UPDATE: August 18, 2012 I have now been living at the Meridian at Eisenhower for almost a year. I had to log-in to change my review, however, because I found out that the management company is actually treating our apartment building like a hotel and renting rooms to people on a nightly basis. One of the reasons we moved here was because of the safety factor, and now I find out that there is a room on my floor that is being rented out to God knows who like a cheap hotel. I did not agree to live in a hotel where random people would be coming in and out at all times. WE have already had a few of this people disturb us by being drunk and loud in the hallway a few weeks ago. They stood in the elevator door and wouldn't let us go up to our apartment, then stepped on my dog as they were stumbling around because they didn't know how to get the elevator to work (as they don't live here and undoubtedly hadn't been educated on the use of the fob). FAIL Paradigm. FAIL. This is the most ridiculous way to run an apartment building that I have ever heard of or dealt with... I don't pay this much money to live in a hotel. ___________________________ I have been living at the Meridian for about six months. I live on the corner of the building, so I have a view of the Masonic Temple and the metro tracks from my living room, and the apartment building next door from my bedroom. I CAN hear the metro, but it is certainly not bad enough to constantly complain like a lot of people on this site... You want the convenience of living near the metro, you are going to hear the metro. I can hear the occasional noise through the walls, but nothing worse than any other apartment building. The closet space in my apartment is great. We have two closets in the living room near the entry-way, and a HUGE walk-in closet that connects the bedroom to the bathroom. The closet space was one of the reasons why we moved here. We have only had a few "maintenance" issues, but the staff was great and everything was fixed within a day or two. They even re-arranged all of the shelving in the closet when we moved in to better suit our preferences. Our electric bill has never been over $55. We haven't even turned on the heat and it is January 23rd. I have always felt safe in this area. People are pretty scarce on the weekends, but I prefer it because it is quiet... The federal courthouse and the PTO are right down the street, so security is never an issue. They also require a fob to get in the building and on your floor. (Ignore the reviews about the people who can't get the button to work. It takes a tenth of a second for it to read your fob, so they are just being impatient and trying to hit the button a fraction of a second too early.) I did have problems getting into the parking garage until we realized that the battery was almost dead in our clicker. Management gave us a new one that day... Finding a parking spot is never an issue... There are multiple levels for parking. If you have a pet, this is a GREAT building. There is a $30 a month pet fee, but that is pretty standard around here... The staff love the animals and are very friendly. There is a large grassy area across the street, but we usually go to the back of the building to avoid crossing Eisenhower Ave. There is also a great dog park 5-10 minutes walking distance. All of the dogs/owners at the park are great. I have never seen any dogs have "accidents" in the building and most pet owners (with the exception of a few idiots) are very polite when it comes to their dog's interactions with other people.

    Awkward

I lived on an upper floor facing the Carlyle, so my view consisted of looking at my neighbors across the street looking back at me. The metro was loud between the sound of tracks vibrating the building and honking upon entering and exiting the tunnel under Duke Street, but could be slightly dampened by the awkward "sunroom" doors in the middle of the living room. I had to watch my stepping if I was barefoot around the edges of the carpet (entering the kitchen/bathroom) to ensure I didn't step on a tack strip, which I eventually fixed with a hammer after cutting my foot open. I had to run my A/C year round, because if I didn't, the tempurature instantly jumped to 80 degrees. The A/C constantly froze up, which usually seemed to be late at night. The maintenance team's response was to not set it below 74 degrees, and it still froze up. Consequently, I spent numerous late nights trying to defrost my A/C unit with my wife's hairdryer to cool the place down enough to go to sleep. The garage door openers are a pain because they require you to sit there and continually push the button until they eventually open the cross arms, while you hope and pray that another vehicle doesn't try to exit at the same time because the ramp is narrow and winds around, and many people drive arrogantly, and don't bother to ensure their headlights are on. Parking was alright if you came home mid-day, find a spot, and never move your car again. I drive an F-150,I received a warning notice because I was taking up more than one space, well the spots are more narrow than my truck, either set of tires were over the lines. Visitor parking passes are $5 per 24 hours, check only. The HVAC system howled something fierce under the front door, which we fixed by throwing a towel there. We never heard noise from above us, however we could hear the neighbors next to us because their entertainment center was on the other side of our bedroom wall, but that was only for a short time, other tenants in the same apartment were quieter. The community is full of dogs, and I am a dog lover, however, I resisted getting one because the location doesn't seem very dog friendly, the only patch of grass is across Eisenhower in which you have to ride an elevator down to the lobby, wait for a cross walk, and cross the street. It seemed like about once a week, some poor puppy couldn't quite make it, and there would be a puddle in the elevator. The building is pretty secure in that you have to scan a FOB to enter the building, they also implemented the FOB scanner on the elevators to go to residental floors, which doesn't make much sense, if you are in the building, then you probably already have the FOB. The elevator FOB readers often require you to push your floor button multiple times for it to take, and even then sometimes halfway up, it would forget. The gym is pretty decent for cardio, there are individual tv screens on each machine, dumbbells up to 50 lbs, and a few other odd machines. The outdoor patio was well maintained but seemed kind of pointless, a few trees and other shrubs on top of a roof with no grill (or area to grill for that matter.) There is ample storage between cabinets and closets, however my bedroom was very awkward with the A/C unit in one corner and a support beam in the other, and as previously mentioned, sliding glass doors in the middle of the living room area that designate a sunroom seemed just plain odd.

      Don't move here!

I've lived here for a year, and am SO glad to be moving. Although the staff is very pleasant (especially Boris...), it's just too damn expensive for what you get. The parking here is 75 extra a month, while a block down it's 50, and it's owned by the same company. On top of it, they raised the rent from 1810 to 1950 when the lease was up. I live in a one bedroom apartment that's so small I have to walk sideways around my bed...and they charge 1810. I had to move here because I was disabled for a while and needed to live near a Metro station...but it's WAY too much for long term. Look elsewhere.. please.

        Living at Meridian of Eisenhower

I rented for 3.5 years, one of the first to move in, lived in two different apartments (down-sized). Great location, close to Old Town, Metro, movies, eating. The staff treated me like family, Michelle (Mgr) was absolutely great, and her staff greeted me with smiles and promptly assisted with any problems. It is apartment life and to be close to the metro, there is some noise. The staff at Meridian was far superior to my past apartment. Back to San Diego, I am sorry to leave my friends at Meridian. I would recommend this place to anyone! Rich

I agree. . I found the staff incredibly rude. Additionally, the concierge service seems to be there to keep an eye on what you're doing rather than taking care of the what a concierge service is supposed to do (Serve [take care of dry cleaning, mail, misc.]). The parking spaces are incredibly small, even for a compact owner, and are packed at night. Which is sh*tty when you consider the expensive cost to park. To add to the poor construction layout of the parking garage. The social/club room, is put on the 25 floor, and with slow elevators its no surprise hardly anyone is ever in there. Additionally, the pool is on the 12th floor (for whatever reason?), and is hardly used by tenants during the summer (comparatively speaking to other apartments with better layouts). The social events are not put together well and are far and few between. . As a comparative several other high-rise apartments have social events weekly, with occasional beer and pizza (i.e. Carlyle Place for example). As an additional piece of information, since the staff by law cant provide it- The residence at the Eisenhower are primarily late age, 40 , with the exception of a few younger married couples with kids. In my opinion, there are any number of better choices to pick from when it comes to a good apartment near or in the DC/Metro area for the same price..

            Loved This Place

The price is high, but it is worth it: *In 2 years Ive never seen a single bug. *The maintenance people are very helpful and always come right away. I have not had any problems with the office staff as the previous reviewers are stating. In fact, I was towed once by the highly ambitious towing company even though I had a valid sticker and the management paid me back for it. * Never had any problems with crime or security either. * Never noticed noise from the metro, and I live on that side of the building. * The building is conveniently located near a movie theatre, restaurants, kinkos, 95/495 and the metro. * The gym is somewhat small, but there are always available machines and tv's on each one. The only thing I dont like about the building is the giant yellow poles in the parking garage, making the spaces very narrow.

Ignore the bad reviews! This place is GREAT!!!!

If you want a luxury apartment, this place is great! Beautiful apartments, quiet, convenient and VERY safe. It is very well lit at night and in the parking garages. The staff is very attentive and respond immediately if anyone has any issues. They hold fun resident events several times a year. A complimentary coffee bar is provided in the lobby each morning. The location can't be beat! I am shocked that this place has been given any low ratings-clearly an indication of the person who wrote it rather than the apartments. ps. I do NOT work for any company related to Meridien or Paradigm Management.

                LOVE these apartments

Please be sure to go through these reviews and read every single one rather than being turned off by the low approval rate at the top. I have lived in the Meridian for almost a year, and I love it. Most of the residents here seem happy. Yes, sometimes the doors slam and that can be annoying, but for the most part, people are respectful and friendly. I love that the complex is somewhat social, and that is coming from someone who has never attended a function downstairs. Just riding up and down the elevators, you can make friends here. The desk staff and my renting consultant were friendly and efficient. I didn't even know about the drug rehab center until I was reading these reviews, and I do not feel crime is high around here. I feel extremely safe walking from the Metro to my apartment. The Metro is so convenient and close!! And if you moved in thinking that the train running right by the building wouldn't make for some noise, I don't know how you could have misunderstood that. While it is sometimes loud, I find the train to be "city noise" that it is hard to sleep without now that I've been here a year. The area keeps growing, so sometimes there is a bit of traffic, but still way less than anywhere along highway 1 or in the city. Of all of the apartments I have lived in, this one is the best deal for your money with the friendliest and most helpful staff. Any work orders I put in (even for changing a lightbulb) have been attended to immediately. The pool was always clean and quiet for the most part during the summer (though a bit windy). The gym is great--kept very clean and you can almost always jump right on a machine. If you're a dog person, a lot of people here have dogs, and there are grassy areas nearby where you can take them out. Overall, I have had a fantastic experience at the Meridian and I am sad I have to leave such a great apartment environment when I leave the DC area.

Great Location, Secure Garage Parking, Sound Proofing Above Average, Stellar Concierges.

The apartment was brand new when we moved in last summer. Granite counters in kitchen and bathrooms were fantastic. The soundproofing was superb to block out noise from the neighbors. Noise from the Eisenhower Metro-station is only audible from the apartments on the south west side of the building. The parking garage was secure for us, and we never had any towing or security issues for our 13 month lease. The concierges were fantastic, and we never missed a single Fedex, UPS, or USPS package. From our experience, the leasing office staff were very professional and work with you to resolve any issues. The maintenance staff works super fast and are way cool. Most of the other tenants residing in the building are working professionals, military, or families.

                    Looks can be deceiving

Good: RIGHT next to the metro station for easy commuting and ice cream next door. The management staff are nice and helpful, even on the weekends and late in the evening. Good pool. Okay, small gym. Bad: No sense of community within or around the building. Very high price per sq. foot plus "pet rent" and parking space fee monthly. LOUD metro and trains. "Ambitious" towing company that tows even if you have a sticker. Parking garage isn't secure during the weekdays. LOUD, slamming doors everywhere. A lot of outlet/electrical issues. Drafty apartment doors that cancel out your H/AC system and practically eliminate humidity in the winter. New ramp to 495 across the street. Only stayed a year and left asap. Look elsewhere, even craighslist!

I just want to warn any potential tenants to stay away. The Assistant Manager is very rude and always is trying to create new conflicts or apply all kinds of penalties, fees, etc.. The building looks nice but is overpriced.. Buildings @ Carlyle are better managed, better staff , better appliances and same price. This community applies too many tricks, like free months and after your contract they expect that most of tenants will leave..

The Manager and Maintenance are the worst I've seen in my life. If anyone knows of the Rental Company plaese respond with the answer. Calling them is like trying to get a response from the president of the United States. They spend all their time trying to rent apartments, Once you move-in you become a number. The places are run down and the managment does not care at all. Noise is VERY BAD because is just next to metro rail, and staff is hard to mention when there is none.

The area is still in construction (Eisenhower Connector) The building is @ the beltway and next to metro, is really NOISY, a lot of students and no rules for after hours. Management is worry only about the rent residents pay, fines, etc.. Rent increase too much after the 1st year so you have too pay too much or find a new place. Crime rate is HIGH and the drug rehab center is causing a lot of trouble around here. You have to come downstairs for all your visitors and present a valid ID. You have to pay for Ammenities everitime 4 or more people are together. ( I have a party of 8 and management sent me a $450 charge)

                              Eh

I've lived here for a year and a half. One thing about this place - management LOVES the rules. Rules are AWESOME! Let me tell you about another group of people who loved the rules - they were called Nazis. If you break a rule, first they will put a sign in the elevator telling 'everyone' about the rule, and if you continue to be naughty then they will slip a note under your door telling you what a bad boy or girl you are - shame on you! PLUSES: * The gym is adequate if you are too broke from paying the rent to get a real gym membership. * Plenty of parties to meet your fellow residents! Get ready to stand there awkwardly! * The club room is a fun place to hang out - if you have a large bladder. They lock the bathroom unless you have paid to reserve the room (which is like $500/hr) Better take the elevator back to your room to get your piss on! MINUSES: * Want to grill something outside on the courtyard? Forget it - the grill is only for the RAD parties they throw there. What's the point of the courtyard? There is no point. * Want to sleep after one of said RAD parties? You can't - the train comes by constantly. * It is the year 2009 and all the residents have e-mail addresses, yet management's preferred form of communication is sliding notes under your door. * You have to swipe your FOB to use the elevator. Got a guest or a pizza coming? Gotta call the front desk. Sometimes he/she goes to take a piss or a cigarette break at the wrong time and you will get a phone call from a pissed off pizza guy. Speaking of the front desk people, they make notes of your 'activities' (including your visitors) to make sure you are toeing the line as far as the rules go. * The coffee is free but it is awful - tastes sweet and syrup-like. Perfect for the elderly and people who don't really like coffee. So if you like tattling on your neighbors, holding in your pee, and throwing money out the window, this is the place for you. High 5!

I moved in a year ago and love the place. The management is really excellent and they take care of any problems as soon as they know about them. There are monthly get togethers so you can meet other residents. It is maintained very well. The rent is expensive but the convenience is definitelly worth it. I have a hard time believing people say crappy things because it is such a great place to live. I have lived in many apartmetns in my life but this is the best. Do try and get an aprtment whihc is not on the Metro track side of the building. I am used to the noise now but at first it was hard to sleep so I used a fan to block the sound.

                                  Floored by the bad reviews...

As far as I'm concerned, the place is close to perfect! I really don't understand all the bad reviews; I figure some people are overly-picky about many aspects of the building. I've been here a few months and I loved it from the day I moved in. It seems to be very well-built and I haven't had the first maintenance issue. My unit is brand new, VERY nice, and spacious for a one bedroom and the only noise is from people's front doors closing. The price is up there but well worth it when you consider the various safety features (very controlled access), quality of the unit, and awesome location (directly across from metro). My previous complex had no security and it was only about $75 less so I feel that this place is very much worth the money. Pet rent is quite affordable as well and better than what I've paid at other places. The utilities for a one bedroom (a little over 800 sq ft) are also quite reasonable; it seems to be a very well insulated building. Amenities are also really good here. They have all the standard ones (pool, GREAT gym, business center), plus the concierge service is outstanding and probably my favorite thing about the place. The staff is always courteous and very helpful in dealing with packages, guests, and deliveries. The management office staff members are also really nice and knowledgeable about the community. Move in was simple and painless except for the elevator reservation. My movers ran a little behind schedule and the staff got a bit of an attitude about it when I needed to adjust the time. Other than that, everything was good. My only main gripe is with parking. It's a little expensive to begin with but guest parking in the garage is a bit insane ($5 per guest, and you have to write a check). Other than that, it's an excellent place and I would recommended to people interested in moving to the area. It's hard to beat for the price and overall quality; it is truly a luxury apartment building!

I'm amazed that as of the time I wrote this review only 48% of reviewers had recommended the Meridian at Eisenhower. I've been living here for almost a year in a 2-bedroom apartment with my wife and we're very pleased. There are a few very minor issues, but they in no way detract from the value I feel we're getting. One of my friends in a 2-bedroom apartment in Arlington pays about 50% more than I do, and his apartment is not a "luxury" property and does not have comparable amenities. We also pay only slightly more than a couple of the properties down the street that don't have comparable amenities and aren't close to the metro. PROs: Across the street from the Eisenhower metro, within walking distance of the King Street metro, Amtrak station, Whole Foods, Starbucks and lots of restaurants; prompt service when there are problems; nice fitness center and pool; helpful concierges at the front desk; beautiful apartments. CONs: Leasing staff are kind of hit or miss - some are nice and some are not so nice. =) Obviously the metro noise, but everyone knew this when they got in, and it's definitely not as bad as you might think for going RIGHT BY the apartment. The parking fees if you have two cars are also a pain - I don't have anything to compare them to, though. OVERALL: I've lived in 4 different places in Northern Virginia and I highly recommend the Meridian at Eisenhower.

And the door slamming never stops....

I do not work in the construction industry, so I can't tell you why the heavy steel apartment entry doors are designed to swing shut on their own. Maybe it is for security, I don't know. But my husband and I are so tired of the constant door slamming that goes on up and down the hallway where we live. We hold our door handle to close our door, so as not to disturb our neighbors. But they obviously don't get it. The doors are also poorly insulated, with huge gaps under each door, which only exacerbates the noise problem. We can hear the newborn in a nearby apartment screaming from inside their apartment. No, there is no weather stripping on any of the doors (and the walls are thin!), so we may as well be living in the same home as our neighbors. The air flows in like the wind under our door. The problem isn't the doors so much as it is the oblivious residents, who don't seem to care. Things on the walls inside our apartment rattle when our neighbors let their doors slam shut. All they have to do is hold the handle when they close their doors. Very simple, and doesn't require much thought. No one does this, though. Not a single person on our hallway. Slam, slam, slam! All day and all evening. In the early morning, it is enough to wake us up. Not just once but repeatedly, as residents leave for work. We've complained to the property management, to no avail. All they have to do is put a notice under all the doors, like they do about the weights slamming in the gym disturbing the neighbors all around the 4th floor gym. But it hasn't happened yet. (That reminds me, don't live anywhere near the gym on 4th floor - many of the guys in there are pathetically oblivous and still let the weights slam. It must be a macho thing. I don't even work out in there anymore because the constant weight slamming drives me nuts.)

                                        terrible

The fitness center and pool are nice and the location is convenient, BUT as I write this I can hear the screeching brakes of the Metro trains, I can smell the cigarette smoke from my downstairs neighbor and can hear my next door neighbor's stereo. If you ever want a good night sleep or even a relaxing hour in your apartment, this isn't the place for you. Check out other places in the area - I have friends at other nearby buildings that don't have any noise or smoke problems and pay less rent.

                                          Safe, clean, professional

I'm a resident. I've lived in a number of apartments before. I can honestly say this is the nicest place I've rented. I work in DC so I looked around DC, MD, and VA and saw a lot of apt buildings and condos and this is the nicest I've seen for the price. As I say in the title of my review, it's very safe (great electronic entry system, always someone on staff in the lobby, and I walk at night and have never felt threatened, and there are cops always driving around), impeccably clean and well maintained, no vermin, and the staff here are friendly and have been nothing less than professional. Plus the building isn't far from Old Town which is great, and there are restaurants and people around all the time. There's also a nice gym, pool with a decent view, courtyard, and on-site parking (safe garage - I heard someone gripe about having the gates open during the day - unless you drive an Aston Martin, I doubt you have anything to worry about, esp considering people park nice cars on the street here). The apt amenities are modern with brand new appliances. Everything looks great. Other tenants I've met here have been very friendly. They seem to mostly be professionals in their 20s and 30s. I haven't encountered any weirdos. A great feature of the Meridian is its proximity to the Eisenhower Metro station. It's right across the street. I've read others' reviews and they say negative things about the noise. People - you live across the street from the Metro! Of course you will hear the train. But you also don't have to drive to the train everyday, don't have to pay for parking, don't have to rely on a shuttle, or don't have to walk a mile every morning and evening. I don't know why people complain so much. Where I've lived before, I've had to hear people yelling, car horns, police and ambulance sirens, etc. I'd consider myself lucky to hear as little as I do at the Meridian. It's really not that bad. But I guess people have to complain about something. Good luck to them finding a comparable place for the price across from the Metro, with the same amenities and safety. For everyone else, be realistic, if you want the convenience of stepping out the door and having the Metro right there, you may hear the train. If you want to pay for absolute soundproofing, maybe you should live in a pricier place. I'm content here and I know other people are.

Even with the convenience of the metro, not worth it

Having lived in the DC area for a number of years, in a variety of locations, I felt it was time to move into a brand new apartment. While these were brand new, that is one of the only positives. The metro, which they claim you won't hear, is much louder than you believe regardless of which direction your apartment faces (I've asked other residents with apartments facing all directions). The leasing office staff is worthless, while they're nice and courteous they are unable to answer the simplest of questions so you're forced to wait on them while they ask your question to the property manager. The maintenance and front desk staff are great and they are what hold this complex together. The garage parking, which you almost have to get since there are only 10 street parking spots and are always filled, is secure as long as you don't have someone trying to break into your car or steal it on foot as the garage doors are open from 8-6 each day. They don't have a community grill or allow any drinks by the pool, so if you enjoy lying out by the pool with an adult beverage you will need to find someone else's complex to go to. They do have socials where they provide snacks and drinks in order to try and make up for some of the other shortfalls but, in my mind, they've come up very short. This place has a rule for anything fun you may want to do so, if you are a hard sleeping hermit or someone that doesn't spend much time at their apartment and enjoys over paying for what you get, this place is perfect.

Rent Increase Too Much/Parking Fee is Too High

OK. I admit that when you say the rent is increasing by $77/month, it doesn't sound like much. But when you consider the fact that new leasees are getting my same unit for $23 less per month than I am paying right now; that means that although I have been a loyal, on-time-paying tenant for a year, I am paying $100 more than a new person will have to pay. No reward for loyalty here... Not even an offer to match what new folks will pay. Or leave my rent the same - I don't mind paying $23 more than someone else - but $100? And I don't believe the building is at capacity yet. These are nice apartments. My view is of the Washington Masonic Temple - beautiful. The location is wonderful. The Metro is right accross the street. Old Town Alexandria is a mile away. The staff has been awesome to me (...except for one member confusing me with a 'rent reduction program' participant when I called to discuss the apartment that I had already been approved for. Did I 'sound' like I couldn't afford to live here? My salary is over 6 figures. That conversation was disconcerting.) Yes. I have sour grapes over the rent increase. Not becasue I can't afford it, either. It just hurts my feelings! That's really my only complaint about Mer-Ike: the units and parking are overpriced.

Family with two little kids. We *love* it here!

                                                1. Management/office client service: top-notch. Leasing consultants did everything they could to give us a good experience... we're not easy customers, either. We've got two little kids that they were so patient and friendly with during the leasing process. They showed us the property several times until we made our decision on an apartment. They sent us e-mails and kept us in the loop on the whole credit/leasing process. We got our approval notice and move-in information very quickly -- they were so organized and helpful. 2. Building: Fantastic gym! The pool setting is really sweet - you're on the roof with a view in all directions. Always a life guard on duty, who's super nice. Plenty of chairs to relax and read. Very clean. Club room: I'm writing this review as I sit in the Club Room. It's my home-away-from-home. Free wireless! Free coffee! Free local monthly bus pass! Concierge service! Organized and friendly front office! Brand new building with tons of garage parking (including guest parking at a daily rate). 3. Apartment: Everything is brand new. I hear no construction. My window is right on the Metro tracks and the loudest I hear is a faint whirr when it goes by -- maybe like the wind is blowing outside the window, but very faint. I love it! I have a 2 bedroom plus sun room (1333 square feet). 4. Neighborhood: movie theaters, metro across the street, great restaurants, close to King St. 5. Price: Our budget was 3K per month, so we were able to choose from several buildings. In the end, we got a great deal at Meridian with the move-in specials. Instead of paying 3K, we've got a gorgeous apartment in a gorgeous building for 2K plus $75 parking. I'd have paid 3K for it - worth every penny. Previous negative posts: I'm not following on the complaints about the management office. They are seriously the nicest and most helpful people out of all the management companies I worked with in finding an apartment. They care about their clients' experience and want them to feel welcome. Give them a try!

                                                  A great place to live!

The Meridian at Eisenhower is really a great place....but you pay a pretty penny for it. What do you expect, though?...Brand new apartments, washer/dryer in unit, across the street from the metro, literally next door to the movies and restaurants, new equipment in the gym, gorgeous lobby, etc. NOTE: This is a highly-dog-occupied building! There is a dog weight limit (some people may fib on their dog's poundage) and there is a pet rent for people with dogs as well as a non refundable deposit for animals. For every one child I've seen, I'll seen 10 dogs. Seriously, with 25 floors, 3XXish apartments, I've seen about 5 kids. The maintenance folks and the daytime concierge (woman) are all SOOO nice and friendly. This building is next to a military building so there are a lot of Army personnel who live here. There are people of all races, shapes, and sizes who live here....only occasionally I will see a sketchy person. People pretty much keep to themselves....you'll never see 90% of the people in the building. Those people you do see aren't the most friendly. Garage parking is great! There are no hidden fees to living here. Coming from a very different living environment, I couldn't believe I had to pay for parking, but I suppose that's city living for you. Parking for the 1st vehicle is $75/month, 2nd vehicle is $100 additional per month, on top of the rent. I know someone who recently renewed their lease (they were one of the 1st occupants in the summer of 2007) and the rent increased $35ish dollars....unsure what it will be like as the years go by. This area is really building up fast. The perks go on and on..as for negatives: The carpet in all the units are low quality...not thin industrial, but not berber...it's fuzzy but wears/mats quickly. My other pet peeve is that there's white tile in the bathroom....it's a real hassle. My final irritant is that it's literally impossible to hang curtains of the sunroom area (though I have a unit without the glass doors...we preferred it without that). (Yes, I know these are really picky things, but I had to think of something!)
