Just moving in disappointed because there are no linen closet or ceiling fans like the model shown. A service request was put in for my air conditioner to be fix it took over a week for the work to be completed, they showed the work order as complete before they actually started

Its clean and green - liked it. I wish I avoided the cable - which seems to be mandatory. Everything was fine with my apartment that I've rented. It's very good place to stay. I liked the pool and GYM and I choose this apartment as this is very close to my work place.

When I first moved here I was pleased with the community as a whole. 5 years later and I can not wait for my lease to be up so I can move. Office staff is rarely available by phone, loud music and people loitering in the parking areas at all hours of the night.

Experience has been pretty good so far. I moved in the month of June on June 20th 2015 and although there were quite a few things which needed to be fixed in the apartment, the maintainence team has been great in getting these issues fixed. They have been responsive in two days mostly

Community is quite old , appliances is also very old but its very peaceful community with great staff. Kids plating area is there but I feel there should be a tennis play ground for all other folks. Rent is not too high compare to all other community.

Roaches, Roaches, Roaches. I reserved a unit the early part of July. We moved in the early part of August. I was greeted by 25-30 dead roaches in the kitchen cabinet. I informed the apartment office but they did not even offer to clean it up. Over the next couple of days I continued to find dead cockroaches through the apartment. I again told the apartment office and demanded they come clean it. No one arrived that day to clean. The next day maintenance arrived to take care of the air conditioner that was reported as not working the day before. I suffered heat exhaustion during the 24 hours it took to get someone to my unit -over 82 degrees in the unit all day and night. Though maintenance did clean up the dead roaches that day initially he was not going to because only emergency situations are handled on the weekend.Because it was the weekend only emergency requests appeared on his work order list. He was very kind and helpful though as was the staff person who arrived a couple of days later to fix things like a torn screen, wiggling lock, etc which were minor issues noted upon move in. I was told that the major issues such as the roaches and AC unit not working were innocent oversights. Management was apologetic. I was told that if I saw live cockroaches to let them know. By day 3, I saw live roaches. This is by the way the first day we physically slept and stayed in the unit. I reported this on Sunday. The apartment assistant manager was apprised the following day when she returned to work and to her credit did contact pest control and scheduled them out the same day. I continued to see live and dead roaches and approached management again basically telling them this is ridiculous: Continually packing and unpacking to prepare for pest control, having to continually clean up dead roaches and kill alive ones, and paying for the pleasure to do so. Management's solution was to keep sending out pest control and give me a $100 credit. My time spent doing all of this cleaning is worth more than that and I did not sign up to do so. This fiasco at this point has a quite unsatisfactory conclusion. Though they have now offered to allow me to move to a different unit three weeks from now - a solution that should have been immediately given, they want me to do so at my expense - financially, and time and labor-wise. I have to take a loss to move into a clean unit. Extremely unfair. I am extremely dissatisfied with Colonial Grand at Legacy Park. To be fair, the unit is roomy and has a nice floor plan. The community seems friendly though some of the pet owners are a bit lax in cleaning up after their dogs. The office staff are friendly as are the maintenance staff. The appliances are a crap shoot. Some seem to be fairly new while others are way over due for being replaced - cracked, scratched up, yellowed. Some amenities common in this area: dog park, car wash station are not provided. They do offer a "movie theater" room which is unique. If you enjoy walking, running or cycling, you will like the fact that there is an entry point to the greenway right from the complex grounds. It is not otherwise a walkable community - to go to the grocery store, etc. you will need to drive. Like many such mega complexes they nickel and dime you by passing on every operational expense imaginable to you: you pay additional fees to take your own trash to the dumpster, to have pest control come out monthly, etc. The most irritating expense however will be for Time Warner Cable which is automatically added to your monthly rent whether you want it or not. The ironic part is the automatic fee of $50 which is only for basic cable tv (no DVR box, no higher tiers) is higher than if you just ordered it on your own. Having read reviews of the complex before signing the lease, I do believe that my experience has been an anomaly and I am hopeful that when I contact management again today that they will at least agree to covering the financial cost that I will have to assume to move into what better be a roach free unit.

This is a long review, but I'll sum it up here: If you want to waste your money & time, be completely humiliated, and be made to feel exceedingly small & insignificant, just consult with ---------------- at this complex. Having just landed a job in the Northlake part of Charlotte, I've been thoroughly researching apartments in the area. I've rented many apartments over the years and have quite a bit of experience with the process, but I have never seen my needs so utterly disregarded. I discussed my needs very thoroughly via email ($775 budget for rent, 6-month lease term, etc) with the assistant property manager, ----------------, who was very informative at the time. I even specified the particular available unit that I was interested in (complete with the unit number provided on the website). I also told her that I knew that lease term could affect the cost of rent and that I was looking at a 6-month lease. Her response was that prices varied for every lease term, that longer lease terms weren't always cheaper, and that she'd love to show me around the community. This was a vague answer, but it gave me the impression that she wanted to get a lease signed for that unit and was willing to work with my budget. I made an appointment with her for Saturday at 2pm. I drove 2 hours to Charlotte and arrived at the office promptly at 2pm, where I was met by ------ (lovely girl), who informed me that I'd be taking the tour with her. I was a little surprised as -------- told me that she'd be the one showing me around, but this wasn't a big deal. We sat down to talk about the floor plan I was interested in, and I recapped my conversation with -------- for her. She told me that the unit I'd asked -------- about had been leased several days prior, but that they had another one available for $790 per month - again, not a big deal. When I told her I was interested in a 6-month lease, she quoted me $965 per month. I reiterated what -------- had told me and ------ informed me that that was the going rate for a 6-month lease and that they'd had no issues getting leases signed. I probably wasn't in that office for more than five minutes before turning around and driving the two hours back home. I've spoken with a number of other complexes in the area, all of which have had the courtesy to let me know that they can't work with my budget / lease term or they don't have the type of unit available that I'm looking for. I have to say that I am absolutely livid and cannot believe that I was put in this situation. It's been years since I was this upset over such a complete lack of customer care or service. In my experience, the office staff at apartment complexes treat prospective tenants better than current tenants (for obvious business reasons) - if this is how prospective tenants are treated at this complex, I'd hate to think how they treat their actual tenants.

Despite service requests on multiple occasions, I dealt with the hottest part of the year with no AC. Also, I requested that maintenance not enter my apartment without my presence or with proper notification and they disregarded my request. I would not recommended this apartment to anyone.

Becareful! This place is conveniently located and that's why i moved here. If you don't care about how your treated, if you don't care that the amenities have all been taken away, if you don't care that they sucker you in by "move-in" specials then raise your rent the next year like me by $152 with the excuse "well we raised your rent because your not paying market rate" then this is the place for you. I moved out and they nickle and dimed me for everything. I took great care of my apt and there was the "normal" wear and tear of living in an apt and they will find an excuse for you to pay "damage fees" when you leave...any little thing, examples: mini blind had 2 slats crinkled $25, a rub mark from a dresser which they had to paint over $50 - but the excuse was they had to use a 'special' paint to cover the rub marks so they have to charge, $50 for a spot in the dining room - not a big old juice stain, not a pet stain, a dot in the floor $50. The management is the worse, they never answer the phones, there are always new people in the front office so if something happened a month ago the new person knows nothing about it and they say they will handle it. You allow a little time for them to do their job and go into the office just to find out that the person you talked too no longer works there and the next person has to research it, all to say issues are not resolved. The maintenance men are always different. The inside of the apts are old and cabinets are falling apart. My neighbors apt had to be fumigated 3 times and no one would answer my questions of what they were fumigating for. I share the wall with the person, I have a right to know what might be ending up in my apt!! The place is a trap, it looks good from the outside but beware of what is inside.

I do my best not to ask of anything from Colonial b/c they don't care, the office doesnt. The best thing abt Colonial is their maintenance. This is really the only good thing I can say about Colonial at this time. The office constantly changes staff so how can you build a relationship if you don't have a contact person.

I was moving from Hickory, NC to Charlotte, NC to be closer to my job in Charlotte, but also start my own life away from my parents after graduation. I really enjoy the apartment unit because it is a great deal (good amount of space for the amount of rent) and the staff is extremely friendly. Of all the places we searched, this one really fit our needs.

I am very new to share the experience at this community, though I can share the the renting experience. The staff here is very helpful. They helped me in getting all the formalities done very quickly. There are some issue with the website like it doesn't calculate the required security deposit until you pay and if security deposit is not sufficient, it charges the application fee only from the card without informing the reason. Then you have to ask the staff about the reason. It also doesn't take American Express cards for payments. The office is not having card swipe machines as well. Therefore I left with the option to pay thru money orders only. But since the staff is very supportive, I was able to get the things done. If the payment methods are made easy the overall renting experience will become excellent.

The grounds are fifthy. Maintenance is responsible for sweeping the breeze way, which never happens because they are handling maintenance issues. The pool and gym are fifthy. The trash compactor has been out of order for a period of time. Man agent has allowed the garbage to pile up so much to it has flowed into the street.

Although we very recently moved here, CG at Legacy Park seems to be a well-kept property. The office staff is friendly and attentive to your needs. The only complaint I have is our 3-bedroom apartment has no linen closet and master bath is tiny.
