In the week I have lived here I have been rather pleased so far. The clubhouse is really nice, pools look great, and so far everything runs smoothly. Office staff is extremely nice and helpful! Compared to other complexes I've lived, this is it!

When I came to view the community for the first time on June 29, I arrived before it opened and there were still several customers in front of me with only one leasing agent working that day! Joy did a remarkably good job attending to me, especially given the waiting line and the number of interruptions by new tenants just picking up keys. Within the first month, I had two vehicles towed after 11 PM at night on a quiet Wednesday night. Towing during events is reasonable. Towing after 11 PM is absurd! Seems like Unlimited Recovery and MAA have conspired to line someone's pockets at the expense of tenants! I wonder what the NC Attorney General would say about this practice... It's certainly unethical, if not illegal. Raleigh is a university community. Consequently, MAA should negotiate with Time Warner Cable on behalf of residents to make cable TV an option, rather than a requirement. Fifty dollars extra per month is a lot in this economy. MAA should also negotiate a better deal for internet access with Time Warner Cable. Finally, as a last resort, MAA and Time Warner Cable should give residents the option of internet access instead of cable TV!

Do not move here! Apartment didn't match the one we were shown. We were told we were getting upgrades and didn't. We were told we didn't have to worry about painting walls when we left, then charged $400 for them to paint walls. Then we were charged almost $400 more for general cleaning and paying utilities. Almost $100 in cable charges when I had paid them every month already.

The amenities at the pool are great. The gym could be a bit larger. The view of the large brown puddle by the basketball nets and greenery isn't a pleasant view from my balcony. But the inside of my apartment is lovely. Especially the kitchen counters. Lauren was extremely helpful and pleasant to work with throughout the leasing process.

the apartments are nice, and spacious, depending upon where you live, parking is okay, the office staff needs to learn to treat people with more respect, and value tenants, the office staff can be rude at times, but overall the area is great.

Everyone was very friendly, knowledgeable about the property, and willing to do everything they could to help. I moved in the same day I signed my lease and they made sure I got into my apartment that day. I ad an issue regarding my power being turned off the day after I moved in, but the staff was very helpful in getting it turned back on as fast as they could. I was promised they wouldn't leave the site until my power had been restored and they held true to their word. Every time I've had to call or go to the office everyone has been so nice and helpful.

Overall poorly managed. Maintenance staff will guilt you for anything wrong with your apartment. Managers are not compassionate or helpful. Small things are not taken care of such as dog stations being maintained. Our hallway stairwell roof has been leaking and peeling since we moved in. Power randomly cuts off not even in the middle of a storm.

It is a lovely property. The staff are all very friendly and courteous and ALWAYS willing to help resolve any issue. Pam and I have been here almost a full year and renewed our lease for another year. We wouldn't think of living anywhere else. If and when we do move on, we will hopefully find another Colonial Grand property.

Excellent office staff and maintenance staff. Very friendly and attentive. The maint. Staff was always there within minutes of me calling! I swear, I would get off the computer and sit down and they'd be at my door! Can't get better than that. I never met any staff members that did not have a smile on their face and take the time to stop what they were doing to say hello.

I have found it an acceptable option while living in Raleigh but if you work outside of the city it is very hard to get anywhere during rush hour. Public transits are not the greatest either. Shopping for groceries is relatively convenient. It is not fair one pays for TV service whether you like it or not.

Staff impossible to reach on phone. Emailing them is one way street . Maintenance. Staff are paid per work order so no incentive to finish job rather more focused on servicing volume than quality. As a rresult been here for 1 1./2 month and issues I brought u p during move in has still not yet been fixed. Loved it here for first week. Seems staff more focused of getting new tenants than servicing current ones

Hi guys, this community is too good, well maintained, proper maintenance and pleasant staff/people are working here. At first I have read bad reviews on some website before moving in here, but after living here for a year now, I love this :).

It has been a very bad experience with one of my vehicles being towed because someone mistaken my tags for being expired , causing me to miss work and lose a contract in the ppprocess . The truck had a parking pass ..I'm am just extremely displeased about the whole situation ...no one will come to visitme bbecause of the fear of being towed

We absolutely love this community, we wish we had known it was right across the street from our old complex, we would have moved much sooner! Great atmosphere, wonderful amenities, and the most helpful maintenance staff we've ever experienced.

I enjoy this community and the convenience of being close to work and close to local attractions and activities. The grounds are well-kept and the maintenance staff is very responsive. The office staff is pleasant and some go way above and beyond with exceptional service.

It's been fairly solid. My complaints are the terrible parking structure. TONS of spots everywhere and yet minimal visitor spots and only one pass given. Appliances not always up to what I'm actually paying. Maintenance staff is good but sometimes has taken a few times to get things right. But, overall, it's been nice.

I would not say that I am happy living in this community. Dealing with the staff in the office is difficult and will leave you wanting to pull your hair out. The phone is rarely answered and any requests made will be ignored. You will be charged a monthly fee for pest extermination, but you are required to call and request for your apartment to be sprayed. If you can get someone to answer the phone they will claim to put you "in the books", and your apartment will never be sprayed. I wouldn't move in here, and I will be leaving when my lease is up.

Unfortunately I made a decision on this property based on my experience at another Colonial Grand. Since move in I have had various maintenance issues and lack of resolution. Joy in the office is the best staff member always willing to help.

The community is quiet and pleasant but I have started to be charged for things (i.e., cable) that I was told was free when I signed my lease. The office staff also made a mistake with my first bill when I moved in and asked for extra money months afterward when they realized that they had made a mistake. I also was told that I would have to purchase a fluorescent light tube for my kitchen when I feel that the maintenance staff should take care of such a thing.

I have been particularly impressed with the online portal for submitting maintenance requests. All of my needs have been addressed within 24 hours. There is a note explaining what has been done and I have returned to my apartment otherwise exactly as I left it.

I am a current resident at Colonial Grand at Trinity Commons. I really enjoy living here. Prior to moving here almost three years ago I hadn't rented an apartment in over 20 years. Making the transition to a rental was a breeze thanks to the great staff and maintenance crew. Everyone here is very helpful and has always shown concern when issues were brought to their attention and reacted promptly. I have friendly neighbors, some of which who were here prior to my occupancy and continue to stay put. I also love the location..minutes from the PNC arena state fairgrounds and moments to Cary with easy access to 440 and 40. I am in a 3 bedroom which I find to be very spacious (over 1500 square ft!!) Lastly, it's a great environment for families as well as college students and young professionals. It's a nice blend that really works together well. PS - in case anyone is skeptical about this review - i.e.. wondering if it was written by management - please let me assure you it was not! :)

I moved in about 9 days before this post. I am highly upset with this place. My number 1 issue is the smells. After moving into this apartment, in which I never seen before my move in date (and the model was much nicer) I have been complaining about an overwhelming blanketing coat of cigarette smoke throughout this apartment. I had to be out for an entire day while the maintenance ran some machine that was supposed to clear the air; it did not work. Now they have to get a contractor to come out and try something, while my clothes are full of this stink. Secondly, I do not own a pet and I don't have a problem with them, except when my bedroom vent blows the smell of fresh dog urnine right over my bed. When it rains, walking to your car is just horrible...all the combined dog urine of the week just tickles your nose... So cigarettes and dog urine are the ONLY two reasons why I am I unsatisfied with this place. I'm going to pay the fees to break my lease and move out.

I have been living here for two years and it was the biggest mistake ever i made when i renewed the lease i should have read the comments before i get into this!!!! I agree they take every penny out of u! I moved in right after i got married with my husband and we got a good deal on a one bedroom... Our furniture and everything was brand new!!!! 3 months later we find bedbugs! Which i have never had anywhere else before (this is not the issue im not blaming the office cuz u could catch bedbugs anywhere) anyways we call the office for early treatment ( they told us it would be $400, and if we dont get it treated well be responsible for all the other neighbors if it spreads) so far no issues with the office yet UNTIL it gets to the actual treatment, believe it or not they spent 6 whole months treating the BB... At the beginning it was literally 2 BB that i found but wanted to get the treatment before it goes out of control.. Anyway the BB lady comes for the treatment with a tiney bottle with the chemical in it sprayed on random places on the mattress and left, caused us nothing but a freakin stain on the mattress, not only that, but i swear she kept doing this treatment for 6 whole da** months!!! Every time she leaves we'd see the. Spread around from the chemicals... And asked us to get an encasement... We did which was another $100. So far thats total of $500. Again its ok bc we wanted to get rid of them... Now the issue is that when she came back for the treatment she saw a hole in the encasement which ruined everything! Bc do u realize that BB can live in the encasement for a whole year??? And who wouldnt have a hole for a whole year!!!!! She never treated the eggs but only the BB. Which is no help we kept going on for 6 goin on 7 months!!!! Anyway i got so sick of her especially that everytime she comes she would complain about how sick she is well its not my fault i paid them i should get the service i paid for.... So i gave up And called Terminix... Thats an outside company for BB treatment... They came in for a free consultation. And because it was only one bedroom they said they would only charge us $380 which they did... First time the guy came in to do the treatment he ripped the encasement and took it out of the apartment and told me thats why youve been having this issue bc the encasement is full of eggs that keep hatching so he threw it away did the treatment. Came back in two weeks for another treatment and BAM!!! No more BB within two weeks and no encasements either!!! He then came two other time to make sure that he doesn't see anything.. And indeed there was nothing now we dont have any more BB and no encasements to worry about or holes!!! Terminix did an amazing job. All within a month!!!!! Now Another issue with this stupid office is that they wont give me my money back they didnt do sh** but they freakin took my money !! I spoke to the mNager she literally made me cry with her nasty attitude... then i emailed the corporate office they said sorry they couldnt do anything and never tried to call me back i spoke to the manager their Nicole and she didnt seem to care... im just going in a loop....then comes the renewal period for our 7lease. They told us that our rent would go up literally $160 more for one bed room r u kidding me! Usually from my experience apartments go up by %. Not a freaking 160 more....we were going to move out they called us and said they would take it down so now were paying $70 more and we kind of didnt want to change addresses bc my husband is job hunting overseas so we stayed with them another year YUCK!!!! they also told us that they would give us a free accent wall paint on Apr.13 we are now in june never heard back from them....i dont even care about it now anymore..I cant wait til we move out next March.... I did not want to give them a one star i would do 0 stars but thats not possible.... It seems like everyone is having different kind of issues with them... All i can say is stay away from them... Really... I had 4 different referrals to move in but i turned them away... They do steal your money as stated in other comments and they dont seem to care!!

It's a nice place. Different people have different experiences depending on who their neighbors are and how they interact with management. Some neighbors suck, it's the luck of the draw. And some tenants are just rude and spoiled, which isn't the attitude to use when you're asking for something from the office. I lucked out and have quiet neighbors. When I make a maintenance request, I do it nicely and respectfully. And because of that, I have had maintenance come at 3 in the morning for emergency service. I talk with the staff like they are people and not at them like they are my servants. My only complaint is one that I have for all apartment complexes, and that is rent increases and hidden fees. I don't know why apartments increase rent for tenants who are loyal and have stayed for a few years. I also wish places were up front about ALL charges.
