We moved down here from Indiana and we were pressed for time to find a place! Christy was great helping us find a place and got us through the process quickly. It is a little far from my work but it is worth it! We are excited to be able to use the pool

This is a great place to live. We feel safe and secure in our complex and our apartment. Great amenities, friendly and effective management and maintenance staff, and courteous residents. The staff will go out of their way to make sure this is a great place to live. We love living at Avonlea Highlands.

Been very positive. A really nice community. It located by major highways. Gated community which provides good security, well lighted and safe. Trash disposal in a good area and a wonderful clubhouse and pool with an exercise room available.

Let me preface by saying you should think about the reviews before signing. My husband and I lived in this complex for 2 years and moved mainly because rent became much too high for us and were stuck with a decent bill. I read many reviews before we decided to move in and many of those stated the management will suck every penny they can...I thought for a bit and decided to take it with a grain of salt beacuse you never know the specific situation, I was wrong. The complex itself is nice and fairly clean and well maintained however because of this the staff would make a big deal about strange things, i.e. signs to keep your dogs off the grass. Where is my dog going to use the restroom? Several little things like this over the time we were there and it was annoying but not unbearable. To any pet lovers, be extremely careful. They will rush you through the lease signing but pay attention because we made the mistake...any pet deposit you pay for your pet(s) does not go toward any damages when you move. Let me repeat, pet deposits DO NOT go toward any damages when you move. We paid a total of $600 for 2 pets and not a penny went toward the move out. The manager stated it is simply for the "privilege" of having a pet. We love our animals but that stinks because we still had to cover the cost of having the carpet replaced (I believe this is required of them by law anyway). We took care of our apartment while we lived there but of course there is always wear and tear, just be very careful. All in all not a bad place to live just make sure you have plenty of money.

I loved this place and will miss it. I was transferred to Cartersville for a new job position at the plant. Angie & Cathy made me feel right at home, and immediately invited me to some of their functions. I was going through a divorce during this time and they just took me under their wings and gave me words of encouragement. The neighbors were so friendly and I meet some great people at the pool. I recently had to move back to AL but I sure do miss this place and all the new friends I have meet. To all my friends back home GO DAWGS!

Don't waste your time moving here. This place is run by a hot head, control freak. Every other week there was a new note on our door with more restrictions. Kids were not welcome to play anywhere on the property except for the very small, toddler play ground. Pool furniture had holes and was falling apart. When I pay over $1000/mo for an apartment in CARTERSVILLE I expect to have a fully functional property. One of the treadmills was broken for the whole year that I lived here. Walls are thin, the office staff plays favorites. One of the gentleman in the office flat out told me that I was lying when I complained about my neighbors excessive noise. YES the apartment was beautiful and Bert was amazing about always making sure that everything was fixed in a timely manner. However, the grills were NEVER cleaned out, there was dog poop all over the complex. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! I think that they forgot that WE PAY THEM. WE ARE THE CONSUMER NOT THEIR HOSTAGES! No one is treated equal or with respect. I know residents who have lived here well over 5 years and yet are put on the back burner so that the money hungry management can bring in new renters. STAY AWAY FROM AVONLEA IN CARTERSVILLE. YOUR MONEY WOULD BE WELL SPENT SOME WHERE ELSE!!

Terrible!!! The office staff is extremely disorganized. They will all tell you something different, so you will never get a straight answer. They are also very rude. I did not feel welcome, and dreaded going to the office. I avoided them as much as possible because they made me feel so terrible. I've had multiple maintaince problems, and no one ever came to fix the problem until I checked up time and time again. I would not recommend these apartment buildings to anyone.

Nice apartments with a shady management company. My apartment was small, but comfortable. The grounds and common areas are well kept. Other than that, it was an awful experience. The walls are paper thin. I heard my neighbors bedroom activities for months and then I heard their baby screaming by the time I moved out. Don't even get me started on the nightmare of a parking situation. The carpet was in bad condition when I moved in. They offered to replace it knowing my furniture was coming the next day and there would be no time. So, I had to live with stained worn out carpet. When I moved out I left the apartment extremely clean and even steam cleaned the carpet. The leasing agent did a move out inspection with me and told me everything was fine. Then, after a month of trying to get their deposit back from the home office, they kept half of the deposit for nonsense items they said they found after the fact. It's really sad that this company is so money hungry. I can tolerate a lot, but not being robbed of my money and lied to! Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

I don't normally write reviews, but I felt like I should since I received nothing but good service. I am blown away by the way I am treated every time I walk into the leasing office at Avonlea Highlands. I was going to purchase a home at the end of my lease, but I decided to stay. They offer residents activities which are fun. I just wish it was closer to my job. If you want something nice and a place to meet new people, this just might be your place.

I spent seven years at Avonlea Highlands. I must say that it was a great experience. The staff is great, as is the maintenance staff. If something needs repairing, which is rare, it is done in just a day or two. How they can do this on a consistent basis, I don't know. Everyone in the office was very friendly; management, staff, and maintenance are the definite strong points. They ask for comments about improving the apartment or community and will actually follow up with a phone call. I don't know many places where this will likely happen. Rent was very stable over the seven years. I would definitely recommend Avonlea Highlands.

I would highly recommend Avonlea Highlands to anyone. I have lived in Cartersville all my life, and this place has a good reputation within the community. I now know why and it s their staff. I was at the business center fixing my resume when the manager came through and asked me, How are you doing? I told her I was going to be laid off my job, and I was working on my resume. She then offered to help me with writing a new resume, and told me of some job opportunities she knew about. I would like to report within the week of us sending out resumes together I had an interview, and now have a new job. She is not the only one that goes above and beyond the maintenance guy is very helpful too. I always see him bopping around and working hard, but one day I was bringing groceries from the car and he stops what he is doing to help me with my groceries. All I can say is I am completely amazed of their level of customer service, and they were willing to stop to help.

This is NOT a good place to live. It is too expensive -- they jump at every opportunity to raise the rent. I was paying almost $1,000 when I left, but they were going up on the rent again. There is inadequate parking. It is NOT secure. My car was broken into twice. The window was broken and some things were stolen. The 'security gate' is broke a lot of the time. Folks can just drive or walk in as desired. When I moved in, I was told that the tenants were professional people, with some families. A lot of the tenants were certainly not 'professional' or 'family' types. I called 911 several times to address the noise and fighting. The smell of cigarette smoke permeated my apartment from the apartment below. It actually came through the electrical sockets. I could go on and on -- Don't move in this apartment.

This Place Is The Best
I have lived in many apartment complexes because the type of job I have, but I must say this is the best apartment community I have ever lived at. The office is staff has been wonderful, and very accommodating to me. I enjoy going to some of the functions, and the ladies in the office are a hoot. I haven't had a lot of Maintenance issues, but when I have they have been very quick and responsive. You can tell everyone really cares, and they have taken great care of me.

Avoid a headache and DO NOT RENT at Avonlea Highlands
After 2 years of renting at Avonlea Highlands we decided to move. We have never ever paid rent late.We never bothered anyone. When we moved the apartment was cleaner than it was when we moved in. The carpet is another story they cut pieces out of the carpet and patched it before we moved in and we let them know we wasn't happy about it and two years later when we move out they want us to pay to replace the carpet that they patched together before we lived there. They charged us for more rent after we already paid the last month. I am currently filing a small claims against them. Please, Please whatever you do, don't rent from this place it is a nightmare to get out of. The apartment manager is a witch not people friendly at all. The best employee they have is Bert at least he is friendly and will not lie or treat you like crap. I agree with the other postings they are money hungry and will do everything they can to charge you whatever they can and you will NOT get your deposit back!!!

A Great Place to Live
The manager & Maintenances staff is GREAT super fast at getting things fixed, the location manager is the best but the front staff is a little lazy at times. Some of the Nabors are a little messy but you get that everywhere.

AWFUL... AWFUL.... AWFUL.... AWFUL.....
I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. THIS PLACE IS FAR FROM LUXURY!!! My family and I could not wait to move out of that place. They played favorites when it came to pool rules, the maintenance staff jerry rigged everything that needed to be fixed, the on site "car wash" would've been better if they had a water hose and bucket rather than the junk that you had to pay for. They said that they had noise complaints on us, and them did not even apologize when I proved that we were not even in the state!!! Then, once I moved out, I had an agreement that they keep my security deposit in exchange to fix some minor issues, but then they have sent me to collections for more money. The issues that they are claiming are issues that were caused AFTER we moved out by their maintenance crew. NICKEL and DIME is their specialty... AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST.

Outstanding place to live
My wife and I have had a wonderful time living here. We will sure miss it, but we're getting older and need to move closer to our children. The office and maintenance staff are wonderful, and very professional. They do a great job with the grounds, and we have enjoyed all the parties. The staff has treated us like part of the family. We've been very blessed to have found such a great place to call home for over 5 years, and will miss everyone.

Love this Place!!
We have lived her for a couple of years and love it. Maintenance and the office staff have always taken good care of us. They really go above and beyond the call of duty. My cat darted outside, and the maintenance guy who had already left the property for the day came back to help look for my cat. The office manager and maintenance guy found my precious and returned her home safely. They're great people. We love our next door neighbors after my surgery she brought over dinner to us which was very thoughtful. I don't know who writes these reviews, but I haven't meet anyone in my building that doesn't love living here. Only suggestions I have would be to get a new playground area.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!
After living in these so called "luxurious" apartments for a total of one year, my husband & myself bought a house...Needless to say I could go on and on about how horrible we we're treated by not ONLY the staff but the long term residents! Kids run around ramped with NO parents watching them, so watch out when you back your car out of the parking lot! Not to mention the walls are PAPER thin!! THEY ARE THE MOST MONEY HUNGRY PEOPLE I HAVE EVER MET! WE HAVE NEVER BEEN LATE ON RENT/WATER AND STILL THEY FIND ANY AND EVERY REASON TO CHARGE YOU AS YOU ARE TRYING TO LEAVE THAT HORRIBLE PLACE TO ACTUALLY BUY A HOUSE AND BE AROUND NORMAL PEOPLE! IT'S LIKE THERE OWN LITTLE CULT OVER THERE!!! FIRST APARTMENTS I HAVE EVER LIVED IN AND IT WILL DEFF BE THE LAST!! I WOULDN'T RECCOMEND THIS PLACE TO MY WORST ENEMY!!

Wonderful Place
Avonlea Highlands has been a wonderful place to live. My husband and I have had absolutly NO complaints! I'm very picky where I live, and this place met all my needs! If something breaks, they come out and fix it. Everyone is very nice as well. Many families with children. Plenty of parking. Gated community. A pretty quiet place as well, never had any issues with neighbors! I highly recommend Aconlea Highlands!!

DON'T MOVE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I lived here for over 2 years, never paid my rent a day late, they find any reason to fine you, and they will screw you over in second. My lease was not technically up yet and I let them know I would be moving out and they fined me $800....STILL! I was a very good renter, I left my apartment very clean, and they still found every little thing that WASNT even wrong! The staff will appear to be nice and friendly, but they do not care about the residents, they only want your money. The only reason I stayed here 2 years is because of the location. I woulnt recommend these apartments to my worst enemy.

Happy after two years
I have lived here just over two years and I have been very happy. This is probably the best apartment complex in Cartersville (at least to date). The staff and maintenance folks are very helpful and friendly. I find the apartments to be generally well made, though the carpets are seemingly of low quality. Garbage can pile up in the dumpster at peak times. I am fortunate in that I have not experienced any of the negative aspects faced by other tenants as stated elsewhere on here. I have no reservations about this complex.
