Im going to be honest. I am very picky when it comes to apartments. However i must say that so far with me just recently moving here i have nothing to complain about. The process was very simple and i was helped every step of the way by the great office staff especially Niki and Denise.I do live in a 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom with a den and i pay 1064 for rent which i think is super reasonable since my cable is included in the rent. I couldn't be more grateful and happy to have moved here. Its quiet and everyone keeps to themselves. I couldn't be happier here and i would recommend this apartment complex to anyone who is looking in this area.

I am relocating back to the NW Indiana area from Michigan. Recently, I spent 3 days searching for an apartment community to call home. I found Prairie Point online and thought it looked beautiful from the pictures I saw. I braced myself for the reality of what it would really look like and was absolutely shocked. It looked just like the pictures. It was amazing. While touring the community with Denise, who was so sweet, I kept looking for trash on the grounds, A coffee cup, a straw wrapper, anything that I could find. I found nothing. Perfect grounds. While touring I was introduced to the maintenance manager and I told him that I wanted to shake his hand and congratulate him on having such a good crew. I think he thought I was a little nuts. Although I have not yet decided when my exact relocation date is going to be I will going back to Prairie Point for sure!!! John B

I lived here for just over 4 very comfortable years. And in those years if I ever needed anything, the staff took care of it immediately. Although there were other, less expensive options available to me in the area, none of them provided the amenities and impeccable services that Prairie Point did. The staff truly goes above and beyond to make your time here as comfortable and stress free as possible. Also, Jackie is the absolute best to talk with and deal with!

We just moved to Prairie Point at the end of 2016. The staff at Prairie Point are amazing. Jackie helped to ensure that our move went as smooth as possible, and management was kind and courteous. Our apartment was in wonderful condition (one of the BEST I've ever seen)! Thank you Prairie Point for our new home, we are loving it!

You rent an apartment at Prairie Point, you do not only get to lease a fine, luxury and spacious unite. You will have the best maintenance team who can respond to your emergency situation 24/7 with professionalism and promptness. The staff at the management office are extremely friendly and helpful, and the office normally opens 7 days a week! Parking area is huge and the community is quiet. I have never hears or experienced noise from neighbors or anything else. If you have work, classes or simply need to go to Chicago Downtown, this is also a great choice. Rent expense is fair and the train station (East Chicago) is only 25 minutes driving which will drop you at the hear of Chicago Downtown (Millennium Park) They have buildings that are pets friendly and other buildings where no pets allowed to manage noise and to be fair to all.

The staff is great. They are always friendly and they really try to keep everyone happy. The maintenance request are taken care of quickly. I haven't had to request much but anytime I did they would come within 24 hrs. They do a great job of keeping the property up and there is minimal noise. I was nervous about living in an apartment again after owning my own home for years but I do no regret my decision.

I just recently moved into Priarie Point and the staff is amazing! They helped me choose the right place for me at a reasonable price. I love the layout of all of the apartments but I end up choosing the Second floor on Elmwood at the reserve . I couldn't be anymore satisfied with my decision with Prairie point. The luxurious appliances and granite countertops and attached garage absolutely made my decision so much easier. Thank you Prairie point!

My husband and I applied for an apartment at Prairie Point on the application is asked if you had ever been arrested so my husband answered yes and gave his explanation. This arrest was 18 years ago when he was a teenager, he served no time in jail because it was his first offense and only received probation for 1 year. He has not been in trouble with the last since. When the leasing agent told me the reason for the denial I let her know that was a form of discrimination in addition too they need to advertise that there is no "leeway" when it comes to arrest because then applicants like myself and my husband will not waste time in applying. Her response "well we let everyone know we will be running a background check". I commented by saying running a background check does not properly informing applicants, jobs run background checks and my husband has 2 jobs so clearly 'stating that running a background check' does not automatically mean you are not qualified. She stated that was the companies policy and there was nothing she could do. On top of us wasting money on an application fee they also make you pay $300 to hold the apartment when applying so now that we've been denied I was informed that it would take 2 weeks to return the $300. Although I do recognize that the complex is trying to make a safe environment for their tenants they should fully inform their applicants so then they wont waste money.

I've enjoyed some things and have not enjoyed some things while having lived at Prairie Point. They handle maintenance requests quickly and I hadn't had any major issues with staff. Amongst the things i didn't enjoy were: first, they tell you the rent is one thing, then when signing a lease they tell you that's just the base amount. It's more when they add cable and water. Next, rent increased with every lease, sometimes to obscene amounts if you weren't to renew for a year. I've never in my time as a renter experience such high amounts and frequencies of rental increases. Also, when moving, I saw a listing of my exact apartment online being offered at a much lower rate than what I was paying for the years I've lived there. I'm curious as to how returning tenants are to pay so much, while new tenants get the exact same apartments at much lower rates. You'd think they'd want tenants already with them to stay. As another reviewer stated, beware of your NIPSCO bills. In the winter months I've paid as much as $300. I was surprised of this, because I've also never experienced my bills being this expensive for an apartment. My theory is, given the small space, there are too many windows. There is a huge window near the door, a window above the stairs, two huge and one small window in the living room/dining room, patio door in the kitchen, and a huge window in each room. Air gets through these windows making the apartment very cold in the winter. Also, your experience will depend on your neighbors. Tenants with children are noisy, that's a given, but some tenants without children can be just as noisy as well. Overall my review is somewhere in the middle. I liked the amenities, maintenance, and I never interacted with staff much so there were no huge problems. However, I found the rental increases to be suspicious and as another reviewer also stated, it can be very expensive and you'd probably do better just looking into buying a house.

"The entire Prairie Point Community is an extremely beautiful, peaceful, and an exceptionally prodigious secure living environment. The amenities are just the best! 24-hour on-site gym, country club style leasing office, heated pool area, playground (for the little ones), resident's events, personal garages, professional landscaping, snow removal and the list goes on! It couldn't be better located everything I think I need is simply minutes away...shopping, restaurants, transportation, schools etc. This upcoming June of 2016 marks the 1st year of the many highly anticipated years of my residency here at Prairie Point. From day one, Prairie Point has been an absolutely amazing place that my son and I are unapologetically proud to call "home". The entire staff has always been nothing less than "amazing". Special Thanks to Denise and Terese. They have always been extremely accommodating, friendly and very helpful. I'm often told by visiting family and friends that everything here is remarkably beautiful and that they always feel as if they are at a resort. "Now imagine how that makes me feel!". In closing, Every day is a new day, and you'll never be able to find happiness if you don't move on...in this case MOVE IN! #Smile -MGLewisJr

My girlfriend and I are just finishing up a two year stay in Northwest Indiana for her medical school program. If we didn't have to move down to Indianapolis, we would absolutely continue living here at Prairie Point. In the last two years, we have never once wished to be in one of the other communities in the surrounding area where some of our friends live. Going through all of our options when searching for an apartment in the area and making a decision had to happen pretty quickly, but we feel blessed to have landed at Prairie Point. The Management team: I think the management team can make or break the living experience, and the team here is an 'A' team. Denise and her office staff have been outstanding and have made living here a truly great experience. And the few times we needed help with the apartment, we couldn't have asked for a friendlier or more helpful team lead by the maintenance supervisor, Pete. The living space & community: First, the community is safe, feels like home, and never warranted a second thought. Some of our personal favorite parts of the Prairie Point community have been their sand volleyball court and newly renovated gym. We have loved our apartment's layout because it is really open and lets in a lot of light. But, unfortunately, the premium Whirlpool gas stove, dishwasher, washer, and dryer in the Prairie Point Reserve apartments have spoiled us and we have now been disappointed in the appliances offered in apartments we are looking at in Indianapolis. Location: Just a few minutes from a farmers market, grocery stores, Costco, highway, and anything else we have needed. We've really appreciated the easy access to the things we need. It's made daily living a breeze. Thank you, Prairie Point!

My daughter and I enjoyed our stay at Prairie Point, everyone one was very nice and accommodating. The maintenance crew was spot on whenever we had any issues. A special thanks to Denise, Jackie, Nikki and the maintenance crew! We were only there a short time due to my job situation, however, I'm sure we would have been there much longer if it were not for the unexpected change. MB

I am well pleased with my choice to move to Prairie Point. The ladies in the office are not only pretty but dynamic at what they do. Very friendly staff that always greets me with a smile, maintenance fixes things in a timely manner (actually pretty fast), and the grounds are well-kept. It's quiet, has a nice gym, close to anything you can think of, and an all around nice place to live. I looked at 9 other apartments prior to relocating here and this is one that I did not physically visit. I saw pictures online only but the reviews and the pleasantness of the staff is what got me. By the way, the floor plan is something to brag about as well!

We lived at Prairie Point for a bit more than four months. We had needed a short-term, flexible lease in the Merrillville area, and this appeared to be the best option. We were not disappointed. The staff were always exceptionally pleasant and fully competent. We rented a 1.5 bedroom unit with a pleasing floor plan. The layout was the best we have ever seen in an apartment. The appliances in the apartment worked well, and I was especially happy with the programable thermostat. Our only complaint is a minor one: the sidewalks were not always cleared very well after snowfall. NW Indiana gets its fair share of snow, but this winter brought less snow than normal. Blocked sidewalks are a real problem when dog owners take their dogs out for walks and are forced to use the road. This is a safety issue, especially when the edges of roads are not completely cleared of snow either. We did not have a dog at the apartment, but we did drive through the complex. We would have liked for the dog walkers to have stayed off the road, but there really is no alternative with the sidewalks uncleared. This is not a problem for most of the year, and it certainly did not reduce our opinion of PP overall. We were very happy with PP. While we do not expect to live in NW Indiana again, we would definitely consider PP again if we found ourselves in that situation. We recommend living at PP.

I've been living at Prairie Point for just a month and I can already say that is probably the best community in the area. I spent two weeks looking for apartments and when i visited the complex I just decided that was the place that I should be living. The entire staff is just amazing, especially Denise and Terese. I would really recommend this place to live.

We, The Morton's, highly recommend Praire Point! Upon relocating from another State and having no family in IN, we knew God ordered our steps here. A Wonderful Community. Luxury living at its finest! Our Unit even had a Welcoming Gift for us. How thoughtful & Kind! Denise is knowledgeable and Professional -- even giving me a reference for a Physician. Maintenance treats each 'work order' as if it is their own home. Located close to Malls, Restaurants & Entertainment. Beautiful, Clean & Serene.

I have lived at Prairie Point for the past year and have found it to be outstanding in all aspects. The staff is professional, friendly, and constantly available to deal with any problems you may have. I had an incident with my oven at the start of the year and within five minutes two staff members were at my apartment to assist. In addition, they make all apartment related business effortless. There is an online system that you can use for paying rent if you don't want to write a check each month. When it comes to maintenance issues, I have had all my problems fixed within two days of putting in a request. Even snow removal was prompt and complete. There are a variety of apartment options and pets are allowed in a few of the buildings. There is a washer and dryer within each apartment. Additionally, most of the units are new or have been redone within the past few years. I live on the the second floor and have vaulted ceilings that make the apartment seem even more open. Also there are balconies so you can sit outside in the summer. The community itself feels very safe. The complex is well lit and the other residents are respectful. Employees often drive around the community to make sure that everything is in check. In my opinion, Prairie Point makes it feel more like a community than just an apartment complex. The residents are all friendly and respectful. You don't to be concerned with loud neighbors keeping you up at night. You can be as social or antisocial as you want. There are numerous opportunities at the club house to mingle with other residents. Just a few examples this year were: wine, cheese, and chocolate night, Super Bowl bowling, Holiday Party, Facebook Bingo, etc. Plus, there is a pool, sand volley bowl court, and playground for you to enjoy. If you are interested in other entertainment, Prairie Point is a short drive from Southlake Mall or downtown Crown Point. There is always something to do nearby. I would highly suggest looking into Prairie Point if you are considering an apartment in the Northwest IN area. It can seem pricy when compared to the other apartments, but it is well worth the extra cost for all the benefits you will receive from living here.

Prairie Point is a very appealing and well-maintained living community. However, the staff addressed an ongoing noise issue, to which there was no resolution. The property manager told me, "There's nothing more we can do" and suggested the following options 1) move to another apartment within the complex (at my expense) or 2) break my lease at a reduced rate. (Prairie Point charges $2500 to break a lease.) I voiced my concern to the property manager by stating, "I feel stuck," and she agree with me. I pay too much per month to "feel stuck." Unfortunately, this community has changed over time and it appears that collecting monthly rent payments is of greater importance than tenant satisfaction. I don't recommend Prairie Point.

My husband and I moved to Prairie Point in late September 2014 and have had nothing but good things to say! We live in the pet building (there are two buildings in the complex that allow pets) and rarely hear other dogs barking. Actually, the entire apartment complex is very quiet and our neighbors are very courteous. We love how nicely the grounds are kept, the grass is always cut, and how quickly the snow is removed. We've needed to contact maintenance a few times, and they have been nothing but respectful and prompt! They even came to help unclog our sink the night before Thanksgiving! One of my favorite perks is how easy package delivery is! We lived in another apartment complex in IL and were constantly missing package deliveries, requiring us to drive to the Post Office 45 minutes away to pick them up. At Prairie Point, we get a slip in our mailbox, or a phone call, letting us know there is a package at the office, and we can either pick it up or they will deliver it to us! We've used the gym, which has amazing amenities for an apartment complex, as well as the notary services in the office. We've also enjoyed a few of the monthly activities Prairie Point plans for its residents such as Candy Bars and contests. Above all, we feel very safe here, even when walking our dog after dark. Everyone is friendy, there are plenty of things nearby to do, and it's quiet! We would definitely recommend Prairie Point to anyone looking to settle in Merrillville.

I would recommend Prairie Point to anyone who is looking for a luxurious, spacious, quiet community to call home. Not to mention the community activities such as (parties at the club house, grilling, volleyball games) I have lived here a year now and have no intentions of leaving. To say the least its met every single expectation I had. (They are quite high) Prairie Point really does live up to its name. The management at Prairie Point is definitely an elite team who are more than willing to bend over backwards to help you in any situation. Denise has always helped me, even when she is on vacation she is still working (I know because I email her and replies back with in the hour on any questions or issues that may arise). Hands down the best apartments in Northwest Indiana. If you are considering moving here, I give you my word you will not regret it.
