who writes these reviews???
My husband and I lived at Avonlea Highlands for a little over one year, we thought the price was high for the area but chose to live there because it looked nice and safe. It was great at first, but at the begining of the year there was a change in management and things quickly went downhill from there. The grounds were no longer clean they were covered in dog poo, the office never returned calls (if you got them to answer in the first place), and there were car break ins because someone can park their car and walk right into their "gated" community. Lights were always out around the property which didn't seem real safe. The walls are very thin we lived on the top level to prevent most of it but we could hear our neighbors beside us showering, flushing toilets, and their kitchen cabinet doors shutting constantly. Parking is a total nightmare I work common hours so when I would get home around 6 I would have to park on the other side of the property, kids were always running loose and playing ball in the parking lot (near our cars), they would never watch for cars so be very careful if you do decide to move-in watch for the kids with no parents around. Think twice before paying such a high cost to live here when you could save some money and live in a much nicer place that cares about thier tenants.

happy here
I was unsure of how I would feel about living in an apt. after living in a house for twenty twenty five years, but I am very happy here. They are quiet and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful.

AWESOME
I have lived in countless apartments, from luxury highrises in NYC to a dump in West Hollywood and everything in between. Basically I have seen it all and thus, expect very little when I move into a place. But let me just say that the management at Avonlea HIghlands exceeded my every expectation. You get a heck of a lot of bang for your buck here, and as cheesy as it sounds, the management really does care about you happiness. The free breakfasts and activities by the cares team, to the friendly hellos you get when driving by all make it seem less like a big, sterile apartment community. My apartment in particular was completely re-done before my move it. I have new carpet, new appliances, and new cabinets. I am really happy with my unit. Lets face it, apartment living blows. But if you gotta live in an apartment, Avonlea Highlands is a great place to do it.

Very positive experience with A.H. Nine foot ceiling, crown moulding and other small features make apartment homes nice to live in. Office staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recomended.

wonderful living
Living at st albans has been wonderful. The grounds are beautiful and the maintenance is excellent! there has been a change in management since I moved in but I think it is better now. there are flowers blooming everywhere and there is no trash on the ground. The old management let the dog crap build up before but the new management has picked it all up and sent out letters to the residents to clean up after their pets.I would recommend them and I have. It is very peaceful here also.

St. Albans is the nicest community in Cartersville, Georgia. I loved living there and I still come by and hang out with my friend who still lives there. The people in the office always remember me and ask me how things are going. Living at St. Albans was better than living in any other apartment community. They have the nicest pool!!!!!!

hum....
I have had several water leaks from rain and toliet clogged. My garbage disposal has stopped working and the response was, "we'll see if we can get someone to fix it." Well I hope so! Rent if fair, Clean grounds and appliances. Unless potential water damage, takes awhile for someone to get back to you. Have to request things several times. Staff does their thing and I do mine. Live on top floor if you don't mind the move. Noisy upstair neighbors, I know when they get up, the phone rings and their conversations. For the most part fine, typical apartment living. Nothing special.

Beware!
The APTs. themself are nice. Inside they look good and spacious, but there are some draw backs! No matter what time of day it is there is always screaming little kids running around the complex unsupervised! Also like others have said, the business center just plane sucks! If you like to take walks this is not the place to live. There is so much dog crap all over you have to skip throught the grass just to keep from getting mess on your shoes. Not to mention that every resident is getting screwed on there water bill! If you live in the city limits of Cartersville you should only have to pay for your water w/ your power bill. NOPE! they use EZ-bill which charges you $5 and $3 for trash pick up that they dont even do anymor because they are lazy! Besides for being a crap infested, noisy, unfare, not caring for your residents Apartment complex, its just OK.

Its ok for a time
I could build a better apartment with mud. The staff is absent minded, but they were just taken over so we will see. The noise is aweful if you live on the second floor, I can hear every one of my neighbors conversations. The layout is really great except for lack of shelf space in the kitchen. I have the 3 bedroom and it is very spacious but be prepared to pay through your nose for it, and if you do get a special be prepared to move out at the end of your lease because they raised my rent when I renewed and were offerent new leasees 200 less than I was paying.

My comments...
I´ve lived here for a while, it´s ok. The complex itself is lovely, minus the noisy kids that run around my patio. The only thing bad about St Albans is the clubhouse and staff. Like the other resident said, there are 2 computers and one has been broken since I moved in. They are old, not that fast, and people come in there constantly wanting to get on. They need to do something. When I have a friend over we sometimes go to the clubhouse and sit down on the furniture in the living room. Not too many seconds later a staff member comes up and asks if we are members. I can´t help but feel like I´m being interrigated when I try to enjoy myself in the clubhouse.

Anyway, these are the nicest apartments in town and it´s not a nightmare living here. Come check it out if you have a nice car, nice appearence, money, and a good background check. Ya, plus more.

-MD

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!
I have lived in St. Alban´s Apartment´s for over 1 year now and can accurately say that it is to your best interest that you do not come to live here. They brag that they have a "business center" that boasts a fax machine, computers (2), and printer that all residents may use. Well, one of the two computers has been broken for five months now and they refuse to fix it. Management has been told on numerous occassions that the computer was broken and they always say that they will fix it soon, but that day has not and probably will never come. How can one computer be sufficent for 200 residents??? There is always a line for the computer, and if by some strange luck that you do get use of the computer with no one on it, in 2 minutes, someone comes walking through the door to see if they can use the computer. The complex brags of a laundry service, while the washers and dryers seldom work and have not worked for me when I have tried to go into the laundry room to use them. Most residents have to rent their own washers and dryers in order to have clean clothes.

I decided to live on the top floor in order to minimize the noise from other neighbors, but apparently the ceilings are paper thin because I can clearly understand what is going on in the apartment beneath me at all hours of the night. I can even feel the vibrations in the floor.

I know you must be thinking, why still live there? But here is my answer, the "lease breaking fee" is whatever rent is owed from the date you move out until the end of your initial lease. This is the case if you had to leave town because your company said that you were to move to Alaska, St. Alban´s wants their $$$$!!!

To sum this extremely long review, I refer to the title of this excerpt:

D-O N-O-T M-O-V-E H-E-R-E!!!!!!

Review of St. Albans
The apt itself was very nice - however, be forewarned - the people who live here are not the high class people St. Alban´s pretends to house. Additionally, the management at this apt complex is TERRIBLE. They are not helpful - and must be asked 10 times to get something done.

I would choose the complex off of exit 290 instead of St. Albans.
