DO NOT MOVE HERE!
First of all I've been burglerized twice in 6 months. The first time they kicked the door in. The second time it was unforced entry. When I informed the Leasing office of this they laughed. Well, not laugh, but they said "what can they do". Second, they tow your car for any reason, I mean they tow some 15-20 cars a week! It's becoming Ghettoville!<br><br>OH - I put in a maintenance request to turn on my alarm, November 2005. Maintenance came by about a week later, and said they needed to call the alarm company. Two months past, during that time I was robbed. The day after, they turned on my alarm system, and a week later the alarm company came by.

Overall It's acceptable...
I moved here on friday August 12th, 2005 - My leasing experience was okay, I mean, as far as the credit check, background, and leasing history went, they did it in timely matter! When I first moved in my garbage disposal didn't work, that following Monday Aug 15th I had the maintance crew there in a jiffy! I'm certain that they would have done it on SAT/SUN but the maintace people have that dedicated to there day's off. I picked a cul-de-sac area to live in, because of less traffic, and over a period of time you'll know who's coming in or out. 2000-2020 building area is so cool and quiet, I'll occassonally hear a few toddlers out door's playing, but its all harmless fun.<br>leasing people are great, like Latoya, Adena, Esther... It's not quite the leasingg staff that's not leasing, but it's the people that live her that make it un-plesant, you'll find that everywhere you live. Its has it up and down... HOME IS WHERE YOU MAKE IT.

Know who owns the property
While most if not all of the post reccomending that you not move in are true it all steams from the company that owns Idlewylde. AERC is known for being cheap and non caring. I have lived and have known people that have lived at their properties and the problems are the same throughout. The problem steams from the president down to the vice president of this community and filters down to the staff, complete incompetance. Take it from someone who has lived at Idlewylde, it is the worst run place from top to bottom of any community I have ever lived in and yes the element around the property and within the property is some of the worst around. One of the most UNSAFE places to live in probably the metro area. As far as the staff turning over, from what i hear you would not want to work for this comapny either and I have heard that from actual staff members

Water Bills are way too high
I am a single resident. I have gotten water bills ranging from over $87 to less than $12 for the same time periods. I have complained about this several times with no result. They always claim that they will resolve the issue and there are no results. The water company is worst than the management. No one is addressing the issues. There are several others that have the same problems with their water bills and they are not getting any results.

Just to share the truth
I have been a resident since April. The turnover of the staff has been near 100%. The factors that determined my decision to move in were promises by the then staff of amenities, most of which are not true, such as hours of the amenities and accessibility. Several things I was told as they come up, I am learning are not true, and the current staff will not stand behind what I was told. I had to ask for a copy of my lease, one month after move in. I was promised the lease within days after move in. I had to escalate a service order, after near a month, to have my mailbox fixed in order to get my mail, and it was done twice before I could access it. The staff became frustrated with me and quite defensive with my legitimate concerns. My gate code in the access gate was wrong over a month and it took a number of phone calls and visits to get it corrected. Each time I was promised my correct telephone number would be put in the system, and it wasn't. Most times when the office is telephoned, there is an immediate hold, if there is an answer at all, and it's not unusual for no one to return. I had an ongoing problem of cock roaches in my apartment and had to specifically ask for a special process to take place to eliminate them. Twice my apartment has been entered with the alarm on, and notice was given of the code on service order requests, and the police have come out. I left work once after verifying with the office there was no one from maintenance in my apartment, only to learn on arrival with the police, it was apartment maintenance. I was billed for one of the police visits as a false alarm, however, upon my request I was able to reduce the amount of the police department's bill from my rent. At one point, until I asked, when maintenance requests were filled, they'd enter the apartment and fixed the problem, I guess, and leave no notice. I had to call to get a status. Upon notice to the manager, they have started to leave notices, unfortunately, the requests at this time are ongoing and sometimes duplicated. If a request is sent online and does not include a copy to the manager, it may be a month before it is opened. I've had to follow up on several requests. Needless to say, I've become quite frustrated in dealing with the staff early on in my tenure. With the turnover, I never receive the same answer for the same question. At this point, the manager, although she is aware of this problem is supportive of the staff's position that I am difficult (as if all the problems are fabricated, yet they are verifiable) and has banned me, a tenant that pays on time each month with a number of legitimate resident problems, from the office based on lies of incompetent employees, rather than address the problem openly upon my request. The staff also threatened to call the police on my 10 year daughter upon inquiry of the playgrounds and amenities whereby she went in the office alone to request a map of the property to locate them. It was our first day of move in and she didn't know the apartment number, however, inquiry of my name would have informed them of that. When they refused to tell her locations of the playgrounds and she was persistent and asked for a map, they became agitated and threatened to call the police on her to get her to leave, which she did. Upon my inquiry to the manager, she defended the staff and did not apologize. Contact with the district manager supported the manager without facts or documentation, based solely on conversation she'd had with the manager prior to our conversation without my input. I wasn't surprised or disappointed. Bottom line the customer service is suffering and if you complain, you're likely to be the blame and suffer the repercussions. I'd certainly think about it and ask around if I were considering this property. I'm sorry I didn't know.

What a great place!
I just moved in to Idlewylde Apartments a week ago and this place is fabulous! Whenever I have a work order it gets taken care of immediately and the leasing staff in the office along with maintenance is friendly. There is plenty to do because of the amenities here. I literally dont have to leave my home because there is so much to do here.<br>What a great place to live!

Don't do it
I moved into the complex in July 2004...I had to keep calling prior to that to find out the status of my application it took about a month for them to get it together. True, they have beautiful ammenities, however they are never in working order or available, thus I pay high rate but I'm not able to enjoy anything that I'm paying for. They said they offered free aerobics class...that was ditched once a moved in...its a waste of money and time. Renter beware...find something better. Also, I was told one price when I came in to view the apartment, then it jumped by $50 when I went to sign my lease...scandoulous thats what Idlewylde is...I moved from FL had a U-hual truck and arrived on a Saturday evening...the worse experience ever!

Customer Service
Worst customer service that I have seen on my entire life. Employees at Burger King are 100 % more customer service driven than the one at this complex. Can not believe how they are still on business. It should be shut down.

Who is running this place?
I don't know who is running this place, but they do not know what they are doing. I have been living here for about 2 years, and the management has been so bad. Unprofessional, poor service, you name it. A few months ago, they brought in a new manager, and things began to improve. She made changes that really mattered to residents. She was on top of things, and service begant to improve. I thought that we were finally getting a break, and then all of sudden she was gone. She was the best manager that we had ever had, and they let her leave. I think her name was Linda, or something like that. I will tell you this, the manager they have now is just like all the others, excpet Linda. When my lese expires, I am moving......this place is hopeless.

What a Difference!
I have been living at Idlewylde for over a year, and I am so pleased by the changes that I have seen recently. There is a new manager and I think that most of the staff is new, and what a difference. The y are courteous, and help you when you call them.<br><br>I had a problem with the water in my apartment and I called the office to report it. I spoke to the manager and she assured me that it would be taken care of immediately and it was. The maintenance person was friendly and asked if everything else in my apartment was ok. I have seen lots of changes here and I am pleased to be a resident.<br><br>If you have not tried Idlewylde, now is the time!

<br> -Greeting's,<br><br>Idlewylde has the most un-reliable staff! and to it's to the degree I don't even freakin' live there. How's that? you wanna know? I came in on Nov 18th, to look at the apartment's, I really, really loved how the one bedroom apt looked. I really couldn't enjot it much because the damn lady, was in a rush, she didnt even wanna show me aroundor what they had to offer. <br><br>In the long run I was still in search of an apt. due to element Im livin' in California and I was apt huntin' and needed to find one fast! so I was like okay, I put down a $100.00 money order and $32.00 app fee. It is now Nov 30th! I still havent got word if I was accepted or not, LOL. I called and they lost my app, I'm soooo freakin' pissed you dont even know. BEWARE!

Terrible and Management does not work with you!!!
We have had a person shot, the car washes have been broken, people make loud noises, the weight room is almost always trashed and the managements and others working in the apartments are not willing to help ever. They have promised to fix things and help and it is never done. There is always a excuse. Do not live here if you want to have a stress free apartment life!!! Not Recommended!!!

Don't live here if you value your/your family's safety
All I can say is, this place is absolutely horrible. The police are there almost daily for everything from mobs of people screaming at eachother to someone getting shot:<br><br>http://www.gwinnettdailyonline.com/GDP/archive live here. No matter how nice the apartment and its ammedities might look on the surface, the people (residents and management) make it more like living in the ------ than a 'luxury apartment home'.

i live here now & HATE it
I have lived here for 7 months in the "new" phase thats a joke by the way. There are always kids sitting on peoples cars in the parking lot, blocking the ------ gates that never work & hanging out at the pool at midnight. And forget going to the pool, kids all day and no parents, kids throwing chairs, cursing. And I just discovered that now its section 8, which explains a lot & is why I'm moving out. If I wanted to live in the hood I would have moved there to start. Trust me they look nice but they are not

Going Downhill
I have lived here for 2 1/2 years and the complex is going downhill. There are always teenagers hanging around the amenities and are generally up to no good. The gates NEVER work. I think they work a combined total of a month the entire time I lived here. There are always new staff coming in and out and generally none of them are any help. The maintenance people are not helpful at all. The apartments look nice and they give good incentives but the neighborhood is bad. I am moving out because of all this and I would not recommended it to anyone.

Way too big to keep under control
I got a notice that I was a week late paying my rent and that I needed to come by the office and pay. I had paid three days before the due date. I called the front office and they realized they were wrong. <br>Two days later, 2nd late notice, I need to pay or I could be evicted! <br>They are morons. <br>I also got a noise notice on my door about my dog. I DON'T HAVE A DOG. <br>They cannot keep track of anything in the complex, because it's huge and they let anyone move in. I could get more into detail about all the prob's I've had but I don't have time.

Don't do it
This is the worst experience of apartment living that I had ever had to endure. The manager is fake and annoying. They have done nothing to fix the rapidly growing crime problem in this complex. They are always telling you that they are going to do one thing, yet nothing is ever fixed. To sum it all up.....if you want to live in the slum "------"....please come live here.

DON´T LIVE HERE
I have never been so miserable in any apartment as in this one. Every person here thinks it´s their right to crank their bass and stereos whenever they feel like it. I´ve already had to call the police for a noise complaint. This place has the rudest most inconsiderate tenants. I can´t wait to get out of here. What a mistake.

Magnet for trouble.
The complex is only a couple years old, atleast the 2nd phase, and so it´s pretty nice. I can´t complain about my actual apartment. But it seems as though the screening process for tenants must be pretty weak. I´ve heard there are three big time drug dealers in the complex. If anyone was watching the news in February, you´d know the complex was on lockdown after police traced a BMW with lojack into the complex, because a drug trafficker and suspected murdered stayed there. But he got away. The complex didn´t acknowledge the incident until a week later, I suppose after they were overwhelmed with complaints. <br>I put my patio table outside my apartment for literally three hours, and someone came up 4 flights of stairs to steal it, and thats not a one man job. <br>Little kids run around and throw rocks at cars. I´ve seen ATLEAST 5 cars with broken windows. <br>Two people in my building have had their apt´s broken into. <br>Yeah, apartment living isn´t like owning a home, but I´ve never lived in a complex IN GWINNETT where so much has happened.

Past tenant
I lived at Idlewylde for about 2 years and I had no problems. The staff was helpful and always handled things professionally. The only thing that was bad was the dog poop aroung my building...but that was because some of the dogowners weren´t smart enough to clean up their mess afterwards. I left because I was sick of wasting $$$$ on rent and bought a home. You guys need to get a life, stop whining, grow up and buy houses!

I hate living here and cannot wait to leave!!!!!!!
First and foremeost, the leasing staff are a bunch of stuck uu, selfish, snooby, lying, and greedy!!!!! They seem so nices in the begining (becasue they want you to lease!) but when a problem occurs they are no help. I have lived there for three years and they treat me like crap. I have never been late on any of my rent payments no complaints about me. I must agree with everyone else the GATES NEVER WORK!!! maybe once a month or once every other month. Parking sucks in my building, if I get home around 10pm, all the parking spaces are taken I have to park two buildings down!! I have seen a couple guys smoking pot and selling pot. These apartments look nice and nice inside but the residents around you are very much ------!! It wasn´t that way in the begining until about a year and a half ago. You can´t go to the gym b/c of all these young people that are there I am 25 so I am not that old but there are a lot teenagers loitering around the property. Using the pool--acting like a bunch of ------ thugs and hooligans! I am not racist because I myself am black but this is rediculous for the type of communitiy it is supposed to be. Please I beg of you do not move here you will regret it in the end! The amentities sounds nice but you can´t even use them! What is the point, try moving to 5375 sugarloaf pkwy, my friend lives there and she loves it!!!
