Astor Place by Cortland is a peaceful community with fun residents and a great sense of safety. Cortland offers us residents some great benefits like free fitness classes and transfers. Definitely would live at a Cortland property again.

I moved into this comolex back in December and thus far Ive had an amazing experience. Maintenance orders are dealt with almost immediately, the staff is very friendly and attentive, and very modern and chic. Im very much enjoying my stay.

I would like the breezeways cleaned more often, maybe power washed and my particular area is always littered with cigarette butts. I have experienced damage to my vehicle twice, once all my rims were stolen and another time windows were broken out of my car and several vehicles in the complex. We were supposed to be getting a security officer, but I have not seen that change. Other than that, in years past it has been a nice community.

I had a relative who lived there for 7 years and was treated like dirt. when she moved in under the previous owners and did the walk-through she found an old dirty carpet, broken kitchen cupboards, dirty stained urine tiles in bathroom, water marks on walls in closet in the master bedroom,mildew, holes on walls in bedrooms, broken tiles in foyer, bugs all over the place. for the 7.5 yrs she lived there she was promised new carpet, cupboards etc, new kitchen cupboards and new doors, etc, This never happened instead Cortland wanted her to pay for the new carpet & cupboards, etc. She also had to endure several break-ins in the community,drug dealers & constant fear of being mugged. She finally decided to move out after they increased her rent by over 300 to force her out & remodeled the apt, but would do nothing for her. She is a very clean person & when she was moving she left that place immaculate (I still have the photos I took for her when she was moving). After suffering with all the broken things & old tattered carpet,etc, Chelsea had the nerve to bill this poor woman thousands of dollars for all the broken things she inherited and trying to mess up her credit. Her lawyer has told her to sue them, because she has all the proof and documentation of everything she inherited & the stress this has caused her, but she keeps telling him that Karma is real & God will fight this battle & deal with the injustice meted out to her, smh!!! If this was me I would definitely sue them, they are CRUEL to say the least.

Haven't lived here long enough to provide an in depth review but so far my experience has been pleasant. If this is how my entire stay will be like I'll be a happy resident. The staff have called to check in a few times and inquired if there was anything I needed. Little things like this makes a big difference.

The maintenance, grounds and trash pickup are incredible. The scenery from my apartment and the amenities are excellent as well. We are both especially grateful for the grounds team members who clean up after our neighbors (so we dont have to watch where our dog and ourselves walk every time anymore) and keep the doggie bags stocked.

The move in experience was smooth and great! Appliances are in great condition, we have fast maintenance (within 24 hours), amazing staff at the office who cares about their residents, and a clean neighborhood. Emails are replied within a day most of the time. Most of all, there was not a single bug since I've moved in for the past 2 months! Would highly recommend this apartment to anyone.

The office staff is always nice and super helpful at making sure our needs are met. They put together great community events that are fun for the whole family! The maintenance staff are very courteous and get our requests completed in a timely manner. Arnez always makes sure the job gets done right, even if it means staying late. Astor Place community is nice, its a great community and a wonderful place to call home. When I had first moved in here they didnt have activities for the tenants. Now because of a new staff team, theyve included activities for the tenants and thats wonderful .

I am writing an update on my previous review. My husband and I moved in to our apartment at Chelsea 88 on November 03, 2018. We have had nothing but endless issues with our apartment from the time we moved in. Most of the issues have finally been corrected or repaired. They finally replaced our refrigerator and ordered us a brand new refrigerator. However I continue to ask the manager in the office for a better one and she told me consistently there was nothing she could do to replace it. Which was not entirely true. They only have one maintenance worker that does a good job ?? his name is Arnez and he has been great so far!!! The others seem to be quite lazy. So as I stated before they have fixed most of the issues but then I became ill ?? from the Mildew/mold in my apartment and they are fully aware of but don't inform residents about this prior to move in. I had to go to the ER and 4 medical professionals that worked with me told me that the Mildew/mold would need to be removed/the issue resolved and there is no way around that. However when a maintenance member and the operations manager came out they said that this Mildew/mold was normal and there is nothing they can do about it. So in a nutshell?? they don't care about their residents well being. Please don't rent an apartment here. Some of the staff are sneaky and they want you to accept anything from them while paying a hefty price tag for a crappy apartment. The apartments have a lot of issues-they will constantly make excuses saying these "apartments are old". Truth be told, they are old and poorly maintained. So because of the apartments being old Chelsea are you saying that it is right or fair that my husband and I have to sleep on the floor? Which is ABSURD (we pay $1,136) per month for rent and we paid $2,135 up front the day we moved in(WHAT A RIP-OFF) Chelsea 88 is just plain shady.... I will update this review soon to keep others informed about if this issue was ever resolved. However right now Chelsea 88 refuses to do anything about this matter??

Overall the apartment is very quiet. We are on the top floor and we rarely hear our neighbors. We have only been here since June but so far it has been good. Parking is an absolute joke. If you get home or leave your house anytime after 5:00, good luck finding parking anywhere even close to your building. But overall, the apartments themselves are very comfortable. We had a slight cockroach problem a few months ago and they came to spray and we havent seen them since then. Our service requests always get answered within a day or two, too. Also the fact that we have a washer and dryer is lovely.

So far we had no problems. The only problem I had so far, had something to do with the gate not working. But everything else is working out fine. We got a great shady apartment unit, where the sun is not blasting through the window, and the trash can outside the door is very convenient. I just wish the main trash was near the exit.

I usually don't attend community functions but this past Halloween I decided to be part of the trunk or treat event and I do not regret doing so . It was delightful to see so many children enjoy themselves , they were so polite and happy . I really felt like I was part of the community, everyone was so welcoming and I intend on attending futur community functions! I truly enjoy living here ; the entire Chelsea team including maintenance are a delight ! My husband enjoys taking our dog Odie on walks especially on the trail. My brother in law came to visit us for the first time the other day and had nothing but good things to say about our community , he was so impressed. Thank you again for making this place HOME!
