Maintenance Workers Steal From Renters
I lived in this community and would never recommend it to anyone. When I lived there the maintenance staff entered my apartment on several occasions without my knowledge or permission. I complained to management but they could care less. They have the ability to enter your apartment and did so whenever they wanted. I know on one occasion that they were in my apartment when I was not home an item of mine turned up missing. Each day before I left home I would stick a piece of paper in the door to detect when they were in my apartment. In Maryland it should be illegal for management to enter your apartment for no emergency reason. But apparently in the lease agreement it says they have the right to do so. And they did. However, the lease also says you have the right to enjoy your space in peace. How can you have enjoyment and peace when these thieves can come into your apartment whenever they like? I hated the place and advise everyone to stay away from it!

Good and bad
I was fairly happy with these apartments at first. I was able to overlook the ancient appliances and poor insulation in favor of the good value, nice grounds, gated community, and seemingly responsive maintenance staff. But I've been having progressively greater problems, the latest being mice. They supposedly did some sort of pest control a week after I called, plus I put down a bunch of traps, but the mice came back a few weeks later. So obviously it is a problem with the building or grounds, not an isolated incident. Plus they aren't in good shape, and my BGE bills are very high (poor insulation and old, inefficient appliances) compared with people who live in much larger places. Every place has its problems, and I've generally been happy here. But I'm ready for someplace new.

Falls Village is a relatively good deal for the money in this area. The only major setbacks are mice (I once caught three of them in a span of two hours) and thin walls and ceilings. But if you happen to have quiet neighbors (or if you are lucky enough to have no direct neighbors) and a tolerance for small rodents, I would recommend this complex.
Other disappointments include the general age and upkeep of the building and apartments--appliances are old and ugly, carpet in buildings are falling apart.
Positives are location, gated community access, parking, and price.

A Good deal
This complex is a really good deal for a lot of reasons. With a one bedroom for 664 and up, there are a lot of reasons to consider living here. For that price, to have a pool and a fitness center in the complex, to have an included microwave and ESPECIALLY your own in-unit washer and dryer, is really a good deal. Perhaps the best thing of all is the location - it's a great area that's still within the city and so leaves you within 10-15 minutes of anywhere in Baltimore, but is also just off a main street that takes you out to the beltway in 3 minutes or so. You can't beat it for location if you like quiet nature but also accessibility. The negative review for the property clearly came out of someone frustrated with the amount of noise they experienced and it's true that the walls are thin. Basically it's no problem unless you happen to be that 1 in 100 person who gets an awful disrespectful neighbor. I have found that everyone here is very friendly and has a 'you scratch my back, i'll scratch yours' philosophy - everyone wants their peace and quiet and thinks of their neighbors as they themselves want to be thought of in kind. If possible, see your actual unit and try to meet the neighbors so you can make sure they're not disrespectful.

Good and economical
I have stayed in this apartment for a year and I absolutely love it. The management and maintenance are both great. I have always received prompt response to any of my problems. The rent is very affordable as it comes with great amenitied like a washer/dryer in the apt, swimming pool and a good fitness center. You wont be disappointed with your move here.

Very safe. Reasonable rent. Good maintenance. Nice landscape.
The area is very quiet and safe although it is technically within the city border. The rent is probably one of the cheapest in the Mt. Washington area, and the overall quality of the community is quite good. The unit is not so big but has plenty of storage space and well-equipped (a dish washer, a microwave, a laundry machine, and a dryer). Parking area has secure gate and well-lit. Many trees make a very nice landscape. Buildings are old but well-kept and clean. Office staff is efficient in handling her business. Maintenance service has improved greatly last year. They do their work immediately and their attitude is nice, too. Noise can be problematic depending on the neighbor’s life style. To live here without a car would be difficult.

Really, Really Bad
I´m not writing this review for revenge, but to warn others that you should look elsewhere. I´d go into detail, but just take my advice, spend your money on someplace else. Probably the worst thing of all is that the walls are PAPER thin. I´ve lived the past ten years in dorms, apartments, townhomes all across the country and nowhere have I found a place so terrible.

Good apartment!
This is a great place to live and the neighborhood is friendly. It´s not as large as I like (the bathroom is ridiculously small with almost no counter space), but the friendly staff and convenient location make up for it.

Pretty nice
a great neighborhood if you have a dog. close to 83 and 695 and the metro. but they recently lost their best maintenance staff because they overworked them and were really awful during the blizzard of ´03. and the apartments have dishwashers, microwaves, and washer/dryers and pretty good closet space. parking is only a problem in the highest occupancy areas some of the time. the fitness center is small but adequate, the pool was resurfaced this year, and the gates work most of the time. They do raise the rent a lot every year, though. And you can hear music/loud sporting events/or loud bed banging through the walls. But the neighborhood is great and really safe.
