It is very crowded. Living conditions are not what they once were. Management is not good & racist. Loud cars. Not worth the price.

If you are looking for a quiet family community skip over The Walden!! DON'T LET THEM TRICK YOU!! The management seems so nice til they hook you & you sign the contract, then they don't give a ---- about you and are extremely rude! They lied to us saying our apartment was never lived in then when talking to the manager today she let it slip about ppl who lived there before us. We have a college girl who just moved in below us and constantly plays her music loud shaking our apartment beyond courtesy hours. Weve even called the cops on them for throwing a party. The management act as is they don't even believe me because this girl lived there a year ago and "they never had any problems with her then". Like I said though, it's seems like a perfect family community but management pushed to get as many ppl to live here as possible over the summer. It's very crowded. & the girl downstairs thinks its nothing but a party scene. I'm not the type to complain. I'm in my early 20s with a child. But this apartment complex is not what it seems. You think you're moving into one of the better complexes in the area... Think again. This place is sinking.. & FAST. It's your typical nothing special complex and not worth the extra money. I wish we had just moved into a more affordable complex. At least we wouldn't have been expecting a nice place. BEWARE!!!!!

...Happiness...
Never have I ever visited an apartment community and been treated so spectacular! These people actually care! I was visiting Walden when I received a job offer to be a teacher in the area. Unfortunately, I turned it down for a higher paying job a little ways south of GA. Boy do I wish I could take Hannah and all the staff with me! So kind and fun! I wasn't at all looking forward to the home search.. it's a stressful thing! But when I left the office door, I felt so refreshed! I actually felt better about ME, myself! I know this is kind of irrelevant and I know they aren't therapist, but that's how wonderful they made me feel. Their apartments were beautiful and the grounds were colorful. What a wonderful place and a very wonderful experience that I will never forget!

Walden is wonderful
These negative review are hilarious. I have lived/live in Walden. I moved away for 6 months to be closer to work. Huge mistakes. I had forgotten my my gateway box for my Internet and even though I did not live there anymore they first remembered me by name and took care of it promptly. The pet fee is one of the cheapest I've ever paid even with the 50 dollars extra for the new Doggie DNA thing they have now, for those who are too lazy to clean up after their pets. The grounds are always beautiful in both areas I was. But yes it's a pet fee. I went to one apartment and not only was it 400-450 for a pet FEE they also wanted to pay a 10 dollar a month rent fee for your pet. Now that is outrageous! The apartment people have clearly seen its an issue and are fixing it. Like always Sadly no you will not see the staff members at any KKk meetings.... I'm guessing that comment was made by a 18 year old GIRL who probably is just trying to move out for the first time and had no idea what she is talking about. Clearly. Peoples complaints are unrealistic. You can not control what times the residents leave. This is an apartment community. Not a boarding school w a curfew. Yes they have "quite hours" but again that is like saying this guys truck should live furthest away from the unit with the sterile non smokers and anti-PETA ppl.... They have places like this its called a house. The staff here is amazing. They always greet me and my little one by name. The eye sore of a speed bump is to make sure people don't tailgate you in. For everyone's safety. Yes they are excessive and I hate going over them in my boyfriends porsche. But there are a good bite of children and equivalent ratio for people I'm sure would speed through an apartment community. It's not an eye sore it's safety but If they would approve it I'll have my playful 5 year old draw some beautiful flowers on them. The price is amazing and the biggest bang for your buck. I pay 240 dollars less than I did in the run down dump i was living in in Buford. I never have trouble finding parking the grounds keepers are friendly and professional. It's close to everything. Great schools around including community college. I LOVE WALDEN!!

Excellent living for a decent price
My husband and I have lived here for a year and have 3 more months on our 15-month lease. Unfortunately, we will be moving when our lease is up so we can be closer to our jobs - we would certainly stay if we could! Location: Located in Oakwood with easy access to I-985, Gainesville, Flowery Branch, and Buford. There are several options for food at the Oakwood exit, including Buffalo's, a personal favorite. The public library is less than 5 minutes away. Management: The management has been incredibly helpful since we first came and saw the property. The same people have been around for at least the past year (probably longer) and always ask how we are and whether we need anything with the apartment. Maintenance: Over the past year, we have had two maintenance issues that were taken care of almost immediately (within 24 hours or less of putting in a request). Management always notifies us when maintenance will be coming to do preventative maintenance (yes, they're proactive!) a few days in advance. Safety: The parking lot is well lit, and there are always available spots near my door. To my knowledge, there has only been one non-violent crime committed here in the past year, and the culprits were caught. Not only is the complex safe, but the surrounding area seems to mirror the same. Activities/Amenities: The management team offers social activities every month or two including a summer pool party and a winter holiday party. There is a pool with an outdoor grilling area and fitness center near the front of the complex as well as a car care center at the back; a laundry facility is located next to the main clubhouse. Secured Access: There is a gated entrance that requires a keycard (or remote) to enter - only one car at a time. The same keycard is used to access the pool, laundry facility, and fitness center. When cars impatiently drive through the motorized arm at the gate, it is fixed within hours. Apartment Community: This is a diverse community with young families, retirees, and a few college-aged residents. Our neighbors have been kind and courteous. We have NEVER had an issue with any bugs, mold, or other issues that plague many apartment complexes. Floorplans: We live in a 1 bedroom/1 bath with a sunroom (approx. 860 sq. ft.). The floorplan is very open, with the kitchen looking out into the living room/sunroom. The kitchen has an electric stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, and pantry. There is a dining room directly off the kitchen that is large enough for a standard 4-person table and chairs. The bathroom offers plenty of counter and under-the-counter space. A fair sized linen closet and nice garden tub round it out nicely. The bedroom holds our full sized bed quite well, and would probably hold a king-sized bed pretty well. The closet offers hanging and shelving space (We removed some of the shelves to allow for more hanging space.) There is a large storage closet off the balcony/sunroom as well as a coat closet just inside the main door of the apartment. The laundry room is spacious enough to store our washer, dryer, vacuum cleaner, iron/ironing board, large fan, and other miscellaneous items. Miscellaneous: There is a little noise traveling from apartment to apartment, although the amount will depend on how courteous your neighbors are. (I've heard music/dogs barking during the day, but it's silent at night.) The grounds and buildings are always clean. Animals are accepted (for a $300 non-refundable pet fee). I have tried to give lots of details in order to paint an accurate picture of how great this complex is. As I said earlier, we certainly would not move if it weren't for the fact that we both work about an hour away.

Nice apartments, good service
My husband & I lived at Walden for about 15 months. We had a very good experience living there. Here are the pros & cons we experienced: Pros Clean & new - nice fixtures, carpet, appliances, etc. Management was courteous and helpful Maintenance crew always took care of problems in 24 hours Convenient to I-985, grocery store & restaurants Cons A little pricey Larger pool needed for so many residents Probably should have smoke-free units, pet-free units & child-free units if possible

I love Walden at Oakwood!!!
I moved in at the end of June 2011. The office staff is professional and friendly. Each time I have walked through the door they stop whatever they are doing to listen and assist me. The fitness center is amazing! The grounds are beautiful the gates are always closed and only allow one car in at a time so safety is never an issue. I put in a workorder request and the work was completed within 24 hours of my request. In the Resident business center they offer gourmet coffee all different flavors. They have a salt water pool with grills and a flat screen outside. Very upscale! The property is conveniently located to shopping and entertainment. So happy that I moved to Walden!!! O:)

Racist Manager
If you're --------, DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE. The manager is as racist as it gets. Will treat you like a second class citizen.

Why the changes?
I am currently a tenant in Walden and a few things have started to concern me. First off, I cannot get a clear answer on what my pet deposit is going to. I have been told that it's a non-refundable fee, but I've also been told it's a deposit. I hope Walden doesn't become like other apartment community where they try to screw you. Secondly, there's a young gentleman who drives a big, loud truck that leaves at all hours of the night. He has a loud muffler and I wish the Management would take care of the issue. The kid and his buddies also park in 2-3 spots each, making it hard for other cars to find parking. Another thing, no one (I repeat, NO ONE) picks up after their pets. It's quite disgusting seeing pet waste all over the grounds. Also, the new speed bumps are terrible. I understand the need for safety, but they are an eye-sore and are in terrible locations. Honestly, who thought of the one right at the gate? Lastly, the pool is way too small. Although it's gorgeous, it's annoying to have to fight for a place to sit on the weekends. We have just stopped going all together. Overall, I've enjoyed my stay. I still think the prices are a little high. I'm not sure if I'll renew or not, but I hope my opinion has helped. Thanks, BS

i have been living here for over a year. these apartments were just built when i moved in. the actual apartment is so amazing and beautiful. the porch is pretty big compared to some places. the pool is salt water and there is an outdoor kitchen with a fireplace n tv n grills n the pool chairs are so comfy. its so pretty here! i hate to leave it but i need to upgrade out of a one bedroom which i pay the special price for not full price and cant afford the two bdrm even at the special price. but you definitely get what you pay for!! so worth it. wish i could stay because i know when i move ill regret it!!! the staff is great. always gets things done and works with me when i have a problem with something. keeps the pool and the grass clean. pretty landscape too with all the flowers. people are friendly here too. they actually say hi and wave even when they dont know you. ahhh i dont want to leave :[

Beautiful Residence
My husband and I needed a break! We made the best decision by choosing to move into the Walden @ Oakwood. Clean, quiet, secure, and an awesome staff who always seem to remember us by name (which is odd because they rarely see us). After living in our own home for nearly 20 years, we thought that the transition would be difficult. To our surprise, it has been a pleasure! Did I mention quiet?
