Mixed emotions
I lived here 1 year. Pros: *Garden tubs, wood floors (no carpet), garnite tops, side by side fridge, VERY nice management, cool layout, built in computer desk and book shelves, extra storage Cons: * You pay for the pros, kiddos playing in the parking lot, bc of wood floors can you can hear every step the ppl above you make & neighbors complain if you are too loud(recommend 1st floor or 3rd floor)

Good and bad. This place has both. Hopefully informative.
I have lived here for about a year and a 1/2 and will be moving out in a few months due to an unavoidable financial situation. I have mixed emotions about leaving. The Good: - Trash pick up is convenient. - The grounds are nice to look at for the most part. - The apartments are beautiful. The granite countertops are nice. The laminate floors are easy to clean and look nice. The side-by-side fridge with the ice in the door is beyond wonderful and the garden/jacuzzi tub is great. - Parking has NEVER been a problem. I live near the back entrance near the outer wall and there are always 20 spots to choose from day or night. The Bad: - The walls are CRAZY thin. You can hear every word of every conversation held within 50 feet of your apt and if you live above a garage the entire apartment shakes when the garage doors open or close. - Kids are ALWAYS playing in the parking lot which not only is noisy but destructive to the property as well. - The gym is only open during office hours. I don't know many people that work normal hours able to get to the gym between 8:30am and 5:30pm. - As others have stated, several tenants don't seem to pay attention to the trash pick up rules and put their garbage on the curb 2 days before the next pick up. - The gates are extremely inconvenient for guests and they really don't do anything for security as you can tailgate someone in just about any time day or night. Overall this complex has the same problems as just about any other complex I've lived in. I personally am willing to put up with it for such a beautiful apartment. I had some issues with an extremely rude office employee at the beginning but that person is now gone and the staff is not bad overall. I wouldn't steer someone away from this place but I wouldn't necessarily drive them towards it either. :-/ Good luck in your apartment hunting.

When you need a place to stay
I would recommend this to anyone who likes, wood flooring, and granite countertops, and a safe place to come home to. I have never had any problems as stated in some of the negitive comments made; however everyone has the right to their own personal experiences. If I were a interested client I would ask for references to those who are current residents of the community, they offer curb side trash pick up which prevents those of us who do not wish to walk to the dumpster and drop if off ourselves can have someone else do the harder labor, there are times when we have to blame our neighbors for not following the simple rules of life which is respect, integrity of all humans beings, that being said, you will find that some renters do not obey the rules which I have found the same at work, and driving and in all everyday life works, --Over-all the community tries to make up for those who did not get the proper introduction into life by their parents or foster parents and to the parents who should have trained their now grown adults to act better, and more respectful are probably the same people who have road rage. To the potential renter I have lived in bad and better communities, and I would say this is the better if not greater places to live here.

DO NOT MOVE HERE
I have lived here for about 8 months and I will def be moving out ASAP! People are always leaving their trash out on non trash days, and when I call the office and tell them I see rats getting into it and to see if they will come pick it up... they tell you yes, but never do! The foundation is so bad that you can't keep ants out b/c they are in the walls. BTW... This place is ------!!!!!! I have had stuff stolen from my patio.. really???? I have lived on the 1st floor before, but never has this been a problem. Oh, and we have not had a working front gate for a while now.... SUCH A SAFE PLACE. BAH HA HA HA HA these apts can kiss my ---! BTW I usually have to call them 3 or 4 times before they come fix something.

Lovely Place to live
As you all know there are many communities to chose from. With that said I would chose this community. The Amentities this community has is wonderful and even at the price they are asking. You can not get the whole package anywhere else. That also includes the staff. They are very friendly and helpful. I feel you will have issues no matter where you live. Something or someone will always upset somebody. Maybe we should all look at the good things in life and quit finding things to gripe about. I totally love it here and will spread the good news to anyone looking for a place to live.

The Good, The Bad and The FUGLY
I just moved out of these apartments soon after the management changed....AGAIN!! There has been 3 or 4 changes in management in the 2 years I was there and all have been terrible! There's no use in putting in a maintenance request, it's faster to fix it yourself. They sell you on the garden jet tub and marble countertops, but they fail to tell you about how the police are constantly there because of fights, drugs and theft! There were beer bottles, trash and dog crap everywhere and despite numerous warnings stuck to doors, the management NEVER did anything about it. Kids broke my windsheild playing ball IN THE PARKING LOT, when I came out, of course noone would admit it and no parents in sight! The management took a "Sorry, nothing we can do" defense. Another reason the police came. Parking is horrific in the back of the complex and when the gate is not broken(rarely), your clicker-thing wont work! I would not recommend this complex.

lots of thieves live here now
I'm so revolted that I had to write this review. I've lived here for 5 years and every year it gets worse the quality of people that live here. I just came home with groceries from Walmart and tried to carry upstairs a 24 pack of bottled water. I left on top of a railing by the stairs so I could come back to get it, while I went to the car and upstairs with my groceries, my lovely neighbors stole a $3.49 pack of water. It's gone! I've also had my new bike stolen a few months ago and so did my neighbor. That's the kind of neighborhood you'll be in if you move here. The apartments look great, but they are falling apart with foundation problems. You can also hear every time your neighbor upstairs walk anywhere in the apartment. No sound isolation at all. I can deal with anything else, but I can't tolerate living with thieves.

Do NOT move here!
When we came to look at these apartments the office and model apartment were so pretty, and the price was great so we signed our lease. We should have went into the apartments and looked first because they are ------!! There is screaming kids everywhere, I can't even go into my apartment without stepping over food, trash, kids toys, dog poop, and tons of other stuff. They are gross. I turned in a simple request to fix some things in December, they finally came in Feb, and lost my keys while there. I turned in a second on Feb 14... it's March 17th and I've called 30 times since then, and still no one has came. The apartment leasing people are so rude, and it gives me a headache to even talk to them. The wood floors are cheap, and when it gets warm out, the whole apt. smells like mold. We live on the back side, and we have a great view of trash, and dumped couches. The gates never work, there will be 10 people in line for 20 minutes until a car comes out to open the gate. I made the mistake of signing a lease here, and I can't move until September, don't make the same mistake!

Mira Vista is the pits
I live here now and cannot wait to move. They hardword is laminate. When you clean it with water, it starts to lift. You can hear EVERY since thing going on above you. "Relations", walking, moving about...so very annoying. The walls are thin! I've had to have my doors shaved down in multiple areas because the foundation keeps shifting. The air vent in my living area has mold growing out of it. They had the nerve to charge me over $1100.00 for rent, when currently they are leasing for $850.00 and some might say for what you get...that is too high. I can't believe how much money they have spent on that little bitty pool area. The sidewalks and stairs are horribly stained and the gates work intermittently. I can hear the cars wit the booming systems coming through frequently. The management will be sitting in their offices and ignore the phone when you call. I'm just not pleased, I thought I'd be there for a while but when my lease is up, I'm outta here.

I use to live at this complex.. Lived there for 2 yrs and saw about 5 different managers come thru. The apartments are very preety. Built iam here to tell you the complex is cheaply constructed. If u live on the 1st or 2nd follows be prepared to hear the tenants about you. You will know when someone is washing clothing, running the dish washer, using their garden tubs"jet" and when they are having late nite adult fun.. I use to live below some bunny rabbits so i can personally vouch on hearing all this stuff. Also during the time i stayed there the company had to fix my air conditioner 4 times which i thought wasa bit much since it was a new property and i was the first to live in my unit. I only moved when the rent went up from 805 a month to 1105 at time of renewal.

Nice Apartments But Terrible Maintenance
Apartments are nice and spacious. Large master bathroom, hard wood floors a plus. Never had any major safety issues or vehicle damage or theft or anything like that. So I would say its relatively safe. However, area is not very nice. The lobby of the apartment complex is like a day care for juveniles to run wild on the ammenities. Although, the office staff does their best to crack down on it, it's still an issue. Their maintenance staff is the biggest piss poor excuse I have ever seen for maintenance. Living there I have become a full time master carpenter by night. Really, I mean you gotta fix everything yourself and it wasn't just my apartment, neighbors have had issues as well. If something is broken don't expect it to be fixed anytime soon; unless its a major issue and you relentlessly complain. If your not Bob Vila good luck. The grounds are unkempt to an extent that they look clean with a first glance. Until you live there and cant avoid the countless piles of dog ---- everywhere. The bushes and shrubs surrounding walk ways are over grown in some areas to the point where they are blocking the entire walk way. Which is rough when it rains and you cant get into your apartment without rubbing up against a wet bush. Gated community what a joke that is. 50% of the time I have lived there the gates have been broken and wide open or people that are on foot slide them open by hand. The grounds crew and construction is ridiculous in choosing times to do noisy loud construction. I am a very heavy sleeper and was woken up at 8:30 am the other day to a maintenance crew banging and knocking on doors and walls and it was non stop for the next two hours. Then they were done. But why wouldn't you wait til noon or so to do the loud noisy construction. Why not when most people are definitely up? Not 8:30 am. Maybe noon or so. It just shows you the complete disregard and ignorance of the Community as a whole in every aspect. And there are many other specific instances I could bring up but am tired of rambling. Overall the apartments are very nice, and the residents are as well. Not a bad place to live, but the apartment complex needs to do a better job overall.

Wonderful Staff, Questionable Tenants
I moved to Mira Vista Ranch in September of 2008. My initial reaction of the property was quite good. The apartments are very nice with hardwood floors and granite countertops that can be difficult to find in my price range. Their fitness center is very nice and on the few occasions that I've used it everything has been in working condition. I can't say enough about the staff as they have gone above and beyond my expectations on several occasions. I can truly say they are great people that take into considerations the needs of their tenants. Unfortunately, this is where the positive factors end. Noise within the complex is ridiculous. I realize it s an apartment complex and some noise is to be expected, but listening to my neighbors at 3 in the morning having a shouting match in the hallway is totally unacceptable. As is with most apartments, the walls are thin, so expect to hear about what your neighbor s boyfriend did that ticked her off. As for the parking situation, what parking? The parking here is atrocious, obviously this isn't something that the staff can easily fix; however, coordinating grocery shopping trips with a time in which you think you can get a close spot to unload grocery's has become a weekly task. Assume by 7pm that you'll be getting some exercise walking from your car to your front door. Countless notices have been left for all tenants regarding unattended children. Everyday I drive through an obstacle course of kids skateboarding in the parking lots. I don't particularly care about the skateboarding but it would be nice if parents were present and aware of their children s whereabouts and activities. Just two weeks ago, a group of kids attempted to skateboard down two flights of stairs, no parents in sight. I do intend to find a new residence when my lease is up and though the things I've mentioned are not pleasant, the worst is the safety issue. Lighting is extremely poor in the complex and since parking is also difficult I am often forced to walk through dark lawns and parking lots to reach my apartment. Also, some of the other tenants seem to be somewhat questionable and make me feel uneasy about walking my dog alone. I realize my negative comments regarding this complex may induce comments about being racist, dirty, old, rude, etc. I was hoping for a different experience with this complex and unfortunately, my expectations for a clean, safe, and quiet complex were not met. I hope those that read this will take me comments with a grain of salt as everyone's experience is different and though I didn't find what I was looking for, perhaps they would.

MIRA VISTA isnt all that it is cracked up to be...
I live in Mira Vista now as we speak. What you are reading is true. All the money they spent was on the decorations. You can see that when you first pull up. the office (outside) has been re-painted but everywhere the color is still the same. Nothing matches at Mira Vista. When I first moved to Villas of highpointe it was very plain. Now they have added all this color and decoration to the pool and office. That's it the pool and office! The apts are still s**t and the hardwood is not all that it is cracked up to be. We have only been living here a year and the rent has increased by 30.00 dollars. Now to some that may not be alot but when your rent is already in the high 900's 30.00 is alot. Dont let the glamour of the outside fool you. We have had so many problems here its not even funny. The staff at the office is weird. They look at you like you have problems and take forever to get to you. I havent been in the new office or fitness center or buisness center so i cant comment on those but as far as everything else... DONT MOVE HERE!!! The gates work when they want. People always break them. They have dog stations here but people still dont pick up after there dog. Its up to you if you choose to move here or not. im just telling you what I go through and I am a resident.

Another "DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME!"
I lived here for only ten months and had to sue in order to get out of my lease. The place is a construction nightmare. We had raw sewage backing up, shifting doors and floors, cracks in the walls, etc. And then, to add more sorrow, we had the "Manager from Hell" - Debra Wheeler. After she ignored numerous complaints, I, my wife, daughter and her best friends picketed across the street. Ms. Wheeler was completely ignorant of the 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, so she called the Lewisville Police more than fifteen times. Each time they came out, they saw what we were doing and left. But that didn't stop her from continuing to waste the taxpayer's money. She finally use her connection to a local J-P (who shall remain un-named at this time) to have my wife falsely arrested on Labor Day 2005 for "wreckless driving." The Denton County DA (Bruce Isaacson) dropped the charges as soon as he saw them. However, it cost me more than $300 to get her out. Finally, I would warn anyone about living here because even the owner, Mr. Shaw, is someone you shouod avoid at all costs!!!

Don't Waste Your Time Here
This is absolutely the WORST place I've ever lived in. My lease is up in a couple of months & I can't wait to get out of here. The parking is terrible, its like I have to hurry home to get a descent parking spot. The walls are way too thin, & now out of the clear blue sky I'm having ongoing pest problems. When I put in a request to have my apt treated my request somehow continues to keep getting overlooked. I've lived in the hood before, but it was even better than this place. My remote to the gates works when it wants to. I tried going to get another one, but they had the nerve to tell me it would cost $50....what kind of mess is that!!!!!!!!! I stay in a small 2bed/2bath & the apartment is not worth the $825 I pay. I've lived in the Lewisville/Flower Mound area since my daughter was very young (she's now 16) & this is without a doubt the absolute the worst place I've ever stayed. No one could pay me to stay here, not even one day after my lease is up. I am looking forward to the day I tell these people....PEACE OUT & throw up the deuce sign. I warn anyone thats looking for a place to steer clear from this place.

It is good, but has negative at times.
These apartments are nice but the management sucks. I have been waiting for something to be fixed since December. The walls are thin so you hear everthing from sex to fights. Also, I get nats in apartment all of the time and I don't keep trash or fruit out. All in all, I would live hear again, but just wanted to share things I did not like about it.

well im sitting in there new computer lab, with a camera over my shoulder. these apartments are awlful. im 16, and i hate this place. they decided to use our rent money on decoration. yes, they put trees all around the pool. these trees had flowers all over them. my first day at the pool after these so called "decorations" i got stinged about 4 times. Theres this one guy who works here who is all ways getting on my nerves. He tells me to leave and what to do. The parking sucks, i have to park in front of the office, which is about a 5 min walk from my house. The rent has gon insane, i pay $745 for a small one bedroom. They pretty much raised it 100 or so dollars. they made the office alot nicer, but thats all. the gutter on my building fell about 3 months ago, all they did was make sure it was off. i still have seen no new gutter. They expect us to pay 25 dollars for new remotes to get in and out of stuff. thats just for one, and sometimes it doesnt even work. they lead maintence guys kids tear up everything and when i say everything i mean it. the new stools in the lab are already broken, they broke about 2 pool sticks already. they have one garbage dumpster here, until they decided to get a new one, which they put about 50 ft from the other one. and i live on the whole other side of the apartments. i dont think theres a hot tub anymore. they did some construction on it and now it looks like a fountain. theres only one nice guy who works here and hes the least one you'd expect. if you ever visit ask for the black gay one. this place is lame, even by my standards and my standards are pretty low.

Getting Out of Da' Hood
Our stay here at Mira Vista Ranch has been similar to watching a person start experimenting drugs and watching them slip all the way to rock bottom. Since moving to the complex after it first opened, it has seen its share of apartment management, Section 8 Housing, and delinquents. Don't let the nice architecture and hard wood floors inside the buildings fool you. Most of the "tenants" and I use the word loosely, (most of them only go outside to collect their check), like to leave their trash outside their door. The complex offers curb side trash pick up but I guess that would be considered work, and their welfare checks would get canceled. The children in the book "The Lord Of The Flies" were more controlled and less destructive than the bundles of joy these people have produced. The hang out by the fence and throw rocks and bricks at passing motorists, when they aren't throwing them at the cars parked in the parking lot. Oh the rocks and bricks? They are provided by the management from the construction being done around the complex. One resident has had a car on jacks with a busted out rear windshield for over a month, and just keeps tearing the towing warnings off his car. We truly hope you love rap music and heavy bass, it is the main music you will hear at the wee hours of the morning. Oh and have a great tire repair plan. Most mornings you will find broken glass scattered around the parking lot, or on your car. If you have an aversion to dogs, well then this isn't the place. There are children walking around with pit bulls, and be careful, they tend to get off of their leashes. These items have been brought to the attention of the management but they are either unmoved to act or have no idea what to do. Half the time when you go to make a complaint they just stare at you like English isn't their language. Lets talk amenities. There is the beautiful smell of marijuana smoke through the hallways, the fitness center that is only open during business hours because of the vandalism done by the darling children on the property. If you work an 8 to 5 job then you will never make it to the fitness center because it is closed. The pool finally opened after an almost 2 year hiatus, and the gates? well they are mostly for show. Even when they are closed, the pedestrian gate doesn't even have lock on it. Management doesn't even have a clue. Plan to enjoy having the staff all living on the complex. The men left to keep this place running, let their kids have the run of the work shed where there is a big sign saying "Danger Chemical Storage Area", oh yeah and they are unsupervised. We had Verizon Fios workers come through here to install fiber optics, they pulled everything out of the closet, threw it on the bed, and then left a mess where they worked. At least they left a notice of them coming in. Over Memorial Day weekend they decided to change all the numbers on the door. I wasn't aware that it required them coming into the apartment. My girlfriend had the day off and was sleeping in when our dog went ape S**T barking at the door and made a defensive growl because someone was tampering with the door lock. After talking to several of our neighbors they all verified our story and confirmed that these guys were entering the apartments, and there was no notice. For what they charge in rent, the place should be better. They say the market value is $845 a month for what we live in, but in all honesty with all that we have had to put up with, you couldn't pay us to live here any longer. Be sure to get the management to sign a copy of your letter of move out, or they will send you a renewal notice with less than 48 hours to make a decision. Ironically, we put in a written notice and two weeks later we got a second renewal notice giving us a higher rate than the first one. We had to have them sign a copy of our move out notice so that it is on file. Frankly, this place was like Rome burning and the management staff is Nero. Anyone moving in here after reading this deserves all of it.

office personal is the worst (4)
i lived here and moved due to the rudeness of the office staff!!!! if the owners care anything about their business and how it is being ran thay would stop by sometime without letting anyone know and he will see how his business is ran. and this would likely have him change the staff out immediately especially in the office. the old lady re:mgr always yelling at someone on the phone she needs to calm it down everyone has a bad day but not every day she should stay home.

I visited the office today to find out that the property sold and the old staff is no longer there. Im really upset to see the office staff has changed. Rent Prices Goin UP
My neighbor of 2 and half yrs is moving out.. Come to find out since the new company took over they are raising the cost of the rent for folks at time of renewal. For a 2bedroom 2 bath rent was goin anywhere from $800 to $975 a month. When they considered to renew their lease the new office staff told them the new rent was gonna go up to 1400 a month for the same apartment. If they plan to keep this property filled it won't make it at the rates they are tring to charge at renewal. I personally am gonna move out when my lease is up its not worth the major increase in rent cost. I know the knew company made promises that they are going to redo the pool, fitness areas and the landscapeing. Which is all good.. but that drastic of an increase is not good for this community.. There are folks that have been here since this complex opened.. They will be forced out as well. Which is a shame. The new maintenance staff takes along time to respond to request. I put in a request 2 weeks ago. Maintenance came to the apartment said they needed to pick up the part Which to this day has yet to be installed. Each time i have gone to the office the new staff are on break, talkin on cellphone, or in the club house eatting. I don't see the need for 4 people to be on duty each day in that office. Guess since the rent is goin up we makin up the extra salaries. Curious to know when they gonna have a introduction of new management for the tenants.

Just noisey but thats it..
I have lived here for 6 months and my lease is up in December. I am moving away because of my fiance getting a job elsewhere, not because of the apartment. My biggest compaint is that the apartments are noisey. There are a lot of kids but from what I've seen, it seems as though they are all living in building 6 with me! But they do alot of screaming and running up and down the halls and banging on the neighbors doors to get their friends. Also the girl that lives below me has a dog that cries all day and I can hear that too. But I'm sure that is to be expected. I do agree that the management could be a little nicer. Overall though I do like eveyone in the office expect the actual manager, she is very snooty. Just don't deal with her and you wont have a problem.
