If It's Live or Die - U R On Your On Here!
Since the previous manager left, service at property has declined rapidly. How can you not respond to an issue about a person's health related environmental issues with the apartment? Positively or Negatively? Just no response! I'm moving to the extended stay about 3 miles away for a little more money, a little less space but at least I'll be able to breathe air not contaminated by toxic bacteria growing in the bricks all around my bdrm window 24/7. The windows throughout apartment not well insulated, lots air comes in with them closed. I have to run apartment ventilation fan to filter air so I can breathe which creates large electic bills. In winter my bedroom is freezing because of air that blows in spite of plastic I put up to windows. I am over 60 years old have verifiable allergies and COPD, which I told manager about, but she and owners clearly could care less. I tried for two months to get something resolved with her but she never got back to me not even to offer me option to move to another building or unit. They want Quality Residents but don't provide Quality Service. This is Bait & Switch Property! What you see is not what you get!!!

Yes ! This is what i have been looking for !
This seems to be a very nice community, nice staff, nice locations, everything is so good about it. Also the university is near by. I strongly recommend this community for family, bachelors and elderly people.

Wonderful Staff & Community
I've only lived here for only 9 months, but my experience here so far has been amazing. My lease doesn't end until the end of November but I do plan on signing the lease for another year. The staff is wonderful and very attentive when it comes to any maintenance issues or grounds issues. I've only called once to have my heater filter replacement and there were very quick and responsive. The apartment itself is amazing! It is a key entry so only you and 3 other apartments have entrance into the hallway. There is also a gate to use a key badge to get in or you can give your friends a code to call you to let them in. There are two pools and a FREE tanning bed and FREE 24/7 fitness center that is all inclusive. They have a washer & dryer in every unit. It is very clean and they are great about keeping up with the outside lawns. They throw holiday parties too for the residents and staff. I have no complaints with this place. I would recommend this place to anyone walking down the straight. A great apartment with a great staff equals one great place to live!

No complaints here
I have lived in a studio at Reflections for a yr. Service orders were completed within a buisness day. And I had nice and quite neighbors. I would live here again.

Reflection SUCKS
I signed my lease five months ago. At first, they looked ok.... until i discovered many, many, many problems. Reflections apartments are terrible, they are old, poor quality, and their maintainance are not promptly. Please do not sign with them. I cant stand living here for any longer, my lease will be broken next month. Now, i feel like i wasted my time, money and my deposit.

It's okay if you don't mind horrible office staff and crappy maintenace
This is a horrible place to live. I will post details once I move out. If you are decent and expect good service-DO NOT MOVE HERE. The price is ok, location is good, but be aware of what you are getting in to when you move in. If you are a prospective tenant, ask current tenants about maintenance response (especially "emergency maint", office staff(especially the rude big curly haired blonde), the trash situation, snow removal, dishwashers problems, the gate, and increased crime.

Do not live here!
I have had numerous problems since moving into Reflections and will be moving out when my lease terminates. Security at Reflections is a serious concern. Two people have been shot in this neighborhood while I have lived here. The gates frequently do not work, and it takes days and sometimes weeks to have the security gates fixed. The "emergency" maintenance number is not always answered, and even when building security is an issue (broken front door lock), they are unresponsive. The managment frequently finds reasons to be in my apartment when I am not home, and I do not feel as if my personal belongings are safe when they do so. For instance, one time they said they had to enter to check the number on my washer. They are uncooperative, do not answer questions that are asked because they are not listening to the question asked, and have failed to get bills with utilties out on time but still require on-time payment. In effect, they will hold you to your responsibiltiies but constantly deny any of their own. Find other housing...anywhere!

Don't live here if you have standards
As a former resident who lived in this community for 5 years, I can attest to the historical decrease in quailty of this property. When the property was managed by Aimco, things went fine. Over the last two years, the property has been managed by at least three different organizations. Unfortunatley each has been slightly worse than the last. The staff in the leasing office seems to change with the seasons. The last property diretor who left in April and may have been the last shred of dignity to the place. Additionally, the pre-screening standards that Aimco once offered (no one with a felony would be allowed to rent) has been thrown out the window. For a test of quality, try calling thier offices. I usually had to call 3-4 different times during business hours in order to have anyone pick up the phone. Most of my maintenance requests were filed in person because of the poor service and response with picking up the phone. While maintenance requests were addressed in a timely fashion, they ususally took 2-3 tries to fix the problem. Additionally, when speaking to my neighbors about moving, I offered to provide them with a copy of my rental agreement as they were paying nearly $40 per month more than my lease rate. When my neighbor questioned the staff, they assured her that her rate would not increase that year because she was already paying more than the market rate (i.e. more than what someone who would walk off the street to rent would be quoted). I can't imagine gauging a long standing tennant as a testament to good management or service. Additionally, if you're looking to lease here, question thier "utility fees." Under the newest management, they have taken to charging $4 every month just to issue a formal billing statement. That bumps your rent up by $48 per year for them to give you a piece of paper letting you know how much you owe them. The grounds are upkept with mowing, but that's about it. The street lights go through periods of not working, the gates are frequently broken, and there have been more than 4 water main breaks in the last year resulting in no flowing water. One of the final staws to living in this place is the crime. From around October '08- April '09 there were substantial amount of apartment break-ins that occurred midday and in broad daylight. One tenant who lived next to the leasing director had thier apartment broken into in a 30 minute window of the leasing director's husband leaving the building. When the same break-in has occurred weekly in different parts of the community, there may be someone watching you. If you live there, talk to you neighbors, all of them. You may be surpised by what you learn. The community was not forthcoming with the number of break ins, but your neighbors will be ready to speak thier minds about it. The price was cheap for living here, but... as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for."

New Owners/New staff=BAD CONDITIONS!!!!
It is so sad to see what has happened to this community since we first moved in back in 2006. The ownership changed last year and problems started then. The property has been neglected, mowing is terrible-a bunch of guys in t-shirts and cut offs, there is virtually no other landscaping aside from overgrown dandelions everywhere. Owners kept saying they were working on the crime problem, but it's taking forever. They promised cameras at the gates MONTHS ago, but none have been installed. The only upside was the great staff that remained in the office and on maintenance, but all of the people that we liked are now gone. The previous manager, Brooke, was great to us. Always helpful and concerned. Don't bother with the new manager. He won't even talk to us. I see seen him outside smoking constantly, but is apparently to busy to deal with residents! These apartments are decent, but I am sure you can find a place with better service and equally nice apartments for a better price. Maintenance has also fallen apart in the past 2 months. A couple of the guys are still around that actually care, but the guy in charge now is a real jerk. It really makes us sad to move from here when our lease is up this summer. We thought we'd be here for several years, but now we can't wait to get out! It doesn't take that much effort to care about your residents (they are your bread and butter, aren't they?), but apparently it takes more effort than the current manager or the owners (AKA slumlords) can muster.

We Made A Big Mistake Signing a Lease Here
We should have known with all the lies at the time we leased that there would be problems. Parking was supposed to be one parking place in front of your home and one in the area behind the front parking. However, that didn't turn out to be the way it was and even one maintenace man said he could have 2 in front. We did go to the office and was told as others who have written reviews that it was a first come first serve. We were also told that we were the first ones to mention the parking issue. Since reading other reviews I find we weren't the first ones to notify the office. During the winter we bought our own salt and shovel since the walks were so icey and the snow was deep. Plowing did happen I think twice but in the meantime it was awful trying to get around much less trying to park and then trying to get thru all the snow to the walk. When we received notice of breakins thru out the complex we went to ace hardware and got the gadgets that you put under your door knob to prevent anyone from breaking in. We keep our doors locked and our blinds drawn. Its almost like you are in prison. For about a month there were no lights outside and it was pitch black. Having to go out in the pitch black to your car was terrible and we found the excuse from the office that they had paid the bill for electricity but it had gone to some other area and Indianapolis Power & Lights had shut the lights off. They said as soon as they had the monies credited the lights would be turned back on. We also wish we had known the walls were paper thin. We had pictures on our walls for about a month when we finally gave up straightening them every time doors would slam in the apartment next to ours. Maintenance - oh boy as one person said previously there was a hot water issue - we have had that issue twice. We also had another issue and was told that someone would come to help with the mold on the walls. Its still there - maybe they will take care of it before the next people move in. Our fence gate is broken (maintenance man admitted he broke it) Its still broken. Our prior neighbors told us when they moved out that one year was more than enough here. Boy they sure had that right - we have been counting the days until our lease is up. Someone else mentioned trash. One our neighbors doesn't like to go to the trash area and dumps their trash on the neighbors patio's. We picked up more today. Since December sleeping thru the night is very difficult when for some reason people that should be sleeping are outside yelling and fighting. The apartments look nice when you first look at them - its too bad that the managment group/office doesn't care after you lease what happens to them. Its a real shame.

Two shot at northwest Indianapolis apartment complexWTHR-TV
WTHR-TV updated 1 minute ago David MacAnally/Eyewitness News Indianapolis - Two teenagers were shot at an apartment complex on the northwest side. Police were called to the Reflections Apartments in the 7900 block of Welchwood Drive, near 79th and Harcourt, on the report of a gunshot around 8:50 Monday night. "We believe this is a possible attempted residential robbery," Sgt. Thompson said. "Several people were inside the apartment. There were two 18-year-old males inside, both of which were shot, possibly through the door." Sgt. Thompson said both of the teenagers were shot at least twice and were taken to Methodist Hospital in stable condition. Matthew Szenderski, who lives a few doors away from the shooting, said he talked to another roommate of the victims. He wasn't home at the time of the shooting, but said he got a call from one of the victims as the shots were being fired. "He said both of his roommates were just shot. He said somebody had just knocked on the door and they opened the door to see who it was and as soon as they opened the door, the people tried to come in," he said. Police are looking for two suspects, including a black male about 5'8" to six-foot tall with a medium build, wearing a black bandana, black shirt and black hoodie. He was armed with a long black gun, possibly a rifle. Police don't have a description on the second suspect, nor do they know whether they fled the complex on foot or in a vehicle. Szenderski said residents had received a letter warning them to be aware of an armed robbery in the area. "We thought that had a lot more to do with the holidays, than maybe where we live at," he said. Police say one of the victims may have also been the victim of another recent armed robbery. It is unclear to investigators if the men ever actually entered the apartment, or if they did all the shooting from outside. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.

This place Sucks! DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!
I have lived here for the past 7 months, and I absolutely hate it here. The management has NEVER helped resolve ANY issues that I have had. I have went over there to the office Numerous times, and STILL Nothing was done. I have seen people that dont live here come BACKWARDS thru the out gate at night to get in here. They say this place is "safe" and it is NOT! I have had SEVERAL break-in attempts, and management will NOT fix the gate issue. I Also have came home to "Neighbors" dealing drugs in the parking lot, and their company/buyers were taking ALL of the parking spaces. I notified management on at least 8 occasions, and they tried telling me that parking was a "first come, first served" basis. So, you mean to tell me that people who do NOT live here, or pay $800 a month to live here has more rights to parking and more rights Period than me? I think that is horse ----! I think that the management is a Joke, and they are getting rich for doing absolutely NOTHING! I am DEFFINATELY letting the BBB know what kind of shady ordeals are going on here, and when my lease is up, I am getting the hell outta here. I would like to add that maintenance does NOT do their jobs. I have put in SEVERAL service requests, and NOTHING gets done around here. If you have a problem, you better fix it yourself, cause they will NOT come, or if they do, it will NOT get fixed! The lighting outside often dont work, and people are constantly outside shooting guns and walking across the yards all hours of the day and night. It is so ridiculous! Even the ceilings and windows leak when it rains! Best advice: DO NOT LIVE HERE!

Bright, Cheery, Spacious One bedroom
I LOVE my one bedroom apartment here. It is very spacious (I think about 800 sq. ft.). The fitness center is available 24 hours a day free of charge, which is great! I am looking forward to using the pools this summer, too. The community is quiet. I have only had one maintenance issue in my apartment, but it was resolved quickly. Ask for Ken when you lease here. He is great!! If you need help with anything else, Lisa and Brooke (managers) are helpful and fair. Also, very convenient to dining, shopping, etc.

Excellent Value
Overall, I like my apartment and think this community is a great value for the money. It's not perfect, but the last 3 places I lived weren't either. The apts are nice. Updated recently. Appliances are newer and EVERY apt comes with a washer dryer. I live in a studio and to get a studio with a washer/dryer is pretty much impossible! The maintenance service is good and the office staff is pleasant. If I had to complain about something I'd say that the grounds could use a little sprucing up. They are clear of trash, but kind of sparse looking these days. The snow removal was rough this year, but we did receive a foot of snow, so what are you gonna do? The bottom line is that this is the best place I've lived in Indy since I moved here 6 years ago (this is number 4). Nothing super fancy, but quite nice and well priced.

Love the staff here!
I agree with the last review. I have had a great experience here at Reflections. I also love the staff, especially Brooke. I'm sure the rest of the office staff is great, but they are all pretty new, so I don't know many of them. Brooke has been here for several years now and is really committed to this property. I am older and limited in my mobility and things that I can do for myself. Brooke has always been so accommodating to me and Tom in maintenance is fantastic (he has also worked here quite awhile). I love my apartment and anytime I have an issue it is repaired promptly. I have great neighbors and find the community quiet, peaceful, and well maintained. I have lived here for over 6 years and still love it!

Surprised by review...I really like it here.
I am seriously surprised by the negative reviews. I have lived here for 4 years now and I really like it. My apartment is nice, and very reasonably priced. I love that my apt includes a washer/dryer! They have always worked with me at renewal to keep me here, even though I moved in on a discounted special. I have NEVER heard a gun shot in the entire time I've lived here. My next door neighbor did get broken into, but the last place I lived in Carmel had break ins occassionally too. Maintenace was there right away to repair her door and checked all of our doors in the same hall to make sure we were fine. The maintenance staff has been good and I love the office staff. I have dealt with Brooke over the years and was pleased to see her get promoted and replace the previous manager (who was lacking in customer service skills). She is always friendly, calm, respectful and makes sure that my concerns are addressed. One of the leasing consultants even came to help me get my car out of the snow during this past snowfall. I would recommend this place to anyone without hesistation!

I lived in an apartment at Refelctions for 2 years starting in the summer of 2006. Overall I think it is a nice place for the money. The staff is really helpful and if you have a maintenance problem they will fix it right away. I always felt safe there which is a big plus for a female living alone. I would recommend these apartments to anyone on a tight budget.

Overall confusing
I will be moving and was checking other complexes for info and found the comments I have read pretty straight on. I feel safe and comfortable. I have had small maintenance problems that have been fixed but I would not same in a timely manner but not neglected. The Office staff is extremly friendly but once you are in they really dont care if you renew or not. The pool is dirty, I overheard another resident tell her child to get out because of the filth. The landscapeing is very nice but kind of like the staff great at 1st glance. When they tell you they will cut the grass in your yard becareful they dont throw all your stuff in the way breaking items. I do see the children have a good time and as long as the stay away from the maintenance staff (they are mean to the children) they are happy. DONT believe the bull they give you about transfering because its discouraged and they refuse to be acomadateing in any way shape or form. I moved here from another state and found that were I was cared and made an effort to creat a community here you are money and numbers and if they have a social event no one goes because it is not a community feel here. If you move here and dont have any special needs that you need customer service you will be happy.

Safe, convenient, quality studio
I lived in Reflections for a year in 2005-2006. While there, I found the staff helpful and courteous when needed, and wonderfully silent when not-needed. The apartment was of a wonderful quality and the price was just right. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a little place to call their own.

big hassle if there becomes a problem
I lived in these apts and for the first year I loved them! no problems with parking, staff, or anything major. After we made a transfer into a townhome is when everything went downhill! Everything in that townhome was uneven our dishwasher didn't work properly for 4 months and they came out 7 times before anything was resolved and it was replaced but ended up not working like the other(water pressure should have taken the food still stuck on our dishes). We had the rudest neighbors and complained about them plenty of times our neighbors harrassed us after they got a letter about the noise a week after we complained!(little did we know our requests to get things fix and complain was to blow back in our faces when/if we wanted to renew or transfer our lease) The staff is rude and very unprofessional. The maintanence staff knew "the gossip" about us having disagreements with the staff and we could tell that we were being treated differently because of our complaints. I didn't expect for our apt to be perfect but we were paying 750 a month and would like for things to function and not be kept awake all hours of the night from the neighbors. I couldn't count how many things went wrong with our apt and how poorly we were treated for our requests. I would not recommend anyone to live in this apartment complex unless you like being disrespected for having fair standards of living.

Lying Staff/Terrible Community
Reflections wins by a landslide! It is officially the WORST place my husband and I have ever lived, and we have lived all over the country! My husband and I moved to Reflections 2 years ago, and since new management has taken over, the place has literally just fallen apart. The new staff in the office are terrible! They lie, they're rude, they're lazy, and we've reported them to the Better Business Bureau. We have never rented anywhere where the staff are so rude and discourteous; consequently we have terminated our lease with Reflections. It was worth an extra $1400.00 to us to get out of there. There were break in attempts on our apartment and our neighbors, and they're allowing just anyone to move in! The previous owners did background checks; clearly the new owners do not. Also if you have a pet, forget the pet rent and pet fee covering any even TRIFLE damages to your apartment; they will send you a bill for anything! We recieved a bill from them to replace carpet that was not even new when we moved in, and even with documentation to prove it was not new they still are charging us to change out carpet who knows how many people have lived on prior to us! They are terrible to pet owners! If you are a previous renter of reflections and they have done the same thing to you, do as we did and report them to the Better Business Bureau. It is unacceptable for them to take advantage of their renters. If you're looking for an apartment in the area, and you read this review.....save yourself some drama and live somewhere else.

Like my pretty apartment
I moved here in last year august - so I would say thats ample time to review (wanted to wait to post). I have not had one problem with the community. The apartments are a really awesome deal for the money - really updated (appliances, cabinets, carpet, tile). I've had your typical service requests - ie) my dishwasher wasn't rinsing right, garbage disposal jammed, wanted splash guards on my shower. No matter how big or small i've always had a courteous staff take down the request. And the people who fix it always leave me a note about what they did which i appreciate. Sometimes if I put it in on a friday it would take till monday or tuesday but thats to be expected anywhere. I love it that they have doggie stations everywhere for my dog, and that the grounds are always looking good (no trash). They have a pool attendant in the summer so I can go late after I get off work (two nice pools) - and they have a really nice walking path to use. I looked around alot before moving - most of the places in this area are really out dated or ridiculously expensive, and for me its a great fit and a great deal. No complaints - and I know my neighbors above and to my side both like living her also - my one neighbor has been here for five years...oh and they do have a ton of parking also:)
