What last poster said is so true. It's 12:40 am and the people upstairs are banging around and walking as heavy as possible all day into night. I hate this apartment and I've only been here a month. I've lived in many places but the noise level here is definitely the worst.

Great place to live for ex felons and the seedy type - Cheap is the word

Don't rent anything 2 or 3 bedroom unless you want to walk on egg shells because your neighbor's below will be really upset with you. Don't rent anything below another apartment or otherwise you will have to work/sleep off shifts due to the intense noise above you. If you are a smoker, this place is for you. If you are not a smoker, well, consider something else. If you drive a tiny vehicle, the garage's might work for you. Otherwise, your vehicle WILL be vandalized and items STOLEN from within WEEKLY. Only lock your car doors if you require new windows as your neighbors will smash them out to take your stuff. Bring a shovel too and don't plan on walking the beautiful sidewalks during snow season because they just don't take care of them. If you have children below high school there is a bus but otherwise it is a 2 mile walk/bike ride for your older ones. Easy for them during summer but a nightmare during winter months due to poor sidewalks and immense traffic at the schools during drop off requiring an hour's time round trip. Nice on the outside but just so-so inside and very basic appliances.

      Great Place to Live

I moved in to the Savoy this Spring and could not be happier. The apartments are new and clean and I've had zero issues since moving in. You will be hard-pressed to find a better deal on apartment living. Having lived in numerous other apartment communities, including some 'luxury' apartment homes, I've dealt with office/leasing staff ranging from mediocre to downright nasty. You won't find that at the Savoy. Their office staff is excellent - courteous, prompt, and professional. Since my initial visit, they have been nothing but friendly and accomodating and they made the transition into my new apartment very easy. The newly renovated dog park, which borders the east side of the apartments, is very nice. I also enjoy the pool and excercise area, which are just a short walk from my front door. If you are apartment shopping, I highly recommend you check out The Savoy. I plan on staying here until I purchase my first home in the next year or so.

You will be proud to call this place home

I have never been in a nicer community, The Savoy has been the first apartment that I was truly proud to call home. I not only feel safe within the community and my apartment home, but I am extremely confident in both the office staff and maintenance crew. One of the men even helped me put air in my tire when HE noticed it was low! I never hear my neighbors, but when I see them they are quick to say hi and speak to my little one as well. The area is sfae, well kept, and honestly can say that I will be proud to call this place home for this year and the years to come. The staff has been so helpful friendly, and they not only have taken the time to learn me by name, but they speak with my daughter like they have known her for years. If you haven't visited the Saovy, stop looking at start living HERE!

            Loved the Savoy!

I loved living at The Savoy! The office staff is amazing and very helpful and curtious. The maintenance team is always friendly and takes care of every concern or problem you may have in a very timely manner. I have a black lab and the Savoy provides an area for my dog to do his "business" and they have doggy bags provided. I would recommend The Savoy to my friends and family any time!!

Are these other reviewers living the same place I am???

I have had absolutely zero problems here the entire time I've lived here and, compared to other apartment complexes I've lived at(I've lived at quite a few), it ranks at the top of the list. The grounds are obviously well maintained, I never have the parking problems that everyone is complaining about, and the leasing office staff have always been very helpful. There's one tall, brunette girl named Amanda that has stood out since I got there. Since I moved in, anytime I go into the office for something she always has a smile on her face and is very warm and inviting and makes sure I'm taken care of ASAP. It's service like this that makes you feel at home! And no...I'm not a member of the staff haha just felt like commenting after reading some of these crazy reviews.

                Horrible place to live

i understand living in an apartment you will hear the people around you some but the amount you hear here is crazy. in my bed room i hear the person below me's heater EVERY time it kicks on. it sounds like one of those fans in the bathrooms. and if you live on the first floor people walking by look in your windows and once someone stopped and took a picture in the window. people also leave beer bottles, used condoms, and other things on the ground and some times on cars. one night i went to use the pool and there were people smoking pot by the pool.

                  Think Again before moving here

When I first moved here in the summer of 2009, I absolutely loved it. As the months went by I saw the mess I had gotten myself into. If you live here you will know EVERYTHING your neighbors do, nextdoor, accross the hallway, upstairs, and even below. You can hear everything in the parking lot too, due to cheap windows. In the winter people are scraping off the snow and ice on their car, snow plows, car doors slamming, people talking on balconies, and if your room is wall to wal with the stairs, you can hear every footstep taken, every conversation, and every door that is opened. The girls in the office are very rude too, not only are they unhelpful, they make you feel stupid when youre talking to them. Parking is okay, but not safe unless you have a garage which is an extra 75 dollars a month for the remainder of your lease. There have been multiple cars damaged, windows broken out, tires slashes, and cars broken into. I cant wait until I move out of here and move someplace where the people I am paying respect me. Watch out for the fees they will charge you, seems like every crumb you drop in that apt will cost you 300.00. Look someplace else!

                    Don't bother

Office staff is flakey, obnoxious and incredibly rude (especially to minorities--racist?!). Maintenance team sucks--they continuously disregard my instructions not to enter my unit until they notify me. Problems with pests--ants in our case. Any issue is not taken seriously until I walk into the office and complain for the 3rd or 4th time. Not worth the price or the convenience of having the Light Rail and Walmart so close. Highly recommend that you look elsewhere.

Outrageous price, no maitnenance, no safety, car window broken.

I have been living in this apartment for past one year and not looking to renew our lease. When its time to renew my lease they have increase it by more than 20%. During winter time no one comes to remove snow on parking or path ways. Recently three car windows were broken in this apartment within a month and so far no addional safety precaution has been taken. You can hear alot of noise from your neighbouring walls because they are so thin. When you complain to the managers over here no one listens to you either for noise or for safetly and maintenance work. I would highly highly recommend someone to NOT move in this apartment.

I have lived here one year and pray this will be the last one. when I first moved in I thought this is great. close to the lite rail, near shopping, etc. I live in one of the Metropolitan apts. the walls are paper thin, the building windows probably have not been washed since the buildings were raised, and the echo from the entry YIPES, plus parking must have been an after thought.

                          Love, love, love!

I absolutley adore living in the savoy! The apartments are beautiful and spacious! The grounds are always kept immaculate including the 2 pools, 2 fitness centers, and clubhouse! The office staff is extremely friendly and helpful and when I have had a small maintanence request it was fixed within 24 hours! There is plenty of parking and I hav never felt unsafe walking around at night because everything is so very well lit up. Not to mention the excellent location, walking distance to the lightrail, walmart, village inn, starbucks and many more things in the area. My one and only complaint so far would be the noise. You can definetley here your neighbors around you, but it's no worse then any other apartment complex I've lived in before. And The Savoy tends to attract younger professionals, so you don't a lot of noise from kids which is nice, because there aren't too many here :-) Love love love it here, i would recomend it for sure!

Ok overall, but disappointing, outragous prices and fees

I lived in a 2 bedroom for a year and a couple months. It was a good price, and very spacious. The bad thing is that you could hear all the neighbors-across the hall next door, and upstairs. Always hear people walking and running up and down the stairs. got real aggrevating after a while. Paid like $80 for a garage that was on the other side of the parking lot. Shortly after resigning the 2nd yr lease, we ended up moving to the 3 bedroom. They charged us over $100 to replace blinds that in my opinion were fixable, with the extra pieces on the bottom. Insane fee for something so simple. For any pets, you have to pay a NON REFUNDABLE pet PRIVLEGE FEE. NOT a deposit. If you think you're getting that back or getting it towards any move out fees, think again! This is no deposit that goes towards pet damage in the apt. The 3 bedroom was very large and i loved it when I first moved in. But then you start to realize how awful the apt design is. Draft windows, and unused space above the living room just made for big heating bills to stay warm even if a sweater was worn in winter with the heat turned to 69 or 70. I lived in this apartment for two years and my lease ended march 2009. You could hear so many neighbors around us.(Including the ones beneath us, across the street, and ones that lived 2 apartments away from us. Could hear everything that happened at the pool during the late night hours. Then you have the neighbors with dogs that wouldn't pick up their poo. Watch out where you step! The walls had crap paint and drywall on them to where a chair or any object hit the wall, it would chip off! When we resigned for the 2nd year in the 3 bedroom, they tried to raise our rent from $1340 to over $1500! I soon gave them a piece of my mind, and rent was then $1460 and pet rent raised from $15 to $25. Then you had the disrespectful neighbors that liked to park in non-parking spots and in front of the garage making it hard or impossible to get out of the garage. I just received my bill from my move-out last week. Now, after 2 years living there, I thought we left it in good condition with minor wall scratches. We broke two wall lights while moving out, which I am willing to pay for. But then I saw that they were charging us $1172.87 to replace all the carpet! Are you kidding me!? 1st of all that is something that should be replaced after every tenant, but if it was shampooed, there would have been no problem with leaving that carpet in the apartment! I could understand replacing the living room carpet, because there were wine stains that turned the carpet yellow. But everything else was completely cleanable! They dont have printers that could be used by tenants and one of the office staff memebers is a little slow and should probably be fired for how dumb she is. I might recomend this place for good deals when they come up, but beware of fees they will charge you once you move out.

It has a great management company

We moved in on a three month lease while waiting for our house escrow to close. The place was clean and property area's were kept clean. The whole complex is neat with spa's and workout out rooms. One draw back was the little kid next door banging on the walls towards the end of the lease. We only had one week to leave so not really that much of a problem. We recieved our deposit check quickly and was only charged twenty dollars for clean up. Guess it was because I didn't vacum one room when we moved out. Really did enjoy living here in a whole lot. The management was great about repairs and did them in a timely manner. However we did have to pay water, sewer and garbage which was the first time ever for us. Pet deposit was non refundable.

This place would be a very nice place to live in if the walls, floors or ceilings are very thin if you live on the first floor like i do you can hear your neighbors every foot step, even if they are walking normal, and if you complain to the leasing office they look at you like you are crazy. you can also hear the toilet flushing and everything. It is like living in the basement of a house no joke your neighbors dictate your life if you live on the first floor. I lived here for six years and I liked it but the noise is too much and I can't wait to get out of here! I have no reason to lie, so if you do decide to move into this place you will see, so you have been warned.

My husband and I lived here for a year and a half prior to buying a home. Overall, it was a good experience. I wanted to wait until we got the final paperwork before I wrote a review, but it was processed quickly and we received our prorated rent and a small portion of our deposit back. They charged us $60 for cleaning, which I thought was fair since we had a cat and didn't clean the oven. The positives were: our apartment was spotless when we moved in, I felt management was very responsive to any issues, and maintenance was always completed very quickly. The biggest negative was the noise, although I didn't feel it was excessive, but you could hear other garage doors open, and our most recent neighbor downstairs had a very annoying dog. But when I complained about it, the problem did stop temporarily. We also lived in one of the two bedroom places on the end, so we probably didn't have as many neighbors around us to make noise. Or maybe I was more lenient because I knew we were moving. The proximity to the light rail was awesome, my husband was able to commute to work this way and we saved a ton of money not having a second car, it was also great for going downtown. I loved having our own garage and entrance, it felt more like a condo than an apartment building. Our rent did increase, but since we only signed on for an additional 3 months, that was part of the reason. I know if we would have gone another year, it was going to be an additional $120 a month, however I don't feel this is unexpected in the current rental market. Demand is up due to the housing crisis. Having lived in many other apartment complexes in my time, I think this one is above average and definitely recommend it.

Don't live above a garage that is not your own!!

I live on the second floor... in the apartments that overlook Kennedy Golf Course. That sounds nice at first, but I live above a garage which is not mine. After first moving in last august I was woke up in the middle of the night frequently... I complained to the office multiple times and they basically told me there was nothing they could do. It seemed that for a while my neighbor wasn't getting home after 2am nightly and the sound didn't wake me in the middle of the night anymore. If only I could stay that lucky... the garage door has begun to wake me in the middle of the night again!! After repeatedly attempting to let someone in the office know that I could not take being woke up nightly, when I wake up at 5:30am for work everyday, I have given up and will be moving out for sure when my lease is up this august! I cannot wait to leave.... the noise is almost unbearable. I typically hear my neighbor's bass from their stereo at least 4 times a week... this is at 10pm when I'm trying to sleep to get up for work the next day. Most things about The Savoy are just OK. But the Noise most of all is unacceptable!! Two thumbs down.

                                          Awesome

I lived at the Savoy from May 2007 to October 2007. It was awesome, the staff was exceptional. The only reason I moved out was cause my husband and I were expecting our 1st born and needed a 2 bedroom. I read some of the reviews and disagree completely. I was shocked we got a refund on our deposit, i usually never expect a refund from apartment complexes and especially seeing as the deposit was so low in the 1st place. I really had a good stay there and the neighbors were humbling.

I wouldn't renew a lease here if THEY paid for it!

I read the fabulous review below me and couldn't help but feel sorry for this new tenant. I remember being that naive when I moved in too. This apartment complex is hell in disguise. Everything seems wonderful at first, but then....... your rent will increase several times and at nominal rates - and there is nothing you can do about it. Our rent increased $270 in one year. Also, they charge a ridiculous cleaning fee when you move out (I think they make these prices up). Mangement APPEARS cute and friendly - that's only a facade!!! They don't care an ounce about you or your living standards, because, if they did, they would follow up with noise complaints. You can literally hear the sound of a pin drop from your neighboring unit. I almost seriously murdered my neighbors. It should be illegal to increase rent by 20% - unless everyone is getting a 20% raise every year - bottom line - NOT WORTH IT. If I banged my head on the wall repeatedly, it would be more pleasant than the noise around here.

                                                Love My New Apartment!

I just moved into The Savoy and I love it! The staff is so nice and helpful. Maintenance always responds right away. My apartment was clean and perfect when I moved in and I feel totally at home. There are lots of places to walk my dogs and my neighbors are really nice. The Savoy is owned by Equity Residential. This is the second apartment community that I have lived in with Equity and I have always had great experiences at both communities. I would suggest Equity Residential to everyone!

                                                  Stay AWAY

I moved into these apartments in December of 2005 and they seemed nice and stylish for the rent me and my roommates would be paying. We even got one on the third floor so we wouldn't have to worry about noise. We were way wrong. Not only did our rent go up twice (which is acceptable cause it is not rent controlled) but it went up to a thousand dollars when we moved in it was 750. The carpet's were disgusting, and they said they were going to replace them before we moved in, after a few months they were coming up at the seams like we had been tearing them apart! Obviously they never completed that project. Then our kitchen sink kept getting flooded, from water, we even stopped putting any food down there and both parts of it would completely flood and then smell horrible. We also had problems with the nosie. People would run up and down the stairs next to my bedroom and would make noise on the METAL bars on the staircase. Why were they metal? Have no clue! The doors slammed shut, you could hear the people next to you in throws of passion. The fireplace smelled like it was going to explode every time. Not worth the money we spent on it EVER. We never payed rent late but we were always told we did we have notifications on our doors all the time, and we would pay on time EVERYTIME...they even told us we had to pay by money order, which we fought with the rudestlady in there. The management NEVER follows up and acts like they are so much better then you. Stay away from here if you possibly can they are the worst ever! Moving out was even worse. They told us three different times that we had to pay three different amounts to move when we had already made the flipping money order to move.... I can't wait to see if they try to charge us more money after we have moved out....
