The apartments are nice, the staff is cool. Maintenance issues are taken care of, and parking couldn't be better you get a free garage. This summer I weeded my building and was compensated toward my rent, when your struggling in this economy and a community cares for its residents, your getting more then you pay for. I clean at Borgess Hospital and know that a lot of my co-workers live or have lived at Cooper's Landing, that I know of all have been happy here.

4 years and never upset
I live in building 5016 and haven't been unhappy with the office. I think it is sad to see some of the comments posted here. My biggest complaint is a horribly sensitive main entrance door that tends to get blown off the hinges once in awhile. I have lived in apartments for a long time and have choosen to remain here because I enjoy my apartment, it's quiet and my issues have always been addressed in a timely fashion. I would like to see a childrens waiting area at the bus stop so that kids don't have to wait for the bus in the open during harsh michigan weather, maybe if more residents suggest it, it will be a possibility. Other then that the apartments are great.

Genuine and Real
I have lived at Cooper's Landing thru 2 different apartments and 3 years worth of leases and have no complaints regarding the apartments, however a member of the staff is a different story. In March of 2009 I requested maintenance to fix the seal around my front door. I had a jar full of change that I was saving for a vacation fund, when I returned home it was gone. I contacted the office and reported the issue and they said they'd look into it. Although I didn't pinpoint anyone, later that evening, Josh from maintenance came to my door in a frenzy telling me he didn't take my money. After that incident Josh would randomly stop by like he was trying to make sure I was alright with him, once he even asked me to borrow $50 toward his brake pads, come on man!! Turns out a couple weeks ago Josh got fired for breakin into apartments and stealing peoples stuff, how do I know this? Josh himself came to my door telling me that he is being falsely accused and is innocent. He then ran his mouth about the owner, and the office ladies being shady and told me if I wanted more information to hit up this web-site. So here I am, mostly because I now know who stole my money and if he shows up at my door again Im calling the cops. I could care less about the office, the ladies have always been nice anytime I have come in.

This place is a JOKE
This is the worst place to rent ever do you want to know the truth about this place? I bet you won t want to rent here and if you already live here you won t want to anymore DISCRIMINATION let me tell you why. 1.) -------, the office manager , is a total hypocrite and a liar. It s kind of funny that there are certain breads of dogs that we can not have at coopers, yet it was okay for her to live at the condos and have her ---------, named ---- living there with her. She would even bring it on the apt side, while her ---------- was living there and without a leash. I have photos to prove this maybe we should all get those kinds of dogs, what is she going to do about it??? Discrimination?...I think so. 2.) The ---------- I just mentioned. His name is -------------- and she hired him to be our SECURITY person for coopers landing. I m pretty sure that felons are not allowed to live at cooper, but oh wait YES, he is a felon. I went to school with him, so I know! She lied and forged documents about his middle name and previous employer (which never existed) to get him hired, feel safe?? YES, he has access to all apt keys. He used to brag about it. He was finally fired because he got caught with a -------- at the apt and she couldn t cover that one up. If you look him up, he is a known drug offender too. Good thing she is only worried about her child support. Discrimination?...I think so. 3.)------- also gets on to these websites and writes her own reviews to make it look like a tenant wrote it to TRY and make herself look good because she knows she s a terrible employee. It s funny that she ll do what ever it takes to hide her crookedness. It s also funny how documents mysteriously disappear when it s something that could possibly get her fired. She is never in the office; she is always out getting her hair done or taking care of personal things. I have tried to contact her many times and surprise, no -------. 4.) ------, the office girl, is the biggest gossip around. She will go around and tell people your personal information out of your files and spread rumors around. She too has brought a felon onto/living with her at coopers and oh wait ------- covered it up. Also have pic of that. Wow, news travels good job big mouth ------, you make this so much easier for me. Shouldn t trust everyone with other peoples business. 5.) Don t expect to call ------- s boss ---- either, I have tried and for some reason she always gets away with it, she must be sleeping with him since he seems to overlook everything. Feel free to contact corporate though. Anyhow, I have sooooo much more on this stupid, good for nothing place. I have been talking with a lawyer and if ------- doesn t get fired real quickly I will be slapping then with a discrimination lawsuit. If they fired her, i would leave it alone bcuz then things would be as they should be for us tenants. Feel free to join me Also, kind of funny that I posted this already once and it got removed WORRIED?? Til next time! They need to let ---- be the manager; at least things will get done properly and efficiently. She is the only one you can count on to get anything done here.

Couldn't Have Moved At A Better Time!
I came into the office at one point and it smelled like weed and alcohol; it took 20 minutes for someone to even realize I was there. No one was in the office except some random employee who looked like he was sleeping. When I went back later the manager was on her cell phone and told me to wait a minute; 15 minutes later she finally got around to me, but had locked her dog in the office so no one could see that she had it with her. I did not want to have to move all of my stuff again because I am leaving the state in one year, but after they started new construction and made crazy noise all day, I had to move, plus, everytime i'd give them permission to enter my home to fix something that was broken, I'd be missing quarters out of my change jar in my kitchen. My neighbors were ------ and loud and unpredictable. I broke my lease, paid the fee, and got the hell out of there. My theory is that arguing with there people is like talking to a brick wall - a waste of time and money.

Morons
Most everyone that works at Cooper's is moronic, I am very surprised any of the individuals who work there still have a job. Fees are ridiculous!

coopers landing 09
Not a bad place. I moved out to kzoo last year to start school n been staying here since. The price of rent is pretty much what got me in here. Plus its close to everything. Havent really had any problems yet, except for some old lady that was always yelling, shes moved out now though. The staff has been really nice and most of the neighbors are freindly too. I know theres some areas around Kzoo with some shady type of people but these apt buildings are pretty safe from what ive seen. Good place to live, check it out if youre looking for somewhere to move.

Very good place too live!
I used to live here with my fiancee, and we loved this place! Great service from the staff. Any time there was a problem, theyd be on it right away. The apartments are very nice and well kept, as well as the landscaping around the properties. All the neighbors we met in our time there were nothing but courteous and kind. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to live!!

The best by far!
I have absolutely loved leasing at Cooper's Landing. I think for the area the apartments are superior. I live in a 3 bedroom on the second floor with the larger style balcony and attached garage. I have been here for 2 years and would stay if I wasn't getting married at the end of my lease. The management has been the same since I first moved in and I understand why. Although I have had very few issues, I have always spoke to her directly and my issues are always taken care of quickly. The leasing office is also the same since I moved in, with the exception of a new face. When you see the staff is consistant and friendly, it helps you to feel more at home within the community. My only advise would be to offer main floor 3 bedrooms. I don't care for the stairs with my 2 year old, and am always concerned he can be heard from the apartment below. Other then that I love my washer and dryer being in my apartment, as well as being to have my black lab. I have truely enjoyed being a resident here and have suggested it to friends.

Coopers Landing was a decent place to live. Rent was affordable and the apartment was a pretty good size. Can't say I ever had any problems with the staff or neighbors.

Cooper's Landing is the jam. And by jam, I mean the shizzle. For real, though, one of the greatest complexes in KZoo.

Awful Staff and Community and Cheaply made apartments
The manager ------- is rude and dishonest. My husband and I were weary about leasing a lower unit and asked ------- if the renters upstairs had children or a dog, she avoided the question and come to find out we live underneath a Great Dane (no lie) and a 3 year old, it honestly is the noisiest apartment I have ever lived in. I have witnessed the leasing agents make inappropriate remarks about their tenants. The apartments themselves are spacious but nothing special and are definitely lacking closet space. This community does not care about their tenant's safety or well being and complaints go unanswered. The apartment complex allows dogs of all sizes which means that it can be very noisy and you could live next to a dog that barks all day. The apartment itself is cheaply made, window screens don't fit in windows, doors are uneven, carpet is coming apart in kitchen, I have not even lived here 6 months! But when I approached the management staff about issues like these ------- (the manager) told me that I was being nothing but trouble. I also have never lived in an apartment this loud. I can hear people fighting, kids crying and dogs barking. The lease policy is awful, you can't break your lease for anything. You have to pay rent until your lease is up or until they find someone to rent it. We are moving out in December and I can not wait! For $855/mo I can buy a house and be happy!

Cujo - ------'s Dog
I have never written a review on cooper's because I figured after I moved out I would never want to live there again. But when I was searching for new aparments, I thought it would be interesting to see other people experiences there...seems pretty shady to me. I do remember the office woman (------'s) dog - he tried to attack my dog when we were out running and she could barely keep it back; my roommate and I nicknamed him Cujo. We could always hear it barking during the day when we walked by that back grassy area. There was a basketball net there, too for a long time which took up one of the parking spaces I wouldn't be surprised if it was hers.

A ------ apartment complex
Put it this way. It sucks. hallways are nasty. Carpet in my apartment was supposed to be cleaned before I got there. We sucked up 2 containers full of cat hair and cat litter. Walls are paper thin. People do not respect the noise policy. Just last night there was a loud motorcycle going up and down the aisles from 11:30 pm to past 1 AM and drunk people yelling in the middle of the parking lot. The air conditioning needs to run all the time to cool it down. The seals on the frig and dishwasher had dried nasty food all over them when I moved in. I am very displeased over all and would love to get out of my lease. Landscaping is nice though and washer and dryer in the apartment is cool.

A review of my stay at Coopers Landing Apts.
Overall, I must say that my stay at Coopers Landing Apartments was very good! I love the nautical theme in the buildings; These apartments are newer (less than 10 years old) and maintained nicely so they look great inside and out. I was glad to have a washer & dryer in the unit, plus a dishwasher and a garage. Those are things you don't normally get with most apartments! The staff, both office and maintainence, were always friendly and helpful. The lawns and flower beds were lovely and well-maintained. Frankly, I hated to leave Coopers Landing, but buying my own place was a wonderful opportunity I couldn't pass up, and that is the only reason I had to leave such a nice place!

I'm glad I landed here
I was looking for a place not to far from kzoo, so Cooper's became my new home. I like the garages and size of the apartment, and the price isn't anything to complain about.

BEST apartments around... no contest!!
When I was searching for an apartment, the features that I really wanted included my own laundry, garage, and air conditioning. Not only does Coopers Landing have these ammenities, they have many more. I love that the laundry is upstairs in my room- it couldn't be any handier! The fact that my garage is attached is so nice on rainy days and was wonderful for the snowy wintertime. I've lived here a year and have never had to complain about noisy neighbors or anything. The solid concrete construction does wonders for both noise and temperature control. I feel very safe here, which I think says a lot about a community. Do keep in mind that dogs are allowed, so there is an occasional bark, but it's not been a problem at all. The maintenence staff is very helpful, prompt, and friendly. Parking is never an issue- there is plenty, unlike many other apartments around Kalamazoo. Most importantly... if you are looking for a loud/college-hangout/party place, Coopers Landing is NOT for you. You'd be happier somewhere else (and so would we)!

Ok but not great
I have lived at Coopers Landing for almost a year now. The apartment itself is beautiful and I have never had a single maintenance issue since moving in. The office staff was very helpful during the move in process. That being said, you don't get a lot for your money other than a nice apartment. The complex does nothing extra for its residents. You can not pay your rent at the office - it must be mailed to Grandville or paid online with a $9 fee. The office will not accept packages if you are not home. There is no pool or common area for residents. Other apartments I have lived in have had different activities or specials for their residents each month. This apartment has nothing like that. If you are looking for a nice apartment and don't want any of the extras, this is a wonderful place to live. If you enjoy the extras, I would continue looking elsewhere.

considering living at Coopers Landing...need advice
My fiance and I toured Coopers Landing a few months ago and pretty much fell in love with it! We came back a few weeks ago, pretty much set on our decision; however, the woman who helped us out in the office this time was INCREDIBLY RUDE! She pretty much threw a set of keys at us and told us to bring them back when we were done. We had several questions because we know what we want, and we want to make sure that we make a wise decision. She did not provide us with any information, and we left frustrated with her lack of help. We noticed several negative reviews on here that mention the same thing about the office staff, and we are now VERY hesitant to choose Coopers Landing, for fear that we will immediately regret it. However, we do not want to live in college housing anymore because we want to be able to focus on our future without so many distractions, and we have not had much luck elsewhere. We are looking for something more low key, and more family/adult oriented. What is the atmosphere like there? What are the pros and cons of living there? Any advice that current residents can offer to us would be GREATLY, GREATLY appreciated! Thank you!
