I have lived in this apartment for over 16 years. I've seen a lot of changes and supposed "improvements". The computers/printers are a nice touch, but often there are kids just playing on them when I have something serious to do. This is not acceptable.

Experience has been good until we received our renewal letter. The rent increase for staying a few extra months is extremely high. It's clear they don't care if you stay here or move on. I would think they would encourage good tenants to stay.

Location and maintenance staff are good. What is the propose of the commercial and visitors parking, if some drivers don?t care about parking policies and almost everyday there?s a moving services truck blocking the roads and spots in the parking lot. The office staff is very professional, although any time we go to the office, there?s new people on their staff. Many residents block sidewalks with their cars at the parking lot.

A very safe place to live. It's very close to shopping and entertainment. Office hours can be hard to meet at times, but they are working out a new schedule to allow more late nights. Shuttle bus is also a plus.

Rose Hill is reasonably priced for such good quality living. I did a lot of research before choosing Rose Hill, and am stills satisfied with my choice a year later. They literally have the best maintenance staff I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Maintenance issues can be called in through a really easy phone system and the work is usually done that day. Super efficient! Lots of amenities and social events available, if you are into that. Walking distance from shopping & restaurants. All--in-all, very satisfied with Rose Hill!

The location is great, good amenities, just wish it weren't quite so expensive on the rent. Let me say that again, the rent is too high, but I blame that on being in Alexandria, and being closer to DC, which ultimately affects the price. A shame.

This a great place to live, staff members are always ready to help, service is the best! They offer a complete exercise room , tennis court, playground for children and a nice pool to enjoy in summer. Very close to Kingstowne and Springfield Mall

I began renting an apt in Rose Hill as a single occupant, but when I married, my husband and I moved to a larger unit. We now have a daughter. We have the most pleasant 6 years living here in this community. The community is safe. The grounds are immaculate, the playground is safe and updated, the pool and clubhouse are impressive. We have experienced top notch service from management and maintenance any time we've had a concern. We especially enjoy the free community events like cookouts, pizza night, costume parties and much more! We love Rose Hill so much we recommended it friends who now live here, as well. Rose Hill gets an A from our family!

It's nice, clean , safe and comfortable. I enjoy the amenities and the location. My rent obligation is just right for the type of apartment I have. If my rent was more than my current, I would mostly consider moving. Overall I am pleased with the community.

Rose Hill has far exceeded my expectations. The community feels safe, comfortable, quiet and the leasing office staff are genuinely nice and amazingly helpful. I especially love the many fun, frequent community gathering events (such as movie night, free pizza night, bingo etc)- At first I expected these events to be cheesy and awkward - but on the contrary, they're so much fun and I love all my neighbors. I'm always looking forward to the next event! The apartment unit itself is also a great deal for the price - love my corner unit with balcony! Only change I'd make - the bedroom is too huge and the bathroom too tiny - wish they had made the bedroom smaller and bathroom bigger.

Overall, it's been very positive. In addition to the ratings below, I enjoy and appreciate the community events the staff organizes. It makes me feel more like a part of the community. I also like the other amenities the apartment had to offer. The only thing that we make it better in my opinion is shuttle service to the metro and more closet space (e.g., linen, coat)

Been a resident for 6 years. Have found it a relaxing place to live. Management is very responsive with any issues. Maintenance people are always top-notch. Have had a few bumps I understand these are old buildings but on a whole things go well here.

After two months I'm generally happy. Quick attention to maintenance requests (though finding a roach less than 3 wks after moving in wasn't ideal). Love the floor plan. No parking problems. A little noise from my neighbor above- she stomps though ;-). They hold packages too, which can be nice.

I had a bad time at rose hill, when a man was stabbed to death down the street at the 7-11, I got a notice on my door downplaying the incident saying that It was someone that did not live in the area, when I later was told that he was killed across the street from his house. And I had to fight to get my deposit check back since they "accidentally" mailed it to the apartment the I had moved out of instead of the address that I had given them.

Overall, I have had a good experience at Rose Hill Apts. The property is well maintained, maintenance requests are handled in a timely fashion, and routine maintenance is consistent. I have always felt safe in the community, and the administrative staff are friendly and helpful.

Going outside to have a nice walk is very great. Also the pool and the gym are very nice to have. The staff, office, and management here is also very cooperative and easy to talk to. The neighborhood overall is great and the people are very nice. And lastly taking my kids to the Rose Hill apt. Playground is excellent and they enjoy it. Overall a nice place.

Pros: 1) family-centric community with a dog park. 2) Community events for kids. 3) Good amount of space for the price. 4) Free computer area/printing that's open even when the office closes. Cons: 1) Maintenance did not fix issues properly or promptly. I had drafty windows and a warped door, but was given some foam to cover the edges of these areas. It was not sealed properly and came right off. 2) My heat was not working properly for over a week and they had to replace the unit. 3) No privacy. Bushes were torn down so you can now see right into apartments. When kids play, they are right outside the window. Maintenance uses the hoses by the bedroom windows, so there is no privacy there either. 4) floors are warped and I had mold when I first moved in. The ceiling is still warped and has bubbles. 5) Smokers are prevalent and you can smell it through the vents...regardless of what the apartment complex might tell you. 6) Outside doors are not secured with key passes, so anyone can come and knock on your door or follow you in. 7) You can hear your neighbors through the walls. 8) The flood lights permeate through the bedroom windows unless you get blackout curtains. 9) There is no way to disable to loud alarm that goes off when the dryer cycle ends. 10) I think people must complain about mice because the Orkin man is here every few months...unless this is preventative. They put down glue traps in every apartment.

The management staff was really friendly and helpful. The community is pretty quiet and i can hardly hear any noise from my neighbors. From what I've seen, there is quite a range of people who live here, and I like that the community has events for the residents like a casino night and an Easter egg hunt. Some of the structuring is a little out of date. (Same with the appliances, but it depends on the specific apartment.) Wish the buildings were individually secured, but other than that, it seems like a great community for an affordable price.

It's been a wonderful experience living here at Rosehill, until they installed this security system. There is no way to open the door from our apartment and my grandson was in the rain until I could get down the stairs to let them in. It isn't a great system if you have family in the complex.

Office and maintenance staff are very accommodating. Location is convenient to mass transit and highways; condition of grounds, building exteriors, interiors, and amenities are good. Staff is very friendly and approachable should any issues arise.
