Dealing with electricity here in this community has been horrible. I along with other residents have felt ripped off and conned when it comes to Conservice you have your own power company on island and a place in Utah reading smart meters from there and then admitting there was a problem and meters had to be changed shows they had no business with that contract and they need to be investigated. Enjoyed the safety and security even though we had a few issues in the neighborhood it never really affected us.

    We are happy here because of the proximity to the beach. It feels safe and homey. Neighbors are nice. Other challenges have been present, not enough to leave the community. A bit pricey for the condition of the homes but our current home is satisfactory.

      I really enjoy living in this community and I feel safe and secured . I enjoy all the amenities this community provides for me. I also enjoy having access to the mini NEX. I also enjoy going to beach.

        Absolutely love the ocean beauty outside! Love the amenities! I love Dlish and that’s its open 6 days a week! Love the night market! I especially love the village life caring for my disabled mother! Everyone always helps me when I need help!

            This community has been ok for what we need in our life at this time. The living cost has been the only thing really keeping us here, as there isn’t many other options for what our family needs. However, there are a lot of issues, mostly maintenance, a lot are just cosmetics and tolerable but the time and effort to get any major maintenance concern addressed is overwhelming, & difficult to get addressed in a timely manner.

              Security here is a joke they do not handle resident and non residents as they should. They let anyone in especially if they are just walking into the community as opposed to driving. There are 3 lanes so it shouldn’t take 30 minutes for residents to get through the gates just to go home. There are too many feral chickens running around making a mess and nothing is done about it. Trash days are horrible! There are untouched bins that don’t get emptied even if put out when they’re supposed to. Entire streets go without being emptied. The trash men make more of a mess when emptying bins and they do not stop to clean up the mess they’ve made! Every trash day I am cleaning up what’s left in front of my carport or on my lawn. It’s ridiculous and I do it to avoid the fee the community charges! The paint on my walls are bubbling since the storm causing it to chip. I have missing packages that say delivered but even the postal workers can’t confirm what happened to them. There’s been multiple break ins, cars stolen, and gun shootings. The roads driving into the community are disgustingly unkept! Huge pot hole that continually damage people’s cars. I’ve had to change my windshield twice due to rocks flying from other vehicles. They NEED to work with the navy to have roads repaved. I would not recommend anyone to move here with the amount of rent we pay.

                My house got broken into a few things were missing it put me n set me back n stress n anxiety kicked in.i pray that this does not happen to anyone else now I have cameras on my property in my house as well to be sure n safe for my kids

                  Kapilina Beach Homes is a wonderful community to live in. We enjoy all the amenities and also hanging out down at the beach. Dlish has great food and drinks and we like the variety. The live music makes for a nice evening out without spending a lot of money. The shoppette is very convenient being so close.

                      Nice community in regards to most of the neighbors. The maintenance and staff are the worst part of living there because no one answers the phones and then they take weeks to schedule the actual maintenance visits and then they don’t actually resolve what is wrong they just put a band aid fix on it.

                        At times, it seems like I’m right in the middle of a chicken farm back in Carolina. It’s I understood that chickens are part of life here, however, it’s also factual that some roosters behave abnormally and when there are 10 or more gathered in a concentrated area, it presents sleepless nights. Management response is that I grew up here you live in Hawaii. You learned to get along with them. Considering the amount of rent paid, one hope for more consideration as opposed to passive responses. So if you don’t mind being awakened at 1 AM in the morning, again between 2 and 4 AM, and again at dawn, this is your place.

                            This place has become a slum. Whomever reviews the work orders is an idiot and cancels the jobs but doesn’t state why. Then the customer submits the same request and the idiot cancels again. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to think outside the box and call the customer to tell them why you keep canceling. Just aggravating that no one has common sense.

                                  This is not resort-style living. On my street alone there are multiple abandoned vehicles, a car left on jacks for weeks, yards and patios overflowing with trash, animals chained or improperly kept, repeated domestic disturbances spilling into the street, and individuals passed out in vehicles overnight from apparent drug use. These conditions are not isolated. They are routine, visible, and ongoing, which makes management’s lack of intervention indefensible. Resident screening, monitoring, and lease enforcement are clearly failing. This includes units participating in subsidized housing programs, where repeated violations of basic conduct, upkeep, and nuisance standards appear to go unaddressed. The issue is not subsidy participation itself, but the absence of consistent oversight and enforcement. The result is a visibly two-tier property. Conditions improve only closer to the beachfront units, while interior streets are neglected. This reflects management priorities, not coincidence. More concerning, government contractors and relocation coordinators are already advising incoming personnel not to live here due to safety concerns, poor upkeep, and lack of management control. This property has developed a negative reputation within professional relocation channels, a direct consequence of these conditions being allowed to persist. Advertising this community as “resort-style” under these circumstances is misleading at best and deceptive at worst. Management needs to physically walk the property, document violations, and enforce lease terms uniformly across all residents. Continued inaction degrades the community, damages the property’s reputation, and exposes management to serious liability.

                                    I love this environment, a spacious area. I heard that they used to rake up debris at the beach with a truck, but I haven't seen that in a long time. It would be nice if management could bring back the service to revive the clean beach area. I walk with my dog every day, and pick up trash. Still, I am disappointed by people's inconsiderate behaviour, not cleaning up after themselves, or feeding the stray cat on the paper plates and just leaving the plates everywhere.

                                          Break-ins on 104th Street were a concern. The grass was often left insanely tall for long periods before being mowed, and the electric bills were unexpectedly high. Aside from those issues, everything else was honestly great — amenities, layout, and overall experience were a solid 10/10.

                                            Excellent community for transplants. It’s what you want when you think of living in Hawaii, access to the beach, free entertainment, beautiful views, pool, spa, gym, and a good school. The staff are always friendly and do their best even with limited resources.

                                              The Kapilina maintenance workers are very friendly and proficient! They come and do their job in an efficient and quality manner!                                                 Safety concerns are not being addressed. We have coconut trees that are dropping directly on our driveway and we have submitted 3 request to have the tree cleared and each service request get closed with no corrective action. We are scared to park our vehicles there in fear of getting hit or our vehicles getting hit by fallen coconuts. All other trees in the immediate area have been cleared except this one.

                                                    A: It depends when you go, if it's traffic time about 45-60 minutes if it is not traffic time, it's good about 30 minutes. Morning traffic is crazy, you either have to go about 5 and take Kunia Road or wait until 8 after all the schools start otherwise it takes almost an hour.

                                                    A: 30 minutes or so, depending on the time of day and traffic at the gate. There are quite a few Army folks who live here who commute, do carpooling could even be an option.
