Thus far, the people I met have been kind and welcoming. There have been loud noises but nothing overly disruptive. The front office staff has been very helpful in matters relating to facilities and leasing issues.

The apartment is not well kept, not secure and very loud. I am disappointed in the apartment's ability to fix anything that breaks, keep the doors locked and keep the garage doors working, seems like simple asks of an apartment community.

Fantastic staff, wonderful layout and best location here in Charlotte. We have restaurants, breweries and are just minutes away from the train. It's a dog loving neighborhood and the staff keeps a frigde fully stocked with sodas, water and snacks. We also have a Starbucks machine, just in case you run out of coffee on monday morning. Best place I've lived in Charlotte!!!

This community just seems like a old one that doesn't seem to get the care and upkeep and attention to detail that it may have once received when it was first completed. The quality of the community is just poor, and is not luxury even though you pay luxury price to live here.

if i has taken a stroll down my hallway prior to moving in, rather than only seeing the area around the floor models, i would not have signed this lease. trash everywhere, dog feces and urine in hallways, paper thin walls. have spoken with leasing who seemed very apologetic and i hope they make things right. this place is barely cheaper than others in the area but is significantly less kept up from what i have seen so far.

It's been OK, cleanliness of corridors is terrible and garage doors are always out of service. There are multiple stains in hallways, plastered walls that have never been sanded and repainted, broken exit signs etc.

Office staff is always very helpful and professional. Maintenance work is completed fast and efficiently. I feel very safe in this community. There is a great atmosphere and environment for young professionals living in Charlotte.

I would never in my life recommend that someone lives at this property or any MAA property for that matter. The property management is non existent and the customer service is terrible. As soon as you sign that lease you are just another number and all that matters is the company's financial bottom line, not their residents. Please see the experience I had below upon moving out: I walked into the leasing office because I was intending to move out 7/13 opposed to 7/23 (when the lease actually ended) because it was more convenient for me to make my cross country move over a weekend. I went into the leasing office to seek advice about moving out early, specifically was their anything I needed to do for them because I was leaving early. I was directed to put my keys, parking pass and key fob in an envelop, leave my modem in the unit (they included cable/internet with rent), to leave the apartment unlocked and send them an email once I vacated the premise. There were no warnings made to me to wait to cancel my renter's insurance until the end of the lease, opposed to when I was actually moving out. I therefore cancelled the renter's insurance the date I moved out, as I was voluntarily surrendering the property and had no insurable risk in the empty apartment. Much to my surprise I upon moving out I received an invoice with "move out charges" in which a $20 charge was included for "renters insurance non compliance fee". I attempted to contact the property manager at 1225 church street apartments (where I lived) and explained the above situation. Instead of owning up to the mistake of not telling me, when I walked in seeking this specific advice, they simply said the lease said they could charge this fee and that it was "basic knowledge" that I needed to maintain the renters insurance until the end date of the lease. MAA in essence is attempting to profit $20 off an issue they helped create over a mere 10 days where the apartment was vacant and are now threatening to send me to collections over the $20 if I don't pay it. Additionally, they have a contract with spectrum so they it is "included" in the rent. When I moved out I was told to leave the spectrum modem in the unit. Spectrum then tried to charge me $78 for an unreturned equipment fee. I then proceeded to have to argue with spectrum for over an hour to get the charge removed. Of course I was not compensated for that error on their part, but they have no issue trying to charge me $20 for "renters insurance non compliance" for cancelling the policy the day I moved out opposed to the day the lease ended 10 days later (profiting off a mistake they helped create by non providing notice when I walked into their office asking what I had to do if I left the property early). In summation... they are callous crooks!

Cheap apartment complex with more square footage relative to the South End area. Maintenance requests are responded to in a timely manner. The facilities (pool, gym, etc) are maintained well. The area is located in a great spot in South End. There are a ton of restaurants/bars within a short walk. The parking is the biggest issue. There is limited guest/street parking and not enough resident parking.

I looked all around the south end area for a potential apartment. I thought that South Church had a great location and close to many restaurants/things to do. I also thought it would be a good area to live here since I am now much closer to my work.

My experience has not been good. Within the first 6 months I had to move due to a noisy tenant above me that did not stop even with repeated completes to them and the office. This caused me major stress and inconvenience. Around the complex there are also very dirty areas and broken fixtures. I also had broken fixtures and bugs in my first apartment and also bugs in my second unit. The only positive has been the office staff. They are very nice, professional and helpful and they were very accommodating with my move and I appreciate that. They are always willing to listen to me and help out with my issues. I have no complaints with them/

Closet in show unit and actual unit were not the same. You can randomly hear water dripping from heater/ AC unit where apparently nothing can be done about. Setting up internet through spectrum was complicated and hit with extra fees.

Josh was great when I came in to lease the apartment. Has been very helpful with everything since I moved in. Only issue I have is that I cannot have two parking fobs and passes as I have family and friends come visit a lot and can't find visitor parking. Please make visitor parking and allow an additional fob to be purchased. Everything else is great

My move in experience was very good! I called in the day before to confirm that they were still ready and they said yes! I showed up and they had all my stuff ready to go and went over everything with me! It was very easy and good to do.

I moved into 1225 S Church this winter. I've been living here about 4 months and have enjoyed my time so far. South End is a great place for recent college graduates and young professionals to live, and 1225 S Church is in a great spot to enjoy the restaurants and attractions that the area offers. Before moving in I was alarmed by the overwhelmingly negative reviews I found for the building on Yelp. I addressed these with my leasing agent, Nick, before moving in and I can honestly say that these reviews are not representative of my experiences with 1225 S Church. 1 - Communication. Anytime I have needed something from the Leasing Office, I have received timely responses from the property employees. I had a friend visiting and the office was able to badge them into the building for me. I was appreciative that they were able to accomodate my request. I had positive interactions with the leasing representatives, specifically Nick, before and after moving in. 2 - Maintenance. I have requested maintenance for my room for several things (light bulb out, broken blind, etc.) and the issue has always been resolved in less than 1 business day. If a part needed to be ordered, they left a note in my apartment letting me know the timeline for fixing the issue and documenting that they were in my apartment. 3 - Mail/packages. 1225 S Church has a subscription with Parcel Pending to allow residents to securely receive packages in the building. I have heard from many friends who live in the Charlotte area that package theft is an issue. This has not been an issue with 1225 S Church. The Parcel Pending locker is accessible 24/7 and allows you to online shop worry-free. 4 - Facilities. Overall, the grounds are pretty clean. Some residents make a mess throughout the week, but I feel it always gets cleaned up in a timely manner. I have seen broken beer bottles in the stairs, dog poop in the stairs, trash left behind, etc., but it is always gone within a few days. I would say that the building is very attentive, which is something I appreciate. 5 - Valet Trash. Included in the rent fee is Valet Trash. Residents can leave their trash outside of their room to be picked up Sunday night-Friday night. It is super convenient. The only downside is that it can make the hallway smell like trash, if a lot of your neighbors put their trash out. 6 - Transparency. During my touring process, I appreciated the transparency in communication from my Leasing Agent. He was honest about exactly how much I could expect to pay each month (extra fees, utilities, etc). Nick helped me to find the perfect apartment for my budget and needs. Overall, his transparency throughout the process made my decision to move to 1225 S Church easy. 7 - Amenities. 1225 has two gyms and two pools, which is convenient for residents. The outdoor courtyards and patio areas with fire pits are also nice. A lot of people use the areas to walk their dogs, but don't pick up the poop (despite the signs), but I have seen maintenance employees cleaning this area weekly.

It has be fine. The apartment is nice but it is very over priced for what you get. The common areas are not maintained and are rarely, if ever cleaned. People do not clean up after there pets so the entire outdoor space smells.

Have only been moved in for a week but love it so far. Location is awesome. Noise from garage door is loud but not as noticeable as I thought it would be at night. Wish there was more space in the gym!

Everything up until move-in was fine. I am required to pay $75 per month for internet/cable through spectrum. A modem was provided that didn't work and I spent hours on the phone, in the store, and with a technician to get it fixed. This was ridiculous considering I have no other options due to spectrum's contract with 1225 South Church. It would make sense for the internet to be tested before someone new moves in. The directions given to me at move-in also didn't give any help information if the internet didn't work.

I will preface this by saying I think the community is trying harder to gain loyalty from their residents. They are hosting more community events, coming up with policies and procedures for disgusting residents that don't pick up after their animals. I do think that the leasing office needs more staff, it seems that they can't respond to requests in a timely manner. Residents can be trashy and loud- dog pee and poop everywhere. I would recommend this community solely based on the fact that the location is prime. I don't pay an insane amount for living on the 4th floor with a city view- so I enjoy this aspect. It's also nice not to have people stomping above me...instead I am that person.

Not bad for the price. Good location and fairly quiet, but messy. Management could put forth more effort to keep common areas cleaner, especially the stairwells. Also, could more investment into general maintenance. Parking is an absolute mess. If you're not inside the deck by 8PM, you're parking out on the street. Coffee machines always need attention and can't be used a lot of the time. I know, first world problems. Some EV chargers would also be nice.

It's a high-rent frat house. Yes, the pools & gyms are great. But there's tons of noise & partying, so if that's not you, this isn't your place. Everything inside the apartment is basic builder grade materials, not the luxury that the website suggests. This is my second year here, but I'm not planning to renew.

Security would be better if it was not so easy for people to get into the building. It does not feel safe when people can just get through the doors without key fobs. I have seen several people get in the building easily

I have so far really enjoyed living at 1225 South Church apartments. The location is great and I have no complaints about the community, everyone seems kind and welcoming! Guest parking is a concern, but there are alternatives that make it more convenient.

I patiently waited for TV's and computers to work in the common areas and it took up to a week to figure it out this was an amenity which I thought I was paying for so not overall satisfied although staff was very helpful they just didn't get the problem fixed fast enough.
