be there 24 hours after the ozone is complete. I checked by email with the Assistant Manager Whitney to ensure the machine would be turned off when I returned. However, despite her email, I walked in and the machine was still on so we had to be out of the apartment for another day. Through this process, Whitney was not reliable nor was she friendly. These apartments do not look very nice. The staff is rude, unhelpful and incompetent. The prices are significantly too high for the quality. I would recommend you live anywhere else.

Overall it is ok, staff is nice and helpful. I have been here for 5 years, I changed an apartment within the complex after the first year. The problem is houses are not new and renovated, so when you are moving out from they always find something to keep your deposit.

I have been a Resident of Vairo Village for two years now. I first lived in a two bedroom apartment with a patio (one of my favorite features) in which my dog absolutely LOVED! I am now in a studio which is a major downsize but fitting for Booker and I. Minus the noisy neighbors at times- we plan on being long time residents. Location is ideal and staff is very friendly. Overall, great living experience!

I've had a good experience in my current apartment. I have no complaints. This is a pretty quiet place. Far enough away from campus to relax, but has great bus service so it doesn't take lone to get to campus. A short drive from a few big name supermarkets. Great for graduate student life, or for focused undergraduates.
