Terrible management follow-up

I have never been more distraught in my life. I have the noisiest neighbors who insist on staying up until the sun comes up. I can recite every word of their conversations because the walls are so paper thin in this complex. It has been ongoing for two weeks and still nothing has been done about it. I seriously think at this point that I am going out of my mind due to severe sleep deprivation. The worst part..... they want to raise my rent $100 by the end of the month! Why on Earth would anyone sign a new lease here?

    Noisy... management could care less.

The noise is probably one of the worst things, and I believe that management probably seems to "care less" because the buildings were so poorly constructed that there is not much they can do to stop the noises. The worst part is the noise that comes from a garage door that is below my bedroom. My roommate and I live on the second floor and when the garage door below my room opens and closes it makes my floor vibrate, and the noise is so loud that it wakes me from a deep sleep in the middle of the night. I've reported this noise to the management at least 4 or 5 times now, and they basically tell me there is nothing they can do to fix it. I often hear loud rumbling coming from my neighbors upstairs surround sound and the bass from their stereo, and I can hear the bed springs of the bed in the apt. directly above me. One morning I woke up to my neighbor above's alarm clock because they continued to snooze and go back to sleep for about 40 mins. I could hear the alarm repeatedly buzz. Again, these are not things the management can do anything about since people are allowed to open their garage doors at 2am every night of the week, and listen to music loudly at 6pm (there are no "quiet hours" or anything of the sort)... If you are a light sleeper or enjoy your quiet, I would not recommend The Savoy. The walls are thin, and the place seems to be poorly insulated.

The savoy is a nice place ...But the environnment at times is not.

I did lived there for 3 years. I apoligize for the original typo but, it was from from 2003 to 2006. I am happy that the last poster did not experince the same as I have. One would hope that all of it tenants were not robbed and were as unhappy and frighten. As for as the break ins during that time all you have to do is call the police department inquire about any crime committed in the area during that time, within the last 3 years ask whether any of the crime happened in or around that area or even in those picticular apartments. they might even say it is about as safe as any other place given their view of that area. At least the reports would be enough to prove that what I am writing is true. At least for me,I was a victim. However I still feel scared when I think of someone coming into our home. Reports would speak for themselves. There is no happiness in sharing the misfortunes and unhappiness of living in a place. what is sad is that the property shows very elegantly. The staff appears flawless Everything is wonderful until you've become a victim of the environment. what could a poster gain from speaking of their frightening experiences from a place they no longer lived. If it wasn't for the bad experince there I would have a different view. Everyone should have a place to call home. When you pay alot to live in a place, you should at least feel safe. I didn't feel safe I will admit it. Our apartment faced west there. Westward is an open field where police officers used to pull over drunks from the club that was on the leftside of the street driving hampden going east, on friday nites. They use to give tickets to strange folks parked in our alley ways in our parking lots, wrongly parked cars in front of our garages. Parking wrong was not permitted in entrance ways because the parking areas were too small to accomedate the extra cars. I do have a question, just curious, If you really are a tenant, and are so happy living there, and NOT A STAFF PERSON... why are you commenting on A RATING SITE? AFTER ALL, YOU ARE HAPPY RIGHT? why do you care? GRANTED The building of the savoy is beautifully kepted the grounds are as well. The maintence folks are awesome. Once again, the savoy is a nice place but the environment at times is not. our apartment faced walmart, there was the strip mall there, and there was a lot of traffic. The building it self was shaky when your neighbor closes their door the whole floor shakes. for a building that was not very old they even had to replace the floor in one of the apartments because it was too loud for another tenant. AT Least thye fixed it. It was not quiet for us either and I don't wish to return. Clearly, I was not the only person unhappy there. There is more than my complaint on this site... Think about it.

Too close to walmart's unpredictable customers...

I stayed for 3 years, the environment started to change and I didn't enjoy it. my apartment was broken into before Before i lefted I cleaned the stove and even replaced the the burner covers and I had the walls cleaned and removed all of my belongings. We vacuumed and cleaned the best we could. The final report was said that I did not even try to clean the apartment. They really lied. To even move in they charged me $1250.00 deposit in october 2003. When I left I asked if I owed anything they said no. I could not sleep there because the noise at night. It is right up the street from the heart throb a night club and we got all of their lost customers. Some of them being pulled over for drunken driving right in front of the door.. Someone broke into our car. There is NO SECURITY for the expensive rents.Just awful! parking is a joke people use their garages for storage taking up all the available parking which would be assigned per unit. it's annoying. There are notices every other month warning tenants to make sure that their windows and doors was locked because of another break in. A criminal even broke in on a woman and her children there. The maintence people are great the office staff? hmm not honest and the rent is not worth the annoying environment. So my vote is no.

          Great Location

The light rail is only a walk away. There is a wallmart also within walking distance. To the East is a golf course and the south is the cherry creek dam. The management is always friendly and helpful. I would say that the walls are thin so if you have noisy neighbors you will hear them. The amenities are nice. I would recommend it to a friend.

            Nice place

I lived here for a year in a third floor one bedroom apartment. The good. The office staff is friendly and professional with very little to no turnover in the staff. The office also offers package drop off. So if the Post Office of Fedex/UPS delivers a package for you while you are at work they will sign for it. The mail boxes also have a few package delivery boxes. Both are nice to have and save you a trip to the Post Office to pick up your package. I only had one or two encounters with the maintenance staff when they came to change the filters in the furnace. The where knowledgably and friendly. For the first six months I rarely ever heard my neighbors. Just the occasional sound to the garbage disposal or a cabinet door slamming. During the last few months I got a new neighbor who would crank up his stereo sometimes during the day but never at night. The floors are concrete so that helps with the noise, The neighborhood is great. Which is probably the best selling point of the complex. There is no crime that I ever encountered. It s only a block away from a Super Wal-Mart and Pizza Hut. There is an Office Depot and small strip mall with a dollar store about 3 blocks away. There is a post office about a mile away. At the end of the complex about 5 minute walk there is the Dayton Light Rail station. Just across from the station and the freeway by way of a jogging and biking path. Is access to a regional bike trail. A very large city park and next to the park a large State Park. During the winter the city does a great job of keeping the biking/jogging paths clear of snow. As far as the apartment itself. It was very well priced with a garage with remote control for $85 extra. The apartment was very well maintained with high ceilings, plenty of storage space and knew appliances in a very well laid out and spacious design. My unit also had a washer and dryer, central air and gas heat. The bathroom had a huge tube in it. The Bad. I to had neighbors that would stomp their feet when walking up the stairs. They walked up them like they where walking up the side of Mt Everest and every step was physically demanding of their body. They allow dogs on the property. I like dogs but if you want to have a dog get a house. People didn t pick up after their dogs all that great and there where yellow stains all over what would have been very nice grass. There could be more sound insulation between the apartments. I had one or two small problems with water leakage that I reported but never saw anyone show up to take care of. It was mostly cosmetic damage and it was their property so I wasn t going to keep bugging them to fix their stuff sense it didn t bother me that much and I didn t own it. Some people also wouldn t open up the enclosures where the garbage dumpsters where and then toss in their garbage. They would just fling it over the wall and hope it actually landed in the dumpster. The worst thing I would mention is that when we got a big snow storm in December of 2006. The apartment complex didn t handle it very good and neither did the city. The sidewalks in the complex weren t snowplowed for a good week. There was just a little path. It was like they either didn t have a snow blower or had never heard of such a machine. The parking lots also where snowed in for a whole week. All they did was have someone do one light pass through. Then it took them a good 4 weeks to finally completely plow the lots outs. This after the snow thawed and melted a few times alternately turning the parking lots into either ice arenas or small lake. The city didn t do any better when it came to plowing the streets. They where a total mess for a good 4 weeks. They had huge snow potholes all over them. I come from a snowy state and there they don t allow overnight parking on the streets which allows the city to clear them from curb to curb. It then allows people to park on cleared streets during they day so that apartment complexes and declare a snow emergency and tell everyone to remove their cars from the parking lots while the do a complete snow removal. In Denver I guess they just do a half A@% job and hope the rest of the snow melts. Overall I would move back again and would recommend the complex. Yes there is noise like in any apartment complex and jerks who don t respect others. But they are very nice new buildings at a good price. Professional staff and an awesome location close to basic stores and green space.

You do not want to live here!!

I moved here in January. I can't wait to move out!! The people in the office are very nice as well as the maintenance crew, but the noisy level is incredible!! People are slamming their doors at all times. They go up and down the stairs like wild horses. It is impossible to sleep!!!

                It is Ok

I have lived here for 2 years now, the first year was great because it was quiet and everyone picked up after there dogs. Now we have the loudest people above us who stomp and make our pictures shake and the people next to us who party all the time and have the loudest T.V. in the World. We are the only ones who actually pick up after our dogs, people over here are just disgusting. The office staff seems like they think you are always wrong if you have a complaint and be little you. I think it would be good if it was not next to walmart, it seems to have the people who love walmart becoming its renters.
