BEWARE if you value sleep!!!! I just moved into the Phase 2 apartments and I have hardly slept through a single night since. I normally sleep fine through noise, but this building is directly on top of NY Ave and 395. If this is not enough, there is a loud construction site directly next to the building. I got a white noise machine but it is useless against the endless sounds of people slamming on their car horns in morning and evening rush hour traffic, motorcycles revving by, firetrucks, ambulances, and police cars. I am used to city noise and have lived in D.C. for many years, but this noise is on a whole new level. For a building this expensive, the price is not worth it. On top of that, Meridian charges unexpected fees everywhere they can. I was even charged a "convenience fee" for paying rent! Why do I have to pay a fee to pay rent? Someone from leasing keeps replying to all the negative reviews telling people to call the property manager. Just an FYI- no one ever answers this number. Side note- the Meridian website shows photos of all the apartments having painted walls. I was excited to paint but when I moved in I was told by leasing that painting the walls is expressly prohibited in my lease.

The building is well-maintained and overall a decent value for the (high) price to pay for it. Some of the amenities - the gym, the pool, etc. - are a bit small given the size of the community, especially since the Phase 2 building opened. These common areas/amenities are shared by both buildings.

I love living at the Meridian. The staff is so courteous, the facilities are super clean and whenever there is a problem, the maintenance staff responds very quickly! I think the Meridian is especially geared toward young people in their mid twenties to mid thirties.

It's a diverse community. Good staff with even better amenities. The one minus might be that there are a lot of younger people just getting started who are a bit of a mess, but the staff does it's best to mitigate them. Repairs and concerns are done quickly and properly.

I've been very impressed with the apartment, the location, the maintenance, and the management. the management team and maintenance staff are very professional and responsive. The building is clean and well maintained. The interior apartments lack decent sunlight, but I'll blame that on the architect. Overall the building is fantastic.

It's great, but apartments are expensive. The roof deck and pool are beautiful, but overcrowding makes it tough to plan on using them. I got a great move in special, and it was well worth living here, but I doubt I'll remain if rent increases as I expect.

I very much enjoy living at meridian mount Vernon triangle. It is clean, safe, and the staff is very friendly. All my maintenance requests have been handled in a timely manner. The only complaint I have is lots of street noise, honking and sirens and construction

We moved here from New York, and wanted to live in a neighborhood that still felt like the city. MVT has been wonderful place to relocate to. Due to the construction on both sides, it has proved a little difficult to get in and out as a pedestrian, however. Especially when you want to make a trip to Safeway.

Great community! Amenities are top notch! Property management office staff is always very polite and knowledgeable, and work very hard to address issues in a timely fashion. Concierge staff could use some improvement - they are frequently on personal cell phones and can be very irritable/unfriendly at times.

The Meridian MVT staff are available and very friendly. They work fast to get your maintenance problems fixed. I have had no problems with my apartment requests. The complex is clean and attractive. Though the complex can be loud on weekends, the sound proofing within the apartments is pretty good.

This is a great place to live. The apartment community is nice and very convenient. You can pretty much get anywhere in D.C. within 10 or 15 mins by Metro, bus or taxi. And you are walking to many different neighborhoods - Shaw, Chinatown, Noma and Logan.

There was a noisy neighbor's party at night I complained to the reception desk by call. She took care of the situation pretty fast and I got a much quieter night that night. It was very nice and appreciative. The amenity in the newer building seems better and quieter. I wish I had chosen not my building but the other.

The complex is very close to two metro stops and directly accross from a grocery store which makes for convenient living. It is a very pet friendly community, you can always spot dog-lovers taking their pets out for a walk or to the new dog park.

In our limited time (1 mo.) in the building it has been quite enjoyable. Clean, quiet, yet bustling (lots of dogs, which I thoroughly enjoy). Only complaint is surrounding construction that can be a nuisance in the morning. The gym is phenomenal.

Nice community but a little expensive. I guess you pay for the amenities. Love the new gym it's much bigger but it's cold in the winter and have to go outside. It is very loud where we live due to traffic outside and in the hallways but I guess there's nothing that can be done about that. Only thing that is really bothersome is late at night when drunk people stumble by and sometimes makes loud noises and it freaks me out when I'm sleeping but again nothing completely unexpected with where we live.

Building is in a great up and coming neighborhood. Staff is generally nice and helpful. A lot of young professionals in the building. The building is close to a not so desirable part of town but there have been no issues. The SafeWay across the street is very convenient.

The only downside is that the hallways echo and I can hear neighbors having conversations and it is very loud. In fact I was woken up at 4am on day because there were two people that were talking extremely loud in the hallway. I'm not sure how to even try to resolve this because it happens several times a week.

Friendly staff and OK amenities (the gym is fantastic, but was recently located to "Phase 2", a separate building with no convenient access -- not without having to walk outside, anyway -- for the residents of 425 L). However, the fixtures in the apartment are low quality and the walls are paper thin. I can hear every single movement in the apartments above and beside me. I live on the L ST side, so the noise from New York Avenue is not as present, but the construction work on "Phase 2" (thankfully, now complete), the 460NY Condos (almost done, but tortuous for a year) was bad, and bound to continue with the new apartment complex that just broke ground on the corner of L and 4th ST NW.

The amenities are always extremely clean and it's easy to tell that they are well taken care of. The leasing office is very friendly, but one of the concierge staff could be a little bit more friendly. We love our apartment but our neighbor's dog barks and howls incessantly. I have yet to bring it to the attention of management, but I'm interested to see how they handle the situation once I do. Wish the media room stayed open a little later, but we're still glad to have it. Also wish that management would have left the smaller gym in the phase 1 building and just added on to phase 2 with a separate gym. That was definitely a huge disappointment. Regardless of my last few critiques, we enjoy living here.

I have had nothing but a positive experience at the Meridian Mount Vernon Triangle. The leasing staff and front-desk staff are always friendly, helpful and professional - going out of theri way to address and solve any problem that may arise. I have enjoyed living in such an amazing property!

Living here has been great! There is a lot to do in the neighborhood, building staff are helpful, the building in maintained well, and we have a lovely apartment. Street noise can be a bit loud, but otherwise it is a wonderful place to live in the city.

PROS: Luxury apartments with new appliances, hardwood floors and granite countertops; efficiency of maintenance staff and friendliness of office staff; convenient location equidistant to two metro lines. CONS: Noise levels from fire station and immature tenants who ruin the common places for all.

Let's start with the positive: the front desk staff at Meridian Mt. Vernon Triangle are uniformly friendly and helpful. There is a large common area with many flat screen TVs that works well for viewing sports games or other events with friends. There is a fantastic view of the 4th of July fireworks from the roof deck. The negative: I feel nickeled and dimed at every turn by the management company. Fees and penalties for simple things like terminating a parking space lease. Rapid staff turnover in the leasing office indicates that it is a poor place to work. Amenities are substandard compared to other buildings in the area: gym equipment is not conducive to a standard workout pattern, the rooftop deck is tiny and quite crowded on the weekends, and the coffee machine is often malfunctioning (all this as compared to other expensive luxury buildings in the neighborhood). The building abuts New York Avenue and the freeway, so there is frequent siren and horn noise, beyond what one would find at a typical intersection. The neighborhood continues to be under construction with excavation and road repair for the foreseeable future. The subway lines are 3-4 blocks away depending on which direction one is headed. In general, the building is fine. However, it is a poor value compared to other new luxury buildings in the neighborhood and NoMA. In addition, the leasing office does not commit to customer service.

Signing a lease and moving into the Meridian at Mt. Vernon Triangle was such a convenient and smooth process. I was moving from out of state and only had a few days to search for apartments in DC so my application wasn't approved until after I left DC. With Meridian's electronic lease signing process, I was able to have a signed contract before arriving in DC. Many other buildings in the area wanted me to sign in person the day of move-in. Not seeing the lease beforehand and not having a signed contract before physically moving made me nervous. As for the move-in process it couldn't have been easier. My leasing agent Jaime took me to my apartment for a walk-through, covered a few more details regarding living in the building, and handed me my keys. I reserved the building's freight elevator for a few hours on the day of move-in, which made moving into the building super easy and stress-free.

Overall, I am very happy with my decision to live here. Rents are high in this neighborhood, but I found this place to be a bit more reasonable. Being on New York Ave isn't fun with traffic, but easily remedied with a white noise machine or fan. This is a really great dog community. A ton of people here have dogs and everyone is really nice.
