Lazy mgmt and maintenance

I can't wait till my lease is up. I report maintenance issues and the staff takes as many short cuts as possible. Nothing gets fixxed properly. My ceiling is cracked from flooding. My closets are stuck on the tracks. My heater doesn't come on. This place will stress you out, keep looking.

Happy at Home

I got on here to actually look at another place's reviews and was shocked to see how low Reflections is and all of the bad comments. I've lived here going on 3yrs and I'm looking to move to another side of town b/c of my job and gas prices but I wouldn't be looking other than that. I love living here. The maintenance always deals with my issues in about a day and the office people are always really nice when I call. I have a lot of packages delivered so I go into the office frequently and they are always super nice even when they are really busy. I work out daily in the fitness center and the Manager always makes a point to say hello to me and tell me how devoted I am to working out. I've seriously never had any problems that they haven't delt with right away. Even when it snowed, I saw maintenance out there shoveling and plowing the sidewalks and they did a pretty good job considering what they had to deal with. It's an apartment and there's going to be problems but I think this is a great place to live!

leaks, holes in my ceiling, and no heat in the winter.

I couldn't wait to get into this apartment (my three bedroom townhome). I was taken by the polite staff, the thick wooden miniblinds, and the large kitchen with white cabinents and new black appliances. Things started to go downhill the day we moved in. One of the staff (who happens to be the only one that ever seems to actually care) led us into the apartment only for us to find that the washer and dryer that we had to pay extra for were not yet installed and you could lift the kitchen counter top off of the cabinets it was resting on. After three work orders we finally got our washer and dryer however the laundryroom door and part of the kitchen floor is damanged now. then the leaks started. mostly faucets that leak steaming hot water but the worst was when the shower pipes were leaking and caused damage to the ceiling below it. I had a GIANT hole in my kitchen with exposed piping for about a month. We were told "the painters will get to it." then when we discovered the leak was not fixed the maintenance guy came over..stared up at the pipe and said he didnt' see a leak and acted like I was an idiot. When the painters finally came, they left me a note saying they came to fix it but there was still a leak. EXACTLY! Usually the maintenance comes out to fix things and it's broken again ten minutes after they leave. They actually took one leaky shower knob off and just moved it to the other side(right in front of my roomate)so now it's just leaking somewhere else. i've been locked in my shower after they "fixed" the door. and the most recent and WORST problem is that it's almost december and my apartment is at a freezing 60 degrees. though the thermostat is set at 85. they've been out here twice to fix it. i can't wait to get out of this apartment.

Some problems, but good place overall.

I had been shopping about a month for an apartment in Indy, my main attractions being open floor plans, nice kitchen, and washer/dryer in-unit. I found all of that at Reflections. Floor plans are boxy, but open and have a good flow; kitchen is spacious and has a gas range. I am a nerd for cooking, so this was a bonus. They allow you to paint, another bonus since this is my first real place out of college and I'm excited to make it "mine". Also, tons of closet/pantry space. I've a bicycle that I've to keep in my bedroom, but that's not a big deal. Evidently, the neighbors before me were evicted because of restricted breeds and uh.. how you say.. "habits". Normally this wouldn't be ideal, but Reflections replaced all of the carpet, blinds, linoleum, scoured the appliances, and resealed the bath to get rid of the pet traces and resin, etc. So, I moved into a basically new unit. Ben and Abby made moving in pretty quick and painless, so no complaints there, and I've continued to have a good rapport with the office staff. I've had a couple problems with the upstairs neighbors' pipes leaking into my utility closet, but both times, the maintenance staff were quick to come and fix it and do everything necessary to shape the apartment back up, including vacuuming the water from the floor and repainting/spackling the ceiling. Noise is eh'ish from Harcourt Rd. just outside my bedroom window, but the neighbors are rarely noisy, and only bad when they're doing laundry or vacuuming. But, what do you expect in an apartment? So, overall, the good has definitely outweighed the bad. I'd recommend, definitely, and have.

New new Management

The place is ok, just uncaring, ignorant morons in the office. I had a 1/2 inch gap between the door, and the door frame. The heat never really worked...

Hassled about transferring, Apt rented out from under us going on 4 months now...

Everything was fine until I put in a transfer request. The one and only reason is to up-size to a bigger apt for my g/f who had just moved in. We had out hopes set on a 1 BR, however, at this time, only $40 seperates you from a 1 BR/1 bath or a 2BR/1.5 bath. We opted for the latter. Everything was taken care of paperwork wise and we were set to move the 1st of Sept. As I am writing this, it is almost October. Still nothing like we were promised all those months ago. We were promised this ground flat 2 br, and it was leased out from us because the ditzy girls in the office can not relay a message to ---. The replacement for this is a run down apt in the back of the complex, on the 2nd floor, with the deck that is 1 ft by 2.5 foot. This being the main reason that we wanted ground floor. Ok. fine. Now, we have been informed that it will be at least next year before we will be able to get something close to what we want. I responded to ------, the transfer lady, that I have been shoved off 3 times now with my transfer...It really did't seem to bother her, or the fact that I was seriously thinking of moving out completely. I understand why she would think that however. But my money is no greener than the person behing me, and they also realize that many people are waiting in line to take my apt thanks to the Marion Co tax hike. --- seems to have wanted to help, however, seemed held back by the uppers. The grounds are washed away to a semi-drab landscape. There is really nothing to do around here on complex either. Seems to be a nice complex, no problems until this. I think just the vision of dancing dollar signs and laziness from the females in the office has went to their heads. Either way, this will give me an opportunity to go to a place that mirrors my wants and needs better than Reflections. It's not like they care either way. (above written Sept/07) -------------------------------------------------------- Well, here we go again... The issue hasn't been resolved yet, I put money down on another apartment property, then came to Reflecions to pay monthly rent. I spoke with ------- about my issue, as she seemed to actually care about this. She's new is the only reason I guess. She talked me out of moving, and stated that she would help. The next day, I was leaving for vacation, so I told her to e-mail ---, ------, and everyone else to see if they could help. She said she would have --- call me the next day, while I was on the road. --- called the next day as promised, said that he had a 2BR flat on the 1st floor (remember the useless balconies?) with a Dec 1st move in. GREAT!!!! He said that he needed my Visa to put $100 to hold it for me. OK. He is the number. $100 to you. Thanks ---. Good to go. ------ the transfer lady says everything is a go. She says she will get the lease paperwork over to you to sign. (I never got the paperwork, for those of you keeping score) I even called ------ 1 week after this to confirm. Can you guess the response? Everything still good. "2br flat for a Dec 1st move-in, right Sir?" Fast forward 1 month to now. Called the office to ask why I haven't got my monthly rent bill. Talked to ------. That's a comforting feeling. I'm joking....seriously joking. She said some mouthful of rolling garbage in hopes that something might please you in hopes that you will shut up and stop bugging her. Nothing useful here. Talked to ------ again. Five times dumber after that phone call. In her book, customer service equals denying everything, and yelling. Went to the office after work to talk to someone, met ----. Told her my 1/2 hour long issue, she said she would have someone call me the next day. I suggested e-mail, as it leaves a paper trail. Now, it is 1pm, and as of now, nothing in my e-mail. I know, I am flabergasted as well. Totally shocked. Please, try to contain your excitement. I have through this entire time. Maybe I should go in swinging, and see what develops. Called AIMCO Corp. Erin said that she would call me back before Thursday, this being on Tuesday. Haven't heard from her yet, but it is only Wednesday. --------------------------------- Yesterday, Wednesday Oct 31st, ------- the manager called and left a rather nasty voicemail on my phone stating that this was all my fault and it was a miscommunication of her part. Yeah, I didn't understand it either. Still nothing productive though. The best customer service, and rental experience, only at Reflections. Willow Lake has awesome looking apartments , and they are only a mile of so away. I have an appt with them later in the week. By the way, if you need AIMCO's Corp. number for any reason: 1-800-999-8600. ------------------------------------------------------- 12/14/07 Nothing really productive ever happened. They kept renting our apartment out, and/our moving our date farther out. It got to the point when enough is enough. I moved out about 9 days ago. Moved to another place, apparently Willow Lake or North Willow. I am guessing management REALLY DOES reads these. Now, just act to fix the issues. After many, many phone calls that ended in no response, I am done with this place, thankfully. Oh...I forgot, If you need any Heroin, weed, or pills, go to **** Baronfield Circle APT ***. OR watch for a ragged out Black Crown Vic. They moved in 4 weeks before I moved out. Another factor that pushed our move along.

Okay Community, but rude Staff

We lived in Reflections for 1 yr, believe me we were ready to leave the day after we moved into the apartment. It really started on wrong foot. The refrigerator was defected and they refused to believe us. All the food we purchased upon arrival was spoiled. We wrote two letters to management before they were convince the fridge needed to be replaced. As part of their revenge toward us, they sends us eviction letter because our bikes were on the porch. Well we were forced to leave the bike in the middle of the living area since there wasn't any other place to store it. Nonetheless, the place is nice complex to live. It's just missing management to run the damn place. They have great grounds for walking, but the maintenance staff is extremely rude too. I think they just attack the wrong people to work there. UNDER PAY WORKERS THIS NOT A PLACE I WOULD CALL HOME.

I was robbed!

I lived here for over 3 years and never had a problem. I was in the process of moving out and had requested maintenance to fix a few minor things. They came during the day while I was gone to work. I come home to find my TV gone and some other irreplaceable items missing. Ironically, my door was locked and there was no sign of forced entry. What a coincidence?! Apparently the maintenance worker said that the TV was already out of the apartment when they came to service it! Impossible!! Because I hadn't started moving my stuff out yet and if they were there to fix apartment things, then why would they even notice the TV missing?! Overall, the rest of my stay was pleasant. However, after this, I would never recommend this place to anyone!!

Great community

My roommate and I love this place. We moved from renting a private home and worried about living in a larger community, but it has been a pleasure. The grounds are nice and apts are well cared for. Our A/C went out in the middle of a hot night and Tom on the maintenance team responded immediately and was so cheerful about it! Everyone in the office has been super nice as well. We just love it here, especially now with the pools open. We would absolutely recomment it to anyone!

Best in the area

I have lived here almost a year now. This apartment complex has to be one of the best in this area for the price. I lived at Presidental Estates for two months and this is such a GREAT change! I was so happy to move into Reflections!<br>In my apartment, I have had immediate response to my maitenence requests which are few and far between due to the more modern floorplans.<<(less problems)<br>I really like the staff and the maitenence guys. The pool is really nice and not flooded with unsupervised kids like the last place I was at! <br>The only problem with this place is that sometimes trash sits out at the dumpster because people do not know how to put it in there, but if that is the only problem...then there obviously not much to complain about!<br>Overall, I would totally recommend this place to everyone! <br>Ask for Ben for your leasing consultant! I have really enjoyed how he has treated me!

hmmmm

Well I work there and.... yes the gates are crap, unfortunately people hit them every other day causing them to malfunction ( people realize though anyone can get it anywhere if they really want too) and yes the trash compactors always have trash around them, people leave their trash out side the compactor and everyone else follows ... other wise they work. When maintenance cleans them up daily there is nothing wrong with the unit. the office staff I feel is very personable and responsive and maintenance responds quiker than any other place I've worked or lived. They may not always be able to figure it out the very first time but they don't stop till they do. With apartments, homes or condos or anywhere you live there are always those people you wish did not live by you, unfortunately you can't just make them move. It's called the law. I feel the staff trys very hard and genuinly cares about the property. the apartments are not that of an amli property but you are also not paying 1,000 a mo for a one bedroom. Everyone can agree that you encounter people who have bad days or can only take so much from people who immediatley want to yell or go off. To wrap it up it's worth the money the staff is human but honestly 99% of the time they are on it!!! I am sincerely sorry to those who hated it as much as they did. In life you can't please everyone.

Enjoy Living Here

My husband and I have lived here over 2 years and really enjoy it. I am surprised to see poor reviews. I suppose people only write on this site when they're unhappy. <br><br>We have had a great experience. We have never had trouble with parking (maybe this is due to the part of the property we live on-I'm not sure). We have only had minor repair issues in our apt and the maintenance staff has always responded promptly and done a great job. In addition, we have had great experiences with the office staff. They worked with us at renewal and have always been pleasand and friendly. We enjoy our apartment, the pools during the summer and the fitness center. At times, the gates have been an annoyance when they were either not working, or working improperly, but that seems like a minor inconvenience compared to all the things we like about the complex.<br><br>We have lived many places in Indy and Reflections has been among the best.

Think again.

I am just into my third year living at Reflections Apartments and am regretting my decision to stay. When I first moved in the I couldn't say enough good things about the place: lots of space, clean, and friendly staff. My neighbors were very nice, considerate and respectful. For some reason, the quality of people moving in has rapidly declined. Now all I hear are LOUD noisy cars without mufflers, blaring music with booming base, people yellling across the parking lots at ALL HOURS of the night, and barking dogs. I am not a light sleeper, so it is loud enough to wake me. <br><br>There is junk outside of a lot of apartments and it looks so white trash. Tons and tons of crap just hanging out on their balconies and patios. I can only imagine what the inside of their home looks like. Why management allows this to go on, and doesn't issue warnings or fines is beyond me. <br><br>The vast majority of of people do not pick up after their dogs despite the convenience of doggie disposal bins througout the complex. I am a dog owner and take the time to pick up after my dog, so it irks me when other people are not as respectful. Again, nothing is done about this.<br><br>I have also noticed a few vehicles which have remained in the same (VALUABLE) parking space for weeks on end - never moving. I am not sure if these cars no longer run or what, but I thought that was against policy. When I called to report one in particular, which had sat in the same spot for over 2 1/2 months now (still there) the woman who answered treated me like this was a huge inconvenience for her and how dare I report this. She was flat out rude!<br><br>I know that no apartment situation is ever going to be perfect and I can deal with some inconveniences... but this is BAD and getting WORSE! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! Reflections management and staff need to step up their act.

Has Pros and Cons

I live here or about a year. I loved having so much space. All the appliances were new as well as the carpet. Honestly, I can't complain about that at all. We did have some plumbing issues, which wasn't a surprise, since it is such and old building, but the maintanence took care of it...kinda. They left a hole in my ceiling and refused to fix it...annoying and and eye sore. My neighbors were EXTREEMLY obnoxious. I don't know if the redneck trucks or the ridiculous bass was more annoying. The apartment complex rents out rooms to Lincoln Tech to serve as dorm rooms or their students and let me tell you that there is nothing more frustrating than being woken up every night by redneck trucks and thumping base. I made numerous complaints about the noise as well as my fellow neighbors, but nothing ever came of it. The pool is super nice as well as the fitness room. The management staff is all very young and friendly, but seemed unorganized at times. Honestly, there are much worse places to live. This place was pretty nice, but I just couldn't handle the noise!

Fabulous Living Experience

I have enjoyed my experience thus far at Reflections. The quality of the apartment home is exceptional and the location is great. There are several inviting ammenities on the property as well. Such as, the swimming pool, fitness center, and play ground. The office staff have always treated me with respect. I feel like I have made an exceptional choice by living at Reflections.

Moving out Sunday!

I am so excited to move out of these apartments. The first year I lived here, everything was great. I had no problems whatsoever. However, my second year has been significantly worse. The gate has always been a pain. But it got even worse when it was broken last fall and closed on my car when I was halfway through! Aimco handled the claim promptly, but I know I wasn't the only one who had it hit their car. I saw others. <br><br>My neighbors have been another story. The original ones have moved out, and now it's a mix between redneck (loud trucks) and ------ (loud bass). And let's not forget about the annoying barking dogs. People, it's a 760 sq ft apartment...IT'S NOT BIG ENOUGH FOR A BIG DOG! Of course they're going to bark incessantly. Idiot owners.<br><br>The staff has always been sweet to me, even when I'm complaining. ;) However, after I filed my 30-day notice, some got snippy with me. The pool and fitness area are also nice, as is the apartment itself. I think it's just the inconsiderate trash that the low price and rent specials brings in. Live and learn. I'm moving into a double now and am looking forward to having individual landlord attention.<br><br>I don't want to say I hate it here...because I don't. I'm just ready to move out and away from the dregs of Indianapolis. I'm tired of being frustrated.<br><br>

Oh, oh Let me tell you the TRUTH abou this place

Lets be truthful. When it comes to renting an apartment you have to take the good with the bad. In this instance, when you walk in and look at the white kitchen cabinets, the updated black appliances, the open floor plan, and the awesome wood mini blinds you say oh wow, I love it. Then... you move in and find out that when it rains the ceiling makes a weird clanking noise for hours. Your bedroom faces the parking lot (dont let the brick fasaude fool you)and you hear everyone's car like there isnt even a wall there. You can here people walking in the parking lot. Dont let me forget the non exsistant parking spaces. You better get home before dark if you want to park in front of your building. Granted it's an apartment, the walls are as thin as a wet paper bag. I've had to literally go upstairs, knock on my neighbors door and tell her can you please stop yelling give it to me daddy, and move your bed away from the wall!!! My apartment was almost broken into one year and the door was dented where the person was trying to use the crowbar. I called the ofc to report it, it took 2 hours for the sheriff to show up the maintance man got there shortly after and they told me if the door locked and was functional then it was "all good". OK I'm a single female and that did not comfort me at all. To this day they refuse to fix the dent in the door. I can say the only good thing about this place is the kitchen. I absolutly love the white cabinets. You just dont see that. In closing the pros are the kitchen the location and the bedroom is HUGE. The cons are....well the apartment itself. If it doesnt work they'll fix it but believe me you'll be calling at least once a week. One more thing, THE INSECT PROBLEMS WILL DRIVE YOU INSANE.

It was fun while it lasted!

Just for the record, for people like the previous reviewer, the manager can't tell you crime statistics. And if she could why would she, if one thing happens that's going to be too much for most. But regardless, I spent 2 years here at reflections and the staff has always been nice (different everyday, but nice). I never had an problems with my apartment minus a few heating issues that maintenance always came out to fix promptly (not permanently, but promptly). The grounds are well kept. Most of the neighbors that I talked to were friendly (even though the one girl never brought me my cookie dough that I ordered). I felt safe, wasn't embarrassed to invite people over, stuff got fixed on time, and there was peace and quiet when I needed it. What more can you expect in an apartment community?

High crime rate

I received from the sheriff's office a hand out a map of the neighborhood where Reflections is located. The complex had high rates of vandalism, burglaries, assualts and thefts reported.<br><br>Anyone can obtain this info from the Marion County Sheriff's department. I finally moved out of this hell hole. When I lived there, I wondered why a sheriff's car began parking in the Reflections lot late at night. Well, after seeing the high rates of crime, I now know why.<br><br>The dumb managers won't tell you this though...

Really

Depends on what you are looking for. The place is super cheesy and very poorly constructed (ALL of my cupboards, drawers, etc are at an angle! Everything in the apartment is crooked). I have asked for three times, and not yet received a smoke detector and I have lived here over a year. Very illegal. The maintenance is fine otherwise; things are usually fixed within a day or so. I am not sure why Reflections invested money to be a Gated Community. I mean, come on!! I really hope that they didn't spend too much money on the gates because anyone can come in and out at whatever time they want. However, I personally have not felt unsafe here at all, and have never had problems with theft or anything like that. And the complex is very quite for the most part. Nothing special about Reflections, but things could definitely be worse.

Reflections Rocks My World

I think this is a very lovely place to live. The maintenence workers are timely and efficient. The office staff is friendly and amiable. I have never had a negative encounter. If you read your lease and pay your rent on time, you won't have the problems that the previous complainers have had. Reflections definitely offers the nicest apartments I have seen in this price range.

Great Staff - Great Apt. - Great Place to live!

I get so sick of seeing the very few people, who have obviously had maybe one bad experience, complain. It's sad that this society believes in complaining but no says anything when they are happy. I've never had anything but good experiences here and the office staff and main. staff are always pleasant to deal with.

This place is terrible

The amount of false realities that this place gives you to get you to rent an apartment is astounding. The office staff consist of a bunch of a revolving door of morons that never have any answers to your questins and then get offended when you press for answers, which in all reality your paying for. Never, ever, ever I repeat ever rent an apartment from this place. they are stupid and full of crap!!!

bad apt., bad staff, good maintenance crew

Like the rest of the reviewers, I have had my share of problems with Reflections. However, these problems only started happening in the past year or so. The staff has changed, the maintenance crew has changed(but still is timely and effecient) and the apartments are really cheaply constructed. The people in the area have changed as well since I moved in three years ago. I will not be re-signing my lease.

wish i would have seen this earlier

im about to move into a studio with my bf and i havent even seen reflections yet since i live in missouri. reading these reviews scarea me and definately is preparing me for the worst. im hoping that reading these comments and writing down my questions will help in requesting good service from this place. although i did notice when i talked to the first employee they said it was 429 for a studio no student discounts (my bf in school) and when i talked to a second employee they said its 449 and the student discount was 429. should i be wary of this --------?
