The District is a great place to live. Haven't had to many issues with things in the apartment but when i have, maintenance staff has been helpful and punctual. Deb, Miranda and Nicole(the leasing staff) have all went above and beyond my needs for the apartment living, even asked what else they could do to make the stay more enjoyable! Very pleased with the community, staff and the location! Thank you District

My experience at The District has been very good. The office staff is pleasant. I cannot speak about the maintenance staff as I have not had any issues but in passing they seem to be pleasant as well. The parking is abundant. The noise level is about what you'd expect at any apartment, I've had no issues with noise. You cannot beat the location. Overall I would say I am quite satisfied.

This place really isn't worth your time or money. The construction of the buildings is shoddy. My windows leak terribly & I see I'm not alone on this complaint. Noise levels are ridiculous especially when you have neighbors who don't care to show any respect for others in regards to this. Other tenants store garbage in the hallways & on their balconies. It's unsanitary & stinks. Just like the other complaints you see on here...the manager truly is a rude dishonest hag. You wonder why she is still around but then you realize that JC Hart doesn't care how she does things as long as people are getting ripped off of their hard earned money. It's really quite sad. I called into the office one time & also spoke to some man who acted just as moronic as the manager does. Never spoke to anybody in there who acted respectful or even polite about anything. I see there are a multitude of other complaints on here as well as other sites so nobody is alone who has ever been stuck in this dump. It truly is a shame. Don't waste your money here.

Quite place to live, I've read the other reviews and have not experienced similar problems. I'm not too fond of carrying 10 bags of groceries up 3 flights of stairs but that's just a minor setback. Parking is not layed out correctly, in the evening times especially after 8pm I've found myself parking a couple buildings down the street. That would be my only real complaint. The maintenance staff have corrected a few minor issues I've had in a timely manner. The office staff has change a lot, ------- always took care/and answered my questions. At least ------ is still around! Overall I'm pleased with my stay at Saxony apartments.

This place is awful. Noise levels are completely unacceptable. The construction of the buildings is shoddy at best. All of the windows in my apartment leak terribly & it gets so cold in here. It also racks up the electric bill when running the heat since it all goes right out the windows. The leaking also causes moisture to buid up on the inside of the windows to the point that it just runs down the glass & leaves a puddle. In turn, mold & mildew have formed at the base of all my windows. I clean it up & it is back by the next day due to the continual leaking. Definitely not a good thing for someone who may be allergy or asthma prone. I contacted the idiot manager in the office & was told that there could only be mold in the apartment if I wasn't cleaning properly. I clean at least once a week if not even more often & what in the heck do leaking wet windows have anything to do with cleaning skills?! Also, as I already stated, I have cleaned that mess around the windows multiple times & it just keeps coming back due to the leaks. You can also always find garbage strewn about the interior of the building & the hallways always look terrible because they never do anything to keep them looking decent or even clean them once in awhile. I was also told that there were certain dog breed restrictions when I moved into this dump. However, I have seen several of those same dog breeds all around this complex. The office staff here is awful too. The best they can do is rudely give you a bunch of lame excuses for all of the things that are wrong with this place but then refuse to make it any better or fix it. If you ask to be let out of your lease, then they stick you with a hefty fee to leave. It's an awful way for them & JC Hart to run the business but they don't care. It actually seems that they are quite proud of their dishonest business practices. Don't waste your time or money here. Find a place where the staff actually care, the apartments are built properly, & where you can actually enjoy living there!

I love living in the complex! There are a couple issues though. First, the upkeep of the grounds, partly due to sloppy neighbors not picking up after their pets. I have a dog, and know certain grassy areas to avoid because they are almost certainly going to have little messes left from other pets. The groundskeeper should keep up on all areas of the apartment complex and not just the areas where the pet stations are located. The other issue, and mainly the most irritating, is the noise. I've been blessed with reasonably quiet neighbors, but I can still hear more than what I would like to hear. The construction of the buildings is a large reason why noise is such an issue. For instance, my kitchen is on the same wall as my neighbor's kitchen and I can hear it every time they shut a cabinet, my dog didn't like that, but he's gotten used to it and has refrained from barking as much. Otherwise, I should have opted to live on the 3rd floor since I can hear my neighbor above me every morning. Being that I'm a light sleeper, my schedule has not formed to when he gets up at 6AM every morning, it sounds like he's stomping around up there most days. Lastly, a major issue is the stairwell. I can hear every time someone is walking up or down the stairs and any time they open a door on the same floor as I, it even rattles my door a bit, which I've heard as an issue many of the tenants have. The building could have been better constructed to reduce the noise, this is something they definitely cut corners on when building the complex and is the biggest downfall of living there, if I were to move, that would be the reason. So far the insulation is very good and my bills are not insanely high for the times I've had to turn on the heat. I really do love the apartment though, and my dog and I are adjusting to the noise level, but I can't imagine how miserable it would be with noisy neighbors.

We have not been in here...
We have not been in here long & have had multiple issues with excessively noisy neighbors. For example, we have one directly below us who likes to go out on the weekends, get obliterated on alcohol, then come home & blare his music so loudly that it literally feels like our apt is shaking. The last time this occurred it went on for four hours. A police officer was even called out. He could see the guy passed out inside his apt in the midst of the blaring music & could not even rouse him to get up & shut it off. A police report was sent to the office. We too were informed that this neighbor also has prior reports & complaints, yet he is still able to stick around. We also have newer tenants directly above us who have continually been excessively noisy again to the point where our apt feels like it is literally shaking. This too goes on late at night into the early morning hours. We have already had to complain several times to the office because here again we are tired of losing sleep. It is several weeks later & the latest we heard from the office about this was basically the tenant disagrees that they are being excessively noisy & that we could probably be transferred to a 3rd floor apt which is the highest floor in the buildings. I'm sorry but why should we have to go through the hassle of moving all of our belongings to another apt when we are not the ones creating the issues or violating our least terms. We are also unable to move to the 3rd floor anyway as we have a very old dog who is unable to manage that many steps all of the time which the office staff was already aware of. We are in the process of deciding our next steps at this point. We may even get an atty involved as we do not want to be stuck here any longer than we have to be since it seems that the issues are not going to get resolved. The bottom line is that if you do not want to chance ending up with inconsiderate disruptive neighbors like ours then I would not advise you to move here. You will pay a lot of money to live here & should you end up in a situation like ours, then you will sorely regret spending all of it not to mention losing a lot of sleep. The units themselves are decent enough, but it just seems that there are too many inconsiderate tenants moving in & nothing is being done about them. In regards to the office staff themselves, they have never been rude or unfriendly to us in regards to these issues, but on the other side of the coin, the issues still continue.

I like most everything...
I like most everything that the place has to offer very much. The management is very attentive to complaints and issues. We pay way too much in water bills, prehaps its the amount of water that is wasted on the parking lot instead of the grass which is still brown in large areas. They will not enforce speeding/running stop signs running but for some reason will fine people $25 for not scooping after pets. Perhaps if a pet is run over, that may change things.

Love the apartments!...
Love the apartments! I have a great unit, lots of room, and great finishings. The staff is very helpful and sweet, always saying hello when I see them after hours. I love the location, I can easily get to just about anywhere, but do not have to deal with traffic on a regular basis. Did I mention they have no breed restrictions or weight limit for dogs? Just another plus!

Very nice complex with...
Very nice complex with nearby shopping and nice suburban living. Very kid and pet friendly with ample parking. Nice walk around the lake with bike lanes on the main road. Easy access to the interstate. Staff is very nice and friendly and maintenance staff are timely and fix things right the first time. Great place if you're looking to move from the "urban jungle".

If you don't like pets,...
If you don't like pets, don't move in here. Even if you don't have any yourself. I have two dogs that are my whole world, but some people don't think the same way and this is a VERY pet-friendly community. Other than that, I'd recommend this community to anyone!

I can't believe the terrible reviews i have heard. I have lived here over a year and a half and I love it here! I feel the staff is wonderful. I have had some very minor issues with a couple of appliances, but the maintence staff is ALWAYS quick to respond and have fixed all of the issues by bringing in the appliance repair men. They usually come out the next day or at one point it was 2 days, but it was not an emergency. We had issues with people speeding through the complex, but they addressed this and put in stop signs at the intersections. Although they did this, there are still people that speed, so I am not sure what will be done about that. Maybe put up speed bumps next? There are kids that play around the complexes and I get nervous when people just speed in the complex. I noticed that a few people have left their trash on the patios for like a day, and the management has sent out several notices, so the management is aware and doing something about it. It certainly not disgusting as the other reviews say here. I am sure the next step would be fining people. As for the the issue with people picking up the dog poop, this has been cleaned up pretty well, people are now being fined $25 if a neighbor sees them not picking up the poop. The pool is awesome! There was a issue where people were having too many guests, but the complex has a pool monitor during the summer and people have to sign in now. The landscapers clean off my patio of all the mulch when they cut the grass and trim the bushes, so I don't have to sweep the patio, which is nice. In the winter, they clean off the snow/ice on walkways and in the complex early in the morning if it had snowed overnight. The staff is wonderful, never have an issue! They have little get togethers, it is nice to have. The walkways around the little lake/pond is so nice, my family and I love to take walks around the lake. Having Saxony beach right here this summer was awesome! I can't wait until they start building places to eat and other busineses nearby. Also the farmers market and other events right down the street at the saxony area is so great. Just went to the Octoberfest and soon the Renisance fair will be there. Summer Movie nights on the lawn are great too. The club house is awesome and I have had little family gatherings there and used the grill and pool table, the kitchen, the wii and the shuffle board table. The indoor basketball court is awesome, I haven't used the gym are yet, but it is awesome to have right there! I have used the business area several times, if I need to get away and use the computer and/or print something. Honesty, I have NEVER seen a policeman here, other than the one that lives here. There was a couple of nights where the fire dept/ambulance came, but we know there is someone with medical issues in the building. I feel VERY safe here, and have no issues with lighting/or safety. It is a little expensive, but it's worth it to keep the place looking nice. I highly recommend this apartment complex to anyone!

Poor managment
I have been a resident at the District for a year now and have noticed the lack of responsibility from managment for their mistakes. For starters, the first week I moved in, they were paving the parking lot and had designated areas to park (which I had done so) unknown to me the company had not completed their job the day before and were still finishing a certain area where we were told to park...they towed my car several buildings away...I had an interview that morning and woke up to no car!! When I called the office, the staff had no idea where the cars were! An hour later my car was found. I have also complained numerous (more than 10 times this year)times about the lack of air conditioning in the gym. The gym usually ranges about 80 degrees, an unacceptable enviroment to work out in. I would email the manager, who always stated the problem was fixed and it never was!! I renewed my contract and asked if the maintance staff would be able to touch up some paint spots in the apartment(they used a dual paint that marks up easily and always looks dirty), the office staff stated they could give me some touch up to do it myself!! I find that incrediably rude since they would have done touch ups for the next resident moving in. Why should I have to spend extra money on paint brushes and such when they already have the equipment?!? Not to mention the paint they gave me looks to be a shade darker than the first coat!! We moved to the District because we loved the modern interior and beautiful grounds but have had our expectations let done since by the management and staff and their lack to correct problems. :( JC Hart has beautiful apartment complexes and I would highly consider another one of their locations such as; Legacy and Town or One One Six.

Not too shabby
Office staff is great, nice place to live. My only complaint would be about the parking lots (they do a TERRIBLE job at plowing/putting salt down) and the lazy pet owners that live in here don't pick up after their dogs. The District supplies the "poop bags" and plenty of them..The renters are just too lazy to walk their pet AND clean up after them. I love, love, love the gym! They pool is great! I would HIGHLY recommend living here I do wish they had tanning beds ;-)
