I have been a resident at Coopers Landing for a while. In my time here I have dealt with quite a few people in the office who are all friendly. Recently I spoke with Lindsey she was very kind and courteous. She was a ray of sunshine and it made my day brighter. Had I known about this site earlier I would have been happy to write a review. I would also like to take the time and mention the maintenance staff. They are very good with responding in a quick and professional manner. All of them are friendly and always do a good job.

I stopped in the Coopers Landing office the other day inquiring on a 1 bedroom apartment. I was greeted by Rosalind who was very professional and friendly. She was very knowledgeable about the apartments and the community and was able to answer all my questions. I had also visited other apartment communities that day too. If I choose Coopers Landing as my new place to live it will be because the apartments are very nice and because of the great customer service Rosalind gave me that I did now feel I got from the other places I visited. I began looking to relocate in the summer of 2015 and was initially placed on the waiting list. Rosalind was great in keeping me informed every step of the way! Since my move in November, Rosalind has remained my "go to" in the office and has helped navigate through several maintenance request etc. Greatly appreciate her courteous and patient professionalism.

I was relocated to the Kalamazoo area for a new job and had been apartment hunting for 4 days. Coopers Landing impressed me with the location, helpful staff, decent price for the amount of square feet and variety of room choices. Lindsey and Chelsea were extremely helpful in the leasing office and were able to answer all of my questions! I am excited to live here :)

LOVE THE COMPLEX, STAFF IN THE OFFICE AND THE APARTMENTS. THEY SHOULD REALLY SCREEN THE PEOPLE THAT LIVE ABOVE YOU. TOO NOISY AND INCONSIDERATE. THE DOG POOP NEEDS TO BE PICKED UP BY PEOPLE WHO WALK THEIR DOGS. MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL THAT IT SHOULD BE BY THE MAIL BOX ETC. THE MAINTENANCE GUY IN THE GRAY TRUCK IS RUDE AS HELL. NO PEOPLE SKILLS AT ALL.

I've been at Cooper's Landing for a little over a year, and I have been very happy with my stay here. The leasing office staff has been very friendly, the apartment itself (2 bedroom loft) is beautiful and very clean, and the complex is in a quiet and safe neighborhood. I've never had any issues with noise, disrespectful neighbors, or problems with the leasing office. I was particularly impressed with one specific leasing agent at Cooper's Landing, Nikkole Long. Nikkole helped me throughout the entire moving process (coming and now going) and has been my go-to person during my year here. She has always gone above and beyond to help make my day a little smoother, and my life a little easier. Moving is stressful enough as it is, and having a great leasing agent like Nikkole helping can really make all the difference in the experience. For all of these reasons, I highly recommend Cooper's Landing to anyone looking for an apartment. :) It's a great place! (My only criticism is that I wish it had a pool...a pool would make it perfect.)

So when we first looked at Cooper's landing everybody was nice and more than eager to get us in and were understanding. The day we moved in, we (on our watches) we're rushing to get in and things to do. So we signed the lease and started to unload the truck with our belongings. I walked in the apartment for the first time and everything looked alright. And then looking in detail noticed the cleaning person DID NOT CLEAN very well at all. I can clean, that's not a problem but why am I paying $100 cleaning fee if it ISNT clean when I move in?? There was mold in both bathrooms and in the washing machine. You could smell the mold after you washed a load and that's how I found it. Then the dishwasher had rust. I can't risk getting my kids sick with rust coming out of the dishwasher. Maintenance didn't come til a week after we moved, he cleaned as best he could the mold situation, which isn't his job to clean, it's to fix things. Then the rust in the dishwasher he tried to get rid of it and told me to run it a few times. So I have ran it 8 times now and rust is still coming out of he rinse agent dispenser, where you would put Jet Dry. So I call the office and they can't have a maintenance guy for another 3 days because it isn't an "emergency". Stop, if you are open and maintenance is ON SITE why does it have to be an emergency for one of them to come to my apartment to fix this issue? You're open! So far I am not thrilled with living here. The paint literally rubs off he walls, looks like they used spray paint in some parts. And there whole noise complaint policy, you can here people's TVs playing from 3 floors away. It's like there's no insulation for sound. I have lived in some apartments you would consider to have slumlords, this exact apartment isn't, but the lack of care or concern for your residents is quite ------. Especially reading other reviews from fellow new tenants. I shouldn't have to deal with rust or have my eczema flair up because I am constantly washing every dish by hand for over a week now. We're paying for a dishwasher and should be able to use the dishwasher or the washer and dryer. This is really a simple fix and should have been done before we moved in. Along with the cleaning.

We moved into coopers landing almost 3 weeks ago and it has been a headache ever since. While I will commend them on location, price & community we've had problem after problem from the start. Upon moving in we realized we would be living in a "fixer upper". Our bathroom trim was being held up by tape, there are splashes of paint all over the wooden door frames, the washer was broken, the sinks had a hard time draining, the windows were left open and then were bugs all over the bedrooms, our second bedroom closet was ripped from the wall at the screw, there were patch marks all over from where a previous tenant had obviously put their fist through the wall and last (but certainly not least) our sliding glass door was shattered. The doors are two paneled so there wasn't a security risk of someone breaking in, however, it did cause a threat to anyone who came near it as there was shattered glass on the floor and the edges are just sharp shards waiting for something bad to happen. My fiancé and I have gone to the office and called the office to complain several times each time getting the same response "the door is on order". We even took a photo of the door situation and showed the front office. They all agreed it was hazardous but no one could help us find a solution (we even just asked if they could get a glass cutter and make the edges smooth instead of ragged). After three weeks of living here maintenance called and said they would arrive at 9am to address some of our issues. At 11am they finally arrived (we did call to see what the hold up was and the office told us they were running behind and we would just need to be patient). I will give it to you, the maintenance man was one of the nicest and most understanding people we've met while here. He took one look at the shattered door, our dog (who's already cut his nose on it) and our baby nephew (who thank goodness hasn't had an interest in the door due to strategic blocking) said "wow this really isn't right. You should have never moved in with this shattered". THANK YOU! someone finally listened to us. He said his hands were tied on what to do because the glass repair man had strict rules on how it had to be set up- he offered us the only solution he could: duct taping the frame. While the door looks low end now, we're actually happy to have found a solution that keeps everyone safe... for now. Once again the office has told us the door is in order and should only be about a week (we were also told that on day one of moving in though so three weeks later im not holding my breath; we even overheard in the office that they made a mistake and forgot to order the door but of course weren't going to tell us or offer us any solution/compensation). We just feel like we have been continuously put on hold and overlooked. For the price of the apartment versus the quality of the apartment we got we are wishing we would have gone somewhere else. I am sure that coopers has wonderful apartments if you move into a newer building- however, it's obvious that the old buildings haven't been repaired with quality and that they really just want to move you in as fast as possible- no matter the issues. I don't think I would recommend this to friends (unless they did a walk through of their apartment before signing the lease to insure they got a new building) and I can already tell you when the lease is up we will most definitely be finding somewhere else to live. The sad thing is that we tried to be the nicest residents they could have, we never yelled or got short wih the office, and were always polite. We felt like this put us even lower on their list to help. In the end we still have a fixer upper with a shattered (duct taped) door and were feeling frustrated. Good luck to all who move here.

I have lived at Cooper's Landing on and off since 2009. Of all the apartment communities in the area I feel that it is the best value. The rent is reasonable, especially considering what is included...a full size washer/dryer and a garage. They also offer employer discounts on the rent for certain employers. I recently transferred apartments and Nikkole Long assisted me with this move. I had several issues in the new apartment but she worked with me to ensure all my needs were met and issues were resolved. Maintenance have always been helpful as well and do a nice job of handling all the requests for as many apartments as there are here. No place is perfect, but to me having a place that is clean and safe is a top priority and Cooper's Landing has always felt like home to me. I would recommend Cooper's Landing to anyone looking for a new place to call home. :)

I have only been here a week, but my experience thus far has been Great! Nikkole was courteous and prompt with any questions or concerns I had. My dryer didn't work when I first moved in, but maintenance exchanged it out with a new one immediately. They were courteous and professional. I look forward to making Coopers Landing my new home!

I'm a new resident and I have really enjoyed my experience so far. Rosalind was kind and always helpful, and Doug in maintenance was quick to resolve my request. So far I'm impressed by the apartment's size and offerings: full washer/dryer, garage, storage, large rooms. I share a 2/2 Townhouse and the rent is reasonable as well. I can hear my neighbors sometimes, but overall the community seems safe and quiet, which is what I was looking for. I would definitely recommend these apartments!

These guys are wonderful! Jen Shea in particular has time and time again gone above and beyond to make sure we are satisfied as residents. From double and triple checking maintenance request to following up on any billing and back office questions we may have, she has not missed a beat. It is because of Jen and the excellent staff they have at Coopers Landing that my roommates and I are proud to call it home and wouldn't want to be any where else.

I've been very happy at Cooper's Landing Apartments. It is a very quiet community, and most neighbors are friendly. I love my garage and my living space. Tom, one of the maintenance men, is very very friendly and helpful. He assisted me with a frozen pipe, and he was very respectful while he was in my living space. Rosalind, one of the leasing agents, was helpful with all my questions during move-in. If she didn't know an answer, she would find out. She is very friendly, and she wants the residents to be happy. Everything was clean and functional when I moved in. I'd love to see some street lights because it seems a little dark at night, especially for walking in the road since there are no sidewalks. My rent is particularly high because I have a short-term lease. I think it's ironic that a month-to-month lease costs less than a three- or six-month lease, and I wish I could be paying the month-to-month rate.

When we moved in we were very impressed with the community, the apartments and staff seemed nice. It is a very safe community. However, we had some issues at move in, very few of the apartment doors worked correctly. The bathroom door wouldn't latch, the closet doors were off the tracks or broken, and the slider door to outside wouldn't stay locked. Our dryer vent wasn't even hooked up, and wasn't plugged in all the way. When I tried to plug it in all the way I got electricuted, and when I called the staff telling them I was afraid it was a fire hazard they seemed unconcerned and said they would get to it in a day or two. I will say that when we did have maintance come they were very helpful and nice! They are one of the few positives to this complex. My main complaint here is the staff in the office, they rarely seem to know what is going on. They have no records of if we had pets, the fact that we had a 6 month lease, or even how much our rent was when we went in there with questions. A little over a month before we moved out we asked what our prorated rent would be, and they calculated us an amount and sent us on our way. When we went to turn in our last checks, they told us we hadn't filled out a 30 day notice sheet, and had to pay the full month. Our lease was up, we had come in 30 days before and hadn't been given the sheet. Along with that the manager was out of the office, and if we didnt pay the whole month they would charge us late fees for each day if we waited for her to come back into the office. We worked things out with someone higher up in the company in grand rapids who was very helpful, and understanding. But be very cautious of the people working in the office, they seem nice but have no organization and no clue what is going on.

Good Apartment/ Townhome complex. Everything is solid in and outside the Townhome I live in. The Townhomes look and feel updated. One thing that you might wont to look into is the HEATING cost. I live in one of the loft Townhomes and the heat travels in and right out. The furnace is set up in a poor design, so the cold air return actually pushes in more cold air then heat. Also the garage needs some type of draft sealer, because the air goes right in through the main garage door. I have blocked off most of the air, but it looks like a have sheets up everywhere. I will be putting up plastic eventually. Nice peaceful place to live and the price for the area is a little high, but you do get your own garage and the noise from neighbors is barely there. You do need to have renters insurance, so the price you eventually pay is plus $20-30 I'm paying $750 right now. Water and Trash is provided. Gas and Electricity is your responsibility as well as cable. I do think the cable and internet should be standard and included in the rent to offset the fact that the clubhouse offers no amenities. No pool, No gym, is does have an outdoor tennis court but who really uses that. Coopers Landing does offer a gym rate discount at a local facility, but then again its only a discount for something that is virtually at every apartment/townhome community in Kalamazoo has. I give coopers landing an B- I would recommend to a friend, but I wont be staying.

Maintenance staff are extremely rude, lazy and unprofessional!!!! Office staff are nice but sometimes incompetent of their own policies. Property is gorgeous and apartments were very nice. Pet deposit is a little ridiculous price wise. Too bad they are building so many new buildings that are blocking the beautiful sunset views the back of the property has. I am not sure why but the power goes out there a lot and our buildings fire alarm went off 6 times last year.
