Beautiful Place & Awesome Staff
This is the best place I have ever rented. The Office Staff is wonderful and should be complimented on a job well done. Their friendly attitude just brightens your day. The Maintenance Staff is definitely hard working and friendly, too. My 2-Bedroom spacious apartment is awesome, with high ceilings, beautiful kitchen appliances, attached garage, washer & dryer, etc. Each apartment is hardwired with smoke alarms and a sprinkler system which gives you peace of mind. The whole apartment complex is well lit at night for safety & security. I use the Exercise facility 4-5 times a week and it has a full array of equipment to use. The indoor Basketball court and outdoor Pool are awesome and well kept. They also have a Cafe that is definitely a nice place to meet friends and have a cup of java or relax. The little shin-digs that the Staff throws are Great !!! They provide games, free food & free drinks so that we can get to know our neighbors. I've never lived at a place that takes so much pride in their community. This Apartment Community is near anything you can think of; Banks, shopping, groceries, bars, restaurants, bowling and more. I initially signed a 15-month lease and am now getting ready to sign another 15-month extension. I just luv this place and would recommend it to everyone.

Nice until recently....
We just renewed our lease and are VERY concerned. The management staff in the leasing office has recently changed and things have gone downhill quickly!!! We seem to have a lot of "riff/raff" going on that never would have been tolerated in the past year. Dog poop not being picked up - doggie bags not being filled - holes in several of the doggie bags provided - cheap! The cafe standards have went down hill - coffee / tea - cheap - internet constantly down! We enjoy the pool but this has not been a great start. People using the pool that are not residents taking up space for PAYING renters - crowded - loud obscene music with graphic language being played. Inappropriate swimwear - Thongs and I do not mean the shoes! There are many families that live here with small children and this is not the environment we want to have our children around. Carpet is cheap - it was not great when we moved in a year ago and now it's even worse. Our carpet should have been replaced when we re-signed our new lease! We asked but were told - sure if you want to pay for it. Really? We have never had an issues with noise could never hear our neighbors but now we have teenagers running up and down the stairs at all hours of the night. We even had an issue recently of domestic violence and the cops were called! It's still an on-going issue. They need to do a better job with screening prospective tenants. Not sure, what went wrong but my guess is - change in management and turn over in staff! Let me also add the community parties and events they provide have been a wonderful way to meet and socialize with your neighbors and they have been great. Deb and Jade were always conscience to the fact many kids/families attended. They made certain there were juice boxes, soft drinks - always so nice. However, the last event - no ice - water and beer only. I'm hoping JC Hart reads this and does something about the current staff at Legacy. This is a wonderful place to live - however we need the "JC HART" standards back!

Great Apartment!
My husband and I have lived in our apartment for a year now. We absolutely love it here and are so sad that we are moving in a few months. The amenities are wonderful and the staff is very helpful. Whenever we have a maintenance issue they are quick to respond. Events and parties are thrown often by the staff and it is a great way to meet your neighbors. We have never lived in a complex where they take such good care of their residence. Our apartment is so quiet and I very rarely hear our neighbors. We brought our daughter home from the hospital to this apartment; she was a colicky baby and constantly cried. Our neighbors around us didn t even know we had her because they didn t hear a crying baby.

Definitley not prestige, more like run of the mill
I have lived here for awhile and my opinion just keeps getting worse on this complex. At first the newer decor and amenities seemed to justify the higher rent price. When the pool is open it is always enjoyable, but once winter hits and you are inside more, and you notice the poor quality of the buildings. The paint on the wall will show every scratch, I have to touch-up my walls at least once a month. The walls are all really thin and there is extremely hard water. The dog park is mostly dirt, and in fact they just posted a sign saying it is closed for 2 weeks with no notice. They have a fine for not picking up after your pets, yet they never restock the bags in the dog park. In the last 2 months there have been 4 weekends where there were no bags from Friday - Monday. I wouldn't really mind all the little annoying things about living here if the leasing staff was at least helpful. They don't communicate with each other which results in a lot of confusion when trying to resolve any issues with them. My husband has told me not to deal with them and leave it to him because they are so incompetent. They seem to lie just to sell people on renting. I was told I was the first person to live in my unit, yet there are patched up nail holes and other signs of people being here before me. I was also told that there was a long wait for a different floorplan I was interested in, yet a month and a half after I moved in someone got that floorplan without being on the waiting list. The worst part is how when you are due to renew the price they give you is higher then what they have your exact same floorplan advertised for on craigslist. The one thing I will praise is the maintenance staff. They are always friendly, and will come quickly for all issues. I have met a lot of good neighbors here who all have the same issues and are all hoping to leave soon as well. Overall a lack of quality and poor costumer service has made this a place I can't wait to forget!

Love my apartment!!
I am currently renting the Emerald floor plan. It is a 1 bedroom floor plan with 12 ft ceilings on the backside of the building. There are garages beneath me and no one above me (or below me). You have to get through three doors to reach me and there are firewalls. I feel extremely safe and secure. On top of the fact that there aren't dog breed restrictions here! I love the comfortable and luxurious feel of living here and even better it is totally affordable! I was baffled by the value comparison of legacy to other apartments in the area and how comparable the prices were. I read a review regarding the construction of the apartments being cheap. I noticed one minor problem with the flooring and they came to fix it immediately. I haven't experienced any other problems. I'm moving into a house, but it is a little bittersweet to have to leave my apartment because this is the first place I have lived that I actually haven't had a bad thing to say. There are free zumba, pilates, and circuit classes offered by a trainer that is a resident here and she is very knowledgeable and awesome!! The leasing officers and staff are very friendly! They're your friendly neighbors and the furthest thing from an intrusive landlord! I don't know what more you could ask for out of an apartment!! Close to everything!!

Okay but cheap construction
The carpets are terrible and the paint is unbelievably bad. It wipes right off the walls! There is dog poop everywhere. But the people are nice and it feels safe and quiet. The windows and doors are quite drafty.

Enjoyed living here
I obviously cannot speak for everyone, but I've enjoyed living in these apartments. No apartment complex is perfect by any means, but I have few complaints with the apartment itself. As previously stated, the buildings were thrown together and are not perfect, but I have seen worse in the same price range. I was the first one to live in my apartment. Normally I clean from top to bottom before moving in my furniture, but very little cleaning was necessary here. (yes, even in a brand new home, it can be very dirty, but this was not.) I was very impressed! The staff has always been friendly and our few maintenance requests have been addressed very quickly. I live on the third floor in an end unit and have never had any noise issues. I had a neighbor move in and I didn't know anyone was there for a couple weeks. I feel safe walking my dog, by myself, late at night or early in the morning. Because so many other people in the community have dogs, there are few times when I'm the only one outside. That being said, because the community is dog-friendly, there can be dog poop that hasn't been picked up and some days are worse than others. And as someone else mentioned, there are people who don't really take care of their dogs and let them bark from the time they leave until they get home. Overall, I've been very happy living here and, for me, it's been worth the money. Yes, the apartments are expensive, but when my lease was up and I renewed, my rent did not increase.

Do you like constant barking and dog poop?
As I am writing this review, I have the TV turned all the way up in a futile attempt to drown out the CONSTANT barking of my neighbor's dog. All day long, whining and howling and barking from this poor dog, who clearly does not belong in an apartment. Very few residents clean up after their dogs here. There is a young couple who live on the third floor of my building with a white dog with red/brown markings who NEVER clean up after their dog. There are a few residents who I always see cleaning up after their dogs though and they should be given credit. But they are the minority. Also, some people who live on the ground floor have their dogs tied to stakes in the ground, which means that the dog thinks that it is his yard and LURCHES at you growling when you walk by. And yes, the owner is inside. They just hook the dog up to the stake and go back in, leaving the dog unsupervised. As in the previous review, the quality of these apartments is not worth the money. The carpet doesn't quite reach the edges of each wall, the paint is terrible, and the appliances are so cheap. The dishwasher doesn't clean even a coffee cup so you might as well just wash everything by hand. Maintenance seems to be not the brightest lightbulbs and often several attempts have to be made before a simple problem is fixed. I would go somewhere else if I were you!!!!

Pretty not practical
These apartments look nice at first glance. Details show the poor craftsmanship. These pretty apartments were slapped together poorly and quickly like so many mass produced homes. Nails poke through trim. Paint shows every rub. Appliances are loud and make noises I've never heard modern appliances make. Maintenance had to be called several times during my year long stay for items that shouldn't have needed repair in any building so young. Blinds are of the $3 variety. Be prepared to provide your own proper window covering. The carpets are horrible. I didn't know they made carpet this cheap. Let's talk noise. Odd I could hear my neighbors speak in rooms where we both clearly had wood floors. I could hear their washer/dryer, toliet flush and bath drain. Luckily I never heard noises like snoring or televisions. The typical heavy walking from above and occassional vacuum. Probably the most annoying was the people coming in and out the main doors which seemed to rattle every apartment door and window. What I consider the worst part is how environmentally unfriendly this community is. The windows are like gauze. My air-conditioning and heating bills rivaled that of my house four times the size of my apartment. I could feel the cold air pouring in all winter long. I called the office and noted my concern but nothing was done and it seemed to be the norm. A brief look at the exterior air conditioner shows they are one of the worst environmentally friendly models. That explains those bills. The trash compactor has an area for recyclables but it's a few containers. Not nearly enough for the community this size and therefore much of those items are thrown directly in the trash. Community maintenance is outstanding. Community areas are consistently clean. I can say I have never seen a stray piece of trash - ever. The streets are cleared of snow as soon as possible in the winter. The sidewalks are always clear of snow, leaves, dirt, etc. The pool and hot tub are spotless. The gym is perfect. When you call with a maintenance concern it is taken care of immediately. Most importantly, my family and I feel safe. There are codes for building doors. Card passes or codes for community areas. Parking feels safe but could be a bit better lit. People seem to be out walking with family and their dogs or on patios/porches. I see Carmel PD patroling and occasionally Hamilton County Sheriff's Department. As my lease nears its end and my job prepares to transfer yet again I'm curious to how my exit will be. This company is known for trying to "nickel and dime" it's tenants. I'll be reporting back with details. I'm recommending these but really, only if you have the option to get a NEW unit AND if money isn't an issue. The price of rent, insurance and utilities cost me more than my house.
