I've been living at Monroe Place for a year and a half, and I've really loved living here. The management staff is always available and accessible when needed, and I've felt welcome to voice concerns and questions. They are extremely communicative, always giving ample notice regarding repairs or basic apartment maintenance, and they let us know when there are security concerns, and their active role in intervening and taking action. My neighbors are friendly and the maintenance staff is absolutely wonderful, responding quickly when needed. I've lived in many apartment complexes, and Monroe Place and the staff are really fantastic.

It seems they have hired a company or friends to help bring the rating back up. Talk to real residents and they will share a different story. You can do much better for the price. You have a crack / prostitue hotel across the street. Not a safe place!

Love the apartment units...
Love the apartment units and residents and neighborhood. Hate the office staff. They can be rude and are rarely helpful including the property manager. But - cheap rent = cheap staff! The rates and location are worth the headache.

I lived at Monroe Place for a year from 2011 and 2012 with my best friend. After looking in many different areas around Atlanta, we both agreed that Monroe felt most like home. Lee, the property manager, was great right off the bat. The washer and dryer, which you generally have to pay monthly to have brought in, were left in our unit so Lee let us keep them for free. The unit was so clean, spacious and pretty. Anytime we had maintenance requests, they were done either the same day or bright and early the next day. The guys working on the maintenance staff were so nice and I always felt comfortable with them in my apartment. We were graced with ridiculously noisy downstairs neighbors, who would blast music constantly. Our floors would shake because the bass was so loud. We called the courtesy officer, the APD, as well as the front office and the issue was always handled right away. Parking was only tricky if you came in really late, but even then I always found a spot under the covered parking. During the day, I could always find a spot smack dap in front of my unit, and so could my roomie. My car was backed into once in the middle of the night, which really sucked, but that was the only bad thing that ever happened. The complex was also infiltrated once, with people jumping the gate, and cars were broken into. Mine was not however, because I'm not stupid enough to leave valuables in my car. All the people who were victimized were that stupid, though. The other residents were college students and families, and I never felt unsafe. As far as bugs, in warm weather we did have little beetle type things that liked our plants, but we always had our windows open, so thats probably how they came in. They were harmless and we would just shoo them outside. I never in the whole year of living there, ever once saw a roach. I know they were on the property, because I saw them in the parking lot, but we were super clean people. Honestly, I wish I never left Monroe, but my best friend got married and I was left without a roommate, so I had to make due. I would definitely tell people to rent here!

I moved from Monroe Place because of the bug problem and excessively high utility bills. The roaches on the property are HUGE and they are everywhere during the warmer months. The dealbreaker for me was the number of bugs in my actual unit. I was bothered with stinkbugs initially (Sept, October time of the year) and drainflies. My apartment was sprayed several times which helped with the stinkbugs but the drainflies persisted. The only thing that made them disappear was cold weather. As soon as it got warm, TA-DAH!....they were back. Small roaches were also houseguests. The problem was initially blamed on a "less than clean" neighbor who moved out shortly after I moved in. Months later, the problem was still there. I suspect the apartment had crappy insulation which likely explains some of both issues. Unless you like to live in Wild Kingdom or the Amazon, spend your money elsewhere!

My main issue with this community is the bug problem. And there IS a bug problem. I was told by the property manager (in the summer) that these HUGE roaches were around because there was a "problem in Atlanta" because it was so hot, and that I just have to deal with it. But now that it's cooler outside, WHY are they still around? Better yet, why are they in my house??? Whatever the pest control guy is using (oh, he only comes on Mondays, by the way) is NOT working. I wrote a review on this before, but surprisingly, it has since disappeared.

After living here for 5 years, I can honestly say--this place has gone down hill fast. Supposedly, there is a courtesy officer you may call if there is a problem (after leaving a message)--but, there isn't one. If there is a noise disturbance (which about once a month--coming from #6310 there is. This apartment is filled with rowdy thugs)--no one ever shows up or calls you back. Most of the issues I have with this complex is late-nights and weekends (when there is no staff on duty)--which include non-residents who lurk at the drive waiting for a resident to come and attempt to "tail-gate" into the gate behind you. When you try to stop them--you may get threatened or followed past the gate anyway and threatened again (mostly thugs). As mentioned before, if you call the so-called courtesy officer--no one responds or shows (because there isn't one). My complaint is mostly from management regarding the class of people who they allow to move in here over the past 2 years. This is the type of clientel you would expect to live in a project development or wrong part of town. The door dings and scratches and noise have all increased because of this. Another major issue with this complex--is the one or two people who have more than one dog and need so much attention, they have to go outside with these yapping little dogs every hour--then the entire area around the dogs smell of nasty dog ------absolutely nasty. I'm moving at the end of my lease! Enough of living around common trash!!

I don't mean to make offense, but something is wrong with the previous reviews. I am not one of those people that are super negative and aim to provide an untruthful negative review. I am going to try and be objective. Parking It has been said that there is abundant. 100% not the case. When I returned home at night, there was never a spot close to my place. Sometimes, even the covered parking was full and the only option was the uncovered parking in the rear. There are spots for everyone, this is true, and unlimited guests allowed to park, but do not expect to park near your place at all times. Noise More or less you can't hear your neighbors, due to the carpet floors. However, due to the poor construction of the units, you will on occasion hear your roommate's footsteps, the whole appartment shakes. Especially if they are loud when walking. Some of the units are close to the garbage collector (this nighmarish machine will be addressed later) and it makes a distinct noise when operating, which will be a huge problem. Grounds Okay, this is where the complex utterly fails. They do have passable lanscaping, not anything more than your average complex at this price though. However, I am sorry to say that all the corridors that get you to places are usually dirty. A major issue: the garbage collector. Trash service is awful. The area close to it stinks. Expect to have to endure the stench when you take your trash there. Also, it is very bad visually, usually at night there will be trash and/or disposed items there. As a result, the place is full of roaches. You will see them walking everywhere if you visit the complex at night. They do have pest control available, but expect to get some visits in your house. Definately in the common areas of the complex you will see many of them, especially close to the pool area at night. By the way, if they addressed the garbage issue, they would mitigate the problem, but they are not doing it. Safety Although not in the best area, safety-wise (really cheap pay-by-the-week motel close and some strip clubs in the general area), I do not have any complaints in this issue. Construction I mentioned this earlier, average to bad building quality. Not well maintained. The carpets used are good to filter noise, but not of the highest quality. The appliances are what you expect for this price. However, examine the wall paint when you visit your future home: it's really low quality. I know because i tried to clean it and it peeled off. Maintenance Actually, they rate very well in this category. They fixed all the problems we had quite fast. Staff No complaints from them, to be honest. Did not interract much, but they posed no problem and helped when needed. Also, I didn't lose any items delivered to the leasing office or anything, although their access system is terrible. So overall, quite good. Overall I will just list some other pros/cons Pros -Gated access works fine and you can buzz people in -Pool was fine/ and there is wifi available -Very accessible with car Cons -They don't offer washer/dryer in the unit. This is ok, many communities do that. Bust 90% of them will have an on site washer/dryer room/facility. These guys don't. Huge problem, from my experience. - Not all people are as kind as it has been mentioned, and certainly not all pet owners are that responsible - You will NEED that car. Every day. Nothing is in walkable distance.

I just moved into Monroe Place in the middle of June, so I've spent about a month in the complex. The front office staff are wonderful and extremely helpful! The apartment looked great when we moved in and everything was ready on time. The parking is very convenient, and there is plenty for everyone plus guests There's an option by my apartment to park either under cover or on top of the deck if you don't want to take the stairs. The location is amazing with access to 85/75, 400, and Piedmont Road, and both Kroger and Publix are less than a mile away. I was worried I would be battling traffic in the morning and afternoons being so close to the highway, but I honestly haven't had a single problem with it so far. The complex is VERY pet friendly with a great dog park tucked across the parking area from the apartments (no noise), and all the residents are great about picking up after their pets. I have yet to meet someone who is unfriendly. The pool area is kept clean with two big grills, and drapes are hung up if you want a little privacy for dinner. Overall, wonderful and affordable apartments that I would recommend to all my friends and family.

I have been living in Monroe Place for about a month now and love it. I had a friend that lived here years ago and I always enjoyed my visits to the complex. When I moved here from out of state this year I knew I wanted to check out and see if Monroe Place had any availability. I met with Adam and he has been beyond great, especially helping me with all of my questions (I had many of them). The entire process was smooth and easy. When I first moved in I had a little leak with my kitchen sink and the issue was addressed immediately. The people in the complex seem really nice too. I would definitely recommend Monroe Place to anyone looking for a new place to live.

Welcome To Atlanta
I want to be fair and write an honest review. Its hard to be too critical on MP considering the original place we lived in was two blocks from a shelter, in what was advertised as Midtown living. However, now that the awfulness is behind us we are moving forward. It's amazing what 4 miles can do for your quality of life! My husband and I moved to ATL in January 2012 and have moved twice, to which we find ourselves at MP. We heard about MP through a reference. From the very first phone conversation, Adam was a gift from heaven! He was so accommodating and worked very hard to have our apmt ready for move in 3 weeks later. He responds quickly to emails, phone calls, needs, etc. To be fair, we have only dealt with Adam, so I can't speak regarding the other leasing team members. The community by comparison is good. Neighbors are friendly, crime is low, and location is great! We love being close to everything. Maintenance and grounds team work very hard to keep it clean; from the weekend neighborhood gatherings to the dog park that services the community of dog owners/dogs. Every morning I always see several grounds man cleaning up after us. I m so grateful they are there. However, recently some spring cleaning was to be performed and mass communication was sent out giving strict instructions for the tenants; however, on the very first day of the project, nothing was done the way we were told and no update was given. I had no idea if I could resume parking in our spot or get towed, or if we could furnish our patio again. We still don't know when and what is going on with the pressure washing and painting project. However, I did email Adam and he quickly told me it was ok to park my car and furnish my patio. I just felt bad for the other tenants who had no idea what was going on at MP. With that being said, I know the team is busy working hard and multi-tasking between projects, mistakes are going to happen. I hope in the future we can get better at planning, executing, and completing tasks that involve the entire community. Another negative is our cooling system. Our thermostat never reads over 70 but it gets extremely hot in our 1bd apartment. The thermostat looks old like it has been here for the last 12 years. The air unit is small, maybe too small. I just want what I pay for with good working equipment, nothing more or less. Lastly, Argen Billing and Conservation for water is weird to me. In other places, you just pay the water company itself; there is no middle man. If Perennial Properties doesn t want to include water/sewer in their lease, then I wish I could pay the water company directly and not be charged extra for the luxury of paying for my own water. I don t need a third party to help me conserve water by charging these rates. The apartment is so cozy and for the most part quiet. Ultimately it is apmt living so it will never be silent. By design you will always know when upstairs is doing laundry or a work out video, but you take the good with the bad. We have new floors, new carpet, new tile, and fresh paint on the walls. It s perfect for the four of us, two adults and two dogs. Overall, we like coming home to Monroe Place!

Monroe Living !!
I 've been living at MP for over 2 years with a roomate who recently moved due to work reasons , so I moved into a bedroom top floor .. It is a great community , neighbors are friendly some are stand offish but thats fine.My balcony faces the new doggy park that has a constant flow of neighbors walking their dogs but you never hear the animals just the tennants talking which is never to loud. The office staff is incredible hats off to Adam Turem who doesn't mine jumpingh through hoops to make his tennants stay a comfortable one. Debra has been great to work with as well. It is a good place to live for its location, beauty and professional staff and the fact that its gated makes even more desireable . Come take a look . I promise you won't be disappointed .

I made the right decision
My wife and I recently relocated from MA for work reasons. During the process the staff at Monroe Pl was amazing. I am a reservist and was deployed when my had to begin the process of looking for a new place. They made what could have been a horrible experience into an easy and pleasant one. Based on the experience my wife had with the staff, we already had high expectations, and when we arrived and saw the place, our expectations were exceeded! The property is very well kept, clean, buildings look as if they were recently built. The pool looks great, the dog park is great, I basically think everything is great. If all that was not enough, once I realized the convenience of the location, I could not believe how lucky we were to score this place. The highway, downtown Atlanta, shopping malls, restaurants, shopping plazas, EVERYTHING seems to be right around the corner. And of course, our apartment was all we expected and more. Not to mention how welcoming all of the neighbors have been. To me, the biggest thing that made me realize that we made the right decision has been the endorsement of all the current residents I've met. They love it, and assure me that I will love it too. Honestly, I already do.
