Honestly I love the Renaissance Townhome Apartments. Caring and understanding people. Not malicious. The office crew skilled young professional women who can and will help you. The maintenance crew, they tend to have a listening ear and will try their very best to solve/resolve issues as quickly and safely as possible.

A Nightmare Experience at The Renaissance Club My experience at The Renaissance Club Apartments has been a complete disaster since day one. I moved in on August 12, 2025, and have been met with a shocking level of unprofessionalism, neglect, and what I can only describe as uninhabitable living conditions. Financial & Move-In Chaos Before I even received my keys, there were financial discrepancies. The community portal failed to apply my $100 holding fee to the move-in cost. The community manager, Alana Peace, assured me the correct amount was $749 and that the portal was wrong. However, on move-in day, the portal still demanded $849. Alana's suggestion to get a money order with a credit card was impossible, forcing me to overpay with the promise of a reimbursement that, a week later, has yet to materialize despite my follow-ups. Move-in day was equally chaotic. Despite calling ahead, the manager was absent. The staff on-site was completely unhelpful, repeating, "I am not the manager; it is not my responsibility." I was not given keys to amenities like the pool or gym and had to chase the office for them days later, but was still unable to obtain the gym key. No welcome information or details about services like valet trash were provided. To top it off, the first thing I saw in the parking lot was a car with its windows smashed in?a deeply unsettling welcome to my new "home." Misleading Advertising & A Filthy Apartment The advertising for this complex is deceptive. The website boasts a 24-hour fitness center, but a sign on the door states it closes at midnight. The quote I received promised a free You-fit Premium membership, which the staff later admitted has never been an actual offer. The condition of the apartment itself was appalling. It was clear no real cleaning had been done. I spent my first five days scrubbing through layers of dust and grime on every surface. The kitchen cabinets, refrigerator (which had a broken shelf and a foul smell), floors, and carpets were all dirty. The bathroom tub and toilet were filthy. Beyond the dirt, there were maintenance issues everywhere: scratches on walls and doors, a non-functional stove burner, a leaking bathroom faucet, and a constantly running toilet. Severe Health & Safety Concerns Most alarmingly, the apartment is infested with pests. I have been bitten all over my arms and legs by what appears to be fleas and potentially bed bugs, in addition to seeing spiders and ants. I have been unable to sleep comfortably, and my attempts at pest control have not solved the problem. This is a serious health hazard. The air quality is another major concern. The HVAC filter was disgustingly dirty, looking as if it hadn't been changed in years. The furnace itself is caked in a thick layer of dust. I have a history of lung issues, and the poor air quality is a significant threat to my health. When I finally got a maintenance person to look at the leaking faucet, he initially refused to even check the filter, stating it wasn't on his work order from Alana. Furthermore, there is a strong, musty smell from the washer/dryer area, where a damp, molding mat suggests an old leak was never properly addressed. I am paying for a safe and habitable home, and The Renaissance Club has failed to provide even the most basic standards of one. The management's lack of communication, failure to resolve critical issues, and the dangerous condition of the apartment are unacceptable. I would strongly advise any prospective renters to look elsewhere.

I've lived here for three years. Overall, it's been a good experience, but some improvements could be made to the community's amenities to improve the overall living experience here. But it's a very safe and pleasant community!

The office staff has been respectful, and helpful. The cleaning cre have been helpful and consistent. I would like to see more community activities, a space to rent or have community events. I would love to have a playground to take my grandchildren. I love the easy access to pharmacy, medical services, shopping, and eateries.

So far my experience has been good and I have met some really amazing people that live in the community. Which I am thankful for. My son loves the pool and the kids he have met as well. I pray that things don't change.

The community is generally safe and clean. It took almost a year before I had access to the gym. The appliances in the listing description did not match the actual apartment and management never corrected it. The trash service is inconsistent and maintenance doesn't seem to know what they are doing.

I have been dissatisfied with the maintenance, but Alana was professional throughout the entire ordeal. I wish the maintenance process was more streamlined. The community itself is nice and very quiet.

A Series of Unfortunate Maintenance Events
ince moving into Renaissance Club Apartments on December 6, 2024, it has been a nonstop cycle of maintenance issues, poor communication, and lack of urgency from management. The HVAC system has never worked properly. In the winter, the same HVAC specialist came out and said nothing could be done because they “couldn’t see the issue.â€ I reported several times, and they just kept sending the same people without fixing anything. Now it’s summer, and the unit is blowing hot air. It’s 102 degrees outside, and inside a 750 sq. ft. apartment with no central air, it’s unbearable. I’ve reported this issue since January after receiving a $700+ BGE bill, and still, nothing has been properly resolved. The leasing office gave us two portable units as a temporary fix over month ago, and now we’re being told to continue waiting while the issue drags on with no end in sight. There is also a persistent, foul sewer smell throughout the unit that has not been addressed, despite promises for maintenance to come. When I mentioned that my daughter has asthma and asked why this wasn’t repaired back in March, kiona became short, rude, and dismissive. Instead of taking accountability or showing concern for our health and safety, I was brushed off. It’s clear that tenant well-being is not a priority. When we moved in, the bathtub wouldn’t drain. A maintenance tech told me to use a trash bag to stop it up—which is completely unreasonable. After multiple follow-ups, they finally fixed it. The refrigerator failed, the microwave was missing parts that were reportedly taken and given to another resident, and a technician even tried to force his way into the apartment after I told him my 12-year-old daughter was home I sent via my ring camera to Alana. Also my package was stolen I attempted to add to the resident website however the office did not allow it . I asked to be transferred to another unit without all of these issues. Alana, the property manager, responded that transferring me wouldn’t resolve the maintenance issues in the home—essentially telling me I’m just stuck while they take their time addressing the problems. Meanwhile, I’m left living in an unsafe, unhealthy, and uncomfortable space. At this point, I’m afraid to stay here. The leasing office refuses to take real responsibility, and I fear I’ll continue to receive outrageous utility bills while living with broken systems. We’ve been more than patient. What should have been a fresh start has turned into a stressful, disappointing experience. Until this property is better managed and tenants are treated with the respect and urgency we deserve, I cannot recommend this community.

Things have changed drastically since I originally moved in years ago. Storage has been diminished, the grounds are not kept as beautifully as when I first moved in and now dumpsters are on the premises inviting rodents and animals from wooded areas.,

It has been fine aside from the installation of the ecobee. 1st no heat in the middle of winter now no cool air in the summer. I went on vacation this everything would be up and working by the time I returned and was mistaken.

The apartments are very clean and updated, it's great value considering the area, the space, and the amenities in the community and in the apartment. We've had a great experience so far, and the apartment has everything that we need.

I enjoyed the community and the apartment complex before it changed management. The management now seems slow and different. The old management did things for the people and the community like having free cookouts and other events. The other management team was a lot nicer. I hope it gets better.

My apartment in specific isn't that bad, the community suffers from mice and bugs of all kinds. They do upkeep the outside of the properly but the upkeep of internal is minimal, and a lot of the patch work is starting to show after two years within this specific apartment. The staff itself is nice and a lot of the concerns I have I guess are beyond the internal staff. But that's just my opinion.

I think that my experience with the move was delightful. Outside of getting into the home and viewing that there are a tremendous amount of spiderwebs and active alive spiders throughout each room and hallways. I have been able to fairly cleaned and was able to get myself feeling better about the apartment. And Missing a light bulb for the kitchen was very noticeable. Howvever Everything else is going just fine.

It's quiet and the grounds are clean. But the heating system should be addressed and fixed promptly. When I first moved to Maryland this was the first place I chose. Then I moved away and chose to move back because of the cleanliness and proximity to different things.

It's a good community to live in. Not far from anything important. The neighbors are quiet. The only thing I don't like are the dogs pooping any and everywhere. Also their are a lot of ants. I used Home Defense but eventually I find them somewhere else in the apartment.

The change in management in the past year can be seen here. With the closing of the residential services center, the prescence of management and staff feels less significant than it was. While this community is in a great place, I think changes need to be made specifically with the precense of the staff in the community.

Renaissance club is a great place to live. Family friendly and my apartment complex has been very quiet since the time I have moved in. The only concern I have had was new neighbors who smoke and the smoke smell comes through the vents that causes everything in my apartment to smell like smoke. This has been a nuisance for me daily. Other than that, the Renaissance club has been an enjoyable place to live.
