I lived here for 2 years, being close to the light rail might seem like a good idea, but you get alot of foot traffic from people who dont live around here and break into cars. every sunday you can drive down towards the light rail and see window glass all over the road from all the break in's. i counted 9 cars just on the road in one weekend. i have 3 neighbors cars broken into and didn't receive one notice from the office that it had happen. few months later they sent out a notice saying don't leave stuff in plain view in your cars so they wont get broken into. Pool was never heated and closed early in the season. common area's where never clean, people smoking and drinking by the pools leaving glass bottles and trash everywhere. main reason i moved here was the smoke free environment for the kids. had to call multiple times for ac and other repairs and was told the first few times on ac repairs that it was fine and i just had to wait longer, then finally someone came out and put 5 lbs of freon on the system and then it worked like it should 6 weeks after my first complaint in the middle of summer. was never told when they came by to do the service so i had to call to see if they had even looked at it yet, because it wasn't fixed i didn't know. had to complain about the noise of neighbors 4 times before they would do anything. and it was just normal noise, these people where playing the bass loud 20 hours a day. many people sitting on the curbs smoking right by the main office with maintenance people driving by them and not even reporting it. so if you had your window open smoke came in. way to much money for the area and what you get. i only moved in there because i was in a hurry and needed a place close to my work, would of never moved in there if i read the reviews. maintenance left washer hose loose when they used it to wash the garage and it flooded our wash room and they told us to just dry it up with towels and wasn't anything else they could do. they could of mopped it up and put fans on it. 60 day notice to move out is a bit much.

I have lived here 2 years. The rent is high, the quality of living is low, the staff doesn't care about keeping residents in compliance with property regulations. The pools/hottubs always dirty, our building fire alarm keeps going off usually for no reason and the sound is piercing and horrible for the pets, and not even an apology from management. I was given a option to renew or required to submit a 60 day notice to vacate, which we are electing to do. Today I went in to ask for their required form and found out they won't allow it to leave the office for review or for the other family members to sign. We all work or attend school and have different hours and they require a pow wow in the office everyone present with id's just to turn in a 60 day notice. What a bunch of crap. We ordered new blinds when we moved in since the old ones were damaged and they replaced them with blinds to big for the window and trimmed down with a pair of scissors. I give this place a zero for a referral, but you will probably not listen so good luck.

Do not come here. I lived at the Savoy for a year and half and everything was great until the change in management. The management team will not inform you of car breaks, or criminal activities going on. In fact, our car was stolen when it was parked outside of our apartment, we notified police and the management team and management team did nothing. In fact, I went knocking door to door to let neighbors know to be careful. Neighbors told us there car was broken into the week before and management did nothing, didn't even send out an email to inform residents. Noise level is terrible, complained about upstairs neighbors multiple times and nothing was done. Save your money and do not come here.

"The Savoy Apartment Complex is not safe." strongly agree. Homeless people sleep at night inside the buildings. NEVER think about this place and save your money! After the complex sold to a new company, the maintenance is terrible here. Keep in your mind that you will pay more for car insurance because the area considers as "AURORA" city!!

This place is a total joke! DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! The AC units are undersized and your electric bill will be outrageous. I asked to have my unit fixed 3 times in the summer and nothing was ever done. It would run all day long and be 85 in my apartment. The review that mentioned car break ins in real. Mine has been broken into. They allow kids to smoke pot behind the dumpster. Probably the ones breaking in the cars. This place is a scam with thin walls, terrible appliances and HORRIBLE staff!!

The Savoy Apartment Complex is not safe. Constant Car Break-ins and management does nothing to change up security or even notify the residents that criminal activity is occurring on its property. I had to hear from a few other residents about the crime issue on this property. Think twice about signing here!

It is simple. Do not come here. As you can see many reviews here, their maintenance service is awful. Never fix it one time. I have two kids and we decided to move here because of schools. BUT last night (02/02, 7 degree in CO), my kids slept without heating. The heater was fixed on 02/01 (we also slept on Sunday night without heating). I have just called the office and she said 'people make mistakes!'. Yeah... They have always made mistakes. We also had to fix a range and refrigerator but we needed to call the service again and again to complete their job. How long I live here? 5 months. It is a luxury apartment. The life here? Just keep calling the office and maintenance service to survive.

Was this the worst apartment? No, but it wasn't exactly what it was cracked up to be (rarely are they ever) I'll start off positive with the pros: *The gym is much more expansive than a lot of other apartment gyms *The pool and hot tub are decently maintained *It's a pretty area to live *The neighborhood is nice and safe *Close to food and shops *Light rail station *Washer dryer Cons: *They DO NOT enforce the no smoking rule. Almost daily will my husband and I wake up to the aroma of weed or cigs in our apartment, it's disgusting and we have reported it but they do nothing *Parking is a nightmare. The people with garages do not use them, so there are never enough spaces, and the spaces that are here are unusually small. Very difficult to park if you have an SUV or truck. Someone actually hit our car the other day because of the parking *Because parking is limited the streets are lined with cars and it's very hard to drive through and they should honestly be made into no parking zones. Too many people come zooming around corners that are now literal one ways because of all the cars *Bugs were a problem in our apartment. No roaches but lots of large spiders, beetles, and mosquitoes. *Rent goes up no matter what after your first lease *Not the fastest response time from maintenance. Our water heater broke and they took about two days to respond. Not normally a big deal but we pay rent, so it's someone else's responsibility to come and take of that stuff promptly, not when they get around to it. Overall this place wasn't too bad, but we are not renewing our 12 month lease. It's not a bad place to start out but I don't know how people stay here long term. The staff is nice in the beginning but they really don't do much when you have an actual issue. The people that we lived around were somewhat rude, excessively noisy (my husband and I are in our early 20's, so...) and messy (didn't throw their trash away so it would end up on our patio, didn't clean up after dogs) Our apartment started out in the 900's for a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom 495sf apartment(I see that the base rent has now gone up and is starting in the 1000s). It was very expensive for low quality appliances, carpet, flooring, etc. And really nothing is covered with your rent so your insurance, utilities, etc are also up to you. This place for the price really isn't worth it

I have lived in apartments for over 15 years and this was the only time I had an unpleasant experience with noise. Unfortunately, the staff at Savoy did not follow Equity Residential 3 strike rule regarding the extreme behaviors of the tenant above me. I know they contacted him 6 times. I also called the courtesy patrol on 3 or 4 occasions and were very busy and never made it to catch him; Hammering between 11 pm & 1 am on multiple occasions. Jumping and what sounded like dropping barbells daily, the line sprints across the floor above me that was so loud it made my closed doors in the apartment rattle fast enough to sound like buzzing on the recording! At no time were the quiet hours respected. Repeatedly, I had to wash my white patio furniture and custom cloth pillows & rug due to urine from his dog, once it was thick and sticky owing to the rotting pumpkin leaking down on everything. Photos were shown to staff with no improvement on the situation. I finally received permission to hang a tarp on the rafters above me. When it came down on move out the smell and visual was impressive, again photos were shown to staff. The lease renewal increased the rent over 10%. FYI; there is no such thing as normal wear and tear, I am a clean freak and even scrubbed the walls, patio & garage. Refund on agreed over charges failed to arrive. We also had a car stolen. I cannot recommend any of the apartments on Dallas St. as there is heavy traffic of all types between the light rail & Wal-Mart. I loved the actual apartment, amenities, & maintenance. Office staff was friendly though often did not know and had to refer me to management for response. Which is all quite do-able.

I recently moved out of The Savoy and my boyfriend currently lives there. The community is kept up really well, the office staff is super sweet, and the neighboring dog park is by far the best in Denver. Not to mention, it is walking distance to the light rail which is a straight shot down town. I wish all the weirdos that have written hateful reviews in the past would understand what the office staff can or cannot due. If I paid my rent on time, guess what??? I wouldn't get a late fee! What a shocker, they are open 7 days a week so I'm sure the dude from the last review could have figured it out if he wasn't such a dork. Of course at any apartment there are pros and cons and for me, I needed a backyard for my growing puppy so I couldn't stay there any longer. All in all, I liked living there and the staff couldn't have done a better job. Someone owes those people some cheeseburgers!

If you want zero customer service from people who practically tell you they don't care at all about you, then this is the place for you. I have lived at this place for a year and paid every single month on time. You would think that they would appreciate that, considering the horror stories you hear about some tenants. Nope. It took them 3 tries to fix our washer machine. They barely budged on my renewal price and literally said to me "Well I don't make commission on your apartment so I don't care whether you rent it or not." If it weren't for the fact that I am extremely limited financially and cannot afford to move, I would not be renewing. In fact, I wish there were some way I could get out of it right now. The final clincher: When finalizing my new lease, they messed up my online account so, when I went to submit my payment, I could not access my old apartment and therefore could not send in payment. When I called and asked about it, they told me it would take a few days so I would have to bring in my payment in person. I had already come in to talk to them and get a breakdown off all the move-out and move-in costs, so I went over that again with the women on the phone to make sure I was paying the right amount (since I could no longer see it all on my online account). Her amount was different and she said it was because I had 2 months worth of utilities to pay instead of one. This didn't make sense to me because (A) I know I have paid all my bills on time and (B) that wasn't mentioned to me during the move-out meeting I had where we went over all the costs. I told her that and she basically "Oh well I don't know why they didn't go over that with you but you have to pay 2 months utilities at the end because you didn't pay your first month." But that was a lie because I DID pay my first month's utilities. She just failed to explain the fees properly. She had me so turned around that I wound up paying more than I was supposed to because they somehow failed to charge the rental application for my new roommate when she first applied. Because my new roommate, my old roommate, and I all divvied up the final bill (prorated), I know have to go to both of them and figure out how to adjust the amounts so that the $40 extra charge goes back to my new roommate. THEN, because of all this commotion (not being able to access my online account, having the charges dictated to me first from the leasing office and second from my old roommate because I didn't trust the leasing office at all, and because I work during the business hours, which is why being able to pay online is so important) I wound up getting to their leasing office after they closed on the 3rd, which means they deposited our payments on the 4th and charged us a $50 late fee. I called and tried to talk to them about the late fee, explained how all of these issues made it difficult for me to get there on time, and how I have made every single other payment on time, they absolutely did not care and had zero forgiveness. I swear I cannot wait to get out of this apartment. If only there was a way I wasn't locked in! I understand not letting tenants walk all over you, but you don't offer 1 month of forgiveness for tenants who pay on time, never have any complaints called on them, keep their apartment clean, and don't cause any trouble??? Literally, they don't care one bit about giving out personalized service and about taking care of their good tenants. They won't even TRY for you. All she kept saying was "Well, I know our corporate billing won't reverse that unless it's an office error and this isn't an office error so they won't." But she couldn't even ASK for me? She couldn't just SAY it was an office error considering the online issue, the confusion about the bill, and the fact that the rent was there when they first opened up on the 4th? Nope, because literally they do not care about you, the tenant, at all.

I have been a resident for just shy 1 year, and have had nothing but a great experience. The office staff is wonderful, and I often find myself stopping in just to chat! They are always more than welcoming and very professional! I have read through a few reviews, and am a bit surprised by others opinions. I have had only 1 A/C request, and it was fixed within minutes of me going to the office. You can't beat that!

I am reading these reviews and a 29% approval rating and I have to disagree. I don't work for Equity, and I am only speaking my mind. About me, I have just signed my 8th lease with The Savoy, I have lived in 3 different apartments in this complex and that has been personal reasons, I have always been happy here for many reasons. Location, Location, Location. I don't even have to go on to Hampden or Yosemite to have a Walmart, a low cost dry cleaners (which are very good), my dentist, my gas station, and other services. Within less than 3 miles, we have a King Soopers, Walmart, Whole Foods, Walgreens, and within a few months a Target. How can you beat that. I don't use it, but the Dayton Street Station for the light rail system is in our backyard.. oh and do you have a dog, there is a great dog park right next door to phase 2 of the complex! The staff, since I have had our apartment manager whose name I will mention, --------------- as well as all of her staff, office and maintenance, I have had nothing but courtious, respectful and helpful service from all of her staff, both in the office and the maintenance team has always been very good here. I look forward to my dealings with Leticia and anyone on her staff. Safety, I have seen some reviews about the ------?? I shop at Walmart, I am not too good to get good deals and shop with people of all races, creeds, religion and culture. And it is so nice to have it withing walking distance. Furthermore, I have been a rentor for over 3 decades, and I have to say, that in all those years, I feel very safe and secure in this complex. That is the main reason I continue to live here. The quality of the apartments, I can agree that the cabinetry isn't the best, but in a small (623 sq ft) apartment, I have a pantry that my friends have in 3000 square foot home, my bathroom has so much storage I don't even have enough to fill it up, and my walk in closet is the 2nd largest one I ever had, and the other one was a in 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment at 1100 square feet. Noise, I have noticed very little noise issues beyond that of any apartment complex I have ever lived in and in fact, for the most part this being the newest one I ever lived in, I have felt like the noise level is pretty low for an apartment complex. So I just want to give an different opinion to say that I feel for Aurora (and frankly we are more of a less expense Greenwood Village complex that many of the Aurora complexes) this is a very good choice for location, safety and design (not cookie cutter apartment floor plans). I know I enjoy living in a unit that is very unique and not the typical floor plan of most apartmetns.

The Savoy is a terrible place to live if you care at all about keeping the common areas nice. Nobody else cares about anything outside of their immediate apartment - and in fact they actively break rules of the buildings. I am in a non-smoking building, and yet the apartment across from me hot-boxes our entire building 3-4 times per week with pot. I also live above an apartment that has a dog barking all the time, and nothing is done about it. I have consistently put in complaints since I moved in - 5 months ago. The management simply doesn't want to expend the effort (or money) to take care of anything. Additionally, even though my building is only about 16 months old, the door frames have settled enough that I can't lock the deadbolts on any of them. When I complained about all these issues, I was told that there was "no proof" that anything was wrong, but I could break my lease for ~$1000, even though they didn't acknowledge existing issues. The bottom line is that if you are considering moving here DON'T! They do the bare minimum to keep the buildings standing and no more.

I have lived at the Savoy, in the new phase, for a year now. I have been more than pleased with my beautiful apartment and the staff. I feel like a lot of people log onto these types of sites when they are mad, but not enough people do it to say anything nice. The office staff is very friendly and the maintence folks are always quick to respond to requests, even when they are not emergencies. I just happily re-signed my lease for another 12 months, without even giving it a second thought. My apartment is totally energy efficient and very quiet. I just love it. My only complaints are that the gym is not tended to as much as I would like (always out of towels, two of the treadmills seem to regularly be broken), and I am in a non-smoking building and sometimes I smell smoke, but the office regularly sends reminders and will give warnings to those who are smoking. Most of the people who live here are professional and are quiet, friendly, and respectful. There is some riff-raff, but this is apartment living afterall. This is a VERY dog friendly community with few breed and weight restrictions, so if you are afraid of dogs or just don't like dogs, this might not be the place for you to call home.

Many of the reviews that you will read comment on how friendly the staff in the leasing office. I thought the same. And they were great, in the very beginning. But once you have signed that lease . Best of luck to you. They have a 30 day trial period, and if you are still in it, I would advise you take advantage of it. Moving is a pain, but living at the Savoy is worse. We had a unit in the older section of the property. I m pretty sure the plan is to let them rot from the inside out, and the raze the whole section. The buildings really do look nice from the outside- fresh coats of paint do a lot for a place, but once you get inside, the quality is not what you would expect for what you spend to live there. Our unit was on the second floor, and we really did live in a community. We got to hear every dog bark, footstomp, closing door, shower, dishwasher cycle, and jet engine (aka the garbage disposal) that happened between the three floors. We also got to smell whatever the neighbors were cooking, and partake in the second-hand smoke of everyone nearby. None of the doors closed well, and since we shared ventilation ducts, our house smelled of smoke, and if we left laundry in the laundry room, we smelled like smoke too. After asking the office to do something, they informed us that we could move to the new buildings. And pay an upgrade fee, utility transfers and more in rent each month. Colorado law says that common areas must be safe and smoke free, but apparently the Savoy exists outside of Colorado. We would have been happy with a carbon air scrubber. Everything inside the place is cheap. The dishwasher is so loud you can t talk when it s on, and the garbage disposal was so loud I honestly thought someone was crashing a plane into the kitchen. It was hard to exaggerate. Doors and cabinets aren t hung at 90 angles and the plastic laminate peels off the cabinets all by itself. In our floorplan, we were over the garage of the person below us, and I don t think there was any insulation at all. We checked the temp in that room one night in December, and it was 38 . I get that properties age and renters can be hard on a place, but what really was vexing was how the office would respond. If they every called back or answered emails, it was generally to imply that you were crazy for wanting something done, or to tell you there is nothing we can do. No rent credits, concessions or even apologies. The office staff is powerless to help you, and incapable of following through with the few thing they agree to do. Parking can get pretty tight, but it s livable. The location is really what this place has going for you. Oh, and if you live in the older units, you don t get to access the fancy new amenities built for the new buildings. Go live at AMLI Inverness or the Presidio. They have their issues, but at least they care enough to pretend to try and fix things.

All the negative reviews on this sight are true, but doubled. The apartments look nice, but the neighborhood is very scary. Half of the people in the non-smoking community smoke and don't get evicted. The building has no insulation and smoke comes through the vents and walls like you're in a bar. Cooking odors are bad too. Noise is absurd. You can hear everything above and around you. People walking and talking beside and above is you is very loud. The new area looks very nice but, living here is like a ------. Don't go out at night. It's not safe. My girlfriend has been approached and followed. We are in the new buildings. Are animal and baby are having allergy problems from the smoke. Our eyes sometimes burn. The office seems to have good intentions but, they have no protocol for the following of rules. They get very defensive if you mention the non-smoking lease addendum. We have been here almost a year and are moving as soon as our lease is up. Nothing ever changes no matter how much you complain. Please be cautious.

We love living at the Savoy at Dayton Station! We live in the brand new builings and couldn't be happier! Of course there are minor complaints, but you will have that when living in any apartment community. We have lived here since September and are so glad we chose to call Savoy 'home'. We love that our apartment came standard with granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, modern cabinets and light fixtures, large bathtubs and closets, and energy efficient washer and dryer. It makes our apartment feel cozy but modern. We love that the new development is smoke free! It makes breathing a bit easier and we don't have to worry about shutting our windows on a perfectly nice day. We have visitors that will come from out of town that smoke, and they don't mind walking outside to smoke, it's their choice to smoke but it's our choice to live in a smoke free community! I love the central location and althought we don't use the light rail, it's nice to have that option for us. The Savoy team is very friendly and efficient and if a maintence call is made, they are usually there by the next day (if not the same day). The negatives are that the outside walls aren't insulated very well, so in the winter time, it gets very cold in our second bedroom (we just use a space heater on super cold nights). Another negative is that you can hear hallway noise like crazy if you are in rooms that share walls with the hallways (we don't usually hear anything from our bedroom), but we thankfully have a building full of (mostly) quiet and respectful neighbors. We live on the third floor and never hear our neighbors below us, and have only heard our next door neighbor a few time. We have had to make a noise complaint on two occasions, and the staff addressed our concern immediately! We love living at the Savoy and will stay here until our family outgrows it. We would recommend living here to anyone!

I have lived at the savoy for going on 3 years now, we recently moved in their newly built apartments, originally we liked the look alot, but after living her for about 8 months we are not impressed anymore. Our neighbors above us have a dog, that we can hear run around all the time. Also to comment on another poster sure the apartments are loud but the builders could have insulated the apartments I don't like getting a noise violation for watching my television on a Sunday afternoon at normal volume. Also this complex has a tobacco policy that I understand was snuck into my lease, I don't smoke but when we have friends over who do they are to aloud to smoke on out balcony, the have to exit the building and cross the street. With the money I pay for this place a better damn well be able to have a friend smoke on my balcony. We used to love this place but every week we are finding it harder and harder to enjoy living at the savoy at Dayton station.

Run, especially if you want to live in the new units. So much noise and such a joke, just in the not funny and make you go insane kind of way. The construction is extremely poor, absolutely no insulation in the walls, lack of parking, and rent is excessive. Let's break it down. If you would like your lights to flicker because the "brand new" light switches are ----, live here. If you would like to pay $1400 for an apartment without ceiling lights or fans in the living room or bedrooms, live here. You you would like to hear your neighbors below, above, and beside you, live here. If you would never like to sleep because of the excessive noise at night, live here. If you would like to park on the other side of the community, or have friends park far away from your apartment due to lack of parking, live here. If you would like to be gouged and have every last penny in your wallet stolen from excessive hidden fees in a packet the never let you see, live here. In other words, you can find a better apartment in a much better location for equal or less cost than this sh*thole.

I am glad to see that it is not just us dealing with loud and rude neighbors contrary to what the office tells me when I call. I too made the mistake of renting a first floor unit in one of the newly constructed buildings where noise and other issues from the previous phases were supposed to be taken into consideration, and was told that they were getting positive feedback on the new buildings. Well that probably was the case when the buildings were still mostly empty. The building is pretty much full now with people that have no concept of time or courtesy when it comes to noise, there are constant parties and gatherings that have the atmosphere of being in a bar or club where there is no filter on screaming, banging on the walls and floors, slamming doors and children running and tumbling on the floor and into the walls as if they were on a playground. Every time I call management I am told this is normal apartment sounds and everyone has the right to live and act as they please. We were then given the option to either pay more money and move or just deal with it, but don't say anything to the people causing the havoc. The courtesy patrol is a Joke and never respond, and as of late when you call and select the option to be connected to them the call drops. We have a few more months of torture to endure, since like other reviewers we don't have extra money lying around to pack up and move. If this is how all apartments are which is what I am constantly being told by the office then there is definitely places you can live that are less expensive and are better made then this. Like someone else said the office staff is very nice while you are an potential renter, however once the lease is signed and they get your money then all bets are off and its rent and live at your own risk. The police won't even respond unless someone gets hurt or there is property damage or theft if then.

Paper thin walls. Made several complaints to management and nothing was done. They told me since I was unhappy that I could move out early if they found someone to rent my unit. They found someone and in the end they said I wasn't out in time and it took them 2 weeks to turn my apartment. I am OCD clean and they should have been able to turn my place in 1 day! Parking was okay but I was fortunate enough to have a unit at the corner of the property. I had ants coming from under my stove and I didn't get rid of them until I bought spray myself. RE to managers response. The maintenance crew did come out to look at the ants in my unit. They said they everything was fixed. I was told that I could move out early and I had to be out by the 30th, so I scrambled to move out asap. I still got stuck with the bill and didn't get my deposit back. I was hoping you would take me to court like you said but instead I just get collection letters. I have the money, I'm just refusing to give in. We have discussed this and that didn't resolve anything. I just want to forewarn others of my experience!

The Savoy at Dayton Station We are wrapping up a year lease and could not be more glad to be leaving. This place is a total wreck. Walls are paper thin, and you can hear dogs, and people going to the bathroom above you. You also better like what your neighbors are cooking because you will smell it every morning and night and your apartment will always have a lingering smell of cooking, even if you haven't cooked anything. The front desk women are very short with you and have a very snotty attitude. (unless you are thinking of signing a lease) Besides the noise and smells, the only other thing is that if you live on the 1st floor, your back patio will have everybody's AC units right there, blowing 100 degree air at you. Ughhhh, as for positives, it is pretty clean and most people pick up their dog poop.
