The maintenance crew is spectacular in every regard. Any time I have had a minor issue, someone has been in contact with me within a couple hours and the request is serviced that same day. For instance, I put in a request to fix the track on my screen door in the morning, and by the time I got home from work that afternoon I had a new screen door.

Not a bad community I just feel we get ignored in the back sometimes, always last to have walks shoveled, Terrible mud,& water drainage problem due to run off, improper drainage. I wish management would come back when we have this problem, so maybe something could get resolved

We have currently lived here for 6 months and have had 7 maintenance requests. The woman in charge explained to me that this is common for apartment living??? (Unlike the woman directly under her who had concern about my situation and did not quote similar rehearsed responses to every issue I explained calmly to her) I had never seen water flowing out walls and in 6 months time, it has happened 3 times. I would like to think my experience is unique but I was assured multiple times that this is normal for apartment living!!! Our tenants in our home we rent where we previously lived had a small issue one time and we took money off that month's rent. Here, they offer $400 to refer a future renter but refused any compensation for our issues. Luckily, we only had our winter gear saturated with dirty water. After washing and drying, I only had to discard some items. I believe that a reputable company makes things right and expresses genuine concern for having a 5am alarm going off, gushing water at freezing temps, fear at considering evacuating with young children in loft area, and countless hours of maintenance staff (although friendly and professional) needing to be inside the home for repairs. Again, I was told that their timely response was the only obligation the complex held because these are normal things that happen:) 2 of the maintenance issues we were at fault for (clogging toilet and sink) but 5 consisted of the following: 1-busted pipe with downstairs flooding 2-garage door broke and we were told our belongings being unsecured all night was not considered an emergency and it would be addressed sometime the following day 3- upstairs toilet seal faulty causing leaking through downstairs ceiling 4- toilet issue not resolved causing a second leak in downstairs ceiling 5- cheaper end dryer requiring couple hour drying cycle fixed to be slightly better (complex has not replaced appliances in an awfully long time or chose low end models for replacement)

I stayed at this apartment complex and must say I am impressed with the attitudes and customer service that I received. Managementand maintenance fixed all issues, I had and assisted me in every way they could has I exited the apartment complex. I was completely satisfied with all services rendered to me, in particular the Manager of this complex was easy to talk to and really took time to hear my issues and concerns with my unit. I fully recommend this apartment complex over all I have seen so far in my experience. I would pick this complex 10/10 times to stay as needed. great job to the Manager and staff at Windsor Oaks.

I have been a resident of Windsor Oaks since 2004. I have been a member of the real estate industry for more then 30 years in both residential and commercial fields. I would like to compliment Kelli Durkis and her entire staff for efforts they have put into the look and the upkeep of this property. This property has the appearance that is not seen in many areas unless you are paying high dollars. The maintenance crew is top notch in their response to the needs of the people that call Windor Oaks home. The office staff has always treated me with respect and have responded to any requests that I have had in a professional and timel manner. Kelli is a true professional and I have worked with some great managers. I would put Kelli there with the best and it is pleasure to be in a community in which Kelli is a part

Their management is very poor and will change policy on a whim or if you offend them in anyway. They allow non residents to use their pool or other facilities while not allowing resident's guests not to use them. They are clearly discrimantory in their practices. It would be good to avoid this complex.

I lived at Windsor oaks for 8 yrs. I would be still a tenent if I didn't have to transfer due to work. I rated everything at 5 because I never had a problem except the normal things that get older, like a dryer or a light higher up that burned out. I can honestly say that I will miss this complex and their workers. The rent was very reasonable, and the people in general were very outgoing for the apartment living. Due to work I really didn't enjoy the pool/billards room/biz center as much as I liked, but when I went up I felt like I was at a Hampton inn. They have garages for rent which I did have one for the time there. Garages are very large, enough room for extra storage/ tools and my 4/4 truck. Another thing I liked was the trash bin was in the middle of the complex and walled in, so no multi bins with stinky/ugly looking bins all around. The area was outstanding with 6 grocery stores within a couple miles, tons of others stores, and about 40 stores from banks to restarants within 6 blocks but no traffic. The grounds are away in a setting from the world, so you feel/hear no noise. Nice to just sit outside on the porch and take in the pond view and read a book. I hope this be help to someone since I just moved and read a review from this website for myself.

I moved in windsor oak apart. in aug of 2009 thinking it would be a place for me and my family. we had problems from the start,we also thought it would be more effeicient as far as electric and gas. we were wrong, our electric bill still ran around 300.00 dollars or more, we had frost inside to of the two bed rooms we used the fire place on occasion which still didn't heat it enough, you would think as much rent as you pay there they would be more effecient, we also had 3 kids there two of which were there full time. the carpet was just cheap non scotch guarded carpet, that was hard to get some stains out, windsor oaks also has a reputation for suing you when you decide to move out if there are any stains on carpet from pets or kids or high traffic areas even though carpet life is typicallly 3 to 5 yrs and less if you have kids and or pets. any body moving in to these apart it's best to write everything you see wrong they will try and get you for stuffthat you didn't even do so wrting everything down and taking pictures of everything doors windows cabinetry everything is very wise

Quiet Apartment, Great Staff
I have lived in many apartments, and these are by far the most quiet. I could only hear the upstairs neighbors when they where on the stairs. Most apartments I've lived in I could hear lots of stomping. The area was a park like setting. We faced the woods. Some apartments faced a lake or a horse farm. Most views where nice. The staff was friendly, caring, and fast. Most problems got fixed the day they were reported. Everyone was helpful, even about moving out. And they had lots of parties for to make it feel like a community. Rent was high, but worth it. It also included water We had to move across the state, but if I were to move to Fort Wayne again, I would move back to Windsor Oaks!

New to the area
My boyfriend and I had never been to fort Wayne before he was offered his job here, so we were nerous about whether we would like it. Windsor oaks is in a perfect location! The property is well kept, the apartments are big and luxurious. Even the cost is fair. Management was very helpful in helping us move in as well! We like it here so far! The only thing that is a little bit of a stick in the mud is that there is only one dumpster for the entire complex. It helps make the property nice looking, but it is a pain to have to bring your trash in the car with you every few days bc you live 3 blocks from the only dumpster. Ido think that trash shouldn't cost $ if it's so inconvienient for the residents. However, from a 1-10 I would rate Windsor Oaks a 9.5! Very lovely apartment complex.

HAPPY RENTER
We came to Windsor Oaks as a second home as we made our lake home our permanent residence. We are not here a lot, but everything has been fixed immediately upon asking. We can hear the upstairs tenant, parking can be a little snug, but the soundness of the apartment and the utilities make this a wonderful place to live. I have been surprised that you have to move out of your current location to get a "special" that is available to new move-ins. That seems insane if you are going to renew your lease. After being here a year, I asked to have the carpet cleaned -- only if we renew the lease. That seemed strange to me also. I guess there has to be a system, but you hate to lose people who are reliable in paying their rent. Overall, great place to live. The two-bedrooms are beautiful.

So far so good!
I've been living at Windsor oaks apts for almost 2 years now and am very happy to call this home. When it comes to beautiful landscaping, helpful staff and wonderful amenities in fort Wayne Windsor oaks is the place to live. Vaulted ceilings and wood burning fireplaces are a few of my favorites.

Windsor Oaks is the BEST Apartment Living. I LOVE it here. It's safe, clean, near shopping, eating, the highway, perfect living for me and my granddaughter. The Staff is Amazing, professional, courteous, and always accommodating. I love the area of the complex where we live, our neighbors are friendly, we look out for one another. I would love continue living here with a lock-in rent amount versus it being raised at the end of the lease each year. Other than that, it's the PERFECT Place to live for apartment living. An awesome community, accommodations for out of town guests that are affordable. I highly recommend Windsor Oaks Apartments.

Absolutely awesome!
This is our 2nd time living at Windsor Oaks (in between building houses) and we absolutely wouldn't live anywhere else but here. The apartments are very well laid out and clean, the office staff are absolutely the BEST office staff anywhere, and the amenities are perfect. It is quiet and our neighbors are very friendly. We feel very safe here. Truly one of the best apartment complexes in Fort Wayne if not THE best!

windsor oaks apartments
We absolutely love our apartment at Windsor Oaks. We have lived here for 15 months and have resigned our lease. The maintenance staff are very friendly and always fix any problems ASAP. We also have no problems with the front office staff. They are always very willing to answer questions and help in any way. The apartment itself is very beautiful as are the grounds. We would not live any place else in Ft Wayne after living here. It really is more like a townhouse than an apartment. We feel very safe and are pleased with everything that Windsor Oaks has to offer.

We love our apartment
In reading some of the negative reviews i'm pretty surprised. Sounds like some people can find something wrong in anything, because we love our apartment. Whenever there has been a maintenance issue staff have worked with us and always leave a friendly note saying they've been in our apartment and why. The apartment is very spacious and has great storage. We feel so safe and we never hear our neighbors. I moved here from home and it was hard to move, but the living style here made everything so much better. My husband and i have been extremely happy and would recommend it to anyone. The pool is well kept, the lawn always looks nice, and the landscape is well kept too. We never have parking issues and overall this has been a great place to live.

used to live at windsor oaks
I think this apartment is over rated, yes they may keep up the grounds like they should, but for what kinda of money you pay on rent they should be better built or insulated, I recently moved to parking factors, when you have 2 or 3 people living in an aprtment and they all drive plus have 50 of there friends over got tired of that so i built and moved out, nice energy star home with out the hight utility bills, my daughters room had a draft in it it wouldn't stay warm in the winter, I found frost in my son room

I moved my father to Windsor Oaks after my mother's death. The entire staff, especially Stephen, made the transition exceptional. The customer service extended by Stephen was bar none. He was very professional and helpful. My father loves his new home and the service provided by the staff. Thank you, Windsor Oaks for helping my dad begin his new life in his new home.

Will never recommend
Not sure where the manager came from or what her background is, but worst decision they could have made. Don t get me wrong some of the office staff has been doable. The front office staff act like guards to the queen, and you have to have the right access code to see the manager for anything. Since this manager has been there, there is a list of things that have been going on and nothing seems to ever be done about it. I use to walk the area and be proud of where I lived but over the past couple years it has gone down so poorly that I go to walk in a gym rather than in my own area. The police have been out several times and it makes me not feel safe in my own apartment. The landscaping has gone down the toilets, the bushes are dying and need trimmed and the grass in areas is brown.. They bought flat screen TVs for in the fitness room and those got stolen and so it took months to get them replaced and now that they did, they put cheep plaques up that say Don t Touch (gee that will really stop them). Glad that we pay thousands a month in rent for these great perks. See another reason not to feel safe, if they stole the TV s with cameras in the fitness room then imagine how easily someone could get into my apartment. Issues with dog poop haven been reported, not only by me but by others that I speak with and we all see the same result nothing. You get told that they will send out a letter well what good is a letter, wow that is really going to make the people here shake in their shoes. When you are told something will be done by the management you can expect it to never be done They talk this place up to get you to move in and once they have you they no longer care. They can t even keep their website updated, still showing discounts from June HELLO IT IS AUGUST. The calendar on their website use to be full of great things just like the newsletter but someone has dropped the ball on that as well and there has been nothing for months. You would think that the Management Company would get a clue and do something and bring in someone that is going to care about this place. I guess it is hard to see past you own nose when your not here everyday living in it. People are moving out of this place faster than we see them move in and gee that can t be a good thing. I know I will be moving out as fast as I can and happily into a house that costs less than what I am paying here and have more space. If you were going to rent you would get treated better at low income apartments and be able to save some money. I would not recommend moving here unless you want to get treated horribly every time you have an issue or a complaint and never see results if you have a complaint. If you do then this is the place for you.
