Short Stay
I moved to Portland from Corpus Christi and was very happy with my choice. Much quieter setting from city and apartment life in Corpus. I just bought a home here in Portland, but if I ever needed an apartment again, I'd definitely return. Loved the staff and atmosphere.

Great first apartment
When my husband was stationed here, I quickly fell in love with this little town. Being so close to Walmart when we were moving in was a huge help. Everyone in the office is very very nice and extremely caring. Maintanence was always a little slow, but always arrived the same day we asked. There was a bit of a problem with doggy poo outside, but management took care of it quickly. Really, the only problem I had that wasn't address was the lack of lighting in the back of the parking lot. Whenever I worked late, it would be very dark and it was hard to see until I got closer to the building. I was always worried someone would be there, but since the community is gated, I suppose I shouldn't have been so paranoid. The A/C unit is a bit loud, and the lights from outside cut right through the blinds, but the latter can easily be fixed with curtains. Sometimes I could hear my upstairs neighbor vacumming, or could hear the bass from their tv, but nothing too distracting. A very pet friendly place as well. I'm going to miss it.

Horrible!
If you like noisy neighbors, noncaring managers, paper thin upstairs floors, roaches, ticks, and fleas then this is the place for you. My apartment was filthy when I moved in and I had to stop and clean the place before I could put things up. May I suggest if you just have to live here get an upstairs apartment. It is too noisy on the bottom. Very cheaply built for the money you are charged to live here. I have lived in numerous apartments and this is the worse by far.

It's a nice place but be careful...
I've lived here for a few years and everything has been fine. Not much problems and everyone is friendly. The only problem I have is that I was told our rent checks wouldn't be cashed until after the 1st of every month. I believed them and for the last couple years of being here given them their checks before the 1st so I wouldn't forget. This past month I realized what a bad mistake trusting them on that was. Our check bounced for the very first time because they decided to cash it before the 1st of the month. I do like it here but I am very annoyed that I was given false information and I will make sure to never give them a check before the 1st.

RECOMMEND APARTMENTS TO EVERYONE
I recommend these apartments to anyone who is shopping for their new "home". Just a short drive from Corpus...Portland is such a peaceful and friendly community. This apartment has all the best essentials; which include the spacious floor plans, clean exterior and interior appearance, great parking, gated community, garage access and the BEST STAFF. If you want an apartment complex with a staff that will deliver your every need; this is the place for you. To simply state it "You get what you pay for"...you want a nice, safe and friendly community then you have come to the right place, but if you are shopping for the cheapest price in living...well move on! Knowing that my property and personal self is well taken care of is more important to me and I am sure the majority of the "better" quality shopper will agree. I actually intend on moving back while my home is finalizing construction.

great!
I was relocated from Florida to the Portland area by the Navy. I leased over the phone due to the quick move. I was nervous but decided that this would be the nicest place from the looks of the online pictures. The day I arrived I was NOT disappointed. The apartments were beautiful and the staff was friendly and excited to finally meet me. I leased a one bedroom and was pleased with the size of the apartment. The neighbors are friendly but not too into my business. The complex is gated, so I felt comfortable leaving my wife and new baby alone when I would go out of town. I am now being relocated to San Diego and can only hope I'll find an apartment near as nice. We will miss this place and have plans to return to the Portland area after I retire from the Navy.

Great Place to Live!
My husband and I moved to the Portland area about 9 months ago. We didn't know much about the Portland area, so we were skeptical about the apartments here. After viewing a few places, we came across The Pavilions at North Shore and North Shore Landing. I must say that these are the NICEST places in Portland. We chose to live at the Pavilions because of the larger floor plan. Our apartment was just as promised when we moved in. It was clean and the carpets were clean. Since living here the office staff has been great. They have helped us out and are so friendly when get packages from the office. Sometimes when my husband is out of town I'll just drop by to visit. The maintenance staff is good too. They are quick to fix any problems and are very kind. Overall this is a great place! The entire complex is beautiful and the residents are sweet. We have had no noise problems and have gotten to meet a lot of people. We have thought about buying a house but would find it hard to leave. I highly recommend this apartment.

Very Good Place to Live
When my husband and I relocated here from CA we chose Pavilions because of how new they were compared to the other local apartments. We arrived to a fairly clean apartment (only complaint was lighting but was fixed) but though the 2/2 floorplan was a bit odd in the design it is do-able. All in all the grounds were kept clean and maintained, parking was not assigned so was adequate enough for tenants and maintenance was done fairly quickly. When we were doing the lease the staff was very kind, helpful and made sure we understood fully what we were signing and how to go about with requesting help with any problems we would experience. They are always willing to help when a situation arises and try to work with you the best they can to get things resolved. The neighbors we had in our complex, though keeping to themselves, were very kind when we would run into them heading out or in and most of them liked to chat to get to know the neighbors so that was a plus. Maintenance usually does jobs in mornings or early afternoon so that is bout the only time theres any sort of noise while nighttime rarely brings any sort of noise with the exception of cars going in and out. Monthly newsletters are posted on doors to keep tenants up to date on things and pets are required to be on leashes. Enjoyed living here. =)

Not As Expected
When I first looked at North Shore Landing, I was hardly given the time of day. Of course, I had many questions. The young man showing the apts. seemed put- out to have to show the property. The apartment itself was nice, although the bedrooms were too small for my large furniture. Overall, my impression was too much money for what the apartment offers. I am not one who wants a Country Club membership, which is included in the price of your apartment. I would look elsewhere because the apartments are really not very big.

Very disappointed
I was very excited to move into the Pavilions because they were new and the grounds were kept very nicely. What you don't know until you move in is how loud the a/c unit is, you can hear every step your upstairs neighbor make as well as their tv, washing machine..etc, and how un-family friendly the complex really is. Although the grounds were kept very nicely, they could of done away with half the maintenance and still have the same results. The grounds keepers were there way too often creating a lot of noise all day. It was impossible to work from home or put a baby to sleep on the days the grounds keepers were there. Office personnel are very friendly, but are unprofessional when it comes to decision making, problem solving and taking care of business. The layout of the apartment is awkward because the huge walk-in closet is connected to the smaller bedroom. The master bedroom has a very small closet. The apartment itself was beautiful. I do not recommend the Pavilions.

Good apartment, decent location
Definitely the best apartments in Portland, which isn't saying much. Nothing special, but a very good quality apartment complex. My only complaint was that the a/c was very loud (and in south Texas, that matters). Only about 15 minutes from NS Ingleside.

The nicest apartments in Portland
These apartments aren't perfect, but they are the nicest in the area by far. Inside they are great - no smells, nice tile, high ceilings, looks like new. If you have kids these may not be for you as they are a little small for the price. You are paying for the quality, but it may not be the best family atmosphere. Great for couples and singles. Very pet-friendly. Maintenance generally gets done the job done and most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. It's in a great location by the highway but still far enough away that you can't hear the traffic. Part of the nicest neighborhood in Portland. My only complaints: sometimes you can hear the neighbors - but that's apartment life. Also, the grounds need to be better maintained and landscaped - but that has improved over the last year. Check out the new apartments next door owned by the same company - North Shore Pavilions. They are brand new and just as nice - a little pricey and also not for families. Overall - I'll be sad to leave here!

Great!
We've been living here for a few months and we love. We just got married and it is the perfect home to come home to. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Plenty of spaces to park. Apartments are beautiful. There are only 1 and 2 bedrooms apartments, so I wouldn't reccomend these if you have a family. Also, they are very pet friendly. I do not feel that they are overpriced because they are a great country club area and they are the nicest apartments in the city. The landscaping in the front is great, but they don't really keep up with the plants in the back (the residents do)- which is good if you want your own garden, but some areas look sparse. There is a large courtyard area for dogs which is cut weekly.

Decent
Lived there in 2002/2003. Nice apartments, very nice kitchens. Carpet wasn't in the nicest condition when I moved in. Nice community, but apartments are small and overpriced. I would recommend for a single person or couple only based on size.
