Watch for Posts from Management
I noted the last two reviews. Why doe Post ( a huge corporation) allow a beautiful property like Rocky Point to be so mis- managed. Instead of posting fake resident reviews- they should address why they allow all the drunks and 20 year olds to live there. Party all night, dog do everywhere, speeding cars. Darn- the property is beautiful...Post Corp. needs to get on top of the situation there..and have a nice property- right now it is just above a slum..although the land and view are lovely.
THE WORST PLACE IN TAMPA
I have lived here for about six months and hate it. Many of my close neighbors have had their places broken into, and the evidence definately points at the management and maintenance staff. There is never any forced entry, and large items are never stolen. Several others have come home to unlocked doors and open windows, but without anything missing. The staff learns your schedule and snoops around your place, when you are not there. If you have anything worth stealing, they will steal it! When you ask them about it, they all tell you different things. I do not trust the staff at all, they truly are creepy and sketcy.

STAY AWAY!
When management takes you on a tour of the premises in one of their golf carts, they will show you the beautiful trees, the water, the barbecue grills and the pools. Here is what you won't see on the tour! For an exorbitant monthly rent you get college kids partying all night, neighbors blasting music, apartment break-ins and an apartment infested with cockroaches. But wait: order now and in addition to an already staggering monthy rent, you have to pay an additional $30.00 a month to use the gym. But wait there's more: You also get parking tickets because there aren't enough spaces to park. STAY AWAY!

Real Deal - Good and Bad
Ok… Here is the real deal…

I relocated to Tampa in June of 2004 via a corporate relocation. I was given several options for corporate housing, but ended up with Post Rocky Pointe due to availability.

I have read most of the reviews, and strange as it seems, I agree with most of them. This is basically the deal with Post Rocky Point:

Likes:

* Very nice walking trails along the waters edge near the back of the complex. We would often get up early to see the dolphins, sea otters, and manatees swim. They would normally come out for breakfast at 7:00 and also around lunch at 11:00. They appear to take good care of the grounds as well as the palm trees.
* Nice floor plan. We had a 3 bedroom apartment that had a large office off of the master bedroom.
* They did seem to always be improving something on the property; whether it is the parking lot, landscaping, etc.
* They had nice grills with gazebos and swings located around the property. We would use the free gas grills to cook out before swimming in one of the 3 pools
* Again, we lived right on the water, as we could see boats and stuff going by right outside of our window.
* The one time that we did contact the office for a problem with the dishwasher, they came and fixed it rather quickly.

Dislikes:

* VERY bad bug, heck let’s keep it real, ROACH problem. They had several varieties of roaches from the small ones, to the 1” variety, to the mega 3” monsters. We would find them everywhere, as there were many cracks and crevices for them to enter through. We never did get a handle on them, as new ones always appeared to show up.
* The apartment was poorly build, which led to the roach problem. There were many cracks and opening in the apartment which allowed the critters to overrun the property.
* They did not enforce the pet policy at all. We saw several breeds that were forbidden.
* There were several break-ins while we were there, most likely by the staff.
* They had no interest in catering to families, as there was not one child pool or playground for miles.
* Good luck trying to run to the store to get bread or skim milk without having to drive 15 minutes – unless you go to a pharmacy or something, and pay for it.

So, to make a long story short, do not move there if you have kids or do not like young folks (20-28), as they are who make of the majority of tenants. Make certain to bring your RAID!

Peace.

A Couple of Issues
I'm not sure why there seems to be a recurring complaint about the office staff. I dealt with the staff on several occasions and never had a problem. My biggest complaints would be: (1)there is a monthly membership fee to use the fitness center -- this is in addition to the already exorbitant amount of rent charged; (2)bugs are a big problem. Each night I walked in and turned on lights, it became habit for me to survey the room to look for a visitor on the wall. Yuck!; (3) they sneek in an additional $4 common area fee. I called about pigeon crap outside my door and it stayed there for over a month. Gimme my $4 back man! Post in general loves to nickle and dime you, so be aware of that. Other than that, the place was decent.

HORROR SHOW
Where do I begin? Don't be fooled! Poor construction! I could have built this place better and I know nothing about construction. Lot's of cracks underneath the sinks in the bathroom and kitchen and large gaping holes behind refrigerator, stove and dishwasher allowing cockroaches to roam freely. They charge a $30 a month membership to use the gym, just got a letter today saying that there has been a lot of apartment break-ins lately and that they are sorry (how nice of them). Lots of noise. Neighbors blasting music, neighbors having sex, neighbors fixing cars. They say the don't allow motorcycles on the property, however, I have seen a 1/2 a dozen of them. Getting the hell out of here real soon!

Havent lived here, but met office staff and already turned off
I visited the place and was quite optomistic, but once I stepped inside... I was rudely greeted by someone.. Susan I think??? Who basically told me to go to the website to find out information. From that I can tell they have to be horrible to deal with.

Apt. Break-Ins and Entering
Interesting that someone else mentioned they came home to doors open and windows open they knew they had closed.

I had the same problem when I was there, and nobody else shared my apartment. In addition, I knew quite a few people who had their apt. units broken into, with material possessions missing, yet there was no forced entry.

Either there is a poltergeist on the loose or someone is really pulling a fast one.

Lived her 3 years and LOVE my home.
I have lived here for 3 years and love Post Rocky Point. I read some of the nasty comments and feel these people must be upset with the office and are simply out for revenge. I really can´t understand the nasty comments! The landscape is wonderful and the office staff has always been more than friendly and catered to my needs. They keep this place up and are making improvements all the time.

Looks nice, but it isn´t!
When I first moved into these apartments I thought they were great! The landscaping is truly beautiful. After a while I realized what a craphole it really is. There is never parking, there are drunks yelling all night, bugs everywhere, and I pay $1,300 per month for rent and I can´t even get out of the complex becuase the gates are ALWAYS broken. The sales office is full of RUDE people, I´ve yet to have a pleasant experience. The carpet isn´t even attached to the floor, it was just layed down. My roommates and I transferred from Post in a different state, and they were so much better. This place has a lot of young tennants, so expect yelling, booming stereo´s, and speeding. Also, the maintenance (or someone with a key) has been coming into the apartment for no reason- I´ve come home to doors open that I know I closed, and lights on I know I turned off- no written notice of a necessity to enter my home.

Not a quiet place!!!
I lived in Rocky Pointe for two years. That´s what I think:

Positive: 1)Landscaping is breathtaking. They have a jogging trail along the bayou, palm trees and flowers. The bayou is connected to the bay and I occasionally saw dolphins and manatees. I also saw some really cool birds. 2) Apartment itself is big and spacious.

Negative: The noise, oh the noise. It drove me crazy. First of all, you have people partying at all hours, like 3am on Wednesday night. Secondly, you can hear the water pipes at someone´s apartment because the dude has to get up at 4am. Here went my night sleep. Finally, I could here people above you walking all the time.

My impression of this apartment was that it´s was populated by the young inconsiderate students and managed by staff as inconsiderate. It´s a wonderful place if rudness and noise do not bother you.

Great Apartments
I have lived here for a few months and am very happy being at Rocky Point. The landscaping is breathtaking and the community is very clean. The SPA is amazing and seems capacity controlled, so you never have to wait for a machine. The office staff is friendly and they take care of requests very quickly.

Drunks Everywhere
I´ve never seen so many drunks- Watch your car. Speeding cars all hours of the night-even during the week. Love hearing drunk guys and gals fighting in the parking lot- when then you will love it here.

Post is a big corporation - yet they refuse to put a security gaurd here- because they don´t want lawsuits- they say they have officers here- but they are actually policemen on duty- and it takes over one hour to get here. Car break-ins a problem.

Post Rocky Point SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My wife and I have had the worst experience ever at Rocky Point. First, the office staff is a bunch of uneducated, rude, rude, rude, rude, people. The office staff has no class, infact they put the word --- in class. If you are looking for a over priced apartment, inconvenient& rude staff...this is the place to move!!!! Also, they did not change our air filter for about 9 months. That was uncalled for. We also have bugs, bugs, & more bugs. All we can say is DO NOT MOVE HERE! If you ask them to come & spray for bugs(roaches, silver fish, ants etc..) they will get to it in about 2 weeks or more. The place is supposed to be gated, but more than half the time the gate is broken, and can take days to fix. We can not stress enought not to move here. You will have nothing but probelms on top of problems. Plus were ever you look on weekends you will see empty beer bottles everywhere, this place needs to host an AA meetings for the residents. Also we have seen 2 people back up into someones car, and just leave, and the office will do nothing. If oyu ever have to deal with anyone in the front office, you better hope not to get Chris Fisher(property manager) he has the worst attitude for hell. These apts. may look nice form the outside, but after you are locked into a lease...BEWARE. RUN, RUN, RUN. WE will never ever reside with post properties.

Apartment Break-Ins
Very interesting to hear about the on-going apt. break-ins. The same identical thing was happening when I left there in 2002. Same thing whereas no forced entry and nothing big taken. Definitely sounds like an inside job. Somebody really should get to the bottom of that.

And, yes, the staff there was rude, creepy, and totally untrustworthy at the time I lived there. Very spooky!!

Don´t get sucked in!
When I first moved to Post Rocky Point in 2002, I thought it was a beautiful apartment complex where there office staff seemed friendly and happy to help. Boy was I wrong.
Although the apartments appear nice when touring, BE AWARE! My roomates and I have a constant fight with our unwelcome visitors i.e the roaches. Even though exterminators have visited our apartment monthly, they still will not leave! In addition to this, we have mold on our carpet and the office won´t do anything about it which is dangerous to our health.
This apartment complex will try to squeeze every peeny out of you. In addition to our ridiculous rent, we are charged $30 extra per month to use the gym. Isn´t that supposed to be included in the rent?! Also, if you are even a second late paying rent, they will charge you a 10% late fee. Last month they claimed that I did not pay and charged me $150 late fee! It´s not my problem that they lost my rent check!
Finally, I can not tell you on how many occasions the office staff has been rude and unfriendly with my roomates and I. I feel that since we have moved in, we have become just another number and they don´t care about their current residents because they are already getting their business.
Even though this apartment complex may appear to have a nice location, look again. There are no gas stations or grocery stores nearby. Instead we are surrounded by strip clubs. In addition to this, crime has been unbelievable lately in the complex. Car break ins and robberies have almost become common. Several nights I have woken up to helicopter´s and spot lights because there are robbers/thefts on our property!
I can not emphasize this enough.
DO NOT MOVE TO ROCKY POINTE!

We have lived @ Post for about 9 months, and we can not wait until we move. We have had nothing but problems including: flood, mold, roaches, bugs, foundation cracking, and water stains on ceiling. Wecould go on... All we can say is we cant wait to get the HEll out. Plus the office staff is RUDE & DISRESPECTFUL! We would never ever recommend this place to anyone, not even a worst enemy!!!

------!!!
I lived in Rocky Point for 2 months (corporate housing) and I have never wanted to move from a free apartment more. When we first arrived, the entire carpet was wet b/c the a/c and the fire sprinkler was leaking. So for the next 10 days we had to keep the air switch to "on" instead of "auto" and had this huge blower under this carpet. The maintenance guy cut a hole in the ceiling to fix the leaky sprinkler head and never repaired the drywall so now there´s just a hole in the ceiling. Once the drippy a/c issue was resolved we had to deal with the dishwasher not cleaning the dishes, the garbage disposal spitting up, the phone not working, the refridgerator leaking, and roaches....... yes roaches. We thought there were just dead ones laying around but it would be nothing to turn on the bathroom light and see one or two scattering. We call the office for them to send pest control and they did come. However, the guy showed up with one 12 oz. can to do the whole apartment, so of course this did not solve the problem. this is not Rocky Point´s fault but our neighbor´s above us are very noisy. All day and all night we heard them running and jumping back and forth throughout there apartment, literally shaking our ceiling fans. Luckily I did not have to pay but for 1100.00/mo. I would expect a HELL of a lot more!!!!!

Office staff really is horrible!!!
I am also happy to say that I am leaving this apartment complex. The main reason is that I have had such awful experiences with the office staff. They are very rude and take their time when you need something fixed or have any other issue. I should have known in the beginning when even the leasing agent forgot about our appointment so I could tour the complex and did not even seem like she was sorry. I am suprised if those people graduated from high school.

Great View...horrible staff
The area couldn´t be better.....away from the city and convienent to the airport (great if you travel a lot!) But the staff makes me happy to be leaving in about a month. A ceiling leak was left to leak for almost 10 months - it was not considered an emergency - even though it rains every day in Florida - therefor we had to have a water pail handy every day in our apt. Walkway around the water is wonderful - and the fitness center is like no other. As long as you don´t have any major problems, it´s a great place to live! just be aware of leaky ceilings - they aren´t considered a priority around this complex!

Nice in 2000?
Interesting preceding comments. I lived in Phase II in 1999-2000. At that time, construction was new, so I never had to call maintenance and comment on quality.

Groceries and gas are a serious problem anywhere in Rocky Point . . . it takes planning and the nearest is 10 - 15 minutes away in light traffic.

I found the construction to be quite solid. Never had any issues with sound through the walls. The landscaping is excellent. It´s well and regularly maintained.

They went after my deposit (plus extra) with a vengeance when moveout time came. My roomate and I may not have done the best job cleaning the carpet, but the damage estimate (for dirt in a high traffic area) was way over. This has been my experience with Post in the past. You have to haggle with them on deposit/cleanup fees.
