Great Place to Hang Your Hat
I've lived here for almost 2 years now, and I can honestly say this is an excellent community. The staff in the office is always friendly and helpful, and they are quick to respond to any issues you may have. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, which is a pleasant surprise in an apartment community. I highly recommend checking this place out, if you're looking in Leesburg.

Excellent place to live
Overall my rental experience was great. I would highly recommend this complex. I had wonderful neighbors. Whenever I had a problem the Main office would respond immediately and go above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. My reason for moving has nothing to do with the complex, it's due to personnel reasons. I will really miss Tuscarora Creek it really felt like family to me. I feel this is a close knit family environment and a wonderful place for kids to grow up.

Nice Place
I have been a resident for 1 year and have found it to be very peaceful with good neighbors. The office has been friendly, especially the leasing agent, Naurin, she has always been helpful anytime I have had a concern or need. The apartment rooms and closets are spacious which is a plus. Parking is a problem if you live near the pool/clubhouse. Noise is the golfers who are up early in the morning and landscapers upkeeping the grounds periodically. Safe overall, but there are outdoor building lights that need repaired. Exterior construction is well, inside bathroom and kitchen cabinets are in need of major repair/replacement due to water/previous renter wear and tear damages and also because this is an old complex so cabinets are outdated as well. The kitchen floor is the same and could use a face lift. I like the tile bathroom floors. I wish the stackable washers/dryers were bigger, they are not big enough to wash/dry a twin size comforter. I wish there was also an exercise room but currently there is not. Still a nice place to live with lots of potential.

So far the best place to stay in this high-priced area
Good place to live. maintenance is quick. Route 7 can be noisy in some apartments. Washer and dryers are small. All-in-all pretty good for the price. Office staff is friendly and helpful. Its a smaller complex so they get to know the residents better. FIOS is available which is a big plus.

Nice place to live
These apartments are very nice to live in. I do admit that when my fiancee and I moved in, there were a few things that needed to be fixed but we informed the management of it all and they had maintenance come in and take care of it quickly.

The management and maintenance are all nice & friendly people which is always a good quality. There is a local golf course for those that are interested, but they face away from the apartments so there's no need to worry about any golf balls invading your apartment.

On the upper levels there's a small balcony that you can go out on to take in some of the view, and is also rather convnient for pets that want to go outside but you don't want them to get to far out there. Also on clear nights you can get a good view of the stars and moon.

There's a lot of space in our apartment, it even feels more spacious than our last one which is kinda funny considering that our last one was a 2 bedroom 2 bath! Our neighbors are considerate and friendly so you don't have to worry about some ruckus at 3AM when you've gotta wake up for work 2 hours later.

Thankfully they do allow pets, and the monthly pet fee isn't bad at all. There is a combined washer and dryer unit which can hold a fair amount of clothes that are part of the apartment. Also our apartment came with a dishwasher, electric stove, and insinkerator.

In the bottom of the buildings there is a trash room but they don't smell up the building and make it very convenient to take out the trash. For the big stuff there is a dumpster on the grounds too.

Parking isn't an issue as there are parking stickers. However, there is a visitors lot that friends can park in for friends and family droppin by. Close to that there is a pool for those hot days. Also nearby is an area for charcoal grilling which I plan to take advantage of this summer.

One thing that I like personally is that the buildings are kinda back in an area that won't be hammered by the sound of traffic or anything like that. Despite that though, the grocery stores are really close by which is very convenient.

Verizon, Comcast, Adelphia, and satellite are all available at the apartments for TV, phone, and online needs too.

Nice Place
Tuscarora is a very nice place to live. We like living next to a golf course, of which we have a great view. Noise isn't usually a problem because the apartments are well made. There is a nice pool area. It feels safe. The staff is helpful and cooperative, and our neighbors have been nice.

great apartments
i've been living here for the last two years or so and have enjoyed it very much. I have no complaints whatsoever. This is the best set of apartments i've lived in my entire life. Considering how much i've moved, this place is definitely ranked #1 in my book.

home sweet home
We've been living here for about a year and some months and overall it's been a pretty positive experience. The neighborhood is pretty quiet, no screaming kids, no loud annoying neighbors (the walls are pretty thick), backyard has excellent scenery. The leasing agent, Naurin, is very personable and helpful and for the price (especially in this area) you really can't beat it unless you want to spend a couple hundred extra a month somewhere else.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The apartment buildings are well constructed. I like the fact that mailboxes are located inside each building and that my door opens to an interior corridor instead of the outside. Public transportation is avaiable from the apartment complex.

Excellent!
We have been here for 2 months on a short term lease and are very happy. Office and support staff have been responsive and to be honest, this is the first apartment in the Washington DC area I have lived in where I have not seen a single bug. This tells me about the quality of the people living here. We feel safe and living on the golf course is quite beautiful, especially when we had the snow this past month.

Equally important as the bugs issue, is the noise level. Solid construction helps with noise mitigation, and again, the quality of our neighbors makes it very peaceful.

I do recommend Tuscarora Creek.

Uhmmmmmmmm....wellllllllll
If you like smelling whats in everyone else's apartment and breathing second hand smoke, then this is your place. Oh yeah....you must like very small stacked washer/dryer and living with bugs and rodents. To bad they don't pay rent. :( Its the cheapest in town so "people" are moving in that are multiples. This results in poor parking, domestic violence calls, and poor condition of the grounds. Also, its a stones throw from Route 7 and very noisy. By the way, the local "law enforcement" doesn't care that local trucks use engine brakes. So..if you like noisy, smokey, "COPS" style place to live, this is your place. Me....I'd rather live in a cardboard box. :(

You want lots of frustration? Live here!
My husband and I recently moved from a 2 bedroom unit to a 3 bedroom unit at Tuscarora Creek. When we moved we found several small, non-emergency items that needed attention (closet lights, etc). We have been waiting now for 8 weeks for maintenance. We have supplied three written lists, at least six phone calls, 4 face to face conversations, our key for the day so they could make a duplicate,(their latest excuse for no maintenance). We have been consistently promised and promised that maintenence was forthcoming momentarily. It has gone past annoying to the realm of ridiculous! I'm looking for Van Metre's home office e-mail or phone number to file a complaint with Mr. Van Metre himself, whom I would hope would respond. I'm convinced after 3 years of this kind of service that the personnel surely must have to pass a special test designed to select those who can look you right in the eye and lie without compuction.
Can someone out there help me with a contact number/address/e-mail? I'll check back! I wonder if they realize that they have a 10 day limit to fix non-emergency items before Tuscaroro Creek has broken the lease themselves? I could move out at this point without notice and they would owe me pro-rated rent. At least that is what Tenent Right Law tells me. Is that right?

It is not a hidden treasure! Run We hate it!
I wrote the "Hidden Treasure comments in 3/05, well a year and half later, I can tell you to run.

Deception, Bait & switch tatics. They treat your home as if it the resident doesn't matter. They enter your home at will and give no notice. I have items broken and missing.

Lies, I asked if they were going to do the sub meter for water charges, the Manager, -------, looked at me and "Oh no, the pipes are leaking" and now we have a water meter and monthly water bills that were not budgeted when we moved in.

Before I moved in ---, Leasing Agent called me to say my apartment would be ready, but it needed kitchen cabinets and that would be several weeks. I said no problem. A year and half later, they have no memory of this call or the Manager, -------------, telling me that she had called the vendor to speed it up after two month of waiting.

Please don't get trapped into a place that has no professional team to take of your needs.

They tore out the water lines in the bathroom, dining room and living room and we could not use these rooms for over a month and half. All these strange men were in out all day and our apartments left unlocked during the business hours. They broke Crystal, curtain glass rods, white drywall dust in our computer, printer, sofas.

Not one we're sorry, no concession. Total lack of respect.

All the residents were at their mercy. I know at least 20 residents that wanted to get attorney to protect our rights.

I could go on and on. Please do you and your family a favor, if its a Van Metre property, run from it.

Office Staff and Lease Useless
I really like my apartment, but the hassle of obnoxious, uncaring, and unprofessional office staff, combined with changing of lease terms through inadequate notifications (sometimes just verbal!) has me looking to move. If you can't rely on a contract to protect you from spur-of-the-moment changes to line their pockets with more money, why bother to sign? Parking may be limited in front of some areas, but plenty is definitely available. Especially now that they only allow one vehicle per apartment! Unless, of course you want to pay to park a second vehicle. And visitor parking is next to none. Don't expect to be receiving visitors. They will be towed! Amenities include a nice pool, a few grills, an old playground, old, broken picnic benches, and a park bench that's been broken since last summer. There is also no emergency maintenance. They show when then decide to get there.

A Hidden Treasure
No bugs! Bright and clean hallways. Smells great all the time. Jeanne, Aja, Don and Tommy are a great caring team. Parking is no problem. Concrete floors and walls. A step above community living. We love it! I watch the golfers play from my large balcony.
Huge areas of space in our dining and living areas. I could go on and on. Before retiring, I was a Apartment Manager for over 17 years and managed high rises and garden apartments in Alexandria, Arlington, and Leesburg so trust me, I am so picky and my expectations are extemely high, lets keep this community our secret.

Going downhill fast
This was once a nice place to live but it has fallen on hard times recently. The large numbers of dogs, parking problems and the overall increase in crime are becoming a nuisance.

The Golf course is now planning to provide commuters with a "park & ride" lot adding to the already high volume of traffic on this single lane street.

Old and Overpriced
This apartment community is ok, but overpriced for what it offers. The apartment complex is old and really shows signs of its age. Our ceiling leaks from an apartment above, the toilets run, and the washing machine / dryer stack unit is useless. The smell of the trash room / storage area fills the entrance hallway. Driving up the road leading to the apartment complex you pass a boarded up motel and two even more run down looking apartment complexes. We own a nice German sports sedan and it makes us very nervous parking in the lot. Our lease runs out next month and we´re very anxious to get out of here.

Comfortable w/Good Staff
I´ve lived here 7 months and hope to renew my lease when due. It´s wonderfully peaceful and quiet and the new management staff has really made a difference keeping the grounds clean. And they are friendly and helpful as well! Having at least one of them live on-site is good also, as they can monitor any irregular comings and goings.

Maintenance issues I´ve requested have had a very quick turn around time and I´ve been pleased. And the best part is that the pool is VERY clean and well maintained!

The only issues, which are probably common at most apartment complexes, are irresponsible dog owners not cleaning up after their pets, the need for speed bumps to slow down drivers who think parking lots are major roadways, and some additional lighting in the parking area would make it more comfortable coming and going at night.

Other then this, I highly recommend this community.
