Roaches
This apt was disgusting - it was totally invested by roaches. They were in the walls and nothing could be done. Couldn't even put my dishes/glasses/utentils in the kitchen cabinets because of the investation. The management hardly did anything for me. BEWARE do not rent here.

Keep looking
Southern Pines seemed nice when I first looked here but really the complex is just a nightmare to live in. When you drive in the roads are very tight and because ALL of the garages are detached it allows no room for parking or getting in and out. I just think for the money there are better, nicer places to live.

This place has really gone down hill in the past year
The landscaping is no longer being kept up except in the front. The sprinklers don´t work and no effort has been made to repair them. Parking is an absolute NIGHTMARE. No rules are enforced, so people park behind the garages all the time. The place needs painting and is really in very bad shape.

An Impressed Neighbor
I have lived in the neighboring apartment complex "The Preserve at Arbor Lakes" (Formerly Southern Pines Village). Let me just say, I have checked on these apartments about three times in the past few years when comparing to decide if I wanted to move from the Preserve at Arbor Lakes.

While Preserve at Arbor Lakes has changed management three times in three years and the Preserve at Arbor Lakes office managers are less than satifactory on customer service.

The Southern Pines apartments are very much the same apartment as The Preserve at Arbor Lakes. However, the "Southern Pines" office managers have been there almost six years(judging from the turnover at other places, that says something!). The pool deck during the summer always appears to be active (a plus for bachelors) and the facilities appear to be well kept. Most importantly, while my rent at Preserve at Arbor Lakes has increased every new lease term, amazingly Southern Pines still quotes me almost the same rate as the first time I shopped there!

Only negative is that the community does have some buildings that face Southside Blvd which could result in added noise and exhaust during the rush hours.
Beautiful place, great management!
Southern Pines has been the best apartment we have ever lived in. The office staff is great; they are always willing to help us with whatever we need and they always have a smile on their face!! And, the maintenace team is the best! The only reason we moved is because we had a house built. We would definitely reccommend this to anyone looking around.
