Way Too Thin Walls/Ceiling-Seriously
We just moved in and all I can say is you can hear every footstep made by your neighbors above you. Also, you can hear every time plumbing is used, such as toilet flushing, washing machine being used, etc. I have lived in apartments before but never under a roof so thin. I'm sure they have heard these complaints several times but for obvious reasons do not disclose this. Our apartment is beautiful and other than noisy inconsiderate neighbors stomping around the place at 6:00 a.m. and letting their kids run around the apartment for hours on end; it's a great place to live so far. However, we will not be renewing our lease solely based on the paper thin walls and ceiling. If you can live on the TOP FLOOR I'm sure it's the most IDEAL place to live. :)

Looks good on the surface!
The Avonlea at Towne Lake does all it can to make a positive first impression. They have attractive grounds and buildings. The leasing agents are attractive and well spoken. It has all the ammenities. They do there best to make you feel at home when they are giving you the tour. But if you are considering moving into these apartments there are a few thing that you should know. First off, the apartments have paper thin walls. You can easily hear your neighbors on all sides. I thought for my first few weeks there that I had a elephant living above me because the whole apartment shook when the tenents walked around. Tenents tend to be rather noisy especilly on the weekends. If you make a complaint nothing is done about it. The Utility company that they use, Conservice, is the biggest ripoff. The leasing agent will tell you that utilities average $125 a month but my bill was never that cheap. I had turned my air/heat off, unplugged every appliance and outlet and my bill was still $190. The agents will tell you otherwise but I believe that they estimate usage instead of checking the meters. My heater made a terrible screeching sound every time it came on. When I asked to have it looked at someone stopped by and said that they fixed it but it still made the noise and it constantly woke me up when I was trying to sleep. I asked if there was something that could be done but I was ignored. The grounds have dog poop all over, so watch where you step. Parking wasn't a problem when I first moved in but my last few months there very often I had to park several hundred yards from my apartment. When I asked if there was something that could be done about this the management said "NO". Lastly, when I moved out I was charged $400 plus dollars for what they called damage to the apartment that was left in immaculate condition. I highly suggest to anyone considering The Avonlea at Towne Lake to look elsewhere. You will be doing yourself a huge favor.

Noise, and Charges and Crappy Staff, Oh My
I have lived at the Avonlea for 2 years, and could not get out fast enough. Thankfully my lease is up soon, and I will no longer have to deal with the staff and the noise and the kids, and the dogs crying in apartments, and the TRAILOR PARK directly behind the apartments, the occasional gunshot, domestic dispute, the solicitors, the lulling sound of Dixie Speedway racing, oh and let s not forget the wonderful sound of the Woodstock High School football games and band practices. I understand some of these issues are the norm for living in an apartment, but if the staff was a tad more accomodating, and willing to drop a dime on upkeep, maybe it wouldn t be so frustrating. I am not some crazy old person, I am a young professional working in the Atlanta area, who enjoys living outside of the city, and truly wanted to stay residing in the apartments until I decided upon a home to purchase. But due to the lack of care and the decline of the apartments I m moving into a rental home. Positives: Maintenance staff is friendly, knowledgeable and fast Apartments have an airy and open feel, and are spacious Grounds are relatively well kept If you re into that sort of thing, they offer BINGO, Arts and Crafts and free breakfast monthly Please see Issues below: The apartments have NO SOUNDPROOFING, Examples: o I can hear my upstairs neighbors get up every morning, open every cabinet, and yes even hear the guy upstairs pee o I can hear my upstairs neighbors bed creaking when they have sex (it is the ONLY sound, lol) o I can hear every dropped plate, heavy footstep, dropped dumbbell (he lifts weights) o I can hear them VACUMING! o I can hear their washer and dryer every night when running *this is all heard over my TV or my radio or while lying in bed at 5am* When paying rent, if you have an emergency and must pay late, they KILL you with late fees, even if it is turned in on the 6th day of the month. We re talking, they push the price to the max rate (A 1 bedroom becomes 900 a month with a 50.00 late fee) If you do pay one day late, before you arrive home after work, you will have a notice of eviction on your door, demanding payment or face eviction proceedings by the 10th of the month You will then be advised that payments must be made in money order only, no checks, because you re late! They do not have the capability to pay with a credit card online, and if you ask them to pay it for you, they add a $20.00 a month credit card processing fee I made the error of advising I would like to sign up for the credit card auto pay (even paying the 20.00 a month fee) when I dropped off my rent check this summer. Filled out the paperwork, and was advised that the payments would start being deducted the next month. I head to the grocery store the next day, and BAM! My card is hit, and my check was deposited THE SAME DAY, resulting in 1500.00 coming out of my account in one day, causing overdrafts galore, which they DID NOT cover They advise that after living there one year, that they will refund part of your deposit ( I paid 900.00 dollars) if you renew your lease. I offered the office the ability to look through my apartment, so I may receive my deposit back, but was told because I paid late (the one time mentioned above) I did not qualify to receive any of my deposit back until I left the apartments permanantly I enquired to their offer of a free carpet cleaning after one year of living in the apartments, and was advised that they no longer offer that service, but I could have them cleaned at my expense if I chose. They banned alcohol at the pool this past summer o Here s the deal, I get that some people don t like to drink, but this is a 21 and up apartment complex, and if I, as a consenting adult who pays the highest rent amount in the Woodstock/Town lake area wishes to lay by the pool and enjoy a cold beer, I should be able too. If this was the case when I moved in, I honestly would not have moved into these apartments in the first place. I enjoy what little recreation time I have, and do not need to be policed by an apartment complex while the staff walks by and does cup checks (yes they actually do this) In the past 2 years I have lived here they have raised the rent 2 times. When I moved in, the rent was 675 for a 1 bedroom 900 square foot apartment. Upon renewal last year, the team revoked my new lease special of 25 bucks a month and upped the rent to 730.00. When asked if they would renegotiate, I received a flat NO. o This year when renewal time came again, I was advised that the rent was going up yet again to 775.00 No explanation, no negotiation. Just here is your new payment. At that cost, I d rather pay an extra 100-200 dollars and get a home, which is what I did Utilities are SKY HIGH o The apartment uses a services called ConService Utilities and Con is right They are CRAZY expensive. There is a monthly processing fee of 10.00? I pay them 10.00 bucks to bill me. Gee Thanks. To pay online, there is a 3.00 charge. They charge 11.60 for sewer, 11.60 for water, 5.00 for trash, which I take to the dumpster myself and 8.3333 per khw used. Doesn t seem like much? That is TWICE what Georgia power charges. So my bill, for a single girl in a one bedroom apartment can vary from 120-180 a month. It s a rip off. Thanks Avonlea. Anyways, now that I m done ranting, I just hope I have saved someone some heartache. Look at The Heights, or at another apartment complex.

Awesome Place!
My experience here has been nothing short of ideal. I know that sounds strange to say about any apartment complex, but I have no complaints. The location is perfect, my apartment is spacious, well maintained, and quiet. I could go on about the apartment complex, the landscaping, the amazing amentities, etc., but as great as all these are, the office staff is what sets Avonlea apart from the rest. Cathy, Mandy, Genny and Crystal are wonderful people. They impressed me when I was just "shopping" for a place to stay, and have continued to exceed all my expectations since I moved in.

We will be Avonleaving when our lease expires.
My wife and I have lived here since December 2008. To be fair, I will mention the good first. I will mention the bad second. I will mention the less than ideal third. And I will save overall comments for last. THE GOOD: The location of the complex makes it convenient to many shopping centers, restaurants, movie theaters, parks, churches, medical centers, pharmacies, car dealerships, and highways/interstates (if we either want or need to do something farther away). Atlanta is within 1 hour south and the mountains are within 1 hour north. The Brookshire (2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms) floor plan of our apartment is laid out well, and it is open and airy. There is a lot of storage space. There are many large windows which let in a lot of sunlight. And the walls are sufficiently soundproof. We have seen only 1 cockroach in our apartment, and we have been here almost 3 years. So, it was probably carried in with something. We have seen no other pests in our apartment. The maintenance man who has serviced our air conditioner has been responsive, helpful, and polite. The majority of the maintenance done on our apartment has been scheduled maintenance/maintenance done on every apartment simultaneously. We met and had pleasant conversations with 2 nice older couples at 2 of the social gatherings here, and I had a pleasant conversation in our parking lot with a nice man who asked me about my new car. THE BAD: Rowdy people (always loud, sometimes drinking alcohol despite the recently communicated rule against it, and once having sex) in the pool long after the pool closing time of 10:00pm (as late as 1:30am) and (to a lesser extent) long before the pool opening time of 9:00am (as early as 5:30am) have been a nearly constant source of aggravation, because my wife and I work full time and she is often required to wake up early (sometimes as early as 4:15am). I have called the after hours answering service many times, but I have seen the courtesy officer remove rowdy people from the pool only twice. I have had to resort to confronting rowdy people twice (once at 12:30am and once at 5:30am). The courtesy officer claims to have responded to all of our calls, and management claims no one else has called to report rowdy people in the pool. Management made a point of telling me the courtesy officer is a police officer, and then management told us it is our responsibility to enforce the pool rules by calling the police rather than the after hours answering service and the courtesy officer. If the courtesy officer will not enforce the pool rules, I think they should be calling the police. Management suggested we move to an apartment elsewhere in the complex. We should not need to move ourselves and our belongings out of our apartment because management and the courtesy officer will not move rowdy people out of the pool when they are not supposed to be in it. Since we told management we would be posting negative reviews online and escalated our concerns to Quintus July 29 (It is now August 5.), the pool has been as quiet as a tomb from 10:00pm to 9:00am. If the quiet continues for a while, I will update this review to report this problem has been solved. The exit gate would not open for my wife in the afternoon. So, she tried backing up and moving forward again 3 times but it still would not open. A young man in the pickup behind her repeatedly yelled/cussed at her. Then he threatened to move my wife's car himself when she left it to ask the leasing office for help. The leasing office told her to try backing up and moving forward again, and she told them she had already tried that 3 times. So, maintenance opened the exit gate. The exit gate (and the entrance gates) remained open the rest of the day and through the night. So, the exit gate had definitely been malfunctioning and the young man in the pickup had no right to harass my wife. The leasing office spoke with the young man in the pickup, and he said he was only trying to help my wife. And management told me that in a tone which implied they believed him and thought my wife was delusional. While my wife was in our apartment, someone with a tow hitch on their vehicle backed into my wife's car's rear bumper which removed most of the paint where my wife's car's rear bumper was hit. They drove away without even leaving a note on my wife's car's windshield. So, my wife must pay to repair her car rather than the thoughtless person who damaged it. When I arrived home from work, I immediately checked every vehicle parked in the complex (except vehicles parked in garages, of course) hoping to find the vehicle which backed into my wife's car's rear bumper, but I could not find a vehicle with a tow hitch which was damaged and/or had my wife's car's paint on it. If vehicles with tow hitches park in our lot and I do not recognize them, I am inclined to (and often do) check for damage and/or my wife's car's paint on those vehicles' tow hitches. I know accidents will happen in parking lots and the complex could do nothing to prevent this accident nor track down the driver, but the driver of the vehicle with the tow hitch could have done the right thing (particularly because the damage was much worse than a door ding). I previously sideswiped a car in our parking lot which was already heavily damaged on both sides, so the owner might not have noticed. But I still left a note on the car's windshield which clearly identified my car as the cause of the most recent damage and which told the owner our apartment number and our phone number, I was able to track down the owner via the father of her boyfriend that day, my wife paid her for the damage that day (creating no good karma for my wife, apparently), and I embarrassingly repaid my wife when I could. I called the after hours answering service and the police to report I heard someone shouting "I'm gonna shoot the motherf----r!" while I watched them and their friend storm away from an argument with someone living in the 9000 building. The shouter/potential shooter returned later. So, I called the police again and they picked up the shouter/potential shooter. When our DirecTV was not watchable for 1 week (It often was not watchable.), the person sent to service it told us someone in our building had spliced/piggybacked our line to get DirecTV for free. My wife entered the exercise room and found it and the fitness equipment had been vandalized, so she reported that to the leasing office. The leasing office has lost our rent check twice. Once, after dropping our rent check (on time) in the slot at the leasing office, I noticed it had not been cashed (We had not been told it was not received.). So, I had to stop payment (a pricey hassle) of the original check and hand a new check to someone in the leasing office. Once, I handed our rent check (on time) to someone in the leasing office and we received a late payment notice from the leasing office after a few days. So, I again had to stop payment (another pricey hassle) of an original check and hand a new check to someone in the leasing office. The day after I handed that new check to someone in the leasing office, there was a letter threatening action by collections left on our door. So, I had to call the leasing office to get confirmation that new check had not been lost. I found a completed work order on the table in our living room when I arrived home from work one evening which was surprising/suspicious because we had not requested any service. Maintenance had entered our apartment without prior notification/authorization which maintenance normally has the right to do, of course. But maintenance had entered our apartment because the leasing office incorrectly put our apartment number on the work order, and the work order said the apartment should be entered only by appointment. We have pets, so we prefer to know in advance if anyone will be entering our apartment (particularly for a non-emergency like removing a clot from a sink which was why the work order had been created) because we worry about our pets getting in the way of maintenance and/or getting out of our apartment. After the last major snowstorm, the upper (3000 building) half of the parking lot between the 2000 and 3000 buildings was a solid sheet of ice for 1 week. Nothing was done by complex staff to remove that ice, so residents' cars were stuck there for 1 week until sunshine finally melted it. Luckily, our cars had been parked in the lower (2000 building) half of the parking lot. Also, the ice (and the snow piles created by children) on the sidewalks around the 2000 building had been removed mostly by sunshine and foot traffic before complex staff finally removed the little ice (and snow) remaining there. THE LESS THAN IDEAL: The gates provide a false sense of security. They are always left open during the morning and evening rush hours, and they are often left open when the weather is bad (A drizzle is sometimes bad enough, apparently.). And there are numerous obvious and unobstructed ways to walk into the complex. Some of the residents are police officers, but their parked police cars provide another false sense of security because their parked police cars have not deterred residents from behaving badly. I do not expect off duty police officers to deter residents from behaving badly (with the exception of the courtesy officer), of course. The many large windows which let in a lot of sunlight also let in a lot of noise, unfortunately. I can hear music (clearly enough I could sing along) from Kayson's which is across and down the street, and I can hear cars racing at Dixie Speedway which is 1 exit south. A creek flows past the complex. So, the area around the gates will flood if there is heavy and sustained rain. Once, the area around the gates became impassable and some of the apartments (toward the back of the complex, if I remember correctly) were flooded. Papa John's sometimes provides discounted pizza to residents. But Papa John's erects a tent where residents are supposed to be able to park next to their mailboxes. If you are not comfortable parking your car in the main thoroughfare or if you cannot move well and walking from your parking lot to your mailbox is too much exertion, the placement of the Papa John's tent could be frustrating. Our water (throughout our apartment) occasionally has a brown tint. I usually do not object to noises which originate from the pool during the hours it is supposed to be open. But at a recent pool party, the DJ played the music so loudly our whole apartment was vibrating. If we had wanted to watch our television, we could not have heard it. The leasing office left their radio on at high volume (with a window open, apparently) for 3 entire nights, 2 entire days, and part of 1 morning. Someone there finally turned it off after I called to complain about the noise. In addition to the couple I saw having sex in the pool, I saw a couple having sex in a car parked by the leasing office and outside of the gates when I dropped our rent check in the slot late at night. I called the after hours answering service to report what I saw because the car was parked outside of the gates late at night, because your apartment is the appropriate place to be having sex if you are a resident, and because it seemed unlikely a resident (or residents) would be in a car parked outside of the gates late at night. OVERALL COMMENTS: We used to enjoy living here, and we used to tell everyone it was a wonderful complex. The rowdy people in the pool when it was supposed to be closed could be tolerated and the rarity of halfhearted attempts by the courtesy officer and management to remove them from the pool could be excused when there were no other aggravations/problems/concerns. But aggravations/problems/concerns have multiplied quickly recently. We are good people who would prefer to be surrounded by other good people at home and to feel safe at home. We sometimes have to put up with inconsiderate, irresponsible, and idiotic people at work. But we are paid to put up with them. When we arrive home, we want to relax. But we are paying to put up with more inconsiderate, irresponsible, and idiotic people. I see nothing wrong with the way we want to live. But I see many things wrong with where we are living. So, we will not be renewing our lease.

We have lived here for over 2 years and have had a few problems...Now they are happening daily. In the past 2 months we have experienced: (please read on for updates) 6/01/11-My car was hit in the parking lot, no note left and bumper scratched badly lots of paint removed, I had been home less than 1 hour. People engaging in inappropriate conduct more than once in pool area and outside of the gates...courtesy officer called. (Spoke with Quintus 8/11/2011 owner of Apartments: They do not approve of such behavior and encourage residents to report all disturbances to Courtesy officer or the police when it occurs) Wednesday-7/27/11 Exit gate stopped working, teen in truck behind me honking and making threatening statements, I got out to get help from the office, they opened the gate, and I was told I should have backed up and tried again to get out. I did that three times, it did not work and gate was open the rest of the night.(Spoke with Quintus 8/11/2011 owner of Apartments:Gates have had some sensitivity issues since being replaced after the Flood, seem to be operational now.) Thursday 7/28/11 Teens at the pool drinking after midnight , courtesy officer called twice, nobody responded my husband kicked teens out of pool at 12:35 AM, they did not even live here and complained they did not know the hours.(Spoke with Quintus 8/11/2011 owner of Apartments:Management does not encourage residents to take matters in their own hands(I agree) but that this is a big issue with all apartments...after hour disturbances, the courtesy officer did not respond, the courtesy officers are off duty cops something may have come up, My husband should have called 911. Since August 01,2011..the pool area has been quiet from 9:45 PM (before closing time of 10 PM) on..the noise level has improved greatly. Friday-07/29/11 My husband called the Manager, was told the noise at the pool is the price we have to pay for living in an apartment above it. The property is not responsible for damage to vehicles and there is no way to pursue the responsible party. If the courtsey officer does not feel like responding we should call the police. The office does not care if people are having sex around it. We are apparently the only ones who have complained about the noise and violations of the pool rules, even though we received a letter about 2 weeks ago banning alcohol from the pool area because there have been so many problems. Update:A couple months before we left a car tried to sneak into the gate behind us. The driver then followed us to the mailbox and accosted my husband. I got and took a picture of her tag and she started cussing and threatening us. We called the cops and they seemed to be familiar with her. this resident claimed to be a friend of management and said go ahead and report me they won't do anything. She was right management said some residents have a different gate card and.don't need to roll down the windows, etc. Basically if management likes you your fine otherwise watch out. All of the positive reviews on the site are from management and employees.

Getting Very Unsafe
This place used to be great! And still is to an extent. Very well kept, clean, and not noisy whatsoever. Ever. However, lately there has been a string of break ins and theft. I had my radio stolen right off my porch, another person I know has had their vehicle broken into and had their things stolen, and the police even told me when I filed my police report that there has been several recent reports of crime in the neighborhood. He said that people have been coming over from the trailer park located behind the complex and stealing and looking into peoples windows to see if they're home. I don't feel this is in any way the neighborhood's fault, because they seem to be doing all that they can do. And other than this I've never had any real problems. But unfortunately, everyone is starting to feel a little unsafe. This has only started happening within the past couple months. Hopefully something is done to keep people who don't live here out. Maybe a fence with barbed wire between here and the trailer park. Lol.

Great Apartments
I've lived in Avonlea for 3 years and will sign another lease with them. The staff is very nice and there isn't turn over, which is great. Also, maintenance responds to my requests within a day and the staff will follow-up to make sure any problem is fixed, not that I've had many at all. The grounds are kept very neat, as well. The breezeways are pressure washed every 6 months, the landscaping is constantly kept, if the gate is broken it is fixed very quickly and they've even painted the curb twice since I've been there. To keep up the level of cleanliness, trash is not allowed to sit outside of your door and dogs are required to be picked up after or you will be fined. There is the occasional noise from neighbors, but that happens in an apartment. Management will discretely address that for you, though. What I most like is that the neighborhood feels safe. I have an alarm system and there are two officers that live in the neighborhood. You don't see creepy people walking about at nights and only very rarely do you hear someone blare their stereo as they drive through.

Excellent!
I just moved in about 7 months ago and I must say that this is the best place I've ever lived. I have lived in apartments in the Woodstock area and The Avonlea beat all of my expectations. The staff is great and always nice and the maintenance was on top of anything that needed to be done. The girls in the office even go out on the property all the time to make sure things are up to standards. This is one of the nicest places I lived and I hope to stay for a long time.

AWESOME!!!
I have lived at Avonlea for almost 2 years and I honestly couldn't ask for a better place to live. I was not excited about leaving my house for an apartment to down size, but once I got here I loved it. I don't have to deal with any maintenance inside or outside my apartment. The staff in the office are always willing to help with anything and even go out of their way to call you if you have a package or if you needed something fixed in your apartment they call to make sure it was done in a timely manner. The greatest thing is they have activities all the time, which is great for my 2 kids. Not to mention me. I get to meet my neighbors so I don't feel like I'm in an apartment, but more in a neighborhood. Anyone that is thinking of apartment living this is def. the place to be.

Highly Recommended
I lived at The Avonlea for 3 years and never had a problem. The girls in the office were all very friendly and helpful. Any maintenance issues were resolved quickly. The only issue I had was with my neighbors upstair who seemed to do "everything" very loudly, but that is not something that management can do anything about.

Wonderful Apartment Community
I lived at the Avonlea at Towne Lake for one year. I moved because Woodstock is too far from Atlanta where I work. Overall, my experience here was excellent. The maintenance and upkeep on the property was excellent, and I never had a problem with management or the staff in the leasing office - in fact, just the opposite. Prior to moving, I was a little concerned because I had seen several negative reviews on this website (all of which said the same thing - management is great while you live there, but horrible when you move out). Well, I moved out in June, and got my entire security deposit back (minus my final utility bill, but that was expected). Based on my own experience, I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a very well kept apartment community in Woodstock.

Great until you move in!
The staf is great until you move in. Then after that they don't care about you or any of your problems. The manager is rude and the staff all lie to you. They are constanlty having little fees that go up and are known for telling you one thing and doing another. The property is nice but unless you want to be treated like crap then don' move in.

I have been here at the Avonlea for two and a half years, and it has been a terrific experience. The service is wonderful, and the location is so convenient. The office staff has always been very friendly and helpful to me. The grounds are kept very clean and the property is maintained very well. I think anyone would be proud to call Avonlea home!!

STAY AWAY-LEASING OFFICE IS A NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!
Ok, so I have really been sturggling with whether or not to write a review and then I had a horrible experience. So, I loved living there while I was there, but the second the leasing office caught wind of me leaving at the end of my lease my life became a living you know what. First they beg ou to stay then when you don't they go out of their way to make your experience miserable. The girls in the leasing office, especially the new one and the Property Manager are HORRIBLE!!! The new girl that works there is very young and this must be her first job! We had some issues with identity theft and this caused one of our rent checks to have an issue. This -------------------" thought it would be funny to tell all her little friends in Towne Lake that this happened to us. She also informed them that we were the laughing stock of the leasing office, and that we couldn't pay our rent on time. Well needless to say this got back to me and I am not happy. I called the leasing office to discuss this situation with the Property Manager and I was basically called a liar! I spoke with the Property Manager's boss and he was more than polite and informed me that the situation would be taken care of, but again I was questioned about the truth in this matter. Well, needless to say my phone call didn't go without retaliation. I just received my move out notice and they are trying to stick me with a $1000 bill. We didn't do our research before moving in to this place and now I wish we would have. If you would like more information or know a good lawyer please respond to me! If you don't want an awful experience stay far away from this place! One more thing to add, the courtesy officer is not very nice. He will not help out if he decides he doesn't like you! He gave us more grief than you could possibly imagine for no reason. We had to report him to his supervisor at the station for harassment.

Best Apartments in Towne Lake
The Avonlea staff has really gone out of their way. The apartment buildings, breezeways and parking lot have all been repainted and repaved. It has never looked better, not that it looked bad before. It is such a great place to bring my family and friends over to when they see how well the apartments are maintained. I am very proud to call Avonlea my home. I may never buy a house and stay here forever. It's great how the staff handles things so quickly. If I ever need anything they are on top of it. I would tell anyone looking for a quiet, nice, and beautiul place to live to come here! Go ahead and checkout their competiors first, because with the property and the staff you will want to call Avonlea your home! Hope to call you a neighbor soon!

nice to you when you move in...mean when you move out
I couldn't believe the way I was treated when we decided to not continue our contract...beware they will try to scam you. Also, when we first moved in things were tidy on the grounds but once we decided to move out there were even condoms in our front yard and they would not come and clean them up. One more thing...be careful about the pet deposit. It really isn't a "deposit" it is a pet fee so you won't get any money back.

Good Years at The Avonlea
I found the Avonlea Apartments to be the most beautiful of all the aparments I looked at when I first arrived in the area.<br>The grounds are kept neat and clean and they're not overrun with kids or cars. They just finished tarring the parking lot so it makes the place look really new.<br>I felt very safe. There is always a police car or two parked in the developments.<br>The only noise I've ever heard was from the dog in apartment above me running about or a dog barking in an adjacent apartment, but that is normal.<br>The staff is very friendly and helpful. If I had a drain clog or a problem with the garbage disposal, it was promptly fixed.<br>If you have a school age child, you'll find Woodstock Middle and High school is walking distance from the apartments, which was a great convenience for me and my daughter. <br>The clubhouse has two new computers that are useful. The pool is fun in the summer. Although, the workout room could stand to have more or more modern equipment. <br>I used to use the laundry facilities there but I found that they were not consistently all working properly. I noticed that there is no stealing. I mean, if you left a quarter in the laundry room, it will remain there, along with any forgotten clothing item. <br>It's funny that another poster was complaining about guys partying because I lived next to some college kids and there were another set of college kids upstairs to the right of my apartment. I NEVER HEARD THEM. They were not a bother to me. Only when they were outside on their patio did I even know they were having a party. I never found any bottles or God forbid, condoms. <br>Yes, sometimes the gates are broken, but I never had a problem with stolen property. I owned 2 cars that I often left unlocked and nothing was stolen from either of them, not even the gate card which was clearly visible.<br>Oh, if you live on the ground floor a critter my crawl in at night. A slug (uck) will slime in if it's damp out or one of those huge roach creatures (but not like the small roaches that inhabit apartments) may end up coming in if it's cold outside. <br>Also, if you are going to live there for more than a year, remind them to clean your carpet for you. I didn't know it was a service they offered until a neighbor mentioned it.<br>I think it's a great place and would recommend it to anyone.

Beuatiful Community
I must say this is a beautiful and well kept apartment community. From the friendly staff to the great maintenance team, The Avonlea has so much to offer. I would recommend anyone here. I must say I think the staff is by far the best! I have never had a problem getting anything done and no one has ever been rude or snotty to me. I will be happy to call Avonlea my home foe a very long time.

Some Good and Some Bad
I lived here for 2 years. The first year the people near me were so bad that the smell from their apartment came into mine! The people across from me used to get so drunk they would always try to come into my apartment at 3 in the morning. The office staff is constantly changing, though Kathy in the front office is very sweet, the rest of them are pretty snooty. You can almost never find parking near your building after 7 until 9 the next morning. My bestfriend had her car broken into and my boyfriend had someone attempt to break into his car, tho this can happen anywhere, just keep your doors locked and your stuff put away. There is an officer on site but that didn't do any good for the other group of guys who lived above me that never ever stopped partying and crowing like a rooster at 6 in the morning. Which you have in any apartment also, but the condoms they liked to throw off their balcony was a different story! <br><br>On a good note I never had a serious problem with maintenance. He was very nice and always fixed the problem. The grounds are kept very clean and it is mandatory to pick up after your pet. I am extremely terrified of bugs and all I had to do was call and they would spray for me. The gate was broken a fair amount but I guess thats what happens when people try to go through it. The residence are pretty friendly and vary in age. They aren't the cheapest apartments so it does weed out a lot. I actually recommended this apt to my sister! Bottom line is if you have a problem tell Kathy and she'll take care of it and she was always understanding with me. And the only reason I moved out is because I got a house.

A great place to call "home"
I just moved to the Woodstock area from Atlanta. I'm a teacher and love the area here. I picked Avonlea because of the wonderful staff and beautiful apartment. They went above and beyond for me and my family. I would recommend anyone here! This is more than I could ask for in a apartment home. Thank You!

Great Apartments!
Avonlea at Towne Lake is such a great apartment community. I have lived in the area for several years and recently retired and lost my husband. I decided I oculd not take care of my home alone and needed tomove. The staff at Avonlea has been beyond helpful! They helped me with my move and get settled in my new home. They also helped me meet new people here and make great friends. I can say this is a wonderful place to live and I have recommend anyone here. If oyu want a quiet, clean, and beautiful apartment community come to Avonlea and you will not be disapointed.

Avonlea at Towne Lake is one of the finest apartment communities in the area. I have lived here for 2 years and plan to stay for a long time. The office staff is wonderful and the maintenance is always right out to take care of any problems and there aren't many. Not to mention the community is always kept up. I would recommend anyone to move here.

ARGGHHH
My experience here was fair at best. The noise at times is unbearable, it takes forever to get a call back from management, maintenance takes 4-5 days to fix things. I really thought I was paying for more but, now I feel like I would have been better off elsewhere.<br>
