Just a beautiful well organized community which has excellent amenities. Also the employees on site are very friendly and welcoming. I would recommend KAPALINA to my family and friends. The beaches are very well kept and have a lot of play space for many Ohana to enjoy.

Beautiful grounds! Beautiful beach and pool! Clean, no trash! My Tia directly under the flight path and I can’t conduct my Zoom business meetings or watch tv or have a conversation 30% of the time beyond the plane’s flight path. I wish I would have known that about our particular location of our home. I would have chosen another location. While our maintenance persons have been very nice and helpful the fallow up on items to still be remedied has been lesser. Still unresolved maintenance issues. We do really like Kapilina very much!

Grounds are not up kept, dead lawn, houses termite damage. Maintenance take long and does sub par work. Aircraft fly overhead 24 hours a day. You pay for “resort style” living, which is expensive, but lawn conditions/upkeeps looks and feels like low income living. Not worth what you pay for. Not to mention ridiculously high utility bills.

I have lived in Kapilina Beach Homes since December of 2017 with my Husband and daughter. We love the amenities, accessibility to the beach, elementary school and our neighbors are beautiful people. I call Kapilina "Plumeria Pleasantville" because of all our beautiful plumeria trees, cute houses, and kind neighbors. My absolute favorite is our own backyard surf break that can get very epic in the right conditions.

Kapilina Beach Homes is the same base housing I stayed at 1973. The flooring is upgraded but the rest is the same. Other than the beach and pool, the area was better in 1973. The streets were not clogged with extra cars per home. Most residents had two cars that could be accommodated with the carport and driveway. Enforcing one side only parking would greatly improve the living experience today.

I was very excited to move in here, but after moving in, I’ve noticed little issues in the apartment and as I’ve stayed here, I’ve noticed more and more issues and when it comes to the maintenance, they come do whatever they do and say the work order is closed and nothing is fixed As of now that’s been my experience.

Patience and understanding is required to live in this community. I'd recommend living here if you're new to the island or staying short term (3-5 years). Personally my experience with the staff and maintenance has been excellent.

The grounds of this community are poorly maintained. Nighttime lighting is terrible and frankly, dangerous. There are many areas of the common areas that are too dark to walk at night even with a flashlight as the walking paths and sidewalks are in such disrepair. In our case, our backyard is unusable because the trees have been allowed to spread roots so far that there is no grass and large ruts in the ground camouflaged enough by weeds so as to be dangetous. We are not alone in this situation.

it has been amazing so far! We just started our lease and Shayna has been helpful this whole entire process and continues to be so helpful and amazing. Great area and such nice people. Great experience so far.

Love the community but we desperately need city transportation to help get the kids to school and our kupuna to their appts. I walk in from the last bus stop, 3 very dangerous and hazardous. In addition, do away with the security gate, have them patrol the neighborhood instead and chase the riff raff away

Amenities are often closed and notification not sent to tenants, grass not maintained, there is always an excuse for things not taken care off. The one thing I like is that I'm 5minutes away from beach.

The worse place it’s like a getup and cops even said it the police are there every day management fixes nothing and they still car destroyed r Retaliation from staff and the stealing on private property is worse then Waikiki. Dirt gyms grass filled with poop. Charge you for insurance that you don’t need and does not cover anything but when you get you own they still charge you. Never fix anything don’t cut grass wake you up at 530 driving through your yard leave garbage in your yard and front of house smoke and play loud music when they are working . Use my water don’t fix anything and if you report them that retaliate against you and come into your place when your not home

It’s nice place, great location, BUT like I said in my comment above. The electric is way too high n I’m not sure what you can do to bring the cost of electricity down. Safety is becoming an issue here in Kapilina. Just last week cops were all over looking for somebody and I was told by security few days later they still looking for this individual and few weeks before two people were robbing one of the residents, one got caught the other got away. Safety is my number one concern here in Kapilina beside high electric bill

Me and my family have lived here for three years now, and it is one of the greatest spots to live here on Honolulu. The community is bright, neighbors are great and for the most part, living here has been stress free. This is a wonderful place to live.

The maintenance team were very efficient! The work was completed within 48 hours! They did a great job. From start to finish the process only took 48 hours for everything on the work order to be completed by the maintenance team.

Fabulous amenities and many fun events! Pool and hot tub. Pet friendly with 2 dog parks. Keiki friendly with a keiki pool, splash pads and play grounds. D’lish restaurant on the beach. Walking paths around the lagoon and along the beach.

The service provided has been nothing short of terrible. The units aren’t maintained and the maintenance done is sub standard quality. Not the acceptable level for a private community and changes need to be made

Enforcement of standard and Noise levels from the D'lish. D'lish is the reason for the issues at the gate. Plus, RF sensor not being affixed to the vehicle. Have those vehicles access removed from not following the rules Turn off the RF sensor

------ got that hood type vibe. Feels like we keeping criminals in instead of out. Ever since accepting section 8 it’s become a trashy place. Maintenance has improved. Website bill payment can improve and more detailed.

There are alot of animals ie chicken's, cats and sometimes dogs running free around the flats. The chicken's are really noisy and so are the air planes. The cats get hair on all outside furniture you have and some dogs are scary. Other than that I love it here.

Would not recommend. Buildings are old with lots of cracks and gaps for bugs and mosquitoes to get in. Centipedes, roaches, geckos, ants, etc are a daily occurrence. Tons of noise from the airport and military base which makes it difficult for keiki to nap. Good amenities, nice pool area, and night market and events are some positives.

Overall Kapilina management does very well but the property owners need to step it up and get rid of these old appliances. Every whole in the ceilings and boiler room and closets need to be sealed to minimize bugs and geckos from laying eggs. The courts could do without the music as it has profanity and sometimes the players are using profanity. The music awakens stay home mothers who are home with toddlers and babies need to be able to rest and not hear basketballs and tennis balls before 9:00 on weekdays and 8:00 on weekends. These things disturb resident households watching tv, listening to music, napping kids… as well as the music compels the younger kids to profanity. The feral cats should be removed for health reasons and not kept around as a means to control mice. Maybe more mouse hotels for the neighbors who have them.

The proximity to the beach is great. D'Lish is great. The units? Not so great. We've had significant maintenance issues go neglected for years, even after repeatedly bringing them up with management. Could you find worse? Probably. Could you find better? Probably.

Staff is great and security has improved. Just need upgrade in a lot of areas. The upgrades that has been done is nice but some areas such as plumbing for me is way behind. Also I have very old interior kitchen and it is begun wear and tear. However I do see the effort and like it overall.

Noise has increased with some all night activities (wrenching on cars/drinking/or stakeout to catch thieves) Grounds have become increasingly worse with more vandalism to the parks and daily bulk trash dumped ( Kapilina does there best to keep up, but are outnumbered by disrespectful residents). Safety with the vandalism and bullying at the parks, even if your child is with their mothers some kids no care and make it not enjoyable to use the parks Neighborhood no car no transportation, bring back the city bus. Maintenance only a 4 due to not enough of them to keep up and Kapilina seems use a lot of parts that are not stocked on island Staff high turn over I couldn't tell you who my manager is now, there for constant change at front desk. In the end I like the Neighborhood, although it has drawn to many disrespectful residents to it causing higher than used to be crimes and residents not reporting it to HPD so no HPD presence due to no report that it happened. Neighborhood watch is nothing more than a ----- about and pick up trash.
