I just moved in Idlewylde last month, and I am very satisfied with my apartment and so far so good with the neighbors, during the last days of summer I did noticed a lot of cockroaches around, but considering we live in Georgia where there's all kinds of bugs, that's gonna happen in any apartment complex, my only complaint is that the Gym is not done yet and I want to be able to work out, but Cesar has informed me that it should be finish by November, other than that I do recommend renting at Idlewylde apartments.

I've lived here since 2012 I can't speak for anyone else but my experience has been pleasurable. I especially love the new staff T.J and Nichole Parsons whenever I've had issues they always took care of them really fast. I enjoy living here I've never had any issues and the property is one of the most beautiful I've Seen in this area and it continues to improve I recommend living here there are so many pros and in my opinion not a ton of cons!!!!

I am a military officer here in Duluth on a 10 month temporary assignment. I selected Idlewylde because it was a gated community, aesthetically pleasing, in close proximity to work and the rent was very competitive. I am writing because Idlewylde is thankfully under a phenomenal new management team. My experience over the last three months has simply been outstanding. They are extremely friendly, engaging, informative, helpful, approachable, caring and professional. As soon as they took over, things began to change for the better. The new team began to make immediate improvements to the common areas and grounds. It was an excellent place to start as they chose improvements that impacted all residents. The most notable and immediate change was security gate management. Under the old management team, I could count on one hand the number of days per month the gates were closed and operational. Now, are managed and always secure and operational. The new managers are really the best I ve seen. They have put processes in place that make everything run efficiently, something that previous management was not quite able to accomplish. It is difficult to articulate how welcome they make you feel and the sense of community you get because of who they are, what they do, and how they do it. The office staff that remained from the previous management team is the best of the best. It is a pleasure to walk into the office now because I know my management team , and I mean everyone in the front office, will be happy to see me and will most certainly be able to take care of my needs. Last but not least, the maintenance team. Maintenance can make or break customer satisfaction. In the case of Idlewylde and there maintenance professionals, you will only do worse by selecting a different apartment complex to call home. I recently had an issue very early in the morning (4:30 am). I called the 24 hour maintenance line and reported my issue. Within 20 minutes, I received a call from the action team member and we scheduled an extremely timely solution. This is true worry-free living. In conclusion, IDLEWYLDE IS UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT! I have lived under both the old and the new and must say that there is no comparison between the way things were four months ago and now. I highly recommend Idlewylde to anyone who is looking for a fantastic home that is safe, worry-free, attractive, inviting, comfortable, convenient, economic, all with a strong sense of community that has been established by the new management team, et al. Respectfully,

I've lived at Idlewylde for over a year. They just changed management to Cortland?? It used to be Associated Estates. I NEVER had ANY problems when it came down to the leasing office, maintenance, or security or the water bill UNTIL the new management took over. Let me tell you some of the things that have changed for the worse. #1 THEY JACKED UP THE WATER BILL. It used to be somewhere from $25.00 to $30 every month for a one bedroom apartment per person . RIGHT AFTER CORTLAND TOOK OVER and changed to their utility company, the water bill DOUBLED. to $50 to $60. I went to the office RIGHT AWAY to inquire about this and low and behold the phones were ringing off the hook about the SAME problem about UNEXPLAINED MASSIVE increase in water bill. There was also a line and people waiting with the utility bill in their hand. After being told, that it is an error and they would get back to me. I received a letter in the mail SAYING I am past due and to PAY my utility bill IMMEDIATELY. I paid it because they assured me that the next month the meter should go back to the way it was. DID IT??? NO. They continue to charge you double the water bill than what its been for the past year.#2 NOW, NOT ONLY do they DOUBLE YOUR WATER BILL WITH NO EXPLANATION, they will ALSO SHUT YOUR WATER OFF with NO PRIOR NOTICE and then SEND YOU A LETTER APOLOGIZING BLAMING THE COUNTY saying they gave no notice. They have shut off your water with no notice or couple hours notice 3 times in the month of APRIL and 2 times already in MAY. and then they charge me double? #3 The billing statement they send you for your rent does not include your rent information etc. I believe this is because they are still trying to get their stuff together since taking over but no excuse. Some of the office staff is sincerely courteous. I would say LASHAE, I'm not sure if I spelled her name correctly but she seemed to be the only one who really seemed to sincerely care or try to help you. AS FOR SOME OF THE OTHER LEASING CONSULTANTS, I cannot say the same. They seem irritated to even hear your issues or very unwilling to want to solve whatever problem is going on. They will just say I don't know and say they will get back to you and never do. ALSO, they told me they do not give our receipts for your rent payment anymore. Associated Estates used to make a copy of my money order or check and sign the copy with their name and date giving me peace of mind that I have proof that someone in the office got it. TODAY, I'm told. THEY DO NOT GIVE RECEIPTS ANYMORE. Funny they say that because it advertises that they give fax and copy services as amenities to residents however they can't so much as copy my damn RENT. Unbelievable.

So far all of the reviews are true here. I lived here for a year and the gates probably worked 20% of the time. My name was never entered into the gate code, which doesnt matter too much since they keep the gates open. Too many dog owners who do not pick up after their pooch. The fitness center have broken machines that they never fixed. Other than that, the actual apartment room is decent. I kept on having issues with this stove not working, but they were good about coming by within a day or 2 after service call. Now I'm forced to move because they want to increase my rent by $235, unbelievable.

Just move in here like 2 days ago.... And it's not the best experience yet.... Having some issues, refrigerator leaking, microwave acting up (bipping none stop), stove having some electric spark , and so and so. Leasing office sucks really bad communication skills. Let's see how the first week goes.... And wait if you have spring allergies wait until the fall to move in.... The breezeways are full of pollen dust. It is the very first negative comment I ever done in my whole life.

Photos: (wouldn't let me upload from work computer - will update when i get home) JUST WAIT! Solidifies my (and the other reviewers) ENTIRE review. Picture of the overflowing trash. Picture of the prostitute at the Chevron gas station down the street. Picture of the chocolate syrup graffiti that is STILL there. Photo of trash left in front of one of the apt buildings after they evicted someone. If you want to consider where you live your tranquil serene enviornment DO NOT MOVE HERE! I PROMISE YOU. This was the WORST living experience and I would not want ANYONE to go into this community blind sighted. I moved in in september, it is now MAY and the gates have YET to close. They have not worked since I moved in 8 months ago. There is graffiti, gang activity, people that stand in the dumpsters and go through peoples trash as well as their paper trash. There are ALWAYS people loitering, there are 2 prostitutes that live in this complex and walk the community streets (trust me you'll be able to spot them), not to mention that the trash overflows onto the street. The leasing office staff knows NOTHING about this community and in fact will tell you a lie to get you off the phone. It has happened more than once. Maintanence does NOT repair anything that you call them to fix - that is a guarantee. I have had maintanence enter my apartment without notice, which caused my alarm to sound and me to have the police dispatched. Nobody from the community ever called me to let me know they were in my apartment or that my alarm was sounding. Needless to say, I wouldn't write all of this or make all of this up. This is all from a real life experience. I would never recommend this community to ANYONE. Especially anyone that wants to keep their sanity. Please, for your own sake, don't rent here. You WILL regret it. Sincerely, Someone who wished they would have listened.

I lived here from 2009-2010 and had no issues so I decided to move back in July 2012. I think that is the worst mistake I have ever made in my whole life. I was told my apartment would be ready and I could pick up my keys after noon, which is what I planned on doing after I packed up my entire house and belongings. Low and behold I was told it wasn't going to be ready until the next day. I literally had no place to go so I pushed the issue and got my keys at 5pm, only to walk into the unit and the carpets were still soaking wet, but at least I had someplace to sleep. I gave them a list of items that needed to be replaced and here it is April, none of those items have been fixed. Good luck trying to speak to anybody in management, they sit in the back room with the doors closed. They think because they changed management companies it's going to b better. The new company left a note on the door stating all terms of the lease are going to remain the same, however that is not true. They have added Fees that were not in the lease I signed. Their billing department sends incorrect bills however it seems the resident is responsible for ensuring the bill is correct. The water bill is outrageous. The gates in this "gated" community never work, the dumpster was out of order and the trash was piled up so high it looked like a landfill. The tennis courts are locked and nobody in the office seems to know why. Let's not even get started on the lackluster fitness centers. The nature trail is littered with shattered glass and garbage. The kids throw rocks at moving cars. This place has gone down hill and the new management company is already starting off on a bad note. The apartments themselves are decent, but everything else makes this a horrible place to live and I am getting out sooner rather than later.

I have been living here since the fall of 2010. The only reason we have stayed is because of pure laziness in not wanting to look for another apartment. They have changed management several times and it still gets no better. It takes about 3 people to find one package in a closet. You can sit there for over 20 minutes before anyone even asks you can they help you. They really sit in the back room and ignore you while they laugh and talk. If you talk to one leasing agent, rest assured that if you talk to another, they're going to tell you something different. And don't have a maintenance issue because it will take days to get fixed. Our patio door wouldn't lock so we called them to fix it. We had to sleep in the apartment for days with an unlocked patio door because they wouldn't come fix it. You also have to call maintenance multiple times. They have even lost a package I was sent from Nordstrom's before and the department store had to send me another pair of boots. The gates are always open or always broken. The key cards often don't work and there have been times that I couldn't even get into the apartment complex because of that. They allow you to put satellites up all over the complex and then tell you you're not suppose to have them. For the majority of the time I have been here the basketball court has been closed and the fitness center bathrooms are never cleaned. Oh and the latest problem is there being no parking so the cars in front of my building are from people who live in other buildings and I have to park in other buildings and walk to mine. They will also not do anything about solicitations so be ready to have chinese food menus stuffed in your apartment door everyday and to see them all over the ground as well. The washer and dryers are often broken so you will lose your money after you put it in. They have even locked my boyfriends clothes in the laundry room and he had to wait until the next day to get them. Oh and you will most certainly dry your clothes multiple times because they won't dry the first time.

Please do not consider this place. The customer service isn't the best. Our apartment representative, Ashley, toured us around a one bedroom apartment, larger than the original one bedroom my sister was going to rent here. My sister was pleased and told Ashley she had the security deposit money. She was told that they do not accept checks as security deposits, but to bring a money order on the day of her move in 03/01/2013, and that the apartment had been locked for her. Come to realize, they rented it to somebody else and did not "lock" the aparment as she was promised. When she spoke to Ashley, she said that she was only saving $10.00 and why was she complaining, the point was not that, the point was that she was promised an apartment that was later rented out to someone else. Yet, no concrete explanations were given other than they could not move her into that aparment. Please reconsider elsewhere when looking for an apartment.

I have been here for 3 years now. Although there have been staff changes, they have always been pleasant and helpful. I love my apartment and when I have a maintenance issue, they are usually there to fix it within a matter of a couple of days. I work at the Mall of Georgia, so the location is perfect since there is no traffic on the way to work every day.

I moved here for a job relocation. I had been looking for a new place to reside that was not to far of a drive from work, affordable, and clean. I was able to do everything online and the agent offered to even send me pics of my actual apartment after I reserved my apt. online. I just renewed my lease and am still pleased with the way everything is going. I will say however that it is a busy office so I definitely take advantage of paying my rent online. Overall, I would reccomend this place to my friends.

I do not recommend this complex to anyone. Looks are deceiving, they sold me this nice story about the complex, but after signing the lease and moving in this has been the worst. Whenever I call to get things fix it takes them forever to come out and fix, and when I call to check the status of my work order the response I get is "the maintenance crew goes y what's important first, the they will come to your place". I thought anytime you tenant reports a issue it's important. I live here now ANSI will not be renewing my lease. Keep drive when you come down Boggs please don't stop here TRUST ME YU WILL BE HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED in the lack of customer service and tenant appreciation.

Do yourself a favor an read the reviews first before wasting your money on this community, my lease is almost up an i cannot wait to GTFO out of this place, at first they show you luxury apt life style but all thry want is their commisson off you, the office people are hard to get a hold of, maintence takes forever to get back to you about fixing things, the front an back gates are ALWAYS OPEN, this is not a gated community at all anyone can just walk right on in, the paint on the walls are soo cheap if you place your hand or anything next to them it will cause the wall to have a mark on it, half naked kids (wanna be thug life) walking around in groups making loud noise an rude. It is like a dog park here poop everywhere go you, some people in the community have PIT BULLS which are not allowed but they lie on the contract!!! If you believe this is a safe community for you to live in a believe what the office people say then LOL at you!

I've been living here for about 5 months and me and my boyfriend love it here. The landscape is always very well maintained and the layout of our apartment is the best i've come across. Very high ceilings which I absolutely love! we live in a 2 bedroom 2 bath corner unit with a wrap around balcony if you can get your hands on one i HIGHLY recommend it. The only thing that i absolutely can't stand in this place is the people!!! That 2 mile hiking trail they advertise is absolutely terrible because these parents will tell their kids to take out the trash...these lazy kids will take the trash down to the river by the trail and throw it in. The river is shallow so it doesnt float anywhere. Theres condoms along side the trail....these people don't give a damn about the environment. What urged me to write a review today was that I had ordered a $90 Zumba program it was delivered to my front door while I was sleeping (i work nights so i sleep most of the day) and it was stolen off my welcome mat... Also the neighbor upstairs had an adorable baby kitten that it left outside for 2 days with only a bowl of spoiled milk so I took the cat in posted a sign out front. Within hours the sign was ripped down by some kids, but I took care of that kitten for about a week and FINALLY the neighbor upstairs sent some kid to come get the kitten -_-. Thanks for letting me get attached to that baby then ripping it out of my arms jerk! lol Also the kids around here are vandals. There was a sprinkler in our back yard by our porch because they were seeding the grass and some kid through it onto our porch almost breaking the window and ruining our chairs...he was about 8 years old. When he saw my bf open the door he yelled some profanities and ran off. I would love nothing more than to go around strangling every single parent in this place for letting their kids be such a**holes to other people's property but what are you gonna do. For the money I don't think you are going to get better than this place, but I recommend you keep to yourself and watch your back! Every apartment complex has their issues. Also one more thing. I had 2 laundry baskets full i was taking to the laundromat (I don't use the on site laundry rooms they suck) and some woman standing out front said "wow you really let your chores go...." then wanted to watch my stuff for me in case I needed to go back into my apartment for something....it was really odd and uncomfortable.

Very sketchy neighbors!
We were excited to move into Idlewylde at first but that quickly changed after a few months! The apartment itself is pretty nice and we haven't had any problems with the appliances or anything. The community sucks though. We liked that it was a gated community but there's ALWAYS a gate that is broken, so whats the point! We have a neighbor that has a pit bull mix that lives above our garage and she lets the dog piss through the floorboards of the deck which leaks all over the opening of our garage. We've had to confront her and the Idlewylde staff about it numerous times! The people that live below our apartment plays their music extremely loud any given time of the day and the base is so loud it makes our furniture vibrate. We had a package delivered to our house while my boyfriend and I were still at work and when I got home I found that the package had been opened and rummaged through. Thankfully nothing was taken but it obviously shows that I have some sketchy --- neighbors!! If you're looking for a safe and quiet complex to rent at don't come here!

Do your research.
I am a current resident and yes when you first come in they are very helpful, nice, considerate. Decent price, decent looking. I have called the office several times today, they never answer the phone. The gates are always broken. There are pitbulls everywhere. Yes they keep the lawn maintenace up and pay Ameriscapes huge amounts of $$$$$ for it(illegal workers btw), but maintenance for you as a resident is a pain. They have new management but nothing has really changed. At least Katie and her associates answered the phone. Rent prices go up every time you resign your lease. So while they advertise a 1 bdrm for $620/month, it will go up to $775 next time. There are so many kids here, so it isn't quiet at all. Just last year a meth lab was closed down in Phase 2. I needed to pick up a package from the office from UPS, I waited for 15 minutes before any of the associates even bothered to ask me if I needed help. And of course the phone was ringing off the hook. They need to hire a receptionist. I still live here because it is close to my job, and other than what I have listed above no one has ever bothered me, my immediate neighbors are nice people. I also keep my apartment immaculately clean so I've never had any bug issues. These are just some things to consider if you move here. I think the complex is overrated by staff.

Pleasantly surprised
I was initially excited about the prospect of moving to this apartment complex. My son lived here several years ago and the apartment and complex were lovely. By the time I decided to take a tour, I was a bit apprehensive wondering if it had declined over the years. When I arrived at the leasing office, it was crowded. I waited and watched. I noticed that the staff never lost their composure. Everyone was treated with dignity and respect. Then a current tenant came in the office. I asked her how she liked the complex. She said she had been here for over six years and was very happy. I specifically asked her about noisy neighbors, crime and the like. She told me she had not had any problems. Then I went on the tour. I fell in love with the apartment. (I had just visited a DIFFERENT complex, loved the apartment, but quickly determined the area was not safe and the stafff did not care. I am really glad I waited for Idlewylde. The grounds are kept clean and well maintained. The staff always ask "is there any work order I can place for you". So far, I have not had any problems so my answer is always no. I met Alana, Sean, and V. All were professional, courteous, and attentive. I've been in national and international customer service management for several years. They do exemplify great customer service. So I've been here for three weeks, and I am very pleased. I am a bit concerned about the first and last water bill since I have never paid more than $30 for a water bill and that included trash. I will wait to see how that goes. But for my time, it's been a great experience. By the way, the pool, tennis courts, and fitness room are well maintained. The staff is excellent. I have had no problems and don't foresee any.
