Love the place...staff needs attitude adjustment!

I really love the location, the grounds are beautiful and the neighbors are very friendly. The staff however, can be horrific. They don't really seem to care about your issues and they almost seem annoyed when you walk into the office. One lady in particular. The property manager, I believe his name is Eric...not sure, but he is very nice, but some of the others in there really need to come down to earth. Rent is going up 15%...not sure about renewing. All in all I really like the place. The office workers that seem to hate the tenants and the job altogether should leave or get fired.

What I've been through while living here...

A lot of issues are what comes to mind about my stay here. There are 3 good things about this place, the safety, grounds and the maintenance men. After that its crap. What to know who/what makes this place miserable? The leasing office is so terrible. I'm not going into too much detail, but lets just say each and everyone of them lie like there's no tomorrow. They are so stressful to deal with. Oh, I'll call you back or have someone call you back....lies. You tell them the problems with the apartment that need to be fixed and they clearly don't listen because the maintenance men end up bringing things to your apartment that were totally different then what you needed to have fixed. Open up your ears and listen to me leasing office. There's so much more but I don't want to give away who I am. Also, a big issue is the annoying people that live here. Slamming their doors 20 times in a row within 10 minutes. Partying sooooo freaking loud. Especially stupid drunk girls bringing a different guy into their apartment every weekend. Nasty! Loud music...just no respect for those who would like more peace. But, hey that's what you get for living in an apartment. Parking gets really crappy too. There's more, but I'm done wasting my typing skills on this place lol. I'll be happy when I don't have to live in an apartment again. Enough said.

        A horrible Place

This place is not all they crack it up to be. The parking is horrible!! Curtious officer my butt! All he does is go around and issue parking tickets to people who have no place to park there car. They do not have ample parking for the residents, then ticket you for making a parking spot. The landscaping over the last 6 months looks horrible, and they don't cut the grass enough. My small dog has to go Pee in grass taller then him. I can't wait until my lease is up. There are more negatives then positives with this place. Its very sad because it used to be a nice place to live.

          Luxury Slum Hole

There is not one thing luxury about this hell hole. Not one maintenance guy knows what the heck they are doing. The same guy who scrubs the grills (which don't work unless you toss a match into the gas grill)is the same guy who attempts to fix the airconditioner. I say attempt because that is sitting at a cool 82-85 during the hot summer months. They replace the filter once a month and it still does nothing. Their solution for an adjacent apartment is running a generator to fix the issue. No need to call the professionals, that would cost money that they are too cheap to spend. Our fridge has gone out and spoiled all of our meat and food. $300 food shopping down the tubes. Oh and people knocking on our door asking us to by newspapers, or pay their way on a trip, their no solicitating rules is not strongly enforced. Once guy even tried making his way in, kept glancing at everything in view. I suggest you stay away. We have been trying to buy a house to get as far away from here as possible. I suggest you do not add this on your list of places to come check out.

            Stay away!

I lived there from 04/09 - 04/10. Things to be aware of - 1. They tell you there is ample parking. This is a blatant lie. If you live in the Transom Court area you will face a parking nightmare. Even if you pay the extra $$ to get a garage, other people will park in front of your garage and prevent you from getting in/out. People also park in the fire lanes, around corners, and block entrances to the walking trail, forcing you to walk in the grass, and then you step in dog poop because people there do not pick up after their dogs. 2. They tell you that there is always a courtesy officer on-site 'for your protection'. This is simply not true. I had to call a courtesy officer on several occasions to either report the people in the downstairs apartments fighting or to report a car blocking my garage. One day there was a car blocking my garage. I called for the courtesy officer several times before someone finally called me back (3 hours after my initial call). When I finally got a call from the courtesy officer, he told me he was about an hour away from the property and that I would have to "find an alternate means of transportation" if I wanted to leave my apartment since my car was blocked-in. 3. The windows in these units are paper-thin and you will hear every time someone drives by or closes a car door. And, beleive me - you will be awaken at all hours of the morning by people coming and going. 4. Because of the poor-quality windows and insulation, be prepared to have the AC or Heat run constantly without stopping. My electric bills at my 1 BR apartment were higher than when I was living in a 3 BR house (built in the 50's). I can go on, but hopefully this is enough to prevent you from making the mistake of moving in to Post Rocky Point. On a positive note, the trail along the water is very nice and the landscaping is well-kept.

does not measure up to post property standards in any way

i lived at another post property in florida and had an amazingly positive experience there. left tampa - then moved back and took a place at rocky point. it has been a thoroughly disappointing experience. the apartment is second rate at best. problems w/ drains, problems w/ stove, mold growing on walls (literally), dust piles up daily from who knows where, garage breaks down frequently - (actually couldn't get my car for 2 days once), can't plug in hair dryer in master bathroom and make coffee in kitchen at same time otherwise fuse blows, etc., etc. while the maintenance staff does a decent job and responds reasonably quickly, it is the administrative staff that constantly nickels and dimes you. if you go to them for anything, they will blow you off. the concept of service doesn't exist for them. supposedly, that's part of the benefit of living at a post property. if you have a pet, you might pay a pet fee, then again, you might not. you might pay $500, or you might pay $750 or $1000. it seems to depend on the phases of the moon, or what was told to the manager in a dream that week, or who knows what! there is no consistency. they are not supposed to have pits or rottweilers, but guess what, they do. finding your water meter is like waiting for godot - supposedly it exists, but, noone has ever seen their water meter. water bills have actually been in the $100s and when questioned by residents, the admin staff does their usual bang up job of blowing you off and making you pay. plan on paying $1000 for your carpet when you leave, even if the carpet wasn't new when you moved in and it is several years old when you leave. i would suggest you get your own certified rug inspector after you move out to counter whatever this admin staff tells you, which will be that you owe them $1000 for the rug. there are a few standard lines you will hear from them that you need to follow up on, such as, 'our corporate office told us this.' generally, this is not true, so check for yourself. no matter what you are told, get it in writing. this is a very second rate place run by a third rate staff. it is unfortunate because it could be great. there are some wonderful people that live here. i stayed as long as i did because i hate to move and i loved my neighbors.

                DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!

I lived there four years. It was THE place to live when I moved in. The staff has since run the property into the ground and ALL of my friends and other young professionals I know have moved out. HORRIBLE management!!! Among COUNTLESS other complaints, I was charged $$$ because I did not "wipe down my countertops" when I moved out. There are much nicer apartments for less money with supremely better management in the area.

                  An honest review of Post...

I've lived here for a year and would of renewed my lease if I was staying in Tampa, but I'm relocating across the country. No place is perfect- but I do not think you can get a better deal in Tampa than Post. I have a 2/2 for $1004 a month! Both rooms are huge, with private baths and walk in closets. I had a roommate issue for awhile and it didn't really bother me because the apartment is so big and the rooms are spaced apart. Maintenance is attentive and timely- they usually respond to an issue the same day or next day. The complex is safe overall. When I first moved in, there was a note sent out to residents that 2 break ins to apartments had occured. I have not experienced any problems and come home late at night without worries. I can always park close to my apartment during the day, but sometimes coming home late, I have to park a few buildings over. The community is mixed from young people to families to older couples. It is pretty quiet and relaxed. My biggest complaint and word of warning to potential renters is make sure you can commit to your lease, because getting out of it is difficult. Halfway through my lease, I wanted to move to a different state when I lost my job but ended up staying because of my lease. You are not allowed to sublet your apartment, and they require 2 months rent to break your lease, and $2,000 was not possible to come up with at once after losing my job. I tried calling the corporate office to see if anything could be done and they said no. The location is nice and on the water. I feel close to everything but not right in the middle of it. However, besides Bahama Breeze next door, you have to drive at least 5-10 minutes to get food. They have a convenience store on site at Post which comes in handy but is overpriced. They also have 3 pools and a gym, but you have to pay for a membership for the gym, which is $35 a month. Overall, I really enjoyed living here and would suggest it to others.

Do not move in!! You will get robbed in the end!!

I was a resident for a year. I ended up transferring to another unit and boy was it a mistake! You pay a $200.00 "cleaning fee" in the beginning but they will charge you for anything and everything once you move out. I have no pets and they said I had "pet damaged" and needed to replace the carpets. I hung a picture and they wanted to charge for fixing a nail hole. I painted a wall and took the time to prime it and they still wanted to charge me even though they have to paint the entire apartment anyway. To sum up a long dreaded experience they want me to pay almost $500.00!!!! These people are mad! I am a clean freak more so than the usual person. The has been a very miserable experience that I didnt think I would have to deal with. I recommend to any and all people looking for apartment living to look elsewhere. This place is a rip off and a joke. Good Luck! :)

I happen to like Rocky Pointe!

I moved to Tampa from Ohio and stayed with a friend for about a month while apartment searching. I looked all over Tampa, I looked downtown, in SOHO, in hyde park, in South Tampa, everywhere. I think I pretty much got the gist of what Tampa has to offer for apartments. I loved the location of Rocky Point and have lived in a Post Complex before and had no real big problems, and for the price $1145 for a 2/2, it is the best priced place for the type of apartment and location. The apartments cheaper than that were complete dumps with no where near the space and storage. I love the water front path and my neighbors are great! I live on Diamond knot circle if that helps, maybe I just got lucky with my location. I have had a couple of things that have needed to be fixed, but maintenance was there with in a day or so. I have had them come out for the dish washer once or twice and the a/c once or twice. I understand that not everyone is cut out for apartment living. Neighbors need to be understanding of one another, but you cant tip toe around your apartment and never play music! As to the complaints of trash, broken glass and dog poop everywhere. I do see trash in the halls from time to time, I have never seen broken glass anywhere, and yes people are lazy and really need to clean up after their pets! I dont understand the complaint of being far away for everything either. It takes me like 10 min to get everywhere I need to go. If you need groceries wouldnt it make more sense to get them on the way home, and maybe fill up your tank on the way! Not every place you live will have a grocery store and gas station within a 2 mile radius. Just facts people :) My biggest complaint with this place is the construction! I moved in here in Nov, and the contruction started shortly there after. I got a notice saying that it would only last about a month, when in fact it lasted about six months. During this time a huge chunk of our parking lot was taken over by equipment and workers vehicles that they would just leave overnight. It was so hard to find a spot and more than a couple times I had to park pretty far away. Overall I love it here! I have only lived in apartments and I am a very laid back person, so it suites me. I dont get mad about noise, well I dont really notice it to let it bother me. Anyway, if you are looking for a great location, nice neighbors, competitively priced, and fun place, look into Rocky Point.

Tired and scruffy apartments with cheap fittings. Constantly suffer maintenance people in to try to sort out the apartments and they just seem to make noise and cause massive inconvenience. Constant problems with parking, garages and access. Location is miles from anywhere. Over-prices shopette. There are better deals elsewhere in Tampa at better prices. Most of the positive reviews are clearly put on here by the management. Look elsewhere!

I dont know what everyone else is talking about! My husband & I LOVE this place! And No I am not part of Post Management. There is so much this place has to offer but it has to be what you are looking for. WE especialyl did not want lost of kids, which there really arent very many. We also wanted close access to a bar which Post offers walking private entrance to Crabby Bills. Sure its not the best bar but its great when you just want to get out for a few drinks & not worry about getting home. I will admit that some tenants do not do such a great job at closing the gate behind them so stragglers from the hotel next door sometime do sneak in. But the aptartments are great with great upgrades (granite, big closets, nice enclosed patios, garages on some units). We havent had too many problems with sound from above or below us, neighbors are pretty considerate. Although some neighbors do have large dogs & they bark A LOT! But just knocking on their door or calling the office does the trick. The only other bad thing I can really think of is that many dog owners do not clean up after their dogs, which is their problem, not the complex! Post provides several dog waste stations throughout the complex. Also, parking near the fron of the complex can be difficult late at night or on weekends but you can always find a spot farther towards the back. There is just limited space upfront & more availble in the back. Overall, we really like this place and enjoy living here very much!

                              This place sucks.........

My god, where do I start. We moved in a year ago, because we figured we might as well spend some more money and have a nice place. The day we moved in, they noticed I had a sportbike with me and I was told I had to get a garage......@ 125.00 a month... OMG !!! We dealt with that, but the tone was definetly set. The garage was all the way at the other side of the complex (a 5 minute walk to the apartment). Every now and then I would put my bike in a parking spot right in front of my apartment if I would get home from work and just stopping by to change clothes. They didn't hesitate to put a police-towing notice on the bike (a big red sticker) and told me my bike would get towed if I would park it outside the garage once more. Funny enough I saw a couple of Harleys and cruisers parked aroudn the complex which didn't seem to be a problem for the management at all. Then we started noticing that like previous ratings have mentioned this is a complex for loud, annoying, drunk frat people. There is no problem drinking, shouting, cursing until late at night (courtesy officer?????....Please...) but it is a problem to ride a bike... We started having more and more roaches and NOTHING was done about the problem despite mentioning it to the leasing office mulitple times. Just like other ratings mentioned there is a lot of noise, there have been multiple break-ins in cars, bad maintenance etc etc etc etc etc. This has been the worst experience of our lives and we're glad to have moved out after one year. We still asked if we could move to another unit or stay in the same one, but our rent supposedly went up 200 dollars, the garage 50 dollars, while later I called under a fake name and requested a rate on the same apartment we had. It was very funny to find out that we could get our old aparment for the same rate we had had before AND a month for free. Overpriced, badly maintained and the rudest sales personnel you can possibly imagine... A shame considering this could be one of the best places in Tampa. We now live in Brandon, pay the same amount but have 3 beds, 3 baths, garage AND it's brand new.......

Punk kids and frat boys - that's post rocky point

There is no courtesy officer, so don't be fooled by that. The property manager, Chris Fischer, does not care about the noise or garbage piled everywhere, even though roaches and rodents are becoming a major issue. Be sure to notice the rat poop along the walls as you walk through. The apartments that habitually pile trash outside their doors have large piles of rodent dung, but the rats have to walk by the neighbors to get to the trash, so their crap is everywhere. Bottles are smashed everywhere after a night of partying - almost every morning. Sure, they're quick to clean up the broken glass, but try being woken in the middle of the night to the smashing glass and ------- shouting in their ------ voices. Not pleasant. Plus, these freaks spit their loogies right on the stairs, spill their drinks everywhere, leave plastic cups wherever they happen to finish their drinks...a bunch of friggin pigs...they trash the place. It's sad, because it could be a pleasant place to live, even though it's overpriced and everything is cheap (fixtures, countertops, carpet, toilets, etc), if only they would keep it quiet and clean...they nickle an dime you for everything. Four dollars/ month for watering the grass, five dollars the trash, thirty five per person for the fitness center...and you get nothing for your money. I will be out of here as soon as possible...before my car gets smashed by someone trying to burn out of the parking lot at 5 in the morning...repeatedly. I lived in south saint pete for half as much as this, and the place was much nicer and much quieter. Don't let the nice landscaping fool you. Do not live here. This place sucks.

                                Great place to call home

Yes there are alot of young professionals who let loose on the weekends.... Deal with it. The rent is well worth it, consider new england rents. ($2200 for a 2/2) no view, horrible weather, no parking in the winter because of plowing. Grow up! Post R. P. is BEAUTIFUL!!! Not a family place, no.... but great for those w/o kids. Friendly prople everywhere, a car wash on site, golf, gym, market (High $$ but convenient) tennis, volleyball, garden, pools you can literally fish in the bay from, (I've done it) You will get the regulars who will ----- about everything, and they end up here because that is all they do... -----. Well we (my wife & I) loved this place, we got our security back 100% (you have to actually CLEAN your apt when moving out)including your carpets. That is what is expected of you when you sign a lease. No I dont work for Post, I live in CT now. I was cut loose from FL with the housing crash. So if youre reading this & thinking about renting here; ask yourself this -can you deal with some loud weekends -can you clean your place before you move out (security) -can you enjoy the sun/water/views -Are you uptight (if so dont move here) Thanks Post Wishing we were there, Allen & Susie

We moved back to Rocky Point from Westchase (West Park Village)and are thrilled to be back. EVERYTHING is great here..the staff is superb, especially Tony Leal and Nick Williams. The staff did MORE than we asked when we first moved in--amazing! This is as close to perfect living as we can find in Tampa. Other than some tricky parking issues, I would say this is the best place to live in Tampa, hands down.

THAT PLACE IS NOT FOR FAMILIES AND DEFINTELY NOT THE PLACE TO LIVE , UNLESS YOU LIKE DRUNK COLLEGE STUDENTS RUNNING AROUND , SPEEDING THROUGH THE COMPLEX IGNORING STOP SIGNS , HAVING PARTIES AT ALL HOURS BLASTING MUSIC FROM THEIR CARS AT 10PM AT NIGHT ON A WEEK DAY , REPAIRING THIER CARS IN THE PARKING LOT AS IF ITS SOM DORM ON CAMPUS.....THE GYM FACILITES IS A JOKE YOUR PAY AS MUCH AS AN ESTABLISHED GYM IE: BALLY'S ,ETC. BUT NONE OF THE AMENITIES. EVERYTHING IS A CHARGE AND SUPPOSEDLY IT FOR RESIDENTS ONLY....HA SECURITY HERE IS A JOKE, IF YOU HAVEA CAR THAT YOU LIKE DONT PARK OUT HERE PEOPLE WHO VISIT THE HOTELS AROUND THEE HAVE A HABIT OF JUMPING THE GATE TO USE THE TENNIS CIURS OR POOL , MULTIPLE ROBBERIS AND VANAALISM OF PEOPLES CARS ARE JUST A FEW ..THEY SAY THEY HAVE "COURTESY OFFICERS" BUT THESE GUYS ARE THERE IN SPIRIT ALONE , U MAY SEE THE OCCASIONAL PATROL , MIND U IVE BEEN THER FOR 8 MONTHS AND HAVE SEEN THE PATROL 3 TIMES....LMAO WHAT A JOKE. MANAGEMENT IS RACIALLY INSENSTIVE TO A DIVERSE COMMUNITY, DOWN HERE THE SOUTH LIVES AGAIN SEEMS TO BE A STANDING RULE..COMING FROM NY , I AM USED TO SOME RACIAL TENSION, BUT AS A PROFESSIONAL ; CONDUCT OF MANAGEMENT HAS BEEN FAR LESS THAN ADMIRABLE AS TO THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE RACILA DEMOGRAPHICS OF A SAID " COMMUNITY" IN 2007. THEY SEEM TO HERD ALL THE MINORITIES TO ONE SECTION AND LEAVE THE OUTSKIRTS BY THE WATER FOR OTHERS.

I really miss my old apartment at Post Rocky Point. I think that the price we paid (1190.00 for 2/2) was great!!. I live in an apartment now in PA. with a 100% rating that is not nearly as nice. I am an RN, and can afford almost any apt. in Tampa. Post was the best we saw, and if I move back, I will go back to Post! The Grounds were beutiful, and landscaped professionally, the office staff, make no mistake about this, was excellent during my move (Back to PA)....above and beyond the call of duty. The pools are always well maintaned, and have a veriety of 'personalities' to make any day fun. This place is just shy of a resort, and full of activities and luxury! -dave

They lie about everything and security is a joke!

I was burglarized 2 months after I moved in along with 8 other apts in the complex at the same time by someone with a key. They replaced my deadbolt with an identical lock that could be opened with the old key...STUPID!! It was like that for month before I realized it. I never even got anything back or an apology from Post. They pretend to have a great security system but lied about gate access when we moved in along with painting our apartment. First they said we could paint our apartment as long as we painted it back when we leave. When we left, they required us to pay them to paint it back...they wouldn't let us do it, eventhough I'm a professional painter. The apartments are nice but not for what you get...the kitchen counters are cheap and prone to stains, the carpets are crap too, and the "tile" is vinyl floor covering. They don't even include W/D like a lot of cheaper apartment buildings. Not to mention, they wanted to raise our rent to $1500 for a 2 bedroom without any changes. Save your money and a lot of heartache by going somewhere else. This has been the worst experience since I moved to Florida 6 years ago!!!

I can't believe all these people that complain, they must all be from Florida. People think this place is expensive, well if you think 1080 is expensive for a 2 bedroom 1 bath or 1200 is expensive for a 2 bedroom 2 bath then don't come here.

I first lived in an apartment in the trendy Hyde Park area, it was horrible. Landlord wouldn't fix anything, I would wait days for his responses and drunk people would walk through the yard all the time.

I moved to Post and loved it. My dishwasher didn't work well, got a new one in 1 day. AC not working right, fixed in a day. Saw a bug, sprayed that week.

It does stink that they make you pay 30 for the terrible gym but besides that it is great.

My first apartment I had a deposit and I lived there for 2 years. I left and got 90% of it back, (they did charge me for a few things, I could have argued but didn't care).

I moved into a 1 bedroom and then after a few months decided to move back to a 2 bedroom. They did get me for a transfer fee and they love the 200 application fee but all in all it is worth it to me. I love it here, great place to be twenty something

Nice to Look At, Nice Amenities, OUTRAGEOUS PRICES!

I am just about to renew my lease for the third time at Post. I do like the complex very much, but it may be due to where in the complex I reside. I have no noisy neighbors (never have), excellent experience with maintenance, and tons of space. I never have a problem with parking, and I feel safe in the community despite the couple of safety warnings we have received over the past couple of years. The landscaping is gorgeous and where else will you find waterfront living like this? HOWEVER, my praises end there.

When I moved into the complex in 2005, my rent was $1050 for a 2/2. My newest renewal options has rent at $1340!!! That is a 27% increase in rent in two years!

I have noted that Post has cited their reasoning being "increased operations cost, increased insurance", etc, etc. As a recruiter in the insurance industry, I can guarantee you two things:

First- I can tell you that they have not increased the pay of their operations staff by 27%. NOBODY in Florida increases pay to that extent. Since we pay all utilities, it must be the landscaping company that increased it's prices 27%!! If that's the case, we have some really crappy business people running Post.

Second- I can tell you that their insurance premiums for the property did not increase enough to warrant a 27% increase in rent.

What HAS happened is that the rental market shrank in the dawn of the condo surge, and they became a REALLY big fish in a shrinking pond. Additionally, the proposed development at the end of Rocky Point (where the old Green Iguana once sat) is going to be home to wealthy people (or at least those that want the world to think they are wealthy). Jacking the rent up at Post Rocky Point is also a "cleansing" process- weeding out the undesirables for the new "upscale" environment.

I hate to be a complainer, but unless enough people find a forum to voice their concerns, they will continue to increase rents until the white and blue collar working class are no longer your tenants... only units with five roommates each... and spoiled little shits whose parents pay all their bills. Is that the community you want???
