GREAT!!!!!!
This is by far the best place to live! It is above all the rest in the area. The office staff is wonderful and always willing to help. The management here is by far the best and I have lived in several apartments before this one. I would send recommend these apartments to people that want a clean, upscale enviroment. The grounds are always clean and maintenance fixes everything that needs to be done in a timely manner! Avonlea deserves a 150%!

so-so
Avonlea has been both good and bad. I probably would not come back as long as their prices are so high. The community is very nice and very pricey. After moving from out of state I found this place on the internet and was impressed. Now that I've been here for a year, I have seen similar communities within several miles where I can get more "bang for the buck" The staff seems to change often, the homes are very nice.

Gonna miss this place
I lived here for a year, and I must admit that it's probably the nicest apartment complex I've ever lived in. The carpeting and appliacnes aren't cheap crap like some of the places I've lived before, and it's mostly quiet and well-built. The apartment I lived in had lots of room and windows. The staffing was very nice and I never had any maintenance issues that I had to call about.

Sure, sometimes I can hear the neighbors stomp around but that just comes with apartment living. My only real complaints would be that I wish there was a bit more parking around my building, and that they'd enforce their policy of not having a dog that weighs more than 20 pounds. I've seen some HUGE dogs around here. But none of those issues were a huge deal.

I'm going to miss The Avonlea.

I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.
1. The girls who work here must all have a combined IQ of mustard.
2. Making a noise complaint (which is a huge problem every single day or night) is like talking to a wall. The Ringling Bros. Circus just moved in upstairs.
3. Breeding grounds for bugs. It's lovely.
4. Rude & extremely disrespectful neighbors all around.
5. They lie to your face to get you in here. Sure, the place LOOKS nice...but everything else is just really annoying.
6. The gates might as well be nonexistent because they never work & any idiot could just walk right in anyway.
7. I could go on forever, but I've got a complaint to make!

Not much good to say about this place
I lived here for 2 years - just moved out a few weeks ago. I am so glad to finally be gone. I loved the floor plan and rent wasn't too bad (never had an increase) compared to the apartment I lived in off of Powers Ferry previously. However, the main problem with this place is the turnover of management. In the 2 years I lived here, there were 4 different property managers. Not much gets accomplished when there is that much turnover. Also, maintenance was constantly changing. You never knew who or when anyone was going to be in your apartment. It's rather unfortunate that maintenance can't read the apartment numbers on the doors. I came home one day to see a note saying maintenance had been in my apartment to fix a leaky faucet. I never called in this request and after looking at the paper, I noticed that the request was for the apartment below mine!

One major thing that started after living here about a year and a half was the influx of college students. Prior to that, it was rather quiet, but recently that wasn't the case. Apparently they are getting desperate for renters and aren't screening them properly. When you have college students inhabiting most of your units, that means there are many, many drunk nights stumbling in late making lots of noise. This happened almost every weekend in my building. One particular occurrence was so bad, that the after hours security officer had to call the Cherokee County Sheriffs Dept for back up.

Perhaps if I was 10 years younger this place would appeal to me, but if you're looking for a nice, quiet place to live, don't choose Avonlea. I am so thankful to own my own home now. No more apartment living for me!

Great Place
I have lived in Avonlea for about 7 months now. I could not be happier. The staff is very nice and will do anything that they can to please you. For the people that said that teenagers will be unhappy because they rule with an iron fist, I am glad that they do because it makes everyone happy. They have never been rude or snobby. They do not discrimate agianst teenagers because I am a teenager and they have never said anything to me. They fix your maintence problems in no longer then 2 days. It is quiet and peacful. I could not be happier

HORRIBLE!!
I recommend that anyone who values the simple things in life (like peace and quiet, feeling of safety, fast response on maintenance, and gates that work) don't move here. You won't have any of that.

sick & tired
I am so tired of living here. The girls in the office are stuck up and rude. I cannot wait to leave. The apartment is nice and all, but I am sure I can find something as nice in Towne Lake more affordable and with people who care.I have called in a problem with my toilet for weeks. The maintenace guys are always leaving and you never know who is in your apartment, when they manage to come work on your problem.
I do not recommend. Go somewhere else if you want good customer service.

Neat Complex
I lived in the Avonlea from 2/2002 thru 3/2004.

I thought the complex was well maintained. The apartments in appearance and cleanliness was "above average". The pool is beautiful, like you would find at a resort.

I lived in the 7000 building, and it was very quiet almost the entire time...meaning, there was never more noise than the neighbors below having several arguments, but that is life.

To me it had a very "homey" feeling, and felt very safe, knowing that there were alarms in every home, and also sprinkler systems. There were also very large closets, and a big ceiling fan over the bedroom/bed area.

I would recommend the complex.

stay away from this place
I have lived there for several years, when I first moved in it was very quiet and clean, very upscale...however the last year has been awful with loud neighbors, teanagers running wild, wild parties and teanagers using my deck as a ladder to the appartment above. I lived under the tennants from hell, wild, drunken teenage parties, pounding on the floor and walls continously. Ive had food, water, dirt, tons of cigarette butts, even used condoms dumped onto my deck. loud music, stomping around and yelling at all hours of the day and night. We had a problem from the first day we moved in and complained frequently, management told me time and again how they would take care of it (which they never really did...I had to call the coutasy officer just last week)and that the neighbors where really nice people, they would send letters and call them but that was the extent of it. We finaly got sick of the noise anddecided to move out (2 months before the end of our lease) and they want to punish me to the tune of $1500. I was told yesterday that its the luck of the draw as to the neighighbors you get and that was life and that I could either finish out my lease (which would be cheeper than the penalty).

If you are thinking of renting here beware that if you have a problem you will most likely be on your own.

TERRIBLE would not recommend
Office staff ignores complaints from people they dislike and pamper certain residents. Noise not controled. The office staff too much into your business. SNOOPY people. Would not recommend.

An Iron Fist wTeenagers? How Soon May I Sign a Lease, PLEASE!?!
The last post COMPLAINED about the office having an IRON FIST w eenagers by not allowing them to hang out everywhere. I say, BRING ON THE IRON FIST!!! I am so sick and tired of your young´uns running around completely wild at my complex that I am literally moving bc of it. And where are their parents, certainly not with their bratty kids! I have seen your "teenagers" literally tear up basketball goals (at LEAST 5) by hanging off of them, spray and burn grafitti onto the buildings and sidewalks, and destroy tennis net after tennis net by sitting and swinging on them. You obviously don´t teach them how to clean up after themselves and so the pool area looks like a trash bin and finally, their language is God-Awful. Heaven forbid if you ask them to take it elsewhere bc then they tell their parents who then give YOU and attitude about chastising their "ANGELS." In the end, I get to pay for your little ANGELS via RENT INCREASES to cover all of the damages. So, THANK YOU for letting me know about the IRON FIST. I am on my way today to check these apts. out. To the manager of Avonlea, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!

Hated it. Management staff awful.
The management staff is highly discriminatory against teen-agers. They threatened mine, with no basis on many occasions, threatened and called the police to have him removed from a friend´s home he was visiting after we moved. There are no amenties for teenagers - the management did everthing they could to keep all who lived there out of the clubhouse, and ruled with an iron fist in the summer time while at the pool. If you have a teen - you know how miserable they can make you when they are miserable. I would not recommend living here with a teen.

It feels like home.
I´ve loved living here. It is the best complex in the Townelake area. The office staff and maintenance staff are great. The only noise is from kids playing and who can hate that! Thanks for 4 wonderful years.

I was very happy there.
I moved into the Avonlea when it was brand new and lived there almost three years. I only left to move closer into Atlanta for my job. It was really a great complex, wonderful staff, very clean and safe. I highly recommend.
