Cool, Cool, Coooool!!!
I'm moving to Florida in March. I was recommended this place by friends who live there, and flew to Clearwater last week so I could stay with them and shop around. My budget was enough for a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment in most communities, but not even enough for a 1-bedroom apartment at one or two plushy places. The quality of the apartments in the places within my budget did not come close to Coral Cove. I was offered a regular apartment for $800, which was better than the 'refurbished' offerings in the other places I saw, but I was offered an apartment for a little more that had tiled floors, brand new bathrooms, and a lovely hardwood kitchen. Coral Cove has a great atmosphere. The staff are delightful, have a wicked sense of humor, and seem to know most of the residents by name. The clubhouse is kind of retro, with really cool leather sofas, a small but clean gym with pro equipment, computers and wifi, which means I'll be able to work on my laptop around the pool. My friends love Coral Cove, but don't use computers. I asked them to give me their opinions on the 'star' ratings, and have included them below. I can't wait to move in, and will update this review as soon as I have settled in.

Stay away from this place
I am a former resident. I lived at these apartments for two years and am so very glad to be out of there. All of the bad reviews match my experience and more. We were subjected to 6 people living out of a two bedroom upstairs. The cops visted them regularly (always in the middle of the night). The last straw was someone coming to our door looking for the kid upstairs, armed. My boyfriend went out to see what was going on and saw a group of teenagers armed with knives, guns and baseball bats chasing the kid. ( I hope they caught him). We reported this to the management, to no avail. After we raised a big stink, the owner offered to move us to his other slum complex in Tampa. Needless to say, we left and never looked back. Although our apartment was in better condition at our departure than it was when we arrived, they kept the security deposit. If you are looking for a gangland experience, this is the place for you. The management (and we were there for several) were the worst. The maintenance staff would have been better if they were equipped with something other than duct tape and a hammer. They should gate it and keep the people that live there locked in. I have lived in apartments for the last ten years and without question, this was the worst experience.

overpriced
Coral Cove Owner and Manager: Do you care that all persons rating this community together only give you a stinking low 35% satisfied rating for the service you provide? For safety's sake, I cannot understand why you do not have an employee walk the complex after dark every night to see if something needs attention. Far too many phone messages for service requests are lost. My family is awakened by loud mouth drunks in the pool area all summer between the hours of 12 midnight and daylight. Many apartments are vacant. The owner just does not get it. It is time for a change of management as this group is the worst. I suggest to the Owner that he locate and hire a Certified Apartment Manager. ( A CAM is Nationally Certified and earned that certificate by attending seminars regarding the laws interpreted by attorneys and judges.) CAMs also learn how important service is by Leasing only thoroughly cleaned and repaired apartments and not just swept out as ours was. A vacant apartment once held by a good resident who left due to an uncaring, uneducated, staff, is a high cost to pay. We are looking into a home to get away from his madness.

Best Place I Have Lived At
I have no idea why others have given this place such a bad review but I loved it ..Yes it's behind a trailer park but in the year I lived there I never had any securtiy issues.I am a female that lived there for a year alone and never felt more safe.Noise I never heard my neighbors and they kept to themselves.Management as well as maintenence have done a great job. They immediatly take care of any concerns or problems. My Water bill and electric bill were low.Unfortunatly I had to leave becuase I needed a 3 bedroom. If Coral Cove would have had 3 bedrooms I would have stayed.I lived ther before new management and after and I can honestly say it just kept getting better

Don't waste your money here
Don't be fooled by the fresh paint job and new management. Nothing has changed for the better at coral cove. The apartments are small and prices are over inflated. This apartment complex is located right behind a large trailer park (that's the view I have from my porch). Safety is minimal with drug dealers and car jackers on the prowl. Buildings are half remodeled with structural damage and little sound insulation. Maintenance is slow and better at breaking things than fixing them. Staff has poor record keeping and is slow to do anything about disruptive residents. Our stay here has been by far the worst of all our renting experiences.

What do you expect?
What do you expect when the owner is a loser and looks like a bum off the street. He needs to go back to the U.K. and take his slum lord attitude with him. Maybe if he hired qualified office staff the place would run smoothly and the units would be rented.

KEEP LOOKING!!
Worst apartment experience EVER! The staff was uncaring, rude and seeming uneducated, totally lowbrow. They recently had a had a sign that said "Under New Mgmt.", and I would hope so. Any owner who would hire these jokers in the first place to run their property needs to be investigated. Please be careful when entering into this place, it is dangerous in my opinion. My neighbors had the cops out there weekly pounding on the door, it was very upsetting. Plus, these apartments are constructed very cheaply, I could hear EVERYTHING from upstairs and next door. There is constant loud barking from the sick dogs all night from the vet next door. I was without air conditioning for 3 weeks. Don't let the new paint and location fool you, this has to be the worst place in Clearwater. I could go on and on. I am so glad I am out of there.

it was a bad decision to renew the contract
well we thought there is a possibility that bad reputation can change because of new management.however, there is nothing changed since new management took over the apartment complex. Also, Quality of the fixtures, building material, sound & heat insulation, layout and design are very very cheap. Water is very expensive. there is no safety. power bill is very high because AC units are very old.

moving to the South...
My new job will be taking me to clearwater Fl. I have read so many reviews it is unreal! I do know that this is one complex I don't think I will consider moving into. I did walk the complex about a month ago and felt a bit uncomfortable, and after reading these reviews, I feel it best I look else where. Thanks for all of the rewiews and opionions, they were very helpful.
ccc

Great Place To Live
I have read a few of the old reviews and yes this place was pretty bad before the new owners took over. Since then I love it here. I just moved in to a larger one bedroom that was one of the upgrades and it is beautiful. My friends that visit have commented about how nice the place is. Yes sometimes they are a little slow when it comes to fixing things. The Assistant Manager Jasmine is wonderful. Her attitude is always upbeat. She remembers everyone by name and the kids that we do have here seem to love her. One complaint is the Property Manger, she is little cold and seems very distant from her tenants. If not for Jasmine we would have considered moving to a new complex. I seem to get things fixed fairly quickly and as for old things breaking down they are always willing to replace. The complex is centrally located, close to everything you need.

KEEP LOOKING!!
This place is a joke. The rent is outrageous and includes nothing! A separate fee for water, sewer and trash! Had my car and 2 bikes stolen, broken beer bottles and pet waste litter the place, people smoking weed freely at the pool side and our very own Coral Cove prostitute to tempt your man/husband...need I say more? oh, don't bother to call, because they NEVER answer the phone.

Do not rent here!!
Wow, I wish I had read all of this before moving in. The management is a joke, the maintenance is unskilled, the place is filthy. Children run around unsupervised, abandoned animals are eating out of the trash, glass bottles seem to have been broken everywhere. It is dangerous place to live. The outside lighting on most of the apartments doesn't work, so it's very dark at night. Drug dealers and gang members are in every building. I can't wait to move. It has been a nightmare.

Stay out of the Pool!
At 6 O'Clock the mexican landscapers come home from work and take a bath in the pool. There is never enough space in the laundry and it is always filthy. Some one stole my wifes panties out of the laundry room. She was mortified and terribly afraid.

THe music and parties are non stop. Aggressive ganster wannabees are all over the place.

Maintenace is a non responsive joke. If you are a family man or going to college you better find a better place to live.
I have lived in 3 different apartment complexes in Florida. This is the only one of the three that I had nothing positive to say about.

If you like to watch the flashing blue lights of cop cars, then this is the place for you.

Unethical treatment of Tenants
A major flood occurred in our downstairs apartment. The fire marshall deemed it uninhabitable. Management was notified and it took 2 days to hear back from them. They did not offer us another apartment or a hotel stay while they fixed damages. I am pregnant and had to stay in a mildew infested apartment with soaked floors and they could have cared less. The apartments are priced as high as they can charge by market values and the management team has not provided adequate service to tenants. The people next door were flooded as well and condemned by the fire marshall and they were stuck there too with no help and children in the home.
