I moved into Breckinridge Court in July 2014. We live in a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment. Our apartment was well cleaned before we moved in and the carpet was shampooed. The area is usually very quiet and we do not hear our neighbors. There is a nice gym that is open 24 hours. The pool is also great. There is a laundry facility if needed but there are also washer and dryer connections in our apartment. We have had a few maintenance problems but maintenance are very prompt in coming to fix the problems (day of call). I have called to have requests for maintenance twice and they have come within the hour. The balconies are very nice to have off of the apartment. I love it here.

    was the worst apartment experience ive ever had and ive lived in a lot of apartments here in the lexington area! i had raccoons tearing at my walls and ceiling every night and the whole place including the laundry area was absolutely disgusting. i actually had to clean the washer to put my clothes in it. the main lady over the place was very rude and useless! would never recommend this place to anyone unless u like living like a rat!

      Moved out a few months ago. We left the apartment clean (except for the stove), paid all of our bills on time, and then got a bill for $300 on top of keeping our deposit. I called to try and talk to them - they neither answered or called back. Now I'm having being threatened by creditors. They refused to do a walkthrough on my apartment twice - then charged for trash removal (there was none), for cleaning the carpet (we stayed the full 1year lease and had normal wear and tear), they claimed we didn't pay our water bill (which is shared by everyone on the complex including the pool) which we did pay as part of our final bill, not defrosting the fridge - which wasn't on the move out sheet. Our dishwasher was installed correctly, cabinet doors kept falling off, we had a window fall out of place, and you could feel the draft from the front door at the top of our steps. During construction they painted our front door and managed to put hand prints on the inside... The best part - when we went to sign the lease I asked if there was going to be any construction going on.. They said "no, just the proposed gym" [that they were advertising as being completed]. Three weeks later (after signing the lease) they announced their $3 million renovation plans - the last phase was the gym (it was not even finished while I lived there). And my roommate got robbed in the parking lot because of inadequate lighting. I've lived in a wide variety of places - from the ghettos during college to $2000 1 beds in DC .. this is by far the worst managed complex.

        This is a decent place. It is in the south part of lexington which is the nice area. The north part of lex is not the best area. Maintenance was helpful. The pool is nice. I never had a problem with office staff. I got most of my deposit back. They did take out some money for the blinds that fell down and broke. I enjoyed my time there, especially having a balcony. The reason I would not rent there again is because it was very hard to heat my studio apt. My electric was $80 for a couple of months and I still was not super warm.

          Do not live there, they will rip you off!!! I lived at Breckinridge Court apartments for over 7 years. When I first moved there it was a great and friendly place to be but as the years went by it went down hill pretty fast. It took years just to get my dishwasher, a/c unit, and thermostat repaired. I was willing to live there for that long due to the location that I enjoyed. When my upstairs neighbor moved out and left her apartment in better shape than when she moved in, she did NOT get back her deposit of $600 which was a month's rent. I was afraid of what would happen when I moved out so I paid my last month's rent to the main Manager herself to ensure that there would be no "surprises" later. She looked over my account and said because I was a very good tenant, she would be sure that I was treated fairly when it came to closing out my lease. After spending several hours of scrubbing the apartment till it gleamed, low and behold I got a BILL in the mail for $80. This was not including the deposit in which they had chosen to absorb completely. The complex called me and I asked to speak to the Manager and was not allowed to speak to her so I told the Receptionist to have her call me direct. Not only did she NOT call they sent the bill to collections. So, you tell me, after 7 years of never being late on my rent and being a good tenant, does that seem like good customer service to you?

            For the most part I had no issues with Breckenridge, but I recently had a terrible experience with the management that has led me to contemplate moving. I inquired numerous times, personally and through the phone, about lease renewal and somehow received a payment fee despite my persistent inquisitions. They refused to acknowledge any fault and continued with the fine despite it not be written anywhere and the utter omission of information on their behalf. It is difficult to support or live somewhere knowing that despite your best efforts you're liable to payments outside of your control. It's clear that the client can never be right so long as Breckenridge has the power to make you pay, even if it's not written on a lease, which further questions the legality of the situation.

              I just recently moved into Breckinridge after an extensive search for a 1 bedroom apartment in Lexington. I was hesitant as most of the reviews on this site are horror stories but financially it was the best fit. Staff: The ladies in the main office are extremely nice and helpful from viewing to move-in to everyday problems. Maintenance is quick and efficient. Apartment: It is great bang for your buck. Appliances are old but work well. Bring your own shower head as the one in my room was rather weak. Laminate (stick) tile in bathroom and kitchen, carpet throughout. Was all in good shape. I have an A2 style and plenty of space and storage. No ceiling light in bedroom though. Grounds: Advertised dog park is not really a dog park may want to walk the ground if you are expecting the typical dog park. Some owners of pets do not seem to pick up after their pets but staff is on top of it trying to track down the culprits. Pool is very nice and new fitness center looks promising. Park just down the street is amazing and close proximity to kroger as well. Parking: No assigned spots and can get quite difficult to find a spot near your building. Also visitors parking is not clearly marked. Would be nice if assigned a spot per apartment and clearly marked visitors spots. Not the greatest set up Cable/Internet:Contracted to Suite Solutions, so far no problems but I just recently moved in. I will update if severe issues with this company. So far some of the reviews seem a little unfair as the buildings are in good shape, yes it's not a five star hotel but your paying what is a very inexpensive rent.                 I moved into Breckinridge court in January of 2013. The staff was extremely accomodating from the beginning. I moved from NY so everything was done over the phone and email. They made me feel confident in my decision of moving into Breckinridge court. Everyone in the office is friendly and helpful and I have been very happy with my decision. Pros- informative and flexible staff resonable pricing clean apartment and grounds overall quiet and comfortable environment cons- not prorating overall monthly charges when move date changed to after new year. Small descrepancy, did not change my overall view or opinion.

                  The "remodel" is hideous. The colors don't go together and in fact, it's made the buildings look old and cheap (something lower income individuals would live in). Maybe they did this to match the 1970s style furnishings in the apartment. Along with the building remodel, they repaved the entire parking lot (which was badly needed.) However, now there are no lines separating parking spaces. There are little blue lines that are supposed to be a "guide" but since they are so hard to see (especially at night) people end up parking all over the place. I thought this was temporary, but it's been a few weeks and it's still the same. I thought remodels were supposed to be an improvement, but in my opinion, this one has done the complete opposite. (Silver lining: they're finally building a fitness center.) I'm so embarrassed by how crappy it is and I cannot WAIT until my lease runs out!

                    This place sucks! Moved out a few months ago after only living there for a year. repairs never ever get done! Our A.C. Went out in septemver, and leaked all over the floor. We called and called and finally got a response of: "oh, just mop up the water that has leaked" and "its september..why do you need A.C. Anyway?" thats not the point!! It NEVER got fixed despite numerous calls (they said they were ordering the part) so we lived there from sept-march (6 months) with no A.C! part of our ceiling fell throughin the bathroom, parts of the wall would chip off, the tiles were coming up from the floor, our closet doors always came off the hinges..this placeis just BAD QUALITY! their parking was always a headache, and people who dont have permits never get towed, so if you have a job where you get home late at night, be prepared to walk a good ways to your apartment. oh, and their 'dog park' is a sewer drainage area! please, just stay away unless you want to pay outrageous prices for a bad experience!

                      I have had an excellent experience with Breckinrigde. I moved from Northern Michigan and had to do everything through faxes and phone calls. The staff was extremely helpful, even accepting my volunteer work as my employment history. Every problem I've had has been addressed immediately, with care and friendliness. Repairs are made quickly. The property is extremely quiet and there are lots of trees. It is a shame that they don't offer options when it come to internet and cable, and parking is tricky in some areas, but I love it here. If location, safety, and helpful staff is important to you, this is a great place. If you care more about having new and pretty buildings, live somewhere else. I don't know why the staff has been so helpful to me compared to others.

                      I have recently moved into Breckinridge Court. From the very beginning the girls in the office were very helpful and sweet. I needed to move rather quickly and they were quick with the application process and I was able to move in the short time frame I had. They even had a welcome gift for me at the lease signing! I am also impressed with the apartment grounds. The young lady assisting me showed me the floorplan/model for a fitness center that is being built; I am looking forward to using it. Overall, this has been a great place and I would recommend these apartments to anyone :)

                        just a quick warning to the breckinridgeam user. your comments on here have had screenshots taken, and will be forwarded to leinbach corporate office via email. suite solutions is based in Kansas and has rates more than twice that of insight with half the quality [ATTENTION POTENTIAL LESSEE , INSIGHT COMMUNICATIONS IS NOT AVAILABLE ON THIS PROPERTY] No information has been distributed discussing the timeline and details of the remodel as a whole process. In addition, the perceived 'tone' of any communication had with the assistant manager has been combative and rude. [readers please refer to the previous reviews from march , ----- , and associated commentary]

                          Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Wouldn't ever consider this place again. The staff was horrible and not helpful at all. We put our application and deposit in and came out approved. They said they'd have us moved in, in 3 days. The day before our move in date after they had already told us everything was good they said we need a co signer for not having any rental history. When we asked if we could put a higher deposit or if they could raise our rent they claimed they had to speak to a manager and would call us back. 2 days later still no call back. When I called them back they said they "forgot" and would talk to the manager when they got a chance. We called back the next day and their excuse was they didn't kno it was Saturday and the manager was not in. I called again Monday and they told me it was past my move in date that my pro rate would now be higher if the manager would allow a higher a deposit. Called again the next day and they claimed their manager now would not allow us a higher deposit and since it was after 24 hours we would not get any of our money returned to us. Very unprofessional and ridiculous.

                            Absolutely horrible. I hope every prospective renters will see this and get an educated information on how bad this place is. Please talk to the Housing manager of the property BEFORE you get a lease from this apartment. This experience itself should be enough of an eye-opener to let you realize you have stumbled upon a huge rotten apple (I read the reviews of other prospective renters on this website and saw that the housing manager here is an irrational person). The leasing staff here are not accommodating at all. One day I called the leasing office and asked for their corporate number so I can talk to the corporate office about how their corporate rules are hindering the chances of prospective renters renting their apartment, the leasing office staffs assumed I will be complaining about their performance and started being defensive. I assume they were being defensive because they knew they were treating me wrong and they thought I realized. Anyways, my co-signer and I were ready to sign the document of my lease until today, I get information from the leasing office on how they are "upset" with me for contacting the corporate office. As a prospective renter, I think I have the right to contact the corporate office regarding anything I want to talk about pertaining to a property they own. Now the leasing office has gone out of their way to make the signing of my lease harder. They indirectly told me that I have to talk to the housing manager (mentioned about above) every time I call or visit the leasing office, I have to have my co-signer physically present at the leasing office when I sign my lease. I am fed up. I will not sign my lease. So long Breckinridge Court. I will be calling the corporate office about your incompetence.

The office staff doesnt know how to keep up with their computer system, nor do they have a good means of communicating with their residents which coincidentally works out to their monetary advantage.                                 I am so disappointed with Breckinridge Court Apts. When I first moved in the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, however, with so much staff turnover, they have only mastered their ability to make excuses by providing nonsensical answers. Quite recently, my cable and Internet stopped working. Thinking the issue was with the cable company, I called to have a technician come out. I was told by customer service that the Breckinridge Apts had shut off this service without notifying their tenets. I am required to work from home on certain days--imagine how excited I was when I explained to my boss that I would be unable to complete my work that night. When I called the front office to inquire about this and ask why the tenets were being forced to pay higher rates as opposed to being given the option to choose cable or dish, I was told "you do have that option, but where the bid was given to suite solutions, no other company can be used." In what world does that sound like "options"? Aside from this, dog excrement can be found everywhere! I have even seen it on the side walks. The pet owner above me has two medium dogs that are apparently in training for a triathlon. They are running and bumping furniture for hours on end at various times of the day and night. To make matters worse there is not enough parking unless you live close to the front office and where there has been so much construction there is even less space. If the complex wants to upgrade, start by fixing all the flipping potholes! Update the cabinetry and bathtubs that squeak under the slightest amount of pressure. It's enough that I have to pay more on my water bill than a single person who's gone for 12 or more hours of the day should simply because its divided among the residents. The one nice thing I can say is that they have a nice location--Kirklevington park is a quick walk down the street. My advice to perspective tenets is this: don't buy into the hype. The staff don't believe what they're selling. If they did there would not be a high turnover rate. Only move here if you want people making poor decisions that negatively affect you.

                                  I live here currently and have nothing but great things to say about Breckinridge Court. Everyone has their own experience, however mine has been wonderful up to date. The office staff are not only nice and show they care, but the ladies always try to help in any way they can. Anywhere I have lived in the past, there were always issues with maintenence coming and fixing my problem in a timely manner. That has never been an issue at Breckinridge. The only issue I have is with the parking. Sometimes I see visitors parking in the designated resident parking areas. I love being so close to the Kirklevington park. It's so conveinent for Sadee, (my dog). Even the property manager has doggie treats in her desk! She loves to stop in and visit the ladies : ) My lease is up in April and I will be signing for another year. If anyone ever asked, I would recommend these apartments to anyone!!!

                                    Words cannot even describe my hatred for this apartment. So I won't bother. Come May i am OUTTA here!!! Future tenants go with your gut if you have read the negative reviews and save yourself the headache. Goodbye Breckinridge Court you are by far the worst apartments I've ever lived in. However I must say... bugs. CONSTANTLY! In my opinion trumps all the other horrible things mentioned. I am a very clean,health conscious vegan and I do NOT leave food or open containers out. I've complained and tried everything, there are HUGE insect nests in the rusted stairs. What happened when I complained? "There's nothing we can do, if we get rid of the nests the bugs will make new ones next summer." I'm serious. HELLO?!?!! Use preventative methods! If there are this many bugs its not good or healthy...

                                      I moved in here a couple of months ago. I was reluctant as I had read reviews first, but decided it was the best deal. I love it here! I have had no issues with the office staff. The maintenance is great! They came out the same day I called in an issue with my ice maker. The location is great and price was unmatched by several other places I looked at. The only downfall is the noisy construction that is going on right now.

                                        The Management and staff of this Apartment Complex initially provided acceptable terms to my son, with regard to the rent and deposit one day, but when we went to the office to seal the deal, they changed the terms, ie., higher rent and deposit. Also brought to my attention, a seemingly unfair, if not illegal practice of requiring tennants to pay a community water bill regardless of individual consumption. This charge is divided equally among bldg tennants, even in the event of water leakage, burst pipes, etc., in occupied or empty apartments. When I questioned the staff on this, they asked if I would like to see the manager, I DID......in which the manager immediately became adversarial, rude and bascially presented a take or leave it attitude, I left it...... As a recently retired SGM of the Army with over 32 years of experience managing personnel, equipment and facilities, I can say with the upmost understanding that this manager does not comport a customer service evironment, misrepresented the terms of her apt complex and institues very deceptive and questionable business practices. STAY AWAY.................especially if your in the Military..........spread the word, I know I will.

                                          Very happy so far!

                                          I have been living in Breckinridge Courte for over 2 years and have NO complains! I love the apartment, the price is great for the space. The bathrooms look amazing!!! I think they had been recently renovated when I moved in. Before I moved in they let me check every little detail and they fixed everything I found wrong with it (which was just a couple of things). I have noticed that some reviews are very bad about either parking or the staff. But I do not agree with them. I can always find parking right outside my apt. And when my friends come to visit there is always available visitor spaces close by! And about the staff... they are also great! They fixed every little problem I encountered pretty much the same day I called them. They even retrieved lost items down the bathroom drains! All free of charge. I love this place!

                                            Wonderful Place!

                                            I moved into Breckinridge just over a year ago. I just resigned for another year. My apartment is quiet and my neighbors seem to keep to themselves. The walls aren't paper thin like a previous comment. I live on the bottom floor and never have any complaints. Occasionally there will be some loud music, but you would find that anywhere you move to. The parking doesn't seem to be a problem, but I live near the office. I have a friend that lives in the back of the property, and they said it can get crowded in late evenings. The maintenance team is always very friendly and get things done quickly. I have only had to call in for a leaky faucet, kitchen light out and a couple minor things. They were always there promptly sometimes the same day. They seem to listen to you and genuinly care for you as a person. I lived in several places before I moved to Breckinridge and have always had issues with maintenance. Coming here has been such a wondeful choice! The office staff is always very helpful. Anytime I need to call in for anything whether it's to get my rent amount or for a maintenace request they always answer the phone. They are very helpful and polite when I go up for a package in the office. Oh and another plus.....I have a little Yorkie and the property manager loves pets! She even keeps doggie treats in her desk for the dogs. I would recommend this place to my friends. The price is right for the location. The apartments might not be brand new but they do keep them clean and neat.

                                              The apartments may look clean when you mice in but the walls aren't really that color of eggshell. The office staff are rude to everyone whether you pay on time or late. The management doesn't have the ability to tell you a straight answer and it's like talking to a attorney in a court of law. The maintiance is horrid. Their solution to fixing something is either not ever showing up to work on it or hiding the damages with patches. I lived there for two years because I didn't have the large amount of money the require to break the lease. Forget about your deposit because if you don't leave the apartment better than when you moved in they take it and say its for damages. If you stay out past 5pm or go anywhere you might as well park at the front office because they don't tow or have space for the tenants to park. All the walls in the apartment are paper thin and you can hear your neighbors breathing. In front of some of the apartments are little dips that hold water and flood into the apartments when it rains hard. People tried to kick in my door and broke the front door frame and they refused to fix it. The front lights the illuminate the walkways never had light bulbs that were working.

                                                No New Dog Park

                                                The complex was relatively clean and the staff was nice when I went to view this complex recently. However, I was excited to see the advertised "brand new dog park" that doesn't exist. The area they claim to be a dog park is really just a water retention area. There's even drains and cement at the bottom of the "pit" and there is no fence. When I was asked why they called his a dog park, I was told it was just a place people could go to let their dogs use the bathroom but they still had to obey leash laws. If you're expecting a fenced in, flat area to safely let your dog off leash like I was, you will be very disappointed.
