By and large my tenure at 1600 Glenarm was positive
By and large my tenure at 1600 Glenarm was positive. I lived in a lower level studio for a year and a half. Management was extremely helpful, professional, and always provided relevant information in a timely manner. The leasing process was painless. The concierge and maintenance staff consistently provided a level of service that exceeded expectations. I used the shared facilities frequently and rarely had any issues with cleanliness or functionality. I did not experience any significant maintenance problems with my unit and all minor incidents were repaired promptly. My particular floor was well maintained and quiet. I opted out of the valet parking so I cannot comment on the level of service in that respect. It should not be ignored that on a per square foot metric price points at 1600 Glenarm are most likely higher nominally than most other area properties. 1600 Glenarm justifies these outsized prices with superior location and amenities. Anyone considering downtown living should certainly consider 1600 Glenarm keeping in mind one s own budget and preferences. The benefits of 1600 Glenarm largely outweigh the costs in my opinion. My decision to leave the building is benign and solely driven by outside factors.

Manager is the worst
I used to live there and the manager not only acted rude to any problems I had. Your car will take 20 minutes frequently to obtain from the valet and it may be damaged as they have damaged mine twice and didnt pay for it. I could go on and on about why not to live here... but the best is just to spend your money on somplace that is run more professionally.

1600 Glenarm Place is the spot to be!
Hello, My name is April and I have been a Realtor in Colorado for about 3 years. I started my search 2 months ago. As an experienced professional I looked and did research on almost every rental in Downtown Denver. 1600 Glenarm Place by far is the best building in Denver. I really enjoy the 24 hour valet parking, concierge, the business center, and not to mention the monthly activities that the staff host. This is my first time living in an apartment and this has so far been the best experience of my life. If you want to be in the best building come and check us out! You WILL NOT be disappointed. 1600 Glenarm Place speaks for it s self. I have been here for 2 months and will renew my lease for sure next year.

Stop with the fake reviews staff
I moved in to 1600 Glenarm earlier this year and I have been satisfied with my experiences so far. I am really only writing because I used this site to do research and I am unhappy that the office staff has decided to post false reviews many times over the past few weeks. The building is fun and very easy to live in but like most of the other newer places downtown is way overpriced for what you get. The conceirge is helpful but only if you get one of the two best guys that work during the day. The valet is a good service but is not GREAT. I got into my car the other day and it smelled like cig smoke (that seems to happen alot from the early morning valet guy before 7am). It is hard to say what my overall feelings are about the place, it is a great location and for the most part has been a very positive experience, I just do not know if the price is worth it.

Great location; friendly and helful staff
I moved in about 2 months ago and everything about this place is grade "A". All of the facilities I've used (exersize room, computer room, patio) are excellent. The apartment is quiet, especially considering the terrace is right above a busy city street. The staff is always courteous and helpful. There's no better location in Denver. It is expensive, but, you get what you pay for.

This is to inform you that we have lived in the Down Town Denver area for about 5 years and 1600 Glenarm is one of the best places to live. You could not expect anything but the best. I think the crew at 1600 Glenarm are absolutely wonderful, friendly, helpful and you live in the heart of down town Denver. Some of the nice things that they do is you car is always ready when you are, especially in the morning and you are ready for work you Car is there. The Staff members aways greets you by you name, this place make you feel special. I do mean special. There is no other place that I would like to live. Overall the Staff works as a TEAM and that TEAM work shows when you walk into the building.

Luxury Highrise Living
Beautiful building in downtown Denver right at 16th street mall. Valet parking that is fast, friendly and convenient. Beautiful apartments with views of the city and mountains. Friendly staff, free internet in cafe, small gym but always available, friendly and helpful concierge to direct you to all of Denver's happenings. A great place to live for those new to the area or those who just want to live downtown. The age group of residents is from college age to seniors. Everyone is very friendly. Great place to live and convenient location!

I love living here!
Glenarm is a fun, active place with great people. My husband and I just signed our second year lease. There is something very unique about coming home for the day and being greeted by a friendly concierge, and other building residents standing around chatting with one another or all on their way out to happy hour together. If you are looking for a place to live that offers beautiful apartments and all the benefits of downtown Denver, you're going to want to check out 1600 Glenarm. Not only does the staff put on classy, fun and well-organized events to ensure 'knowing your neighbor' but residents constantly have open-door gatherings. During ski season there wasn't a single weekend where building people didn't arrange a caravan to the mountains. I love that Glenarm business management staff, concierge staff and maintenance staff attend all building events. There is a definite family feel here that is uncommon for apartment rentals. The downtown location is perfect for people looking for easy social get-togethers. Happy hour at the bars surrounding the building is very popular among residents, as is grabbing a quick bite to eat at the Earls Restaurant or Cooks Fresh Market (located IN the building)or any number of downtown places. When you want to go home from LODO bars, its just a quick hop on the mall-ride to get back to Glenarm. FACILITY: Beautiful apartments. Appliances are all brand new, a lot of natural light, excellent views. The third floor patio has been fun all summer. Outdoor BBQ's, outdoor gas fire, plenty of tables-perfect! The computer lab has fast internet access, as well as free printing and faxing. The gym is small, but has treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes and weights. Is kept very clean. Large media room with many couches, big screen t.v.'s and full kitchen. Great for Bronco's games, watching Grey's anatomy or having a party. SAFETY: As a female, safety is extremely important to me. I appreciate that there is someone in the building at all times who can respond to anything I might need. I appreciate that when a stranger walks in, the Concierge staff will respectfully find out where they are going and who they are visiting. My friends and relatives have felt welcomed, and I always feel safe. Some buildings require key card access to get onto each individual floor. This is a huge hassle if you enjoy meeting your neighbors for coffee in their apartments, or if you want to go watch a Broncos game with your neighbor on another floor. Glenarm's set-up is not as 'secure' as some of these other buildings, but it creates a trusting atmosphere because you get to know people all over the building. NOISE: I have never had any trouble with noise here. Because I live downtown, I expect that if I open my window or patio door I will hear the sounds of the city. I can hear (and see) outdoor concerts from my balcony. VALET: The valet contract is with Silver Cloud and they do a good job. There is both underground parking and outside parking. I pay less for outside parking. This means that my car picks up the dust of downtown, but no more so than driving a few miles on I-25 in a Colorado Winter. I especially appreciate that the valets know my name, defrost and put on seat heat in the winter and put the air on for me in the summer. They also help you unload your car if you have groceries or heavy items. CONCIERGES: Amazing, helpful, excellent service. The concierges at Glenarm are professional, kind, and personable. They genuinely care about residents. My friends were especially impressed that they remembered their names and who they were visiting. Fresh cookies and coffee in the lobby every day. VALUE: Glenarm's prices reflect the services and professionalism provided. Though rents here can be a little higher than at other places, I have never lived anywhere that responded to residents so well and fosters such a strong community. OVERALL: This is a great place to land. I'm disappointed with the hyperbole and outlandish statements by a couple of individuals. It seems there are some people who will find fault with anything and can never be satisfied. I hope you will come see for yourself. I'm sure the concierge will greet you with a friendly smile and a cookie.

Finally FOUND - A slice of heaven
So I searched downtown for options ranging from buying a penthouse loft to renting to moving to some place 45 minutes away to find an reasonable option for a great apartment/condo/townhouse. Just when I was about to give up and give in to the trendy overpriced options, I stopped in at 1600 Glenarm Place. I have to be honest that some of the reviews leave me scratching my head as to the comments regarding the concierges, security, etc...Is this a $400 apartment? No, but then again, the $400 apartment also doesn't have a 24-hour concierge that can actually remember your name and open the door for you, a valet staff that makes you feel like they will actually take care of your car when you walk away, a management staff that calls you back and helps you when you need them, and a superb maintenance team. For instance, I was speaking with one of the management team members and mentioned I was here on business and needed to go buy a hammer to hang pictures. Without hesitation, she coordinated a time with maintenance for them to hang all of my pictures and when he showed up there were no questions other than where would you like them? He took care of everything and had a smile on his face the whole time. All of the staff I have interfaced with have a GREAT attitude and have made me feel welcome. As for the noise, this is an apartment building not a private residence with acreage, so while I have experienced a couple times where music was turned up a little louder than I'd personally like, I have never had problems with being able to hear things through walls or to the outside. I am actually in an apartment on one of the lowest floors and thought street noise would be a problem, but the minute I shut the door - it goes away and hasn't bothered me at all. The location is ideal to everything downtown and since I fly frequently, I have also had easy access to the airport. Everyone has an opinion, but mine is very strong that 1600 Glenarm Place is an excellent choice for those that appreciate some nice amenities, for not much more than those that have smaller places for a lot more money.

Confused by 8/1/2007 Posts
Although we just moved-in recently (July 2007), we're confused by both 8/1/2007 posts. I looked at pretty much every downtown and LODO rental building, and 1600 Glenarm was easily our top pick. Our second pick was to rent from a private owner in a condo building. All the other rental buildings, particularly in LODO, are cheaply built despite the trendy exposed duct work. SAFETY: Security in this building is the most sophisticated I've seen, and we moved here from Manhattan. AspenEye is right -- the service elevator does open into the back alley, but requires electronic key access to call. There's also camera surveillance. The apartment door locks are also electronically coded, which is a reassuring, high-end touch. NOISE: I wonder if AspenEye actually lived in this building. I live on the 6th floor. Yesterday there was a parade with marching bands on 17th St. With the windows shut, we could barely hear it. We've never heard a neighbor through the walls, floors or ceilings. We can sometimes hear neighbors opening and closing their apartment door just outside our door. But, come on. If you want silence, don't live downtown -- move to the suburbs. VALET/PARKING: Again, maybe we feel spoiled moving from NYC, but we are very pleased with the parking. For the last two months, we used the outside parking and never waited 15 minutes for our car. Average - 7 to 10 minutes. Just this weekend, we upgraded to the underground parking for winter. There was no hassle at all making the change. They moved our car inside within 30 minutes. And what's the big deal with taking two elevators to Earl's? Or, hey, how about going to the lobby and walking around the corner? Besides, a freight elevator is intended for freight. What's the point in putting money in the aesthetics of a freight elevator? The other 8/1/2007 posting mentions the lighting. We've never had a problem with the light fixtures, or anything else in the apartment. The appliances are high quality for a rental. Prior to move-in, tenants can choose free accent colors for 2 walls. The staff is highly professional. We never had a problem with package deliveries. A few of the staff actually live in the building, which I like. This means they experience the building as tenants. We've never seen the concierge staff eating pizza (?) or eating anything for that matter. When they leave the desk, they are gone for a few minutes at the most. In the last two months, I've passed through the lobby to find free breakfast one morning and wine and cheese one evening. I'm challenged to find anything to complain about. Oh, once I went to get free coffee in the Internet cafe and they were out of breakfast blend. And one other time, the water cooler in the fitness center was empty. What a dump! Seriously, this is a highly sophisticated building with great amenities. It's not a cheap building, and it doesn't feel like one.

Average living with a not so average price
If you like small crowed overpriced spaces this place is for you! If you prefer the finer things in life stay away! The management is generally unreceptive to ideas and ways to increase the image of the building. The employees are all friends so any criticism is not taken well or even dealt with. It is supposed to have 24 hour concierge, this is a joke. After 11 PM you have to look to find the concierge who is never at the desk. You can usually find him in the back office watching movies and eating a pizza! And some how he got an award after several months of myself and several other residents telling management to fix this. The light fixtures in the ceiling have been slowly falling out of my apartment as well as others that I have visited. The lighting in the apartments is a poor design stopping half way in all apartments. If you are looking for a penthouse look other places. They are generally small with very low insulations so if you prefer privacy you're not going to get any. Earls recently opened up so we got our own private entrance which is very nice. Except if you live on the floors 19-31. If you live on those floors you have to take the freight elevator to reach it. The freight elevator wouldn't be so bad if the tarp wasn't held up with duct tape. The ceiling is also raggedy looking with holes in it and partial patches over the holes. It is very embarrassing when guests ride in this elevator. After months of telling the management about this I have yet to see an improvement. I have also been stuck in a regular elevator for over an hour! And when finally getting out I was greeted by the property manager who was very quick to say "sorry" and quickly walked away! But I have met several residents since then that have also received that treatment with not so much as an apology letter. I have also been privileged to answer the door for another resident only to find the concierge at the other side for a noise complaint. Instead of asking to tone the noise down he told me (not the resident that lived there!) that for this first complaint the cops were being called and that resident would be removed from the property! That was the first complaint! Upon hearing this we relocated to another place. The concierge then proceeded to let the cops into the vacant apartment and kick a friend of the resident out of bed where he was sleeping! I live in a studio so I can only imagine how they would have treated me! All I can say is stay away from this shoddy building and even worse management and employees. Good luck in your search!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS TERRIBLE PLACE. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!
I am a former penthouse resident who signed a 12-month lease. I have been here for 11 months and am moving out early because I am unhappy with nearly every aspect of the building. It's no wonder why this building is having trouble being leased up! I was the 9th penthouse resident to leave because of inadequate service and safety. UPDATE 2009: I moved out 2 years ago and they are so strapped for cash that they are making up charges and trying to come after me for them. They sent me a bill for $15,634.00 to try to shut me up from telling people how bad the building is. That's not going to happen, this is a very poorly managed company. I canceled the lease within the terms because of the following reasons and so did almost everyone on the top floor: SAFETY: By clicking on the "SAFETY!" link at the top of this review you can verify that according to the supplied data there are 37.5% MORE registered sex offenders within a one mile radius of 1600 Glenarm than the average Denver apartment. As of this writing, the number of registered sex offenders was listed at 54 within ONE MILE. This is a 34% INCREASE since I left the building!! WOW. This is why the next paragraph is so important, and I wish it would have been taken a bit more seriously. Don't let your daughters or sisters lease here. Even after numerous requests, the building has still not secured the back alley access to the building. The front doors are secured by keycard access but that does no good if any vagrant can walk right up to the back alley and request the service elevator. Anyone can get to any floor (even the penthouse) through this unsecured dock entry. Beware! NOISE: The apartments seem to be extremely poorly insulated. Noise complaints are a weekly occurrence. Noise isn t just from neighbors, but from the street below. I m on the 31st floor; I can t imagine what it would be like on the lower levels dealing with the terrible noise at all hours of the day and night. VALET: The valet contract is with Silver Cloud and they do a good job with what they have to work with. The underground parking at the building left my car dirty nearly every day they brought it to me (I pay $250 per month for covered parking so it wouldn t get dirty). The outside parking was used for guest parking (you pay another $185 per month for this privilege). It takes the valets up to 15 minutes to bring your car to you if you do not have covered parking The building is out of covered parking as of this writing so get ready to wait a LONG time for your car if you decide to compromise your taste and move in. CONCIERGES: Laughable. No real service. When I moved in they said they would deliver my packages. Just last week I waited an ENTIRE WEEK for them to remember they had a package for me. If something is sent overnight, it must be important. The concierges are helpful if you ask them to buzz you into the building. Tipping them doesn't seem to help either. Also, they just hired a new concierge by the name of -----e. -----e looks like he just came from a soup kitchen and will be certain to leave any guests you have with a less than favorable impression of the building. VALUE: At the end of the day this is simply a very average apartment in a remodeled 60 year old office building. Because of that you will have general maintenance issues often. For example, I have been trapped in the elevator on 2 different occasions for a very long time. Both times, only a verbal apology was given. I live on the top floor and if you want to get to Earls Restaurant, you need to take the poorly maintained SERVICE ELEVATOR to reach the entrance. If you have guests you will find yourself apologizing for the elevator. When you are paying over $4000 a month for a rental, you shouldn't have to apologize for the condition of the facilities. Don't use price as an indication of quality. You would be better living at the new Hyatt next door for the same price. Then, maybe you would get decent service. OVERALL: Run! Don't walk from this place. If you have discerning taste, you will choose to live in another high rise building. If you want to talk to me further about this, please contact me via email with your specific questions and I will be extremely happy to speak with you. klchavez@hotmail.com Read more: http://www.apartmentratings.com/rate/CO-Denver-1600-Glenarm

Never experienced apartment living like this
Okay so yes.........definitely a little (or a lot more) than I have ever spent in renting but the saying is true. You get what you pay for! The two maintenance issues that I called in about where addressed within hours. The service team is so efficient and friendly. The concierge team is always there to greet me when I get home each night and they deliver my packages and drycleaning to my apartment. On my birthday I opened my door and to my suprise I found balloons along with a birthday card from the entire team. This is the first positive experience I've had as a renter.<br>

Good Place to Live
I have lived at Glenarm for 6 months. The valet team is great and always willing to help out with anything. They even have my vehicle ready and waiting for me in the mornings. The concierge is good at getting discount tickets. The office staff I think has a little work to do. Sometimes they aren't the best bunch to have to deal with but I know that they try their best to make living here a home.

You get what you pay for...
1600 Glenarm is beautiful, but, yes, it is pricey. My heat broke and about a half hour later someone was there to fix it. You can't hear anyone around you!!! The walls are thick and not paper thin like some other apartment buildings. It is mostly older people or young professionals. If you are looking for a college atmosphere, this is not it. The building is very secure!!! If this is important to you then you will love this apartment. The staff is helpful and most of them are nice. The view from my apartment is amazing and the apartment is gorgeous. There is valet parking which is great. If you have the outdoor valet, you must give them adaquate time to retreive your car!!! If you don't call ahead on a busy day, you might be waiting for a while. If you can fit this into your budget, it is well worth it. Everything is brand new and it is right on 16th Street. The location is amazing!!!

Quality
I have to say that I am quite impressed with the level of service that I have received from the entire staff at 1600. Everyone is genuinely friendly and so accomodating. The concierge team can get you Broncos tickets and make dinner reservations for you. What more can you ask for? It's definitely not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Oh and now Cook's Fresh Market is open in the building! Defintiely a unique building and very well done! A lot of other apartment buildings could learn a few things from the staff at 1600.

Pricey
I moved in this building expecting the best and I would agree that amenities are nice but 1700.00 for a one bedroom is a bit to pricey, especially when you see the apartment, nice but i have seen just as nice maybe even nicer for cheaper. For the most part the staff is nice, and it is nice having free valet but I am not sure that I wanted to pay that much for rent. I think people can spend their money a little more wisely than that.

Great Location
It is so rare to find something downtown and brand new that when I came across this community it was a bit out of my price range but I made it work. Between the valet parking, concierge, and staff that has been more than accomodating I don't intend to move any time soon. They deliver my packages to my apartment, I can place a work order online and know that it will be done the next day and the fact that no one has lived in the apartment before me is priceless. It may not be the cheapest, but you will see why when you take a look

Certainly The Best
I just moved in at the end of March and the experience has been very good. My apartment has great views of the city and mountains. The staff made everything easy for me and there was even a maintenance person present during my move-in to help with the freight elevator. There isn't anything else like this in Denver. I looked everywhere. I wanted to rent a condo, but this is so much better. The valet parking and concierge was the final piece that helped me make the decision. This certainly is not the cheapest place in town, but you get what you pay for.
