White Trash Central
Althought it's in a nice Northside neighborhood, this place is a dump. Dumb employees, trashy neighbors and dog crap everywhere.

It's a bad idea
I lived in Reflections for over a year and it was pretty much a nightmare. The apartment was small and overpriced and they raised the rent without telling me and then charged me a late fee for not paying the entire amount on time. Maintainance on the apartment was done upon request with no problem but outside was a different story. The outside lights would burn out regularly and were rarely replaced without several calls to the office. They took away all the dumpsters and replaced them with one big compactor in the middle of the complex so you had to drive your trash to it and it was always overflowing with trash and smelled horrible. They had some security on hand at times but the locked entrance gates were useless because there was no fence around the property or the gates were stuck open. The staff was RUDE and once you move in, you will NEVER be invited into an office to discuss anything again. You will have to talk to them standing in the lobby. The promised "media center" was closed because people kept stealing the computer parts. The ceiling was cracking.

10 Reasons Not to Live Here!
This place is crap and I've had problems from the very beginning.

One, they assigned me and apartment, but the week before I was to move in, they told me that somehow the "computer" assigned it to someone else and I would have to live in another apt. I was forced to send out new change of address forms to the post office and lost some mail in the process.

Two, people have dogs here--even in the studios. There is dog waste all over the place.

Three, the trash compacter is never emptied. Trash piles up and people continue to throw stuff on top of it--mattresses, chairs, boxes, etc.

Four, the staff is rude and uneducated.

Five, many of the other residents are trash. Windows open--even in the winter--with music blasting out. I have noticed that the neighbors directly around me--who are quiet--have all moved out. So I guess I'm not the only one getting tired of it.

Six, it snowed about a foot here during the week of X-mas. The sidewalks were not cleaned until late that evening and the plow had only cleared one path out to the main road. I had to walk through a 2 foot snow drift to get to my car and then struggle to get the car through the unplowed drive. It wasn't better until it finally melted.

Seven, the studios started out at 429. a month. It seems they;ve raised the rates to 449.00. This is way too much for this postage stamp sized apartment.

Eight, the studios have a stackable W/D. I thought it was a good deal until i began doing laundry. You have to do three times as much laundry because they're so small.

Nine, the heating/AC systems are crap. It's a wall unit and is loud as a jet engine in the winter--and uses lots of electricity.

Ten, maintenance sucks. I moved in and one of my windows never had a screen. I repeatedly asked for a replacement and my calls were never returned.

Learn from the rest of us and stay away from this place. After living here six months, I am moving to another AIMCO property. I don't want to move, but it's better than staying here!

Poor Staff
I lived there for a year and the staff was less than accomodating. In fact, the office manager was extrememely rude. The maintenance staff was prompt but it never felt like home. If you went into the club house the staff wouldn't smile, say hello or even regard you at all. If a problem was to arise, they didn't want to help and every staff member would give you a differen bull-crap response so there was no consistency at all. I would not recommend living there at all!

Don't live there, it will cost you.
They used to have dumpsters in each parking lot, now they have two trash compactors that break every weekend. Trash is constantly piled outside them, it looks awful, smells awful and I sure it is unhealthy. They allow pets so everyone has a dog which they don't clean up after. The community has done nothing to make this problem better. The facilities are supposed to be 24 hours yet you can't tan or use the computers when the staff isn't there. We had a townhome and the back door needed a different key then the front, we requested a key for it yet never got it. When you move in check everything and make sure you get them to walk through with you. They will act like you can come back and tell them something is wrong later. The problem is if you find something wrong is not noted in your file, your file appears like everything was 100% in the apartment. Also, make sure you request a walk through upon move out. Again, they will act like it is not a big deal and they will let you know if something is wrong. They let you know by a bill and a unprofessional hand written note a couple of weeks later. We got screwed. If you live in Indy, rent from AMLI. I had far less trouble with them.

Poor construction, maintenance, and office staff
Reflections rarely missed an opportunity to disappoint me, beginning with the day I moved in. I was told by their office staff that the apartment I was to move into had been totally renovated and that I would be the first person to live in it (the entire complex was refurbished over the past several years). When I arrived, however, I was told that the apartment assigned to me had not only been lived in before but was filthy and smelled like a dead animal. Fortunately they were able to give me another new apartment with the same layout, although I had to correct everyone I had already given my address to. The office staff is clearly unprepared to manage an apartment complex of this size.

The refurbishment may have improved the appearance of Reflections, it's obvious that a lot of corners were cut in the process. Though most of the problems are just nuisances that can be fixed easily (doors not closing and needing adjustment, etc.) there is one severe and inexcusable problem: the buildings were terribly under-insulated. BE PREPARED FOR LOTS OF FROZEN PIPES IN THE WINTER!!! One morning the tenant upstairs turned on the shower only to discover that the pipe had frozen and burst, sending gallons and gallons of water into my apartment. Not only was the bathroom ceiling wrecked, but the inept maintenance staff took nearly two weeks to figure out how to fix the broken pipe, all the while I had no bathroom ceiling and water constantly dripped from the subfloor into my bathtub!

If you are interested in moving to Reflections, please MAKE SURE YOU DRIVE THROUGH THE COMPLEX AT NIGHT! Though quiet during the day, some areas of Reflections change their character a lot at night. After the sun goes down my parking lot is constantly filled with noisy teenagers, and the thin walls don't provide much of a barrier if you live next to a loud-music fan.

Don't be taken in by Reflections' superficial looks. I would recommend only their studio apartments which come equipped with brand new washers and dryers, but only for that reason. Be prepared, though, there are a lot of hassles you will have to put up with if you choose Reflections.

Name change was only change
We have only lived here a few months. From the day we moved in, I saw trouble. The staff had none of the paperwork ready like they said they would and we had to wait forever. This just shows how unorganized things are. Our upstairs neighbors are constantly throwing things onto our porch from their balcony and having people over at all hours of the day and night being very loud. We have complained to the office several times, but nothing seems to be done. We even complained about them doing drugs and they didn´t seem too interested. We had several things wrong with the apartment and when maint. finally showed up (after about 2 weeks) they said most of it they did not have the things to repair it or not worry about it (The toilet is loose but maint. said it is OK). Some of the repairs left the apartment damaged (bathroom door would not shut, so maint. hammered the casing and splintered it in several areas). The remodeling that has been done looks very nice, but don´t be sucked in by the looks. From what others I´ve talked to....a name change was the only change.

Changing names - but not changing problems.
Greensprings Manor, now called "Reflections," was one of the single worst complexes I have lived in Indianapolis, next to Lake Nora Arms Apartments.

For the money, I felt I was getting a bad deal. I paid around $700 a month for a two bedroom, right next to a hospital.

Our next door neighbor was one of the maintenance employees and he had a constant run of people in and out of his apartment as he sold drugs. He had a green light (for "open") and a red light (for "closed"). His children liked to jump up and down on top of my boyfriend´s car that was in the carport and he rarely said anything unless we complained directly to him. His response was usually slow, vague and irritated.
Our other neighbor was a Chinese couple that could not speak any English and who blasted their TV at all hours of the day and night. Any concerns we brought up with them were useless as we did not speak the same language. It seemed a waste of time to try and ask someone at the office to speak to them for us.

When we had a problem, no one usually bothered to show up. When I moved out, they could have cared less.

Their only major concern there was that I pay my rent on time. The one time in a year that I accidentally paid late, they were on top of us like rabid dogs.

We tried to tell them three times that we had a kitten and they kept telling us they would charge us, then did not. This isn´t such a horrible thing, but they weren´t just being nice - they were inefficient and unorganized.

Unless the new "Reflections" has a completely different staff and residents, I will never live there again.
