Been loving this place since my gf moved in, really can't get enough of the amenities. Two gyms, one of which is a cross-fit style. Plus free coffee? So great. Everyone seems great, especially Mark and his coffee-making skills!

This place is so cool. I've been staying with my SO for a while now and I am still not used to how much they have to offer. There is ALWAYS something to do. The free coffee is what sold me, and the baristas are great! Hannah and Mark have made my mornings with their super sweet energy!

Living at The Village at Commonwealth has really been great. The apartments are high quality, and the resident events and amenities are unlike anywhere else in Charlotte. Mark is the best in the office, too! Check them out!

The management is a joke. The parking is terrible, the single parking garage is unsafe from lack of mirrors to it being too narrow it only has enough space for a car to drive in one direction. If you park on the street it's a only a matter of time before your vehicle is involved in an accident The units are noisy and extremely bright from all of the exterior lights. The pool is nice but overcrowded. The actual units are aesthetically pleasing but that's as far as it goes. The unit rented to me reeks of pet odor and urine. Management has done nothing but dodge me and pretend to help but the odor is so strong it has absorbed into my items. Ginette is by far the worst, I don't imagine she will be employed long. I wouldn't recommend this complex to a homeless person... I'm actually in the middle of suing them, don't lose money like I have. Last thing the term is disheartened*management keeps responding with the wrong word and it's driving me insane. Pros: I like the gym and Adam...

Great physical apartment, beyond terrible customer service. This is the typical corporate apartment complex that doesn't care about their current tenured residents, only new. I have lived in Village going on 6 years. It's a great apartment in the sense that it has good amenities, it's in Plaza and the phase 1 apartments are a good size. You cannot get ahold of anyone in the leasing office. They do not post their email addresses on the website or internal portal- you have to email a general inbox. After 4 follow up's I went into the office and asked to speak with the manager. She was OOO for a week. I confirmed that I was emailing the correct email address, which I was but "admittedly, emails tend to get lost". I explained that I was hoping to sign my lease renewal for yet another year. They have increased my rent every single year and I was asking if there was any consideration in keeping the renewal rate unchanged for this year. The guy in the office responds "this is the question we get the most and the answer is consistently no". Well obviously everyone wants their rent to stay the same, but there was no "let me run that by my manager/corporate/whoever", just "yea we get that question a lot". I asked if there was a leasing manager I could speak with and he responds "Why? Are you looking for a different answer?". A current resident's lease is expiring and they are moving in with me. To get them added to my lease (now that theirs is ending) and able to keep the amenities access and get their key fob updated to my apartment (a flip of a button), they have to re-apply and pay an additional $100. This also furthers the point that they do not care about current residents. If you move here, just keep in mind that once you are a resident, good luck with the staff. The Concierge is great, the maintenance staff is great. The issue is with the leasing staff. Also, make sure you move into phase 1. They built phase 2 so quickly that the quality is abysmal. The floorboards don't stay down, the doorknobs constantly break, there are no screens in the windows (and yes they open all the way), you don't know whether your apartment has a balcony or not until you move in, etc.

I wish I could give less than 1 star for this place. Management is extremely unhelpful, hard to speak to, and seem to start more issues than they care to resolve. I've lived here for over 4 years and have seen the original management go from helpful and friendly to just absolutely disturbing and VERY hard to deal with, as other residents have expressed (especially with the newest management team of April 2021). Good luck trying to get maintenance to get anything done! Still waiting two months later for a simple fix (as is the same for other residents). You will not get anywhere with Ginette (of which others have stated their issues with her ignorance and lack of care). She is extremely unhelpful and will not do anything reasonable to help a resident. This place was good prior to the new management. Now, as others have been saying, after you sign a lease you're sure to be confused and ignored.

please fix the peloton bikes (the ones with the screens) in the gym. it has been months, and multiple people have said something. 3/4 of them have issues, whether they be stuck gears or the inability to adjust the height and length settings. one is so broken that it’s dangerous; the seat tilts backwards constantly, and the rider risks falling off the back of the bike every time they sit back down. a warning to anyone considering the village: this is a perfect example of the customer service here (especially the leasing office). in many situations, the bare minimum is done, only after multiple complaints. i’m not sure if it’s that the employees are unqualified to do their jobs, or if it’s just plain laziness (my guess is the latter, based on what we have seen).

The Village at Commonwealth is already amazing in how it was built (amenities, apt finishes, location), but their resident events are really unbelievable. There's something for everyone: a bi-weekly wine club (with karaoke now?!), summery concert series, free fitness classes, multiple food trucks per week, and lots of other things. But the event that did it for me was their new bike club. Mark ROCKS! And he leads the bike club like a professional tour guide. At this point I have no idea what else they'll add to their schedule this Summer. Move in here and you'll have something to do every night of the week!

If you're living in an apartment you need to come check this place out when your lease is up for renewal. Free in-house coffee bar (with barista) saves the average coffee drinker about $175-$200 PER MONTH on your lattes and espresso. Ask for Mark when you tour, if he's any indicator of what it's like living at Commonwealth it must be an incredible place.

Village at Commonwealth is in a quiet part of Plaza-Midwood, but is also right near all the activity with a short walk to the neighborhood Harris Teeter. Unique amenities and really nice looking apts compared to most in Charlotte. Mark in the office really took his time with my questions and helped me understand what they offered there. Definitely check them out!

The Village at Commonwealth is really tucked away in the Plaza-Midwood neighborhood, but it's still right next to the center of activity. Less than a 5 minute walk gets you right at the Harris Teeter (grocery), Undercurrent Coffee, Moxie Mercantile, etc. I've lived in PM for years and I never knew it was there, so it is definitely very quiet and cozy like a real neighborhood. Also, they have free espresso/tea from their in-house Barista, which I still cannot believe. Mark in the office gives a really nice tour and was very helpful with all of my partner's and my questions. We're looking forward to moving in this Summer!

I am looking to move from Greensboro to Charlotte within the next month. It has been difficult for me to look at apartments from over an hour away. I visited once and took a tour of the complex with Marisa. Since then Marisa has been unbelievably helpful in keeping me up to date on units available for my prospective move in date and answering all of my annoying questions. Her customer service has far exceeded that of any other complex I've toured so far and I am SO grateful for her help!!

I was really blown away by the offerings at Village at Commonwealth, if you work from home there are so many different lounge spaces to choose from, and one of their two (two!) gyms is a huge Cross-Fit style gym! They also have two pool, two hot tubs, and a barista that serves complementary coffee to residents and guests. The staff is really friendly, as well. Mark in leasing is great!. I'm looking forward to moving in this Spring. Recommended!

If Mark is any indication of how the apartment is run, then I am exited to move in. Coming from Jersey, it's a shock to meet anyone so friendly right off the bat. Guess what tehy say about the south is true. He walked me through the building, told me all about the amenities, residents, events, and things to do around town. This man has an almost eidetic memory when it comes to streets. P.S. That coffee place on Central was excellent. -John Taylor Dougan

Tyler Peterman is an amazing leasing agent/professional! He is very accommodating and goes above and beyond when it comes to showing you apartments and amenities! You can tell he truly wants you to be happy and choose what's best for you! He also is seen doing MANY different jobs around the apartment complex! Between assisting the onsite barista to helping out at the concierge desk! He can do it all! And does it with a smile! Tyler should be highly valued as an employee here! He really does make the residents happy! :D Thank you , Tyler, for helping me choose the best apt and being such a positive and sweet presence here! :) You rock!!!

Brooke, Alexis and Meghan have really gone above and beyond to make sure that this apartment complex is the best in the area. Also, can't forget about Don who works at the concierge desk - he is so kind and always brightens my day and he even helped me carry several of my packages to my car so that I wouldn't have to make 2 trips - what a guy! Residents here are all super friendly and I've had many opportunities to make friends at the pools and I'm looking forward to attending many of the upcoming events they have. They take luxury apartments to the next level. You won't regret living here!

Everyone has their list of MUST haves when locating to a new space. My review is based on desiring a peaceful place to live. If peace isn't top priority for you, this review may not apply. I'll gladly update my review when the amenities spaces are better under control. Let me elaborate. First off, the staff and concierge are AMAZING; the barista, the apartments - gorgeous! Phase 2 is a new build and there have been some major building hiccups and maintenance is swift and efficient to resolve the issues. I forgive all the maintenance issues and there have been many. Where I am taking off 3 stars is for the general issue regarding rule enforcement in this complex and that looks like non residents crowding amenity spaces like pools, grills, hot tubs, the volleyball court, and residents leaving spaces like the pool and game rooms trashed on a consistent basis. We've gone to management numerous times about the issues regarding the pool - the noise - the crowds (mid pandemic by the way) and they say that they 'know,' they're 'trying to hire a pool monitor,' that 'residents have just been really cooped up and the parties should start to taper off...' But it's been weeks without resolve and this issue will not resolve itself. The person who enforces the pool rules is often the concierge who spends most of Saturday and Sunday driving between pools and kicking people out while also managing a seemingly never ending line of people waiting for their packages. When concierge asks someone to turn their music down, sometimes they crank it back up when he walks away. And there are also always new groups arriving and turning up their speaker system. At any given point, it's not uncommon that there are 4 separate speaker systems competing for air. I could go on....the staff is stretched and the concierge is dealing with things I am certain they had no idea they would have to deal with. There is also no one wiping down lounge chairs as they just don't have sufficient staff to provide that, let alone consistently enforce that 5 residents haven't each invited 10 friends for day drinking at the pool. There are 822 units and one concierge who also has to play security. It also really sucks going to bed at 10pm on a Sunday night and waking up at 1130pm to a cackling group who snuck into the pool cracking open beer cans. If you're going to sneak in (which VC has made it SUPER easy to do) then be quiet! But this happens every. single. Sunday. night. If you move here and peace is important to you, I strongly advise against living near an amenity space. My husband and I moved here from NYC. I have lived in some noisy places, but have never experienced anything quite like this. This place is at a cross roads - either they seize control of their property and work to create a community of resident culture in which respect and love for your neighbors flourishes, or it completely turns into a college campus. I can't imagine anyone who could pay the $3900 per month that VC is charging for their townhomes would willfully choose to live in a place that feels and looks like a college campus. There is a LOT of competition in Charlotte. Again, I will happily update my review when the culture and rule enforcement improves.
