I moved in 2013 and moved out 2015, the area is infested with stray cats, my car was broken into three times. Air conditioner had a leak, the maintenance is a nice guy but the manager Leslie Bailey is horrible, she smiles in your face and even when you give the 60 day notice she does not respond to other places when asked for a referral. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. You can hear the neighbors as if they were in your apt. Traffic is horrible on Broad River rd trying to go to work you need to leave earlier because you will get stuck.

My wife and I moved here in January 2015. When we first moved in the carpeting was old and stained, but as soon as we told the staff they fixed it immediately. They're really fast about fixing any problems at all, if there are any. We have the 850 sq ft and it's really big, and you can't beat their prices. Only complaint would be the bathroom size, it's really small, but it's not that big of a deal. Absolutely move here if you're thinking about it. It's really nice, safe, and the staff is super friendly and really helpful!

I have been satisfied with this apartment complex over the last 6 years that I have lived here. The staff at this complex is very professional and good. I feel that this is one of the best apartment complexes in Columbia, South Carolina. It is a nice place to live.

Overall the location is great for work and shopping however I feel as though we were mislead when renting the apartment. At the time of move in our rent was quoted at one price but has fluctuated ever since. I've never been to a place where you the tenant tell the management how much you think your rent should increase. Rent shouldn't have to increase every year.

A Very quiet place to live and very nice staff to meet and greet with.A family came into the apartment complex and was questioning me about this apartment complex and I told them this is a nice private place to live into. TWO WEEKS LATER i saw them and they moved in across from me and they thank me for telling them about this beautiful neighborhood.

Staff in the leasing office were extremely friendly, professional and welcoming. I knew from my first visit this is where I wanted to call home. My unit was very clean upon move in and the outside areas were clean as well. I'm appreciative!!!

If you want to live with roaches, spiders, awful smells due to the old age of the complex, stray cats everywhere because some of the tenants sit trays of scraps outside, kids running everywhere, office staff talk to the maintenance crew like dogs, the office staff become very defensive when you inquire about the lies they tell and lies about the amenities, the laundry room is alllllwwwwwaaaayyyyyssss a mess, a car was stolen from the property, cars were broken into, and the only thing that holds the place together is the wonderful personality of the one maintenance man who is stuck trying to fix the old appliances with old parts. Once there was a time the pressure washer crew had water enter into my apartment and caused damage to the floors (cheap tiles). The office staff was notified, she asked for pictures, and guess what? nothing in return. Day, after day, after day, you have to fight for your assigned parking spots. What-the-heck, why? I could go on but hey, I would think they would be upset. They do not care about tenant retention, they just act like everyone is just a number, who cares about customer service. For those who are desperate, hey give that old smelly place a try but when you move out, all of your belongs will stink to high heaven.

I lived in the Farrington for one year. Over all everything was nice and quiet which i loved! I stayed in the one bedroom apartments, never had any major issues besides the ceiling in my kitchen was leaking, which turned out to be a busted pipe on the 3rd floor unit dishwasher but maintenance fixed it immediately. Only issue i really had was HUGE SPIDERS in my apartment! It seemed to be invested with them, even found a couple of nest which was disgusting! I called maintenance about the problem but they said that there was nothing they could do about spiders but kill them when you see them! They stated pest control only control ants, roaches, and any other bug besides spiders! Which i didn't understand at all! Im not afraid of no bug so i just lived with it unfortunately. But if your deathly afraid of spiders, i wouldn't recommend living here. Management was ok, ---------- seemed kind of rude some days. I know they are a lot of people in the apartment complex which i understand, but at least learning your tenants face would be nice. Every time i would go into the office, she would have no idea who i was and i went in there almost every month! She even mistook me for a child one time! Horrible! But overall i would recommend this apartment complex.

It's been ok. I was upset to learn that the water bill is calculated based on the community usage and not my individual usage. I will be downgrading to a one bedroom or moving depending on my job relocation. Also, EVERY TIME there is a storm, my power goes out.

I love my home. There are a few things that can improve but in all everyone is friendly and willing to work with you. One improvement would be to add additional lights towards the entrance of the complex. Maintenance does a great job with being responsive.

I enjoy living at the Farrington.It a very nice place to stay.It convenient to shopping center,entertainment,schools,library,restaurants,grocery store,churches and public transportation and ect.The staff are very polite and helpful.

My experience has been decent. Nothing negatively major. I would be nice to have the option to have either carpet or would floors without an additional cost to the renter. Also give us the option to pay out right for the floors instead of charging every month. I pretty much feel safe here. I feel comfortable with Rachel the assistant at leasing office. I feel she's honest even when the truth is not necessarily what one wants to hear. She's clearly an asset. Also as I mentioned before. It would be nice to have individual water meters and have a company come in to assist in getting our fireplaces up and running. I believe that's why a lot of us rented here. My lease is up in March and I'm nervous as h*** about how much my rent will increase. ??

I have experience marijuana reeking through my unit since January 2015 which was reported to Leslie, however the issue remains. I have reported ventilation issues that still persist. There is no return mail box at the onsite mail station. Additionally, it was reported ants infestation which was handled quite poorly, rushed and incomplete (problem still exist). Overall, I am not pleased at The Farrington Apartments and feel that "You Matter at the Farrington" (company's slogan) is not a true representation of The Farrington Experience. I do plan to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) against The Farrington.

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY.. I recently moved in last month (April) and my experience with the Farrington Apartments has met and exceeded my expectations. The management team and maintenance staff are welcoming and professional ensuring that all of my needs are met. This community is so quiet and peaceful. It feels like I'm living in the country all by myself. The townhomes are really spacious and comfortable in size with nice private patios. Overall this community is clean and well taken care.. Property Manager Leslie provides a livable and safe environment here. she cares about the reputation of her community. If you have kids. No worries with this community. Very safe. they have a nice little play area for the little ones which my babies love... a nice freshly redone tennis court and a nice pool. Community is well lit at night as well. There isn't enough words to say how nice this complex is. I highly recommend. I especially want to thank the manager Leslie for taking pride in this community. She and her team have really made me feel at home and I am glad to call this place "Home Sweet Home".

My husband and I needed a 6 month lease and an affordable apartment. We have had a great experience at The Farrington. When we first toured, Ashley and Leslie were very helpful and professional. The grounds, though in a less-nice part of town, seemed well kept, clean, and welcoming. Upon initial move in, our apartment had a terrible roach/palmetto bug problem (the unit had been uninhabited for quite a while, we were told). Management took care of the problem immediately and our unit was bug-free within a week or two. We haven't had any problems since. We have also had a few maintenance requests filled (it is an older property so you can expect things to break/malfunction). Every request was taken care of immediately (usually within 24 hours) by the friendly maintenance staff. Management really does care about their tenants and know almost everyone by name, greeting you when you walk in the office door. The community is very pet friendly, just be aware of many friendly stray cats. Overall, we were very impressed and surprised by The Farrington. Great job!

My overall experience with the process to rent a 1BR apartment with the Farrington has been very smooth. I put in my application a few days prior and was immediately approved. Ashli the Leasing Assistant was very professional, up front and made the "area" welcoming. The Leasing manager, Leslie has been very forth coming with the "clean-up" over-haul that has taken place and after speaking with several of the tenants they have been thoroughly impressed with her management of the property. I have only been moved in for a few days but I have slept like a baby and it has been quiet, comfortable and all of my maintenance concerns have been acknowledged to date and I'm sure will be fixed as quickly.

Spoke with property mgr, Leslie, yesterday and was very excited to make the 1 hour drive over to Columbia to see the apartment and begin application process. When we arrived, we weren't too impressed with the look of the place, and certainly didn't like that there is obviously not enough parking(cars parked all along the roadways of the complex), but we were totally up for giving it the benefit of the doubt due to the great reviews I have read. When we arrived and spoke with Ahley, she immediately informed us that she doesn't understand WHY Leslie booked the appointment because she has no apartment to show us. She mentioned the 1 & 3 br that they had available were already rented. I stated that Leslie told me we would see the 2br (which is what we were interested in) that had been updated with wood floors, cabinets, and black appliances. She then stated that the property I mentioned was NO WHERE NEAR ready to be seen. AND???!! She had our phone number, how about a call before we make the 1 hour drive (one way)?! We felt VERY discriminated against. She made it very clear, in our eyes, that we aren't valuable as potential tenants, to not even offer SOMETHING to look at. She may very well have looked at us as the married white couple that won't want to live there since the complex is predominently african-american, but that couldn't have been further than the truth. The area the complex is located in is sketchy looking, and honestly, I'm glad we won't be living there. We went to my second choice, River Bluff in Lexington, and loved it! Signed paperwork immediately, and felt very appreciated!

I have lived in a single bedroom in The Farrington for 2 years now and I must say it has been one of the best apartment complexes I have lived in, in Columbia. The huge balcony was unbelievable as well as the enormous closet. I saw reviews about bugs but those ppl just must be nasty because I have only dealt with 2 waterbugs (Palmetto Bugs) and a hand full of simple house spiders, never roaches because the spray every 6 months I believe. The staff is AMAZING!! Within a day of reporting an incident, the maintenance staff will come to rectify the situation. Leslie is BY-FAR the best property manager I have ever met. She's courteous, knowledgeable, understanding, and will do anything to make your tenancy the best experience you can have. Just walk into the Lobby and you will see her vision and the work she has put into the Farrington to make it special (it didn't always look that good). I would recommend this to anyone looking for a single bedroom. I don't have to much knowledge about multiple bedrooms but where I am staying it is clean, the neighbors are respectful, quiet, and generally good ppl. Best Apartment Complex in Columbia!!!

I haven't moved in yet but the moving in part has taking longer then any place I ever stayed. Its making me think twice about moving here and when I call I never can get a answer from the main office. Leslie is kinda rude if u ask me and I don't know if I would recommend these townhomes to anyone taking it from me and this is my first experience with them. First impression means a lot and my first one here at the Harrington has not been a good one!!!!!

I have lived here for 7 months and I would not recommend moving here unless u like bugs...roaches, palmetto bugs, and the occasional spider after about a week of living here I told management of the bug problem they were willing to help and the guy came out to spray but after two months of spraying the problem continued I was told nothing more could be done the bug problem is strictly to the kitchen I hate bugs I can't even cook in there 7 months in and the bugs are still in the kitchen.....yes the staff is nice but the bugs I cant handle ....and the neighborhood behind the apt has a dumb dog that barks randomly through day n nite n when he barks its a min of 30 mins whether its 2 am or 6 am the dog don't ...not the apt ppl fault bc its not a farrington res ....besides the bugs n dog the only other issue is my neighbor who smokes n the smell seeps through down stairs....the staff is nice and the town home I have is nice n big i just hate bugs n the dog n smoke...hope this helps someone

I have only been here for a short time and absolutely love it, the staff is amazing and they would definitely not put you in a home that they would not live. I would recommend this apartment to any and everyone. Its defiantly a place I would call home.

I have lived at the Farrington for over two years. Leslie and her staff are extraordinary. I move around alot for work. This has by far been my favorite place to live. Leslie and her staff are so accomodating and go out of their way to provide whatever you need. They also go out of their way to provide a safe and quiet environement to live in. Mike and the mainteance staff are very professional. Every issue I have had has been fixed immediately. I've never lived in a place where I felt like a name, not an apartment number and Leslie and her staff know me by my first name. These days, that is very hard to come by. If I didn't have to move, I wouldn't want to rent from anyone else other than her. Her door is always open and that means alot to someone who is single and travels alot. The environment is quiet, lots of families. I've never had a disturbance once in the two years I've lived there.

I love these apartments so far. i just had moved from NC and its the best place to live its safe . i have 3 kids and am always looking for a safe place and am thankful i did. As far as for the staff they are so sweet and nice (very welcoming). when my husband first saw these apartments he told me "oh i saw these nice apartments safe area and nice staffs there very respectful so i don't know why people put bad comments about them. And they fix everything right away and same day very respectful guy . so if you are looking for a nice and safe place to stay i really recommend it and believe me you would want just want to rent because of how nice the staff in the office are.6

I moved to the Farrington in June 2013 and I have enjoyed living here. My experience in the beginning was strained as I had lived in my previous residence for over 6 years, but the staff at the Farrington has gone above and beyond to ensure a wonderful living experience. Whenever I go into the office the Ms. Leslie and the staff have been wonderful. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The atmosphere is like that of a family instead of a managing company. Whenever I have a maintenance issue Mike always comes and gets the job done. He is wonderful at his job. I love living here.

I have resided at The Farrington for 6 months now and I must say I am very pleased with my stay, thus far. The staff was very friendly and helpful from the start, making my move in process quick and painless. Maintenance comes in a timely manner and seems to be very proficient. Since I stay in a townhome I have two assigned parking spaces so I never have to worry about finding a place to park. The Farrington is extremely quiet and peaceful and I definitely would recomment this community to others. On top of everything else, they painted a red accent wall for me prior to moving in! I will be renewing my lease for sure.
