This is one of the better apartment complexes you will find in Baltimore City at a reasonable price. I love the view my apartment offers and I love the amenities that come with my rental (Pool, Fitness Center, Business Center...). I love the staff. They are very nice and down to earth. Many of the tenants are mature and respectful of each other. Parking near your apartment building is difficult after 9pm.

I moved into the renaissance Club around May of 2011. It is a great place to live. No problems with people hanging out in front of the houses, the noise control is good, the area is clean, the Maintenance staff under Mr. Tony's supervision is awesome, I did get some field mice last year, but they stayed on it, and I am not fearful of walking around my apartment anymore, I go into the kitchen and cook again. The pool is a great outlet for my son during the summer, I take swimming lessons, so I love the privacy of the pool area, and have lots of space to practice. The office staff is 99% friendly and helpful.. I do miss the old collection manager, who was understanding. They show that you are important, by throwing a resident pool party at the end of summer. They do nice things for residents that I have never seen at any other apartment that I have lived in. They follow up on concerns. I am now ready to move into the Townhouses. The only reason why I would want to leave Renaissance Club, would be to become a new home owner. I hope this help anyone who is considering making Renaissance Club your new home. Yes, it is hard economic times, but what you get for the price here is is a Blessing. (A fitness center, security, and a pool). Way to go Renaissance Club- YOU ROCK

I moved here from Central New York and needed a nice place in a hurry. The Renaissance Club and their staff of incredible professionals made it so easy and comforting to move here to Baltimore. They walked me through every step of the process making it so easy to get everything together and finalize the lease. The apartment I moved into was perfect for my needs. The open kitchen really opens up the room and everything looks modern and nice. Excellent apartment complex, very safe and the gym is very convenient. The staff is what sets this place apart from the rest. They will assure you are a very happy resident and make sure you have no concerns.

My husband and I have lived here since January 2011. When we moved in it was nice the rent was $810.00 and now it has risen to $920.00 in two years. Each year it increases by $70.00. We have never been late and I thought this would count for something, evidently it doesn't and I know by next year we will be moving out. Can't afford this high rent. Yes if you move in on a rent special don't plan on living here long if you can't afford the rent hikes. Overall it is clean. I have not seen any rodents or heard any gunshots! Parking does not affect me because I catch the bus. I do notice that parking does fill up in the evening. Noise is at a minimum. The neighbors in my building are stupid as to the trash. They put trash out on Sundays and the squirrels and birds have a field day. The staff is courteous and the young lady that takes your maintenance requests has a beautiful personality and disposition.

I moved in my apt on August 1, 2012. I love it! I love the whole design of the apartment. The Staff are wonderful people are friendly and welcoming when you come into the office. The grounds keepers and cleaning staff and maintenace guys are so friendly. The area is quiet, peaceful and clean. I am well satisfied with my choice. I plan to upgrade to a 2 bedroom apt in a year or two when my grand children get older. I plan to stay here for a long time. I would recommend The Renaissance Club Apts to anyone looking for luxury, comfortability and peacefulness.

I lived at the Renaissance Club during a transition move from out of state to Baltimore for a new job. The Renaissance was perfect. It provides a safe, clean, well lit environment. The apartments allow a lot of light in through large windows. I loved having a washer/dryer in unit and a dishwasher in the kitchen. The grounds are well kept and have nice landscaping with mature trees and walkways through wide swaths of green space (an especially nice find in the city limits). The staff was tremendous, very friendly and helpful. They were very responsive to any request I had. I am going to miss living there.

I have been a resident of the Renaissance Club Apartment for several years. I have found the staff to be honest, sincere and helpful. The maintenance staff take care of any problems referred to them in a timely manner. Even to my buildings hallway and steps being cleaned daily. When weather is bad they immediately make sure walk ways are cleared. There are occasional inspections of the apartment, which I don't have a problem with . My apartment is always kept up as any apartment should be and this avoids problems occuring. I am truly pleased with my stay here and would recommend it to any family, friends, etc. looking for an apartment.

Rodents
I lived here for 4 years and stayed due to the low cost plus transition to home ownership. Since year 1 I noticed rodents and the problem increased over the years. I was subject to many inspections, maint, Baltimore city, annual semi annual seasonal, I mean u name it they were there. Air conditioning unit was not efficient, had a very hard time getting unit repaired. After repair still did not cool a 700 sq ft apt? The walls are very thin, so u can hear all of ur neighbors business and conversations. Just not a place I would ever recommend. My rent was 795 for first year ended at a lil over a thousand O_O. I can't imagine why people moved here for anything other than a rent special. Oh almost forgot, parking was horrible. Tight spots and not enough parking.

Good Experience
I lived here for 3 years. I had a few complaints but nothing too bad. I only moved because the rent kept going up to about $60 to $70 a year. I wish they were no so expensive. Other than that it was a great experience compared to where I live now.

I humbly request all people of baltimore pls stay away from this apartment
I stayed in Renaisssance club apartment for 13 months. until i lived there, i didnot face any problem. sooner i moved out from that apartment, they send me a bill of $1100 for no reason. i did clear all my accounts before i gave keys to them but after that suddenly they charged me $1100. that's completely unfair to me. i had even cleaned the carpet and paid $150 to the carpet cleaner and now they are telling me because of having red color in carpet in little amount, they had to change the carpet and they replaced the carpet and i have to pay for that and many more nonsense issues....... i would like to alert new movers to this apartment not to trust whatever they said cos at the time of moving in they did not tell you they gonna charge you a heavy fine of moving in their apartments. i have been in us for more than 5 years and till now not any other apartment has fined me like that. it is totally disgusting. i would also like to know dear friends can you please suggest me some ideas to get rid of this payment. when we live in apartment, we pay the rent of $800 or $900 a month, isn't that enough what we paid to live there, then what's the charges they are charging you for ????????? if they have to renovate their apartment for new movers then they should maintain with their own not by charging extra money from the one who has to leave the apartment, right ? i highly recommend the law should be made to sue these kinds of apartments who are trying to take advantage from people. any suggestions friends ????????????

not too many complaints
My family and I have lived at the Renaissance for 2 years now. The maintenance and office staff are always very nice and make sure all of my concerns are handled. I have a little problem with ants in the summer, but pest control comes out weekly to address that issue. I saw a mouse once in my townhouse and it was gone the very next day after i reported it to maintenance. My only complaint would have to be space and storage. Not having a living roo closet is a downfall for me. My family is outgrowing our townhouse. Definitely have problems with mold in the bathroom, but maintenance always takes care of it. If the house was bigger, I would definitely stay

Love it
I have been living at the Renaissance Club for a year and the only reason I am not renewing my lease is because they do not allow pets. I have not had many problems and the ones that I do have the staff is very helpful. I live on the ground floor and I have not seen any mice or roaches. The neighbors are quiet and everything in the apartment is up to date. I have been apartment hunting now and I can definitely say that if you don't have pets and don't want pets go for the renaissance club.

Read before you rent
The Renaissance Club is close to Towson, close to a supermarket, a pharmacy, and two shopping malls. The apartments are a decent size, there's free parking and it's fairly affordable rent. However, they advertised door to door trash pick up. When you move there you have to put your trash in front of the building. There is no place to put your trash if you miss the trash pick up. If you really just have to get your trash out of your apartment there is an unofficial place that even the maintenance people will tell you to put your trash. Which of course attracts rats, mice, raccoons and water bugs. Now as far as the apartment is concerned, they do inspections as if you live in a housing project. There are mice, spiders and other insects in your apartment and when you constantly complain to get the issue resolved after a point, you are made to feel that it's all in your head and you are the only one experiencing these things. In all the time my family and I lived there, the central air conditioning unit never had its filter changed nor did you have access to it to do it yourself; which I believed caused ventilation issues which subsequently seemed to have created a mold issue and a very high (like @ $250.00 per month and not even home high) electric bill. Also if you dare to sign a lease or have already done so, notice how much ---- they give you about mold prevention. I believe that they know that they have some kind of a problem but I honestly believe that they are too cheap to do anything about the number of issues that they have there. Now if you are already there and reading this, please make sure to somehow remove all your ---- because they will nickel and dime your --- to death and charge you if you leave anything behind because you didn't have a place to throw away your mold infested belongings. My advise, rent somewhere else. The rent may be good but that's about it.

Was a good learning experience but time to move on...
Things at the Renaissance Club are great... as long as you are allowed to just exist in the bubble of you and your apartment. Unfortunately, little things like management get in the way. I agree with the other reviews in that management are horrible at customer service and treat the residents with such blatant disrespect. I've made attempts to talk to management to about a few various topics and I've learned that I have to closely document everything because they will reneg on the agreement made. They inspect apartments at least every other month and do a horrible job at trash pick-up (Yes, they have those "hours" that they ask you to place your trash out, but they don't always adhere to them allowing for crows to tear apart the trash bags and scatter trash everywhere). Yes, the square footage is small for a two bedroom and the bathroom and closet space are lacking and parking can be a pain on the weekends but I can deal with that if I'm left alone to my own space that I pay hard earned money for. But unfortunately the RC is not worth it as management does not leave you alone and treat you like a speck of dirt.

Stupid rental staff, jeesh...
My girlfriend lives here so I come here almost every other weekend. The most idiotic thing is that they tell tenants when to empty out trash for removal in the morning!!! That's right, no garbage bins for people to conveniently dump their trash to their liking but ONLY between 5:00 am - 7:30 am, Mon - Sat in the front of each complex. Duh, doesn't this attract mice and roaches to each apartment complex more? The Baltimore City Sanitation department has to work extra hard just to remove trash from each building because this aprtment complex won't invest in the standard trash removal agenda that every other apartment complex has, A TRASH BIN!!! When there's snow there's no telling when they'll be back around to pick up trash either. This leaves a feast for rats and stray cats to tear through garbage left in front of each building. When it snows the only way you're getting around on this block is with a vehicle that has four wheel drive because the don't remove snow properly. My car skid down that steep incline on Waverly Way from Loch Raven Blvd on New years Eve 2009 because no salt or plowing was done on the street. This was hours after the snowfall might I add. Also, they have this new policy of not letting you pay your rent through the drop box. ???, is this the only apartment complex that goes out of its way to make the simpliest thing hard to do? You can only pay rent Mon - Fri, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, and if you work you have to go in late one day just to pay rent on time. You can pay on-line for an extra fee at your convenience of course. I think the rental staff has no consideration for its tenants because lets face it, most of them didn't get pass a sixth grade education. The apartment size is decent to me(700 sq ft. for a one bedroom around $800)and I do enjoy the peak rewards unit which makes BGE lest than the usual nightmare it is. Advice would be to not move to any of the apartments off of Loch Raven Blvd, Northern Pkwy or York Rd. since they all have major tenant/management issues (Wellington Gate, Fairways at Towson, Pelham Woods/Towson "Doublecrossing", Tall Oaks and Roll-a-Dutch Village all are horrible). I live in Silver Spring, MD which is starting to be a dump because some of the Baltimore hood from these apartment complexes are getting sent outwards to mess up other communities. It has to stop... I wouldn't live here again...
Despite being a well-educated, law-abiding citizen I felt the management treated me like they expected me to lie, cheat, and/or steal. They had surprise inspections every 2-3 months, sometimes more frequent. I was told that there would be ONE mandatory inspection when I moved in and that I would be given a week notice. The notice always came as a flyer on the door with ambiguous dates. I was also told that if managament didn't like my housekeeping, (i.e. my place was messy) they could issue me a warning or even evict me. The whole time I was there (1 yr) I saw maybe 1 neighbor. I was on a downstairs corner unit and the "Neighborhood" kids used to play right outside my livingroom and bedroom windows. I didn't feel very safe because the windows are literally the whole wall and in my tiny 2 bdrm, I had 3 of these huge windows in addition to others. The bathroom does not have an exhaust fan- they tell you to open a window. The bathroom is literally small enough that I could touch all four walls wall sitting on the toilet. The trash pick up was nice if you were home/ awake early enough to set your trash out in the strict 2 hour window they give you. Our neighbor didn't comply with this window and used to set her trash out whenever she wanted, which was nice for the squirrels who tracked it all over. I am at work by 6:30am, so I would set mine out early and risk getting yelled at. When I was signing the lease they offered me a "Sure Deposit" option which they said was a one-time fee that covered up to $500 of damages to the apt...this is *so* not what it really is. Shame on me for not carefully reading before signing, but the woman FLAT OUT LIED, not stretched the truth, not fudged around but LIED, LIED, LIED to my face as to what this was. Bye-Bye $100. Oh and whileI was moving out I got a notice on my door that they were getting complaints from residents smoking "an illegal controlled substance". I couldn't but I guess others could smell when neighbors smoked pot because the place has no ventilation....or insullation for that matter. My apt was ALWAYS freezing with the heat of full blast. Previously, I had an apt in Owings Mills, double the sq footage (from 1350 sq ft to 750 sq ft) and my BG&E doubled when I moved to this tiny apt!! The pet "deposit" is non-refundable. No, I would never live here again.

NO NO NO: TO BE FOREWARNED IS TO BE FOREARMED
DO NOT DO IT!!!! As a former tenant of the Renaissance Club Apartments I would advise you to NOT move to these apartments: if you want mice infested, high bill paying, rent soaring on top of everything that you have going on then scamper off. Granted everything has its shares of pros and cons. The apartments are clean on the outside, trash is picked up, but this is as far as it goes. And who does not want to live in sanitary conditions? Renaissance strives to cover up its gory stuff with an extremely nice outward appearance, and they WILL charm your socks off to make you move in. And once you do, then the "fun" begins. You have to sign a MULTITUDE of paperwork- everything from MOLD to taking care of the apartment-but once I moved in then the problems began. Yes, the apartment has indoor washer-dryer, etc, but they spray the bathtub with some kind of coating that chips incessantly- then the MICE began...and if you dont believe me get ahold of their newspaper of newsletter or whatever it is and look at their calendar- they do have a critter person come in EVERY TUESDAY- now you tell me why you would have someone come in every Tuesday of there was not a problem going on. Iexperienced it firsthand. I complained, complained and complained about the issue- I would watch TV with my husband and mice would scurry around like they owned the place. And all they did was put up those glue traps that never trapped ANYTHING. They would poke their little heads out of the stove burners...teasing you, taunting you. They would somehow get into the trash and thrash around... it resulted in my husband and I waking up and NOT eating in the kitchen at all. DISGUSTING! I found mice pellets along my closet wall, in the laundry area...you get the drift. And the rent DID jump up significantly with reasons like "with the current economy bla bla bla"....EVERY YEAR. Did I mention the flea infestation that I also had? We wont get into that. No resident has to endure crap like this and management not go out of their way to fix the problem. When time to move out came, I was charged for normal wear and tear stuff-THE BATHTUB, REPLACING THE ENTIRE CARPET- for close to $1,000. And yes, SURE DEPOSIT- beware of that! It was an overall very FRUSTRATING experience and my advise to you is this- BUY your own house- that way if you are faced with a myriad problems then you are in control and can fix it. Or LIVE SOEWHERE ELSE. To be forewarned really is to be forearmed. Have a stress free 2011

Good place to live
Have been living here for about a year now. I cannot renew my lease since I work in DC so have no choice. I loved living here: very clean apartments, entirely remodeled, nice carpet, no mice, no roaches... the only problem I found was the bathroom. I think what they did is paint old walls old bathtub without paying attention to details. Result: the paint in my bathtub progressively came out until it finally got ugly and the management asked me a bunch of questions about the products I used to clean it without doing much to fix it... besides that, I was a pretty satisfied tenant. I recommend the Renaissance Club apts.

dont let the name fool ya...
Overall I have been here for the past 4 years and my only main issue would the increase in rent every year. I have gone from paying $717 for a 2 bedroom to $957 for a 2 bedroom. The apartments should have been tore down completely before renovations because basically all that was done was the kitchen got new countertops and the bathroom was painted over. Yeah we got new washer/dryer, new frig and microwave..but the overall structure is not accomodating to the renovations. I have had several issues with my comcast cable company trying to find adequate wiring for my apartment. There is only one phone jack in the whole apartment and my computer workstation looks like a fire hazard w all the wires and plugs underneath. Did I mention storage space/closets...THERE ARE NONE!! I am a woman and ladies we need our space...For the price you pay I think we should at least have a hall closet????? That was removed when they decided to renovate. Dont live on the ground level..You will have all sorts of nature's finest at or inside your door. I had my fair share of ants and spiders!! No roaches though which was a good thing...I am moving this year so to anyone interested in the Renaissance Club..the name doesnt fit the housing..:(. O maintenance was the best!!

For the right person is a good place to live
I've lived in the renaissance club since 2006 and I can honestly say I enjoyed my stay. The garbage gets picked up from in front of your door and I've never seen a rodent in my apartment. The grounds are well kept and magagement usually responds quickly to requests. A few things I disliked were the size of the bathroom, NO closet space, and parking can sometimes be an issue. I would recommend living here if you don't have much stuff. I do believe for the cost of rent they should give you a little more space.

DON'T MOVE HERE!
I am a former resident and this place is a total rip off. My last few months there, I found out that depending on who you are, your rent can range from $730 - $860 for the same apartment. And yes, the mice and ants were a serious issue. Tried calling the main office, Allen and Rocks in Va and received very little progress. Once you sign that lease, they got ya!
