Great PLace

I have lived here for over a year and I can not believe how ridiculous all of the resident are being with their comments, The previous manager and staff they never cared about anything and they never did anything. The new staff have been wonderful and My family and I have enjoyed all the events they have done recently. They have not been there long, they can not do miracles.

    ok for a while

    When we first moved here my wife and I were quite satisfied. The apartments seemed spacious and were brand new. A few months later things started deteriorating. Our sink started leaking and we called management. They finally came to look at it but did nothing. It leaked again, and again they did nothing. Finally we called and complained and they actually brought tools and fixed it. A couple of months later we had problems with our phone so we called management to come and look at it. It took them nearly 2 weeks before anyone came. When they did they told us it wasn't anything to do with the apartment so we needed to contact the phone company. We did and they said they would send someone out to look at it but it would cost a minimum of $35. We called management and told them they would need to cover this charge because it was not anything we had caused and they told us a phone was a luxury item and that they couldn't cover that charge. When we moved into this apartment they told us and 8 other families what our rent would be and that it would not increase when we renewed our lease, however, our friends just got their renewal notice and it is increasing by $110. The new management stinks and doesn't honor promises that are made. We and all our friends have had nothing but problems with them.

      worst apartment ever

      i have lived in a apartment complex that was 24 years old and falling apart and would be more that happy to move back there if i could get out of my lease here. I have currently had a work order in the office for the maintince crew currently for 3 weeks and still have not had the problem fixed. Do the staff members care about their residents? i dont think so. I was issued a lease violation for drinking beer by the pool. The apartment staff stated that the rules posted by the pool said no food or drink in the pool. my question is why are there trash cans and a soda machine by the pool? And can i drink water by the pool? well water is ok they told me but i dont see the difference. the staff here is terible as well as the noise. there is a 2 bedroom apartment above mine with 6 people living in it and 2 or 3 dogs. the walls are so thin and the floor makes so much noise it makes me feel like my neighbors live in the same room i do. i would def. not recommend this place to anyone.

        worst place ever

        I have been living here for almost 2 years, when I first moved it, i had to admit, it was beautiful, the *OLD* staff was wonderful, the scenary was great for an apt complex. In about 4-6 months, I noticed the walls Had CRACKS, it seems like every week they had people coming into my apt when I was not home, doing god knows what, taking stuff if they wanted to, trying to fix problems that occur too much. I understand why the *OLD* staff left, and now the *new* staff comes in, and they are as horrible as these apts. I already bought a house and thank god I am out of those apts. It's not common to have the gates MALFunction every day and just be open to thieves can just waltz in and just have a shopping spree, I came home from work everyday and see the gates open, and everyday I leave for work I see maintenance crews. This apt was suppose to be NEW and just atfer 6 months It started falling apart.Like I said I'm just glad I moved.

          The noise level is horrible

          The wood floors look great but they create a noise level that is unbearable. I lived below a couple that had small children and the children would run across the floors all day and all night. I complained to managemnet repeatedly but they did absolutely nothing to remedy the situation.

            Most of these reviews are from upset residents trying to get back at the management if you like them then reside here!

            some of you people are complete morons! this apartment has its problems like most APARTMENTS!! I am a resident here and the apartments themselves are beautiful! I love the hard wood floors and the layouts. Some of the staff are horrible and have no customer service skills but you will run into that anywhere. If you dont like it then keep to yourself trust me they will leave you alone. About the thefts that some of you have mentioned THAT HAPPENS EVERYWHERE! It is not managements fault!!! for one of you that said people grow weed in this complex because they have blacklights? whats wrong with you!!!!! they have blacklights on because some of the residents here have FISH TANKS! or like myself have lizards and have a black uv light on them at night! Overall these apartments are not bad! The staff...needs to get a clue and treat there residents better because if they did then maybe people would write these nasty hateful reviews.

              If you do not like it buy a house!!!!!

              I have been here almost a year and never had a complaint with the exception of the trash and that is the fault of the residents throwing their trash at the dumpster instead of following the lease agreement of curbside pick-up that is offered three days a week. I know for a FACT their has NEVER been a drug bust in these apartments. Cars are broken into everywhere in the city.The lady that was picketting is psycho.THE "SINGLE MOM" who lost her deposit should have contacted the schools DUH!!! Perhaps you complainers should save your money buy some land and build a house.

                  All I can say is I was so glad when my lease was finally over! I wish I had read all of this before I moved there. At the beginning it seems all nice because it is brand new but believe me it doesn't matter how new it is if it was built cheaply. Definitely not worth the rent or the trouble. Stay away from this one.

                    THE MANAGEMENT LIES TO YOU!!!

                    Do not trust the management/staff at the Villas of Highpointe. Candra specifically told me that ALL the school buses "pick up" in front of the office. I felt secure about my children having transportation to and from school and I believed what was being told to me, so I gave Candra my deposit.<br><br>Then I found out that the bus service does NOT pick up in front of the apartments. I would not have a way for my children to get home, so I asked the management to refund my money since I had been given false information (lied to). The management refused to give me a refund.<br><br>I will see Candra and Debbie in small claims court very soon! I can't believe these people take advantage of a single mom and lie their way to a "sale". How can they live with theirselves?

                      Safest place I have ever lived

                      I have lived here for almost 8 months and this has been the most enjoyable living experience I have ever had. It is very quiet and secluded. It can be somewhat noisy at times but that is with any apartment complex. If you want complete peace and quiet you need to move to the country. As for the Villa's being unsafe I would have to disagree. It is securely gated and as the old saying goes "if you don't want something taken then don't leave it out where someone can take it. Also, if a thief wants something bad enough he/she will take it no matter where you live, they don't just take from the Villa's. <br>I love it here and I will continue praise this apt complex. I have recomended it to many people and they would all agree with me. There is no perfect apartment or home. I look forward to getting new neighbors.

                        Academy for auto theift!!!!!!!!!!! founded 2004

                        Not to long ago I had my car broke into and my motorcycle stolen. Then later that day my car was stolen from my "secured" garage. How this event began was, I would notice on several different occasions mysteriously my garage door would open on its own. I complained about this incident and I was told by the office staff, that it was just a "normal malfunction" (or regular practice of the auto thieves). So after a month or so after it was supposedly fixed I went to my garage and found my motorcycle gone, and my car was broke into in three different places (Antitheft device) and destroyed. Later that day my car was stolen. I was very furious with the office and said Im not paying for this ($75.00 a month)garage any more. The manager said, "it is not my fault you still have to pay." I mentioned I heard from surrounding neighbors that a lot of cars have been broken into. I let the office know of what I heard and the property manager said, "You do not need to worry about other people only your self." Now, recently in Jan 2006 a car alarm was going off from 3am till 9am, and no one in the complex complained of the noise which leads me to believe that no one cares and crime will continue. If you would like your car insurance premium to increase because of theft or vandalism, I RECOMMED these apartments. I was later told that my car has been the only one ever violated and that I was crazy. That obviously is not case. I'm glad that I have read the other reports.

                          A Miserable Place to Live

                          WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE LIVES HERE, FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY AND SANITY. The grounds and hallways are ridden with clutter, cigarette butts, broken beer bottles, and pet feces. The use of purple lights have been reported to management. Do these possible marijuana growing lights or hydroponic lights conform with safety and fire code, or are other residents being endangered? Marijuana use has been noted on property. Our vehicle sustained damages with an attempted break and enter. Within days several garages were broken into. We were told by the attending police officer that these same issues had not been reported by management. The management is extremely rude and non-professional. They do not attend to complaints. PLEASE INQUIRE IF THIS COMPLEX IS SECTION 8, SUBSIDIZED HOUSING, PRIOR TO RENTING AS IT IS NOT SAFE. We rented a unit in a supposed 'Gated Community.' With the far gates being left open for several months, this 'IS NOT A GATED COMMUNITY.' This is deceptively advertised to all tenants that rent in this community.

                            I'm outta here

                            I agree with most of the comments here-- I'm currently a resident, and ready for my lease to expire. I signed a year, and in that time, have had 2 requests from maintenance, 1 major (leaking from upstairs jacuzzi tub) that flowed into my apartment. It took over a week for a response. Not to mention the rent is VERY high, it's hard to find a close parking spot, and there are a ton of kids. I'm not angry at the apartment, but there are apartments in the area that you can rent and save over $400 a month. I am moving there.

                              Just thought everyone who is potentially thinking about moving to this dump should know that there was a drug bust here yesterday and this past weekend 5 cars were broken into.                                 The latest and greatest comment had to have been written by a staff person. Read on to view the "real life" experiences at the Villas of Highpointe. This place is a joke! Staff is rude, crude and unprofessional. I did actully live there from day 1 and regret the day I ever moved there. TRASH CITY. How could you not meet "picketers" on the sidewalk - give me a break. I'm not sure what you and the staff are trying to pull, but I am making sure that anyone I come in contact with knows the true story of this property. Example: black mold (yes, within a year), dog crap, floors coming up, flooding at your front door (told to stand in line when you complain), speeding cars in the parking lot, leaking windows when it rains, unrelentless noise, cops frequently there, gates don't work half the time and very nasty office staff who treat their good residents like riffraff (I guess they are used to the residents being that way so you get treated like the rest of them). DO NOT MOVE HERE-YOU WILL REGRET IT. And don't believe the staff - they are all liars and thiefs (ask about how many packages disappear from their "locked" room".

                                  I have lived in this complex since it was built and I love it. The ground can get messy with waste from the pets but that is the responsibility of the pet owners. I have never had a maintenance issue, so I cannot report that thier performance is slow. My neighbors all seem happy with the accomodations. I have yet to have met one of these complainers

                                    HORRIBLE PLACE!!!

                                    DO NOT MOVE HERE! They never fix anything. The office will not return calls no matter how many messages you leave. Yet they do call when they want something from you! They back gate is rammed in and has been for months. They constantly send out letter of people owing money when you've paid them. They need to get the manager and the staff out of there! There were picketters out front....my god what next! Ithe place has been open for over a year and still isn't finished. There are huge boulders in odd places and just looks stupid. I will not recommend this place.

                                      DO NOT MOVE HERE!

                                      I know most people that read these reviews are looking for a place to live and want to get an idea of what the complex is like that they are considering moving into. Let me be one of the many many residents to warn you: DO NOT MOVE HERE!<br>Yesterday on my way home from work there was a family standing outside the complex holding "DO NOT MOVE HERE" signs and "THEY DO NOT LISTEN" protesting outside of the leasing office. Most people that live here are on government assistance and drive crappy cars that just sit in the same spot for weeks on end leaking oil. This must be the first experience in leasing for the staff that works here because none of them know what they are doing. They are not nice and do not care what your problem might be. There are always police here for something. They don't clean the pool. There is dog poop everywhere as well as cigarette butts. As soon as my lease is up I am gone. Please take my word for it. I am not an angry tenant out for revenge...I am a tenant that is hoping to save any future tenants that misery and embarassment that goes along with living here.

                                        RUN FOR YOUR LIFE

                                        This place is the worst!!! DO NOT LEASE HERE. They jack-up your rent sky high as soon as your lease is up and it is clearly not worth it. The office staff is rude, they do not return phones calls, no matter how many times you personally walk in the office and leave it with the front desk (who is a ditz). They have all kinds of excuses for the problems. The construction is piss poor. How about having a bathroom the door doesn't open all the way because it bangs into the commode! Yeah - that's impression to company! I can't wait to get the HELL OUT OF THERE. It is nothing but a bunch of young kids that have NO RESPECT for anything or anyone. Also, beware of the INDY 500 raceway in the back of the property. I've complained, but they inform me they have no intention of putting in speed bumps - so hang on to your pets and children when walking to your car. I wish I would have never moved it and regret it everyday I go home. Good luck with parking too - several one bedroom tenants have at least 3-4 vehicles. You are forced to rent a garage so that you can park near your front door. Of course the remote doesn't work - but at least you can park closer. ------ ------ ------ - LEASE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

                                            Be careful

                                            My husband and I have lived here since October of 2004. In the beginning we enjoyed living here. That opinion is no longer accurate. We moved in to a "dirty unfinished apartment". Weather stripping was not put on until the 3rd week we lived here, then it was the wrong stripping. We didn't mind that and thought this is what may happen in new construction. We were still happy considering the money we are spending on nice amenities. Then everything quickly went down hill. When we tried to rent out the club house for a small party, we were informed that they will no longer rent it out. Why have one if you won't rent it out? Don't punish everyone because one person trashed it, isn't that why you ask for a deposit. That comes close to "false advertisement". They should not advertise it to new residents. We live in the back, so it is somewhat quiet, but the grounds are the worst I have seen anywhere. There is a pile of paper and cigarette butts out side my door for over a week now, We don't smoke and it's obvious no one cleans up. We are emabarred to have friends and family drop by because there is trash all over the yards. We are constantley sweeping if we know friends and family will come by. There was a problem with residents putting out their trash after the morning deadline but that doesnt seem to occur, however they don't pick up the trash until the afternoon on certain days. Why have a time limit if you won't pick it up. I'm sure people love to see trash on the sidewalks when they come to look. Now there is a problem with ants, but that is largely due to new contruction on what used to be a vacant field. Please be careful when thinking about moving here. The apartments look nice, but you won't be completely satisfied. I here people say your renting so don't expect much, however I think of it as I am renting from you instead of from someone else, I deserve what I am paying for. When I was in my home I new the problems would be my responsibility. Since I will never see this rent money again, we deserve to have manicured clean lawns, no trash on the sidewalks past 10am, and the other amenities promised when we chose to live here.

                                              This place is horrid

                                              This has got to the worst place I've ever lived at. The grounds are unkept. No one picks up anything. The same pile of dirt that was here several months ago when I moved is still there. At one time there were fish living in one of the parking lot islands! The management says you can't rent the clubhouse, but yet last weekend there was a HUGE party until 2am! It seems no one cares about anything, just worrying about leasing all the units. They will never fill up because once leases start expiring, everyone will be moving out. Before they worry about renting, they should take care of the ones who live here. It is embarassing to tell someone you live in a brand new property and when they come over their is paper, trash and cigarette butts all over the place. Talk about looking like a trailer park. It makes you wonder why all the staff are leaving. They say they are going to clean out the riff-raft, they I don't see anything changing. I regret moving here. The parking is awful - you have some living in one bedrooms, but they have 3 cars!!!

                                                  Wicked Witch Kara is gone...but still ------

                                                  There is a new manager in charge now since Kara is gone. I believe she had a problem with African American people everytime I go into the office she had a bad look over her face, and would talk to you like you were beneath her. Little does she know I have a four year degree, something she wish she had. I'm glad she is gone YEAH! The people that live above us is so disrespectful and noisy, and we pay over $1,000 in rent but there is people who pay 755.00 for the same floorplan. This is not right, I'm glad when our lease is up.
