An apartment is an apartment
I've lived here for two years but I only use it to rest and eat. I'm a law student and wanted something close to downtown for a good price but I didn't want to pay big city prices. It's quiet when I study and attempt to get rest. I don't use the facilities but they are there. My neighbors are nice and the office staff leaves me alone.

New and settling in just fine
I just moved here from another state and I've been here for 5 months now. Since I've arrived everyone has been friendly and I like it. I have to drive into town if I want elite shopping and the parking can be congested if I get in extremely late but thats my only complaint. My lease is up and my work contract is being extended so I intend on renewing soon.

I lived there 2010-2011 and I got broken in this year. People were obviously watching me and I got him, wiped me out! Management didnt even care so i dont care on writing a bad review. Apts are OK, parking sucks, maitenance takes forver, and are expensive. they let anyone move in now a days!! NOT RECOMMEND!

Safe and Great Mgmt. Staff
My girlfriend and I have lived at Stone Park for about 7 months and it has been the best apartment complex I have rented from. The office staff is what makes this complex top notch. The few times I have needed to contact the office, they bent over backwards to accommodate us. Then they did a follow up to make sure my girlfriend and I were still satisfied with our repairs. Thank you to the wonderful and professional staff at Stone Park!!!!

Big changes
I'm sure that I'm one of the few that have been here from the beginning but I'm still here. I've seen a lot of changes and why things will never be perfect I can tell you that we have seen many in the last year. There use to be a new face every week, maintenance was nice but not well organized but these are things that have come to pass? My neighbors stay to themselves, the mgmt hired a new cop that resides near me that helps the neighborhood, they hired a company that drives the property 7 days a week from dusk to dawn and office and maint people for almost a year now. I'm moving to California soon but I now know what to expect after going throught he bad and then the good. I appreciate the attention the patrol and office pay attention to the pool area. They will kick you out if you don't live here and if you're tresspassing, I've seen them take people to jail. They care about us but that can all change with a new people because I've seen it before here and other places. It's all about timing.... Thanks for letting me share. Good bye Tejas!

Was a home owner and I'll never go back...
I moved to Stone Park in November of last year and I love it. The maintenance team takes care of everything I ask for and I don't worry about anything. I live by the pool and they just replaced all of the pool furniture and painted our grill. The office team is always nice and have helped me find a new dry cleaners and all of the other things I needed when I changed my location of area. I don't pay taxes, pool upkeep or maintenance. I <3 my apartment and don't miss the home hastle.

Plan on staying awhile...
I don't have anything to complain about so I won't. I have a garage, nice insides, 2 pools and the conveniences of the Beltway and Interstate close by.

Lived in Houston my entire life and been at SP for 4 years now. Staff is nice and starting to get things . Units are worth the price and I know because I've lived from here to Katy. Parking is plentiful and rates for extra parking is decent.

Happy at home....
I read the other reviews and I'm happy to say that I'm happy at home. There is plenty of parking so I feel secure that there will be a spot when I come home since I'm a single female. I accidentally ran my battery down and stopped in to ask the staff for a wrecker driver's number.... instead they assisted me and jumped my car without me even asking! I call all of the time for packages because I work in an industry that requires of a lot of deliveries and they never get tired of helping. My apartment is great with a fair price! I lived in Midtown and paid almost twice this price and my neighbors are really friendly too. The parking lot tends to be busy at the shopping center next door but at least I can walk and shop! There is no other community in this area with shopping so convenient.

I have lived here for 2 months now. I have to admit, after reading some of the reviews on here I was a little nervous. However....I love it! My apartment is very nice, neighbors are great! Love the fitness room! The people that work here have been nothing but friendly and helpful. Prices are decent. It's kept very clean, and I've been to the pool several time, including weekends, and it's always been nice, quiet, and relaxing.

Semi-decent for the area...
Me: single, late 20's, degreed, -------- professional So let's start with the pros... - So to be honest, the apartment units are nice for the price. Crown moulding, faux hardwood floors, loft-like ceiling, garden tub/shower, washer/dryer included. A 1 bed/1 bath like this would go for easily twice, three times, even four times the amount in downtown Houston...trust me, I've searched for apartments in the downtown area for 2 months and have done plenty of research! **For those who dont believe me there's a GrayStar apartment complex on TC Jester (GrayStar built Stone Park), and for the exact same unit I have stayed in, was going to charge me $950!** - I have checked 77049 (Stone Park's zip code) on various crime maps and crime is a plenty in the area, however, honestly crime isn't a big issue at the complex. I've been here a year and a half and have seen 2 trucks on cinder blocks, and about 2 separate occasions where cops were called out within the entire complex. Not too bad for 18 months, especially in this side of Houston. - Have never had a problem finding parking. Parking is a plenty! - Mosquitos are an issue, but come'on people this is the Bayou City...mosquitos are everywhere! Now for the cons... - When I moved in 18 months ago, my neighbors were nice and friendly, mainly young professionals or young families. The pool was full of respectful families just enjoying a nice day in the water. Now? Not so much. Ask the leasing office and during your tour, they'll mention how San Jac uses many of these units as "dorms" for their sports teams, since San Jac does not have a housing facility for their student athletes. Basically, it's turned into a frat house. It's common to see these "student athletes" jumping from one unit to another, red party cups in hand. - The professionalism of the office staff is to be desired. I had purchased a $500 computer online and since I was not at home during the delivery, the package was dropped off at the front office. I stopped by the office after getting off work. All 3 on duty agents were busy with prospective tenants. Being polite, I waited 5 minutes. After waiting and recieving no acknowledgement, I stopped an employee and asked about my delivery. They pointed me to a storage closet where the packages were sorted by apartment number. Nobody supervised me. I walked in, saw the computer I had ordered, and walked out with it. Before leaving the leasing office, a female employee approached me and asked if I had "signed the clipboard", to which I replied no one had given me instructions. She mentioned how there was a clipboard hanging by the storage closet door. She left me unattended. Being the honest person I am, I did sign my package out. No one checked ID, no one checked to see what was being checked out, no one witnessed my signature. I could have went Christmas shopping and no one knowing who I was or who's package I picked up. - Please do not let the leasing office sell you on Stone Park being a "gated" community. Gates remain open on the weekend, either by the front office or one of our "colorful" tenants messing with the gates and prying them open. - Walls are paper thin! From my bedroom, I can hear my neighbor's telephone conversation through our adjoining wall. - Worst thing of all, maybe it's due to the economy or sluggish apartment sales, but anyone can live here...ANYONE! I doubt they do a credit check or income verification. So you can imagine what type of tenants this complex attracts...anyone and everyone. I'm leaving it at that. - Stone Park has a public pool! The first week I moved here, I noticed Kim asking several people at the pool to remove themselves from the presmises. They were not rent paying tenants and why should they be treated to our, once nice, beach-style pool? That was about the only time. The weekend now looks like a shoot for a rap video. To those who still aren't believing me...I invite you to share in our lovely pool, resident or non resident. The gates are open and no one checks to see if you actually live here or not. I'm willing to bet, as a non-tenant, you'll be able to enjoy the pool just as much as anyone else. - Pet size policy is not enforced! I own a pet and was told at the time of lease signing, pets under 40 lb would be allowed. Riiiigghhhhtttt.... I've seen Labs, Golden Retrievers, Boxers, all of which are well over 60 lbs. Hope you dont have a fear of big dogs!

If you don't like liars, don't move here.
If you don't like to be lied to, then you probably should not move here. They only give lip service and don't follow through with anything unless you are right there over them making sure they do it. Don't get me wrong the apartments are nice, but I guess you can't have it all. Which is probably why the staff is made up of a bunch of lazy liars.

Mice!!
I currently live in Phase I and have mice in my apartment. I had to purchase deterrants with my own money. Maintenace claimed to have set traps "Under" the stove and the refridgerator back in August of 2009. I've NEVER seen the traps. Fast forward to December 2009 and they're back again!! I put in a request for maintenance the traps were VISIBLY placed between the stove under the cabinets etc. And needless to say,3 mice were caught. I've gone into the office to speak with the manager on several occasions, she has yet to meet or contact me. Renter BEWARE!!!

RATS!!!
We have complained to management about having mice in ourapartment. They said that they are really busy and will get to it when they can. In the mean time, we are living with all our utensils, pots and pans on the kitchen table. We are very clean and neat tenants and have never paid rent late. How can they expect us to continue living like this?

HORRIBLE!!
The new management has taken over can be described in one word- WORTHLESS. She is doing all these new polices and won't NOTIFY anyone! Got charged extra because I wasn't notified of the extra charges on rent. Break ins, drugs happen all the time. This is the upper level ------! Don't move here if you value your $$ and SAFETY.

A real review.....Stone Park is what you make it!
Having lived at Stone Park from the time they opened, I can say it has changed. However, the management of Stone Park keeps getting better. Connie, the original manager was awesome, then came along Bridgette who began to tear down everything built and then Sonia who really continued on Bridgette's ways. Now with new management, Stone Park really seems to rise up. Talking to friends who live in other places, they say how lucky I am to be living in a complex with resident functions. They usually come over for those functions. For example, the last function was a resident garage sale and it was a nice gesture of Stone Park to help us get rid of stuff for our own profits. They did all the advertising for us and even helped us set up. The resident functions are always enjoyable and the NEW office staff is extremely helpful if given the chance. I invite anyone in to see them and talk to them and find out for yourself. Those of you who complain either have the wrong attitude or are impatient. As for the management written posts, it is disturbing that a manager named Bridgette would do such things and then come on later to say she did it. Wow talk about dishonesty, Bridgette they did a good thing getting rid of you, I would never have someone dishonest working at my own business. You said it yourself you did it! Before reading take into account positives are from pleased individuals and negatives are from residents who are displeased. WhY ARE THEY UPSET? Impatient? Materialistic? Self-Centered (wanting everything done right then and there)? AS for me I can say yes Stone Park does have its issues, but the positives way outshine the negatives. Also take into account those who say they are displeased but post anonymously....What good does that do, you hide from the issues and therefore your post holds no validity.

dissatisfied tenant
I am a tenant at stone park apartments. Who thinks the management is truely terrible. I saw on a post where they put they can not be everywhere. But it is there job to take care of the place. I walk out of my apartment this morning to see that one of my neighbors or on the behind his truck which are setting on bricks. All four tires and rims stolen. Now we live in an apartment complex that will allow wreckers to ride through the apartments but no security. You tell me who are they for? and what do they stand for when it comes to their tenants?! To the person who responded to this it was very unprofessional if you are part of management. Here is a little advice. You all need to look at what people put on this site and use it for ideas and figure out ways to improve your system. Instead of jumping on here trying to discredit what your tenants are writing. We are the ones paying rent. As for Lafayatte Plaza I don't stay there I live here. And if you disagree tell us the positive without the negative remarks.

Highly recommend
I have now been a tenant at Stone Park since Feb 09, I am very pleased with my experience, I think anyone who wishes to complain are part of the problems, ie: if someone is parked over the line, why don't you just find another parking spot. The management has always been very nice, and twice we have had work orders in and they were taken care of or addresses promptly. The reason the pools are so dirty is not due to management it is in part due to tenant who invite their rift raff friends who then invite over their friends and in time there are full caravans on non-residents taking over our pool which we pay for use each month. It take a little initiative on the tenants part to also take part in controlling this, seeing that management can't be at so many places at one time. I think the apartments are built nicely and are well worth the monthly rate.

unhappy tenant
Hi I am a dissatisfied tenant at stone park apartments who has paid her rent on time and has caused no problems. The management team my look professional but it stops there. Some are really courteous while most can be really rude. I don't recommend these apartments for people with kids. The workout rooms both have eqipment that has been broken for about 8 months. The have no security on the property but yet they have these money hungry tow truck drivers coming on to the property to tow cars! Under the shed I understand if you have not paid and even in the red zone but if your car is parked on the line or little over the line caused by a chain reaction from the way others park I don't. Also to retrieve your car from the salvage yard the least you are going to pay is $191.36 no matter what time they pick up the car the first day. I don't know about you but I did not have that extra money to waste but I need my car to get to work. I am a single parent trying to make it. They had no consideration of me tenant. I have yet to hear from them. Oh the water pressure is terrible and the pool in phase 1 seems to always be dirty.

Very nice place
I have lived at Stone Park for about 7 months now and it is a great community! The ladies in the office are very friendly and we have not had any issues with maintnence. I really like how the property has its own exit gate to wallisville road so you do not have to take the extra time to loop around beltway 8 if you are making a commute downtown. The office also sends out a newsletter monthly with resident gatherings and contests. I noticed how a few people have complained about the gates malfunctioning but that happens at any aparment community, I mean they are only access gates. Anytime we have had any issues with the gate or remotes our problem was always fixed immediatly. My daughter and I love this place and plan on transfering to a larger unit as soon as our lease expires. While apartment searching I found that Stone Park is by far the best complex in the area, even compared to the new construction next door. I am happy to call it home!

Great place to live.
I have lived here a year with my wife and infant son. We are extremely satisfied. The office staff has been nice, and there have been no maintence issues. We would renew our lease but we are moving to Dallas. Pros: No maintence issues Quiet neighborhood Always a parking spot Safe for children Pet friendly Cons: Gates often are left open Sometimes we hear noise from upper neighbors Problems accessing fitness center and pool

Great Place to Call Home
I have lived at Stone Park for almost 2 years and I have enjoyed everything about this apartment complex. All of my maintenance issues have been corrected in a timely manner and the staff, (including outside staff) is very friendly and helpful. Just wanted to let everyone know its not as bad as the comments make it seem on here, I've been very happy!!!

We have lived here for 9 months. The walls are extremely thin. We live on the 3rd floor and the neighbors below us hear when we walk across the floor. The parking is not safe for kids. People drive fast without paying attention. We had both of our cars keyed. You need to get a garage (additional charge). The gates never work and we were only given one remote for our garage. I have called the office over 15 times regarding issues with the neighbors below coming to our door and other problems (cars getting keyed). They never once returned my calls. This complex has very weak customer service. If you want a cheap apartment and do not care about service, noise, bad parking, and dirty grounds... this is the place for you. We are moving out in a few days and we would never come back!
