I moved in the Colonial Grand at Huntersville about 6 months ago and I have really enjoyed living here. The location is excellent and you can walk to everything, grocery stores, restaurants and parks. The staff is friendly and helpful. Any maintenance request has been taken care of same day. I have not seen a bed bug or a roach and the noise level is mostly quiet. Parking can be a challenge sometimes during the week but overall a good experience.

I saw the negative comments and wanted to assure you this is a great place to live. I have lived here for almost 4 years in a one bedroom and now a two bedroom. This exit is so great you can walk anywhere. The apartments and kitchens are beautiful. The staff is always ready and willing to help me solve any problems I have ever had. The service team always there in 24hrs and really cares about the community. The manager and assistant are very friendly ladies who always have a smile on there faces. I do live on the top floor but I have never had to have pest control spray for any bugs or other issues. I will hopefully be here another 4 years!

Only think great about this place is the design of the apartments. Yes they are nice but I moved in and my apartment was infested with bed bugs! I even had to pay for the exterminiation myself! After talking with a neighbor, they moved in and their apartment was infested with roaches. Half the staff is okay, but the manager is so loopy and I often wonder if she's on something.

TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT
I wouldn't recommend living here. Management is rude, unproductive, and has zero concern for well-being of their attendants. STAY AWAY FROM COLONIAL GRAND AT HUNTERSVILLE MANAGEMENT LIES TO TRY AND COVER THEIR OWN --- - it's really pathetic and immature. PARKING IS A TOTAL NIGHTMARE NOISE IS OUTRAGEOUS - AND THEY ALLOW IT... THEY DON'T FINE FOR NOISE STAFF IS AWFUL - period.

Best Apartment Staff EVER
I recently moved in to Colonial Grand at Huntersville and must say I am thoroughly impressed with not only the apartments, but the staff. This is the best staff I have ever had to deal with. The ladies in the office are super friendly and the maintenance men truly get any problems fixed right away. It's also close to everything! I don't know who previously worked here for the previous negative comments, however the current team is definitely on par!

COLONIAL GRAND SUCKS-STAY AWAY
Both Colonial Grand and AUM (Property Management) charge FRAUDULENT CHARGES. When you move out they charge you fraudulent SEWEER, TRASH and PEST CONTROL FEES. AUM (Their Property Management Company) charged me over $180 in FRAUDELENT CHARGES. Colonial Grand charged me close to $70 fraudulent charges for utilities when the utilities were being billed directly to me. They make you pay Colonial Grand, NOT energy United after you move out and if you don't they will put it on your credit report. After I moved out they sent me a bill with a fee that stated 2nd PET FEE. I ONLY HAVE 1 pet and I paid close to $500 for the pet to live there for 7 months. DO NOT LIVE HERE. RUN~RUN~RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are a LOT BETTER PLACES TO LIVE IN THAT AREA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wouldn't recommend to my enemy.
I have only lived here since Late October and have had my apartment sprayed for ants 4 times. They only stopped once I sprayed around the doors myself. When I first moved in the carpet in the guest bedroom had been scratched away by an animal and wasn't fixed until three months later. Anytime I run my hot water for more than a minute I can hear it dripping in the walls. None of my blinds stay open and all need to be replaced. The cabinets in the bathrooms and kitchen are coming off the walls and need to be re-caulked. One of the Kitchen cabinet doors fell of without being pulled and has still not been replaced after a month. I was told my carpets were cleaned and the walls were re-painted when I moved in but the carpets have dark spots that I just can not clean and the walls have been spot painted with a different paint shade. The paint is also so cheap that even a shirt rubbing against it leaves a mark. That's just the inside of the apartments. The neighbors never clean up after their dogs so watch out when walking on the grass at night. The screened in porch and fireplace can only be used during office hours and the lights near the grills don't work. So if you want to grill do it before the sun goes down. The work out equipment is always broken and pieces are broken off. Think twice before renting from this place.

You decide...
The inside of these apartments are very nice, especially compared to some that we have lived in before. We had no complaints with that part. However....and it's a big HOWEVER...maybe we just got the "unlucky" apartment. We could hear EVERYTHING that the people above us were doing. At any given moment, I could tell you what room they were in because we could hear footsteps, toilet flushes, dishwasher usage, etc. Not to mention, the two different tenants that were above us were exceptionally loud. One had a CRAZY dog and the current ones play music at 11pm, 6am, 1am...whenever they feel like it. We have tried numerous times to complain but unfortunately, nothing sufficient was ever done....it actually felt like no one believed us or maybe they just didnt care. That is why we are leaving....so you decide for yourself. Perhaps you will have better luck than we have...or you may just want to live on the top floor to avoid this ridiculous inconvinience. My suggestion...if you want to sleep at night, and enjoy your time inside your apartment...dont move in below anyone in this complex!

loved it there
My husband and I moved into Colonial Grand when they were just built. We loved living there. It was surprisingly very quiet, the apartments were well designed and very cute. The grounds were very nice and there were several police officers living in the complex. I always felt very safe. I also liked living across the street from the hospital...i was pregnant at the time. We never had a problem and the staff were also very nice and responsive. I would recommend this apartment to anyone, and would move back if I ever needed to.
