I have just moved into colonial village at Matthews 2 weeks ago. During this time I have had to put in 2 maintenance requests for minor repairs (outlets not working, outside porch lights went out). Both times my requests were completed within 2 days. I am very excited to live in this community's and I'm looking forward to the time I will spend here

    My particular apartment is ground floor because I'm somewhat disabled. It's very convenient, good parking and access. I have probably one of the best views here. A problem can be squirrels and a few feral cats but not enough to make me move. Maintenance, despite covid-19 has been prompt. Office staff always friendly. MAA prompt and efficient. Layout of unit is great, very light and airy. Bedroom one is large and good closet space. Bedroom two is big enough for an office and again good closet area.

      I feel safe in my home and neighborhood. Staff are very helpful and pleasant. Maintenance can be a little off depending on the problem and who comes out to do the work. I wish they would do something about the spiders and bugs as we pay for that maintenance each month (doesn't really reflect that they do anything) I love the maturity of the complex rather than one without trees etc.

        So far the community it great. I like the area , it's really close to everything my neighbors are really nice. The office lady's where very helping and very patient with helping me get into the place . I really enjoy my stay here

          So far, everything has gone well and smoothly. I am enjoying the quiet corner where my unit is located; deliveries are good; staff had been very pleasant but they are closed now due to Corona Virus issue.

            This is a quiet community. My neighbors are respectful and friendly. The complex is well maintained. The maintenance staff always responds to requests promptly. Grounds are well maintained. The onsite staff are well polite and very professional.

                It's been a good experience. Quiet, plenty of space, washer dryer. Office staff is kind and responsive. Pool and grills are lovely. Small fees and a required cable package (not including internet) raise monthly costs and I don't watch cable. The community is generally well maintained with the exception of the dumpster occasionally overflowing. Always had parking for myself and guests. Pests (roaches) were as expected in an older apartment building but no issues in winter. Paint and carpet in o.k. condition. Very pet friendly community. Overall good.

                  Having lived here for 6+ years, I have seen neighbors and management come and go. I have never had a negative situation with either. The current management is very effective and professional but also friendly and helpful. The grounds are kept up very well, especially considering this is a dog friendly complex. Maintenance tickets are almost always completed within one business day. I am very happy with the complex and have recommended it to many.

                    It was a smooth move in. Staff very friendly and helpful. Everything was there when I needed it. Only didnt like the fresh paint smell and the light being out on the 2nd level on the way to the 3rd level.

                      I enjoy living in the community, I think everybody is very respectful and quiet. People from maintenance are efficient. I would like, however, the place was cleaner. The stairs and lamps have spider webs and it shows they have not been cleaned in while. Sometimes people dont throw garbage in the disposal but they leave it outside and if you enter the complex it does not look good.

                        The apartment is fine. Lots of things don't work and/or are breaking ? maintenance comes quickly to fix them but our dishwasher hasn't worked since we moved in 4 months ago even though they have come 3 times to fix it.

                            I just moved in 2 weeks ago but so far it has been a great experience as a first time apartment renter. The office staff and maintenance have been amazing. I was told there was a dog park and I haven't found it yet. Hopefully the office staff can direct me to where it is.

                                It was an easy move in process with the leasing office and will answer all your questions. The apartment was in pretty nice condition other than a few things. The apartments are in need of spraying for bugs, but over all pretty good.

                                    overall I like it here because I live in the back cul-de-sac. However, I do wish it were maintained better. I see our sister community Colonial Grand has much better grounds and I wish our entrance look prettier.

                                        It's a very nice place to live and right outside of downtown Matthews. The people seem nice since I've been living there. Having that extra storage space on the porch is a plus! I have no complaints this far. I really hope that it stays that way!

                                          I paid over 1300$ to live with cockroaches and mold. Had to contact mantanice multiple times just to get them to come out a fix a problem. Not only that I was forced to pay rent by cashier check or money order every month. One month they forgot to process the check. They had staff more focused on trying to sleep with my relatives rather than inform us on apartment policies. Overall worst place I've ever lived.

                                          The buildings are in a state of disrepair and appliances have many known issues, like mold, leaking, and ineffectiveness. For example, the dishwasher pools water at the end of each loaf. You need to shop vac it out every day. There's a grate that isn't removable in the dishwasher and it grows mold behind it. So you wash your dishes in mold. And the dishwasher is so ineffective, you can only wash half a load at a time. Additionally, the apartment maintenance crew admits that they simply spray mold growing in walls down with antimicrobials and then paints over it. Of course, this process leaves mold growing in the walls and ceilings, but unsuspecting tenants don't realize it because of the paint.
