I would just like to say that Breckinridge Court has done a complete turnaround! Someone bought the complex and hired new and reliable maintenance crew! The people who have been hired to work in the office as well as the maintenance crew are so unbelievably nice! These apartments have underwent a major 3 million dollar remodel! They are installing a gym which I can't wait to try out! We now have all new stainless steel appliances, they're replacing ugly fixtures and repaving the parking lot. The apartments themselves are going under construction and they look much better and are much more safe. The piping was replaced and words cannot express my gratitude for what they are doing! I would like to retract my review from earlier and say that the new ownership have really stepped up and have fixed everything I have hated about this place! I am so happy with the changes and have signed another year lease because other than everything working poorly which is now fixed we were happy here. We were going to move this June but now were staying!! Thank you Breckinridge Court for fixing up the apartments!!!

Disappointing!
When I first moved to Lexington I looked at these apartmnents, they were well maintained and clean. I've lived there for a year now and I've moved out. Noise problems, parking problems, poor ground maintenance (stairs are unsafe, loose treads and railings keep breaking), bugs, and now that I've moved out I can tell they are overpriced for what you get. Lighting is horrible, the stairs are very dangerous at night. I agree with the other reviewer who mentioned office staff is nice but inexperienced, lots of turnover. I moved in with a special rate of $419, and my rent was going to increase to $449 if I stayed. Water bill is shared by the building, so watch out! Some were way more than what a single person's water bill should be.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!!
This is one of the worst places to rent from in Lexington! They will gouge you for every cent and over charge you on rent EVERY MONTH! Try calling their corporate office-918-743-2100. Taylor the receptionist will be extremely rude and hang up on you. And if you want to speak to a supervisor, FORGET IT. Donna Boyd, the supposed boss, refuses to accept your calls. Unless she picks up Taylor's phone and pretends to be stupid (does she really need to pretend?) and talk over you and then proceed to hang up on you. FOUR PHONE CALLS TO SOLVE A PROBLEM and I was hung up on THREE times! Really?? The property manager is an invalid who attempts to condescend with her inbred ramblings. This is a horrible company. Do not give your money to them. Parking? HORRIBLE. If I get home later than 10:00pm, I have to park 3 blocks away. Noise? Walls are paper thin and the property manager does nothing to reduce the disturbance. Grounds? They are fine if you like wading through college kids' vomit. Safety? Oh sure, if I ignore the gang that parties outside my bedroom window. Construction? Not a problem if you love the sound of hammers at 6:00am. Maintenance? My window fell in and shattered all over the bedroom floor. Yes, you read that right. FELL IN AND SHATTERED. How long before it was fixed? HA! Still not fixed. It's been 5 days. Staff?? ENOUGH SAID! WORST STAFF EVER! Rude rude rude rude and don't ask them for help, they are temp workers who don't care about anyone but themselves. Again, I will mention Taylor the receptionist. Don't even talk to her. I would say not to talk to Donna Boyd either, but she doesn't give a crap about residents. She accepts no phone calls. No wonder people never renew their leases here. Don't even think about living here. You will regret it. Taylor, Donna Boyd, and the wretched property manager are poor excuses for human beings. Overall, STAY AWAY FROM THIS AWFUL PLACE!

Awesome Apartment!
My fiance and I moved into Breckinridge a month ago, and we love it here! Our last apartment in Lexington was a complete nightmare. It looked decent, but it was a complete dump. :( However, once we moved to Breckinridge our living situation improved 10 fold. Everything is clean, bug free, and decently constructed. Repairs to the grounds and your apartment are made fairly quickly. For example, I reported a loose plug in and someone was at my apartment to fix the issue within a few hours. The staff are also friendly and care about you having a good living environment. It's relatively quite, and Breckinridge is located in a safe and nice area of town, just off of Tates Creek. I would highly recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking for a good place to live in Lexington for a decent price.

Clean, Quiet, Affordable
Breckinridge Court is in a great part of town. The grounds are well taken care of and the quality of tenants is higher than average. My fiance and I live on the 3rd floor and it's extremely quiet. I sleep like a baby. The rent is affordable and reasonable, especially when they're running a special. The office staff is professional and helpful. We've not had any maintenance issues. All in all, Breckinridge Court is a hidden jewel and possibly the best apartment complex in Lexington!

Don't Even Think About Living Here!!
Wish I would never moved in this place. The office staff is nice and fairly professional until after you sign the lease. They are inexperienced and After that, don't expect much from them. Employee turnover is great. Maintenance is slow to respond. The place is dated, stairs are crumbling, sliding door to the deck will not lock and they won't replace the door and claim the lock is just hard to fasten, kitchen cabinet doors are nearly falling off, leaks in the ceiling and places on the ceiling of past leaks. After I moved in I discovered the carpet had fleas. It's just one thing after another! The rent is high for what you get and they'll get you for money any way they can. Parking is crowded. I think everybody (but me) in this place has a dog (some really big ones). A lot of barking. One tenant has two hounds that howl!! I will be moving out as soon as my lease is up; maybe before.

run far away ... in the opposite direction
In terms of construction, this place is falling apart. You'll find water leaking into your apartment from the floor above. If you like your upstairs neighbor's dishwasher leak into your apartment, their bathtub leak into yours, and their clogged toilet leak into your bathroom, then this is the place for you. The bathtubs are made out of a really shoddy material that creaks loudly the entire time you or one of your neighbors is taking a shower. Ice and snow constantly accumulated outside our front door and the building landing in the winter, making it dangerous to walk. The staff in the leasing office behave like they hate their jobs and are irritated with their tenants. You ll be lucky if you can get them on the phone when you call. Your call will almost always go to voice-mail which they never return. Noise is a serious problem. The construction on these apartments is so poor, you'll be able to hear your neighbors ALL THE TIME, especially if you live on the first or second floor. You'll know when they're having s**, when they're using the bathroom, and when their cellphone rings. Pros: The maintenance staff is excellent. I cannot say enough good things about them and their professionalism. The apartments are near Kirklevington Park, so great for walking and for dogs.

DO NOT LIVE HERE
I knew after 6 months that i had piked the wrong apartment complex. I couldn't afford to move after my first year there, was too lazy to move after my second year and my lease was not renewed after my third year! Why? Retaliation. I complained too much about all the dog poop on the premises, teh garbage that they never picked up, the fact that they didn't clean up snow and ice well or in a timely fashion. Thus i fell on the ice and asked them to pay my doctor bills and missed work hours. They agreed to pay it, did not agree to admit they were liable and promptly told me they would not be renewing my lease. I was planning on moving anyhow. The landscapers do a terrible job and obviously have dull tools. The management changed 3 times in that three years, the office staff four times, and the maintenance at least 5 times. they were always charging me more money saying i hadn't paid enough of the ever increasing water bill or they were giving me credits saying I paid too much and then demanding I use my credit right away or I would lose it. I never ever paid my rent late but they did throw away one of my rent checks by accident. The last month I was there I forgot to put my check in the slot before going out of town for fourth of July weekend and paid it on the evening of the 4th and they charged me $40 and made me get a money order!!!!!! The newest manage is very rude and has no idea how customer service works. Very few people stay at the place for more than a year. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

its ok
It is ok for a short period (less than a year) but I consider it expensive compare with other options around the neighborhood if you stay more than one year. the rent increased excesively after my lease, it went from 499 with a lease to 610 on a per month basis. They dont want to help you if you pass the lease time. ON the bright side, it is clean, close to a big park if you enjoy running, the neighbors are nice.

I hate this place
One bedroom $449 a month...good deal but not worth it. There is a pile of dog crap outside my aparment on the 2nd floor walkway and no one will clean it up. I have talked to the Aparment Management and was told it would get taken care of...it has not. It has been a week. And I'm not talking about a little bit of poop. I'm talking about someone's dog has used this spot many many times. I took a picture but you can't see all of it because it has now snowed over top of the poop. It is absolutely disgusting and Management does not seem to care. Also the walls in this place are so thin that if my neighbor takes a crap, I can hear it. Do not live here if you can help it.

Take your time deciding to live here...
The parking lot is a disaster, the stairways are crumbling and as for the apartments themselves, very dated. The office staff changes about every 6 months so if you talk to someone about ANY amendment to your lease GET IT IN WRITING! The location is horrible, as anyone who has driven tates creek at reading rd will be all too familiar. I have lived here several years, so I dont want to sound like I hate it, but it is not without problems. The apartments are hit or miss, some are really nice some are a bit run down. And the turnover rate is high and it seems like every neighbor i get has a big, loud dog. They allow just about any breed, any size, and The one bedrooms are way to small (i think) for big dogs. Oh and dont forget the free wake up call when the garbage truck comes, anywhere between 6am and 7, it sounds like war!!!! That really sucks. The prices keep going up, and at this point I dont think they balance with dating of the apartments.

Breckinridge is cool; Grass is not always greener on the other side
I currently have two apartments, one at Breckinridge and another at Stoney Falls. I am moving out of Breckinridge into Stoney Falls, I gave myself about two weeks of having both apartments so that I could make the move a little at a time. I am moving out of Breckinridge because I found a place that was just a little bit cheaper ($20.00 a month) and I decided that it was worth the savings to move, No, I was wrong. I never realized how hard the staff tried in fixing the problems I had there until I filled my move-in inspection sheet up with problems from Stoney Falls and I have been there over a week and nothing is fixed!! This is crazy. Breckinridge always fixed everything within a timely manner and I never had a problem but was told that if it was not fixed within 48 hours I think, then they would give you free rent. Furthermore, my last day at Breckinridge is the 26th of July and they are having a pool party with free Beer, mixed drinks, food, door prizes and a DJ. I look at it like its my going away party. LOL! They do things like this a lot, its pretty cool. I only signed a lease at Stoney Falls for 6 months and I know forsure that when I move out I am going to move back to Breckinridge. I really just love it here and I am sad to say that I am leaving. Hope this helps everyone. Goodluck!

Love It !!!!
I have lived at several apartment communities thoughout the years, but I have to say this is the best! The office team is always so very friendly even when I stop by the office just to pick up a package. The maint. team is always on top of my work orders, however I have only called in 2 in the 3 years I have lived here. I would highly recommend Breckinridge Court!

I liked it at first...
All was well for about oh... 2 weeks and then I realized why it's so cheap. Problem after problem (which all have been fixed) but still. This crazy amount of things should be handled before someone moves in. Cars getting broken into like it's a freaking epidemic... There's no security OR cameras to record the break-ins either. Poor lighting at night makes it very easy for break-ins to occur as well. If it wasn't so cheap I would be out of here as we speak, breaking the lease legally, which is not hard. If it gets any worse I will handle that. I however have not had any " problems " with office staff though. Oh and... The water bills are freaking outrageous because you have to SHARE the bills with the entire building which means if someone has 5 billion babies and they do a lot of laundry and dishes... Guess who gets to pay for their water bill? yay.........

Rude, deceitful staff-- DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!
My husband and I made an appointment to tour these apartments a couple weeks ago; over the phone, the leasing agent asked for our move in date and we specifically told her a date that was approximately 6 weeks from that day. When we arrived to tour the apartments, we again told her that we did not wish to move in for another 5.5 weeks. At the end of our tour, she then pressured us to put down a deposit, stating that if we waited, we would lose the rate, which at that point was $699/month plus one month free. We had intended to prorate that to get a monthly discount, making each month $640, which we told her. We also told her that we weren't set on either of the available apartments that she had shown us; I asked if we had to specifically select one of those two to put the deposit down on. She said that we did have to, but that it was just a formality- that we could change the apartment if/when another that we preferred became available, which she said would occur mid June. Since our move in date was not until the end of June, I did not see a problem. She said that putting down the deposit ensured that we would get the month free special. So, we put down the deposit. Thinking that we had until the end of June to sign a lease and turn in our application, we did not call again for about a week. Then, my husband received a call from their office stating that we had lost the special because we had only had five days from the day the deposit was put down to sign a lease and only 14 from the day the deposit was put down to move in! This was absolutely the first that we had heard of any of this. Obviously, the 14 days to move in was 4 weeks sooner than the move in date that we had given to them multiple times- both before and during our tour. The leasing agent refused to refund our deposit, but did say that we could still have the special if we moved in by June 1st, four weeks before our specified move in date. This essentially means that in order to receive a month free, we would have to move in a month sooner than we wanted, which ends up saving us no money whatsoever. Additionally, the reason why we had specified that we were not able to move in until the end of June is because my husband is in the military and will be out of state on duty until the end of June. I'm a tiny girl and could not even begin to move everything without his help. Additionally, the point of living there was to save money; therefore, it would be counterproductive for me to hire a moving company. The office would not yield on this matter. We feel deceived and cheated. We have now lost our $200 deposit to this lying company because we would far prefer to lose $200 than to be stuck putting up with their crap for the next year. If this is how they are treating us before we even move in, I don't even want to imagine how they treat those who are already locked in with a lease. If you value any sense of decency, do not live here-- there are no decent people working here!!!

Best Place I have ever lived!
I have lived at several apartment communities in the past few years, and I must say that Breckinridge Court is by the far the greatest. The office staff is always so pleasant and friendly. They have called me a few times to make sure that problems I called in were taken care of and too see if there was anything else they could do. They always have a smile on their face and stop what ever they are doing to say Hi and welcome me into the office. Anytime I have ever called in a maintenance problem, they would always send out someone to fix it the same day. You never have to worry about stuff being broken and not getting taken care of. The maintenance staff is always on top of things and address you by name like a normal human being and not some problem that they don't feel like dealing with. The grounds is always well kept and very beautiful. They have parties for their residents which I think is really nice. I definitely recommend this place and plan on staying here for many years.

Not sure what everyone is talking about
I lived in an apartment at Breckinridge Court for 3 years while in law school. I'm not sure what everyone else is talking about. I never had any major problems. The apartment wasn't some luxurious penthouse, but I definitely thought it was fine, well kept and clean. Whenever I had a problem the office staff was always helpful, although I had few problems that needed attention. The most major problem I had while there was with the water heater. I noticed a smell coming from the closet where the water heater was located. I looked in the pan the heater was sitting on and noticed standing water. Now I'm not sure how long it was like that because I had just noticed the smell. The next morning I called the office when it opened about 8am, and I told them about the problem. I went to my one class and got back home about 10am. When I got home, they had already called someone, the person had already removed the bad water heater, had installed the new one and was wiping up the floor when I walked in. I was shocked by how fast it was. One other problem I had was the garbage disposal. Something went wrong with it, and it was repaired quickly as soon as a part that was ordered arrived. As far as a high turnover, well many tenants are college students. College students move in and out of apartments all the time. They often never stay put for very long and move when the lease is up, but I don't think people were leaving because of problems. In the building I was in, I know that at least 4 apartments on my side of the building had the same tenants the entire time I was there and they were there before I was. It is located in a good neighborhood, although I do believe one person was robbed in the parking lot late one night (we were notified of the incident immediately by office staff). The parking lot is well lit, not worn out as some may say, and has plenty of parking (now you may not always get the best spot, but I never had a problem finding a parking spot that wasn't far away. The grounds are in good shape as well, and there are speakers throughout the complex that warn of bad weather. There is also a nearby park that I enjoyed for walking. Probably my biggest complaint was that one set of tenants that lived above me were loud and had people over more than I would have liked, but frankly that is a problem you can have in any apartment. One other issue that I didn't care for was when the office staff let people in my apartment for spraying bugs, which was part of the general maintenance in order to prevent a problem. I didn't like the idea that the office was letting third parties inside my apartment without walking through the apartment with them. I only found this out when I just happened to be home one day when the lady spraying knocked on the door before coming in. I'm not sure if she had a key or someone from the office was unlocking doors right before she went in, but I know she sprayed the apartments without any office staff with her. I would definitely say I did not have a bad experience while living here and would recommend it to other single people, young married couples and college students.

High turnover rate for tenants
My wife and I have lived at breckinridge for 11 months. All I can say is our lease couldnt had ended sooner!! Breckinridge Court has the worst staff ever assembled. We live on the bottom floor and the tenants above across and beside have all moved within 11 months. There are 2 vacancies just in our side of 1 building only because the third vacancy was just filled by a new tenant. We recieved ONE water bill the entire time we have lived here. Our monthly rent has ranged from 640ish to 670ish because they make you pay them your cable and water bill included to the 589 monthly price (1 BEDROOM NO FIREPLACE) then considering you dont recieve a water bill you have to make a guess at your total. Better hope you guess right if you are any amount short and I mean 2 and 3 dollars they will put notices on your door everyday saying they will not execpt your check until you pay the remainder of your blance which would force them to start the eviction process. I promise you this has happen to me about 5 times when I imformed the office and called the number they provided to have the bill sent to me it was no help. Why should I have to call if I am paying them every month that should be their job? Rent is due by the 1st and late by the 3rd of every month after that you are charged a 35 dollar late fee and I think a 8 dollar per day fee afterwords. The grounds are kept clean but it seems like there is no money put into upkeep the parking lot is filled with large potholes and you will notice some other small things that could def use attention throughout the complex. The apartment I leased had no baseboards so I was promised they would be added. 5 calls and 11 months later im still without. The imatation tile in the bathroom is nice looking but looks like it was layed by a 5 year old if you look at the edges youll see what I mean. I know people like to say there is only negitive feedback added to these sites but I have lived at other two other simular apartment buildings without any problems. If you disregard this review and lease an apartment at Breckinridge Court make sure you get anything promised to you in writing! I promise you will be glad you did.

so far so good
I have been here for about 3 weeks now, and so far so good. I am moving here from augusta arms apartments and for those of you who know augusta arms this is a huge improvement. So no complaints yet, and as far as the waffle house and thorntons being right by us, and there being noise or whatnot late at night, haven't heard a peep. This place is soo much safer than my previous apartments so I am happy. No place is perfect, so if your looking for that your going to be consistantley let down remember that. One more thing if you think any place your living is bad check out Augusta Arms, just drive by if you dare. You might be thankful when you get back.

Sub-par apartments, lousy office staff.
The Good: - The grounds are kept clean. Trash is almost non-existent, trees and bushes are trimmed back, the pool area is pristine, and the buildings themselves look nice. This isn't just a happy accident--you can tell that serious effort has been put into keeping the complex up to snuff. - I've had several friends live at Breckinridge Court and from what I've seen all of the appliances and amenities are up-to-date and in great shape. We've never had a problem with our plumbing, electricity, or kitchen appliances. - Rent is fairly priced considering what you get. You could definitely find a better value, but you could also do much worse. - Most of the tenants seem amiable and easy to get along with. Having lived around campus I can definitely say that the general noise and activity level is manageable, though there is a lot of weird traffic (which I'll cover later) from surrounding areas through the parking lot after dark. The Bad: - Parking. It's next to impossible to find a space after five in the afternoon. The closest visitor lot is tiny and usually filled up by tenants who are too rude to realize that non-permit cars (like my sister's or my roommate's girlfriend) get towed. There are several cars by our building that have LITERALLY been in the same spot for the two years we've been living here, including what looks like a show car and a rusted-out hulk of a Cadillac that's been double parked since I moved in. - The maintenance staff. Basic repairs are typically pretty prompt, but we've had several encounters with grounds staff wandering around our apartment "looking for problems" that we didn't phone in. We've come home to find work orders for apartments on the other side of the complex (none of them even similar to our apartment number). I've heard "sorry, I've got the wrong apartment" enough times that it makes me slightly uncomfortable. As a bonus, we've both come home to find our door unlocked at least a dozen times. - The location. This part of Tates Creek road--for anybody not familiar with it--is really hit or miss. One block may be completely quiet and safe and the next extremely sketchy. We were unfortunate enough to land on the end of the apartment complex closest to the adjacent Waffle House and Thornton's gas station. On any given night, 'round about one AM, the noise starts. Screaming, fist fights, and a competition to see who can crank their system up loud enough to break our windows out are all pretty common. I've seen the cops at both locations more times than I can count, once for a stabbing around Thanksgiving and once for what looked like (I kid you not) a race fight in the Thornton's parking lot. The best part is that, consequently, you can have a safari on your patio and watch sketchy people come out of the bushes, walk across the complex, and then disappear into the night. In Breckinridge Court's defense, they can't pick the apartments up and move them somewhere else. The situation has also improved since more police officers have either moved into or are parking their cars at Breckinridge Court Apartments. It is, however, still a problem, especially considering I work late hours and have class in the morning. THE UGLY: - This is where I really have a problem with Breckinridge Court and why I won't be renewing my lease when it expires. The office has consistently since week one treated my roommate and I like an unwanted and unwelcome burden. It started the winter after we moved in when our stairwell was consistently iced over and it took multiple phone calls (and one instance of me falling down the stairs) to get rock salt put down. The office staff was polite during the first call, but increasingly rude after the second and third calls. This was a basic request and should have been tended to before it became a problem, especially considering that our neighbor on the third floor was a single mom with two kids. We've also had our rent "misplaced" more than once, which wouldn't be a problem save for the fact that the office charged us a boatload of late fees for their mistake. Two friends living in the complex had the same problem and were subsequently treated like delinquent tenants for not paying their "late fees." The first time it happened it took an eviction posting (with no notice that they couldn't find our rent) SEVENTEEN DAYS into the month before they discovered their goof--"Oops, we put it in the pile for that other apartment." Maybe we've had bad luck, or maybe the same maintenance guys who can't find the right apartment are also taking care of the books in the leasing office. Who knows? The list stretches on. I've had packages lost in the office, I've had a noise complaint hung on my door when both my roommate and I were gone for a WEEK (again, maybe maintenance was being too loud), and the only consistent response has been, "YOU'RE THE PROBLEM, NOT US, AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT." I've worked in various facets of the service industry for years and I know that it's much easier to keep an existing customer than it is to pull in a new one. My roommate and I are both students in our early twenties who bust our butts working forty hours a week (not much time to be horrible tenants, eh?) and we're treated like irresponsible children whose business they can afford to lose. In that regard they've done a GREAT job.

Water Water Water
I lived in Breckinridge for one year back in 2007. Three months after I moved in, water from the bathtub in the apartment above me began leaking into my bathroom. The next week, a grounds worker left the water on the outside of my building which caused 2 inches of water to accumulate on my bathroom and bedroom closet floor. Since it takes about 24 hours for maintenance to come out, I took every single one of my towels and soaked up the water. Six hours later, the water was back. This eventually caused mold to accumulate on the back of my closet wall and ended up ruining my wedding dress. A month later, the tenant above me moved out but did not completely shut off the water to her washer. Water drained down into my hall closet and saturated my dining room carpet for about a week. At first I didn t know where the water was coming from, all I knew was that my carpet was wet. By the time I discovered the cause of the problem, my coats along with everything else in my hall closet was covered in mold. The maintenance guy was very nice; he soaked up some of the water and shut off the pipes in the apartment above me. When I spoke to the property manager, all she had to offer me was an apology. I was very upset because she didn t seem to care at all. I ended up contacting the management company and was transferred to another apartment. I moved out when my lease expired six months later. What angers me the most about my experience at Breckinridge was not the flooding but the lack of sympathy from the manager. When I asked her for some type of compensation for ruining all of my towels and some of my clothes, she said I could have put the towels (which were soaked in sewer water from the outside of my building) in the washer and they would help me with some of my dry cleaning bills if I brought them the receipts. I m happy to be out of there!

Not a very good place to live
I am a current resident, and I have been unhappy with the place since we moved in. The office staff is a major problem -- they are completely incompetent. From the very beginning of the lease, I have had problems getting them to respond to maintenance requests; I waited two weeks to get my washer connection fixed, and 6-7 for them to repair the exterior lights, which left our building's common area pitch black at night. Additionally, the complex allows large dogs like pit bulls and Chows, which are banned in other complexes, and are definitely a problem. They do not have a courtesy officer, and there has been at least one robbery in the parking lot. A couple of weeks ago, the office provided access to my apartment to someone who was not on the lease, and did not either a) ask for proof of identity, or b) call me first. They also do not provide notice of routine maintenance work, and on more than one occasion the maintenance guy has tried to let himself into my apartment which I was at home. The area is not particularly nice, the staff have no clear idea about who is living in the apartments, and the apartments' interiors are dingy and cheaply outfitted. I would not recommend living here.

Unhappy Tenant
I lived at Breckinridge Court for 2 years. The quality of the apartments are ok. All the appliances are old, but aside from that the aesthetics are fine. The worst part is the maintanence. I had to harass the staff in order to get a leak in my water heater repaired.(I waited a month). My air conditioner stopped working at the beginning of winter and they basically told me they wouldn't repair it. When I moved in I was told there would be a courtesy officer on site, however suddenly there was no courtesy officer and no one was notified of that change. I had extremely noisy neighbors my first year and made several noise complaints. I recieved the noise complaint that I filed on my door, directed toward my apartment number. I still believe they never recieved a notice. Recently our power went out after office hours. The maintanence people were terrible. Since it's an apartment complex, I assumed that they would call the power company in order to have it repaired. There response was "I can't fix it, not my problem." During the winter the steps to my apartment complex completely freeze. After falling myself, I called the office to see if maintanence could come and salt it down. I waiting two hours for them to respond and called again. Another two hours passed and the steps were never salted. That shows an extreme disregard for the safety and wellbeing of their residents. I can say a few good things about this place. The staff are always friendly to me, though they're disorganized. It's in a good area of town, nice neighborhoods aroung it and it's close to a park. Don't live here. The quality of the place doesn't reflect the amount of money they charge to live there.

The staff, in particular the manager, is a mightmare. Extremely unfriendly, not helpful at all. And she doesn't understand the policies of Breckinridge herself. Doesn't know the difference between a 60 day notice and a two month notice (which in July/August makes a two day difference) and kicked me out of the office when I tried to explain it to her!!! Apartment not very much up-to-date. Plus, we had a lot of trouble with animals on the attic. They once almost chewed through the wall and came into our apartment. The maintance people don't know at all how to handle that problem. And the manager apparantly won't hire professionals.
