Quiet and conveniently located near bus stops and North Atherton shopping. Nice staff, pet-friendly. Located near a park and restraints. Affordable. Building on the old side but well maintained. Recreation activities available.

Vairo Village is a truly great place to live! What I love about it, is it's in the woods. It is peaceful, and I can get all my school work done. It also has a great staff, who are great to work with you! I also love how they have a gym, pool, area to relax/do homework. I would 100% recommend this place!

Easy move in experience. I got my keys and a bag of apartment goodies (snacks, toilet paper, paper towels, etc) in about 15 minutes. Apartment is dated and the carpet wasn't spotless but for the price it works.

I like Vairo Village. It's closed to the bus station and market, the area of apartment is big, the public utilities prefect. The only thing that I'm not satisfied is soundproofing. I can hear my roommate calling and the downstairs can hear our footsteps.

The crew did good work but it took a long time to get the issue addressed. Initially the apartment was in a bad condition. The paint was cracked and chipping and the rug was dirty. The company did address my issues but again it took some time

It's a quiet area. The landscaping is beautiful and clean. The apartments are a bit old,and the wall-to-wall cream carpeting can be hard to keep clean, but any service requests that I've had to submit have been quickly and efficiently answered. The people who work in the main office have been very helpful too. The biggest downside is the local laundry facility, which for most of the apartments you need to drive to.

Good experience overall. I wish they offerrd somr sort of rent control for loyal residents who stay for over a couple years. I also wish we could have the option to pay for things such as the amenity fee per month instead of in a large lump sum

Great place outside of town convenient to the bus routs. The buildings are in good repair if not fancy. Nice yards and trees around the apartments, nicer than multilevel apartment complexes. Cheapest rent for a decent place in the area.

So far, the community is nice. The leasing office and the maintenance team? Not so much. We have had multiple issues that occurred that are out of our control and they say they "fix" these issues, when in reality nothing is being done. There's too much to go over for this...

Apartments are well-kept, even though they are old. Amenities are really nice, including gym, pool, cable, internet, and parking. Maintenance requests are tended to quickly and the work is of very good quality.

My experience at this apartment complex has been absolutely positive so far. I've lived in 3 different units within the same complex over the years. The rental office people are extremely friendly and professional (with only one exception) while the entire complex is well taken care of. The maintenance crew is excellent as well and any problems I ever had was usually taken care of the day I submit a service request. I feel like the management company seems to strive to improve the complex all the time too.

Low quality apartment with rising associated costs. Apartment was in poor condition upon move-in and multiple service requests have since been submitted, although handled in a timely manner by staff. Overall, would not recommend Vairo Village.

Never really encountered any issues. The management will acknowledge if they did something wrong. They wouldn't blame it on someone else. Always helpful and very nice. The Maintainance staff is polite and respond pretty quickly

Apartments are a little outdated but reasonably priced. Good location; close to shopping, highway and campus. Mixture of students, graduate students and non-student living. Laundry is not included in rent and there is an amenities fee you need to pay prior to moving in which includes your bus pass, parking, and the use of the buildings/amenities.

So far so good. The staff is kind and courteous. They do not prorate rent prior to move in so I would advise to move on the first of the month. Shower was broke on move in day and took a few days to get fixed, but they responded to my request in 1-2 hours and someone came to look at it. There are a few fixes in my apartment that still need done, but have been in contact about these fixes. Clean upon move in.

Good, very safe. Good facilities, which are swimming pool, washer, and dryer. Near to the Walmart. The bus facility is efficient, especially for the college students. Nice view and scenery. Good neighbourhood

This community is amazing, the facilities in Vairo Village are complete and in the perfect condition, it helps and supports me to study at Penn State University. The officer at office are helpful, so you can ask everything about apartemen services to them. Thank you Vairo Village

The staff was friendly and welcoming. The apartments are why is expected for the price as the location is decent. Just make sure to note any imperfections during move in day. They give you a paper to fill out to note any issues that may be present in the apartment to be corrected and not counted against you during the duration of your lease.

I was frustrated at first. However, I was able to go to the office explain why I was upset and they were very professional and courteous in handling and coming up with a solution. I've enjoyed my time here so far and I'm excited to be able to live here. The amenities are awesome and it's a nice and quiet community.

When I came to Penn State University as a post-grad, I was looking for cheap and the best apartment. Vairo fulfills all the criteria I was searching for. Now, I am a resident of the Vairo village and living among with my friend circle and natural beauty of the village.

Vairo Village is a great place to live. The staff is friendly, the location and amenities are nice, and the apartments are good value for the size. I would recommend anyone looking for a place to live in State College to check it out.

I have only been in my apartment for a couple weeks, and so far the unit is basic but satisfactory. Cabinets and appliances are pretty dated, but it is overall pretty clean. One great thing about the property is that it has a pool, basketball and tennis courts, and fitness center, which look well kept. I did have a frustrating moving process, as I was not able to sign my lease until after arriving to the property (I was moving from out of town) and was given keys to the wrong unit. My unit was also unlocked when I arrived to move in.

I just moved it. There is almost no information I can give you except the move in went fine. Honestly I am just typing now until i hit the minimum of 200 characters which is crap that I have to do this for a review I am not qualified to give yet.

When we first moved in, this place was great. Sure, things are bit run down and worn out, but overall, it wasn't bad, and the office staff at the time was GREAT. However, that staff has since been replaced, and now anything possibly good about living here is ruined by how terrible the office staff is to deal with. They suck at communication, are completely inflexible, and in the end just rip you off. Our lease ended ONE DAY after a new month, and they charged almost $100 in prorated rent. The kicker is that we had all our keys and everything turned in before the end of the previous month, and they still required it. They're rude and unfriendly and just overall miserable to deal with. That being said, here are some other things about the apartment- CONS: -Everything is run down and worn out- especially in the kitchen, it clearly hasn't been touched/updated in at least 10 years. -The floors make you feel like you're going to fall through- we're on the 2nd floor, and just walking down the hallway, you feel like the floor is just going to break underneath you. You can tell it's rotting or something underneath the carpet. I feel bad for the people below us because as loud as it is in our apartment, it has to be louder for them. -Speaking of the apartment below us- you can hear (and feel) every door slam and you can even hear their garbage disposal. -Winter clean up is a joke. They barely touch the parking lot, and they won't do anything until a storm is over usually. Granted, sometimes it's better to wait, but I can't tell you how many times I couldn't get in or out of our parking lot before I got my jeep. (They will also plow some of the snow up behind the cars as they clear, making it hard to get out.) The work on the sidewalks and stairs sucks too, until you email complaining about the sheet of ice you fell on three times, then they'll come take care of it. -The air flow of the apartment sucks. In the summer with the AC on, one room will still be hot, while the room next to it will be freezing (and yes, vents are open in the room that's still hot.) -There is a YEARLY "amenity" fee of $250 for the clubhouse, pool, gym and bus pass. This is required EVEN IF YOU DON'T USE THEM!!! It also covers things like cable. They give NO option of a lower amenity fee to opt out of the gym/pool/bus pass etc. (Again, ripping you off.) PROS: -Their maintenance department is generally nice and pretty quick to respond to issues. -It's really close to a lot of shopping, restaurants, a park, and I-99 Overall, I definitely don't recommend this place. Over $1200 for a 3bedroom/2 bath- you can find a LOT nicer, for much cheaper. (Our new place is a 3 bedroom town home with 2.5 baths for $300 cheaper.)
